Nico keeps asking if he can join Rex at the exclusive swimming club. Then one winter week, Rex asks his friend to come along.

And yep, still suck at 1 line descriptions. Someday...

SO A commissioned piece done for a long-time friend. What's in it? Rubber, transformation, otters, swimming, and other surprises! Thank you to my 'nonny patron!

"I gotta get moving." Rex said in a hurry. He frantically through the living room. "Keys k-keys keys keys..." he sang to break his own tension, patting down his lined jacket to make sure he hadn't put them inside.

"They're on the table." Nico said in almost a sigh. Rex looked over, and almost jumped to grab them. "You gotta always be on time?"

"It's my ass if I'm late." Rex said as he slipped into his jacket.

"I know, you said your club is hardcore and all that." Nico turned back to the TV. "I still wanna come with you some time."

"Kinda exclusive." Rex said, making his way to the door. "It's not like a gym or anything. It's really different. Gotta motor." Rex closed the door behind himself and hurried out to his car. Nico shook his head, and went back to his game.

Rex quietly surfaced and put his arms on the edge of the pool, waving his feet under him idly. A moment later Walker surfaced next to him and rested his arms on the side of the pool too. "Good breath control." He said, and they both chuckled softly. "When you're ready we'll go for some more time."

"Gimme a minute." Rex said. "Just been thinkin' bout my roommate."

"Everything ok?" Walker asked.

"Yeah, just he asked again today." Rex said, rolling his head back. "I mean it's not like it's irritating or anything but I don't know if he'd really be into this."

Walker rested his chin on his arm. "I know what you mean." He put his arm around Rex's shoulder. "It can be tough to know." Walker floated over until he was behind Rex, wrapping his legs around Rex's waist and putting his arms in front of Rex. "We didn't know about you either, but you really came into your own here."

Rex nodded, putting his hand on Walkers and rubbing the back of it. "I just feel bad, that's all. He keeps asking, I keep telling him I can't make the decision." Rex put his chin on his arm and sighed to himself. "It's probably killing him inside."

"He's a swimmer?" Walker asked.

"Probably born in a lake." Rex chuckled to himself. "I've known him since high school where we swam on the team together. He usually kept to himself tho, the coach put him on the reserve spot because of politics but he was there, always." Rex kissed Walkers hand gently. "Nico was faster too. He could probably catch fish if he wanted. So when he knows I'm swimming here a lot, ya know... I just feel bad, that's all."

Walker nodded, rubbing his cheek against Rex's from behind. "Tell you what. Tomorrow nobody's scheduled to be here. I've got a spare suit I'll put out. Bring him by, see if he really gets into it or not, and we can kinda take it from there." Rex nodded, and held Walker's paw in his own. "Can I ask, is he gay?"

"He might be." Rex said softly. "I feel like he's like I was. You kinda had to know where we grew up, not the most open community. We didn't talk about that kinda thing much to anyone."

Walker nodded, and kissed Rex's muzzle gently. "We'll find out soon enough." He put his hand in the water and stroked just under Rex's belly. "Get a nice deep breath before going down." Rex smiled, and felt his shaft get heavier as Walker submerged. He took a deep breath, and went under with him.

The next night, Nico fidgeted while riding in the passenger seat. "Is this really necessary?" He reached up to the bandana around his eyes, pulling on it.

"Unfortunately, yeah." Rex said. "One of the conditions of you coming here is you can't know where it is until you've passed a trial period."

"This is like spy movie crap." Nico said with a laugh. "Can I at least make it looser?"

"If you see where we're going, I'm screwed." Rex said with a wide grin and shaking his head. "Just chill, I'm not taking you to the woods to leave your body somewhere or anything."

Nico just nodded. "How much further tho?"

"Five minutes or so." Rex said.

They sat in silence a few moments. "So are there like machines there for circuit training or something?"

"Not really, no." Rex said. "It's just this guy's place."

"Oh." Nico said, and leaned back.

"Just chill out a few, we're almost there, it's easier to show ya." Nico nodded as Rex pulled into the driveway. He pulled the access card from the sun visor, and the gates opened up. He drove to the swim house entrance and turned the car off. "Ok, we're here. Go ahead and take it off."

Nico pulled the bandana off his eyes, and gasped when he saw the building. "Tha... woah. That's bigger than our place!"

Rex chuckled. "Yeah, I know."

"So what, this is a greenhouse?" Nico asked as he got out of the car. He instinctively pulled his jacket tighter at the neck as he shuffled quickly around to Rex's side.

"Sort of." Rex said. "He's got two main pools and a hot tub along with the plants and stuff." He locked his car doors and gestured with his hand. "Entrance is over here, we can get changed and stuff." Nico just nodded. Rex swiped his card into the reader at the door, and they both walked in through the double entrance. They both sighed in relief to feel the warmth of the inside of the building. "There should be a suit laid out for you."

"So that's why I couldn't bring my suit?" Rex nodded as he turned on the lights. Nico glanced around at the bamboo siding on the walls. The white cabinets and lazily spinning ceilng fans gave the room an almost tropical feel, along with the humidity. In each cabinet hung a full rubber suit, and one was on a bench. "We're supposed to wear that?"

"yep." Rex said, going right to one spot. "And here's the spare suit. This might be a little tight but I think it'll do ok." Rex started taking off his clothing, kicking his shoes into the cabinet gently.

Nico picked up the suit and inspected it. "What's this thing on the back?"

"A tail." Rex said, very as-a-matter-of-factly. "It helps, trust me."

"How can a tail he.... when did you get a tattoo?" Nico looked at his naked friend in some disbelief.

Rex looked up from his own suit. "Oh, that? Like months ago?" He ran his finger along the ink on his left breast. "We all have one like this, I just like the tribal minimalism so I went with this." Nico stared at the otter tattoo in disbelief. How didn't he see that before? "And blue is my color, so I got it done like this."

"Bl..." Nico looked down to Rex's feet, and saw he had already began to put on his rubber suit. The feet almost looked like stubby swim fins, webbing between the toes. And it was deep blue with light blue highlights. "Blue rubber otter suit."

"There's a reason." Rex said. "The tail helps stabilize once you learn how to use it, the hand and foot paws are webbed to increase thrust in the water and get more from each stroke and teach good form. And the head piece is actually streamlined for the whole suit while acting like goggles so you can see under water without causing drag."

Nico looked at the black rubber suit he was supposed to wear. "This is a little weird."

"Can't argue results." Rex said, sliding the legs up. "I've shaved two seconds off my high school times and my endurance is unholy now. I could swim a triathalon, we've tested it in here." Nico looked uneasily at the suit. "Come on, you're here, just try it? If you don't like it, it's cool, no worries. But you don't know if you don't try it on."

Nico sighed. "I guess I'm here. Ok, so, umm, how do I put this on?"

"Ok, first you gotta get outta street clothing." Rex said.

"Shouldn't I shower first or something?"

"Don't worry about it." Rex said. "It's not a dry suit, you'll be fine." Nico nodded, taking his clothing off and hanging them on the hooks in the cabinet. "Ok, have a seat, gather it up at the legs, and stick your feet in, make sure your toes are in the right spots. Looks good. Ok, pull it up to your hips gently. Don't worry, it won't rip."

Nico stopped when he got to his hips. "Umm... What in the hell is this inside here?"

"It's for streamlining." Rex said. "You put your junk in it." Nico stared at the pocket in the crotch, and then back at Rex. "Here, I'll show ya." He pulled his own suit up, carefully putting his testicles into the pocked inside the suit, then his penis into the tube, pulling it up against his belly. "It minimizes the bulge and keeps the water flow smooth."

In almost a sense of disbelief, Nico mirrored Rex's actions, and stuffed his manhood into these pockets. It felt a little warm, but not uncomfortable. He stood up to pull the suit up, feeling the weight of the thick tail behind him. He swung his hips, feeling the tail's sway. He then looked between his legs, and saw that the suit was pushing his testicles closer to his body while keeping his penis close to his belly. "Feels SO weird!" he said softly.

"Ok, so pull up the suit now, get your hands into the arms and slowly put them on. Might need to wriggle your fingers to get into the hand paws. Ok, the head piece is easy too. From the front, pull it over your head, you're gonna feel something want to go into your mouth, this'll help ya breathe easier. Once it's on, I'll zip up the back and close the flap."

Nico pulled the head pices up and over, and felt the small flat piece at his lips. He opened his mouth, and could taste the rubber as air moved past it. He ran his hands over his head, feeling the otter ears on the top of his head. "Hemme gess, habillity?"

"LEmme zip it shut, makes it easier to talk when it's tight." Rex said, grabbing the zipper pull by the tail. "But yeah, it adds to the look and reduces vortexes or something, all I know is it works. Ok, this is gonna feel tight, but breathe normally." Rex pulled the zipper up Nico's back gently, then down from the top of his head. "You're gonna feel a slight tingle when I seal the zipper, it's normal so don't freak."

Nico felt Rex do something behind him, and he felt a pins and needles shiver start from the back of his neck and travel through his whole body. He let out a loud gasp as the suit pulled tight across his back and then his head. His eyes snapped into sharp focus through the lenses of the mask. His hands and feet felt natural within their webbed rubber paws. HE even felt the tail behind him as an extension of himself, almost like he could control it at his whimsy. He even felt like he could control the ears on top of his head. "W...wow..."

Rex watched as the seams sealed behind Nico, the zipper's teeth vanishing quickly. He glanced at the key, smiled to himself, and quickly put it on a free hook in the cabinet that Nico was using, put his head piece on and zipped it up. He let out a quiet groan of pleasure as he felt the zipper key come off the suit in his paw. He smiled, looking over at Nico. The black otter suit had molded nicely. Nico was marveling at his paws, feeling the broad muzzle and monofilament whiskers. "Feels pretty cool, doesn't it?"

"Y... yeah..." Nico said. Rex smile to himself when he saw Nico's shaft begin to bulge. Nico looked at Rex, and saw a blue rubber otter, light blue underbelly going down to his legs and behind to his butt going down his tail. It framed his genitals and almost highlighted them. His eyes gleamed as the goggles reflected the overhead light in a light blue, contrasting the darker blue body. Black claws on his hand and foot paws and reinforced rubber webbing between the fingers and toes. Nico felt his crotch get even heavier at the sight. He then looked down, and covered himself quickly.

Rex chuckled. "Don't worry about it brah. It happens and we're the only ones here." Nico nodded, but didn't move his hands. "Let's get out for a swim, and get your mind offa that." Nico nodded quickly. Rex killed the lights as they walked through the beaded entrance and into the main area. He tapped a screen, and the lighting came up ever so subtly through the inside of the building. Nico stopped dead in his tracks, looking around in awe. Rex took in a deep breath and smiled. "Ya like it?"

"Wow." Nico whispered out. He looked at the towering trees swaying in an apparent soft breeze. He could hear the sounds of running water, jungle birds and insects. He could smell the wet earth and taste the humitity. Rex smiled watching Nico take it all in. "How'd he DO this?"

"Dunno." Rex said. "I don't ask, and I'm ok with not knowing." He walked into the arboretum seemingly unphased, and Nico followed, alternating looking up at the canopy and down at the ground.

"Are those trees real?"

"All the plants are real." Rex said. "Don't worry about the dirt either, the pool filters it out pretty well." Nico looked down and saw he was standing on a hardpack dirt trail. "There's two pools, one is the standing one that's like an offshoot, the other is the rapids which isn't really rapids, it's just flowing water. The hot tub is pretty cool too, it's made to look like a hot spring. Makes a great way to unwind."

Nico stopped, and listened to the sound of running water, the sounds of jungle birds singing and atmospherics of rumbling thunder in the distance. "Speakers?"

"All over the place probably." Rex said. "There's no real animals in here." They walked over to a pool which was painted black. "Coolest part about swimming here in the daytime is that there's cold and warm spots in the water depending on the sun. Kinda bowl shaped in there, deepest part is like fifteen feet or so and it drops pretty steep over here. It connects to the rapids over there so you don't have to ever leave the water."

Nico knelt at the side of the pool, putting his pawed hand into it. It felt barely colder than his body temperature. He sniffed his paw afterwards. "Why doesn't it smell like chlorine?"

"There's no chlorine." Rex said. "I know, I know, I had the same look too. There's some huge filters outside that do something to it, I don't know what but its safe. I mean I've been here how many times and I'm ok with it."

Nico nodded. "Ok, ok, so, umm, how do you work out here? This isn't exactly a lap pool."

Rex grinned, making Nico look at him funny. "wha? Oh, that, the suit has something in it to make the muzzle react to facial expressions too."

"This thing has to be expensive." Nico said. "Why haven't I heard of it before?"

"The guy who owns this place makes 'em. It's still beta testing, ya know?" Rex said, kneeling down and rolling playfully into the water. "Come on in, water's great. We'll do some warm-ups in here before we hit the rapids. That's where you really get a workout."

Time seemed to blur for Nico after he jumped into the still pool.. He and Rex started with simple warm up slow swims leading to a game of underwater tag with acrobatic moves Nico had never seen before. He was also amazed at Rex's stamina holding his breath. He was never like that in high school! Rex went into a hidden room by the lockers to get underwater hoops, and showed Nico how to swim through them in an obstacle course style.

Eventually they went to the rapids section, which was a deep flowing river-like feature with logs, rocks and overhanging trees. "This is where you get a lot of strength and endurance training." Rex said. "We swim upstream, once there we float back to the shore here and repeat. If you can't make it, head to the sides where the current is less." Nico nodded, and tried to pace with Rex on the first swim up. He barely made it half way before stopping, gasping for breath as he floated on his back effortlessly. Rex noticed the faint glow around Nico's suit, and swam over wuickly. "You ok?"

"Holy hell, this is hard." Nico said. "How fast is this moving?"

"Only a few knots." Rex said, lazily backstroking to keep up with a floating Nico.

"This is worse than the sprints Mr. Sherman made us do!" Nico felt himself gently wash up to a sloping beach like feature at the end of the rapids run. Once he rested on the dark sand, the shit's glow faded. Rex sighed in relief. Nico lay on his back on the sand, panting hard, hands over his head. "And you do this how many times?"

"Ten at minimum." Rex drifted until he was on the beach as well. "But if it makes you feel better, the first time I got about as far as you did. I didn't make it past the second log. You were up by the rocks."

"Ten?" Nico asked. "Wow. Just..."

"Hey, it's been what, four years since high school? You're out of practice. If you like this we'll get you back in shape in no time."

"I used to swim in open water, back home before we moved." Nico said. "This is so different."

"Yeah." Rex said. "You mentioned it once or twice." He lazily ran his hand along Nico's chest, Nico found himself cooing softly. "This takes a lot out of you the first bunch of times."

"It explains how you shaved two seconds off your 100 tho." Nico said. Rex stopped, making Nico look up. "Y... you didn't have to stop that." Rex tilted his head a little. "That, umm... it felt pretty good."

Rex smiled and resumed stroking Nico's chest. "You sure?" Nico nodded. "It's something else we do here a lot."

"Not like the team." Nico said.

"Not really, no." Rex watched the blue rubber of his paw glide along Nico's chest. "This place is different. Everyone's here to become a better swimmer. We push ourselves, but we root for each other too. Walker's staying in shape for triathalons. Phil wants to swim the channel someday. Gerry wants to attempt a swim across Lake Superior or something. You remember Gerry, right?"

"Is that the guy you work with?" Nico asked.

"Yeah, he graduated college and went to a real job tho. He's the one who invited me here." Rex said.

Nico nodded, looking around at the trees over him. "I can see why it's not public now tho. People would trash this place." Rex nodded. Nico looked at Rex's paw-like hand. "You've never done this before."

Rex chuckled. "I get a little more playful when I'm here. The atmosphere, the suit, the other guys playing around, I loosen up a lot."

A sound of thunder rumbled softly, and Nico looked up as sprinklers in the ceiling started to drop water onto them. He laughed to himself. "This happens a lot?"

"Yeah." Rex said. "it's random, but while we're here we get rained on a lot. Adds to the feel." He looked up at the water, and smiled. "You want to try this one more time?"

"I don't have it in me." Nico said. "I'm almost ready to head home."

Rex nodded. "We can do that. If you want." Nico nodded. Rex got up, and offered Nico a helping paw. "We can stop somewhere on the way home and get something to eat if you'd like."

"Is it bad I'm craving seafood?" Nico asked. Rex laughed softly and shook his head no. "Oh, ok, could we get some then?"

Rex turned on his computer when he got home to find an e-mail from Walker. "I like him, he's cute. He wants to come back?" Rex tapped the keys for a few minutes, and hit send. Later that night, he got a reply. "If he does, let me know. I'll be there." Rex smiled.

A few days later Nico tapped on Rex's door as he was relaxing in his room. "Hey, umm, got a minute?"

"Whassup?" Rex hit pause on his game.

"I'm not sure." Nico said quietly. "Last couple of nights, been having dreams about that guys place. Like really vivd ones."

"Good or bad?" Rex asked.

"Good." Nico said. "Swimming there, being able to glide underwater, doing stuff like that. That happen to you too?"

"Yeah." Rex said. "When he turns off the overheads later at night it really gets into your head. It looks and feels like a rainforest and puts you into the otter space."

"Otter space?" Nico shifted on his feet.

"Ya gotta ask Walker." Rex said. "He explained it to me once. It's a theory he's got about swimiming naturally, no warming up, no thought about perfect form or any of the crap Mr Sherman pounded into our heads. It's something like otters don't think about swimming, they just do it. They don't need to get loose, they just are. They don't need to train, they just swim. He calls it otter space." He put his hands in front of him in a fake meditation, craned his head up to the sky, and spoke in a very bad accent. "Do not think, just swim." He laughed a little as he dropped the act

"What, he's a hippie?" Nico smirked.

"Can't argue 10 laps in the rapids." Rex said. "It takes some time, but it works. Seriously, it's making me want to try the triathalon this summer. Just need to get a decent bike instead of the crappy one."

Nico nodded to himself. "When's the next time you're going?"

Rex looked at the calendar on the wall. "Umm, two days, gotta be there at 6 for a night swim."

"Would it... be ok if I came with?" Nico asked.

Rex nodded. "I'll tell Walker you want to go, he'll have the spare suit out for ya." Nico smiled.

Later that night Rex tapped in a text message, and got a reply soon after. "I'll have my hopes up, C-ya @ 6"

Rex drove with the heat cranked up to full blast. "Do I still have to wear this stupid thing?" Nico asked, head rolled back on the car seat.

"Fraid so." Rex said. "We'll see how it goes."

Nico groaned. "This is just annoying tho." He leaned forward a little as Rex kept driving. "They've been getting more vivid."

"What has?" Rex asked.

"The dreams." Nico said. "Last night I was swimming in the lake. I could see through the water tho. You know how lakes are really muddy, right?"

"Yeah."

"I could see through that. And I was catching fish with my hands." Nico turned his head twords Rex. "You get that?"

"Not like that, but yeah." Rex said. "I'm usually in the ocean going through kelp fields."

"It gets into your head, doesn't it?" Nico asked

"Yeah. But I like it." Rex said. "Feels good tho, always wake up feeling good."

"It did feel good." Nico mumbled to himself.

"We're about there." Rex said. Nico nodded, and relaxed back into his seat.

When Rex stopped the car, they both got out into the bitter cold snap. They quickly got into the building, shedding their winter clothing quickly. Nico saw the black suit he wore hanging in the cabinet he had used before, and picked it up with some wonder. He looked at Rex, who was already naked and putting on his rubber suit. "So why is yours blue?"

"It's my color." Rex said. "It's why my ink is blue too." He tapped the tribal otter on his chest.

"I didn't know you liked blue." Nico said. "Most of your shirts are white and stuff."

"It's a soul thing." Rex said. "I mean it just happened this way."

"Is that why you got a blue one?" Nico asked. Rex nodded as he pulled the suit over his hips. "How long did it take to get yours?"

"Not long." Rex said. "Need help suiting up?"

"I remember how." Nico said as he pulled the suit up from memory. "I feel like it's a part of me."

Rex didn't look up, but smiled anyway. "I can help zip ya up if you need."

"Please?" Nico pulled the hood over his head, and Rex pulled the zipper tab up, and off the suit. Nico groaned softly as his skin tingled from head to toe. Rex quickly zipped himself in as well, discretely putting the pull tabs on the cabinets as Nico rolled his shoulders in pleasure, feeling himself ebign encased in the rubber suit. He looked over to Nico who had a larger bulge in his crotch than before. "That feels so good..." he said, almost dreamily.

"I can tell." Rex chuckled, Nico looked over, then down, and shrugged. "Like I said, it's cool. Nobody will see, it's a night swim."

"I'm ok with that." Rex motioned with his webbed paw, and Nico walked with him to the still pool. They started with some basic laps which turned into a game of keep-away with a floating log prop.

"CANNONBAAAALLLL!!!" Nico barely had time to react as the water next to him seemed to explode. He scurried out of the way, only to be greeted by a purple otter. "You must be Nico!"

"Umm, yeah?" Nico said.

"I'm Walker! I wanted to meet you last time but I was a little busy." He extended a paw, which Nico shook.

"This is your place?" Nico asked. Walker nodded. "This is amazing!"

"Thankya!" Walker said, rolling onto his back effortlessly and paddling with his feet. "It's not much, but it's home."

"Understatement of the year." Rex said, splashing water at Walker who laughed.

"It's just my humble abode!" Walker gestured with one rubber paw as he swam in a corkscrew pattern as he talked in a sing-song voice. "And since I love rainforests and swimming, I can indulge myself and friends with this."

Nico nodded. "So do you own a company or something? I mean this is a..."

"Oh too many questions!" Walker said in a comical tone. "How can you be so serious, otterboy?" He lounged on his back and floated with his arms behind his head, his tail swishing slightly. "Just enjoy the water, the birds, the night sky, the rain that's going to come sooner or later, the sounds of the rapids... Lay on your back, and just relax. What 'cha in a hurry for anyway? You don't need all the answers, just the important ones. Just try it, float on your back, and stop worrying."

Nico sighed to himself, and tried floating on his back. He treaded water with his arms, took in deep breaths, and couldn't stay steady. "You gotta relax, otterboy." Walker said. "Otters don't think about floating, they don't. They just float. Stop thinking like a person, just be." Nico stretched his body out, and then let himself be held afloat by Rex and Walker on his back. "Now let go of that pesky notion that you need to fight the water. Don't fight. Just let it flow."

Nico relaxed, feeling like he was being held up. He closed his eyes, and felt the water lapping at his sides, his face, his cheeks, even the costume ears. Before he knew it, he realized Rex had let go. "I'm... how am I..."

"Shh!" Walker said playfully. "Don't ask. Just be."

Nico looked up at the sky, and past the trees he could see the stars in a cloudless night. He smiled, thinking of home briefly. "Wait, how can the glass not be fogged? It's cold ou..."

Walker put his paw finger on Nico's rubber muzzle. "Shh!" he teased, trying to sound like a bad movie sensei. "That is a question. No questions, just otterfloating."

Nico rolled his head back until his eyes were under the water line. "It's just so..."

"Weird?" Walker asked. Nico nodded slowly. "Rex has told me you did competitive swimming in high school, right?" Nico nodded. Walker silently dropped, dipping under the water then surfaced near Nico, treading water effortlessly next to him. He spoke softly. "They teach you how to win at the cost of making it not fun. If you want, I'll teach you to have fun, with the benefit of making you a better swimmer." Walker put his paws on Nico's head gently, causing Nico to squirm a little. "Relax, otterboy. Close your eyes, I won't let you sink. Just think about what you liked about swimming in the first place."

Nico's thoughts quickly drifted to the old lake, getting out of the house for a while to be away from that. He thought of the times he'd stay after school just to swim. He thought of the times in the locker room. Oh God the locker room. Always looking at the floor. Shamed into looking at the floor after the incident. But that's when he met Rex, and things got better after that. Swimming laps in the same lane all the time, encouraging each other. The dreams, the hopes...

Walker kept his paws on Nico's head, maintaining the spell and watching it glow around Nico's eyes in a band. The pool glowed in a soft purple hue as his power radiated through the water. "He likes you too, you know."

"I know." Rex said with a hint of guilt, floating next to them both. "I kinda see it too."

"You should tell him."

"I'm not sure how."

"I have a way, if you want."

Nico's eyes refocused on the stars overhead. He looked around and saw he was alone in the pool, but could hear laughter coming from the rapids. He kicked gently and made his way to the edge, pulling himself up and out with ease. He walked to the flowing water, and saw Rex and Walker swimming against the current, laughing.

"Well look who's finally awake!" Walker yelled. "Dive on in!"

"I can't keep up with you guys in there." Nico said, going to the edge of the water.

"Sure you can!" Rex said. "I'll carry ya if I have to!"

Nico sighed to himself, and dove in head first. He surfaced, grabbing onto a downed log in the water to hold on. "Just go with it, otterboy!" Walker said with a smile as he dove under, swimming gracefully into the current. Nico let go, and paddled into the stream. After slamming his arms into the water for a minute and not making headway, he gave up, floating backwards and panting hard. He drifted into the sand of the bank, and lay on the sand panting hard.

Rex glided into the bank, crawling up the bank laying next to his friend. "You ok?"

Nico nodded, looking up to see Walker casually back-stroking through the rapids. "How does he do that?" Nico asked between breaths.

"He does this every day." Rex said. "And he's got some advantages." He ran his paw over Nico's chest gently. "And he doesn't panic."

"How?" Nico asked, rolling his head back into the soft bank, closing his eyes and still catching his breath. "That freaked me out. Just so much water!"

"You learn to relax." Nico looked up to see Walker there. "Stop thinking like a person, just be an otter. Just be what you are. Be who you are."

"But I'm not..." Nico stopped, looking at Walker in the full moonlight. "Did... you change suits or something?"

Walker nodded. "Or something, yes." Walker touched the white patterns on his arms that contrasted against the purple, tracing the circles and lines that snaked across to his chest, over the otter marking on the left breast and beyond. He then took a finger and traced it along Nico's leg. "You like?" Nico nodded. "Rex does too, you know."

Nico looked up to look at Rex. The first thing he saw was the same deep blue tribal otter that he had only seen for the first time recently. The next thing that he saw was Rex's sheath. An animalistic protrusion that barely poked out of the belly of his suit. Nico gasped, then closed his eyes turning his head away. Rex brought his paw up to Nico's chin. "You don't have to look away."

"B... but..."

"I know." Rex said. "I know. I remember." Rex rolled slightly to his side, resting his muzzle on Nico's chest. "They sucked, you know."

"Yeah."

"I didn't say anything back then 'cause I didn't know what to say." Rex said. "I didn't mind it tho. I mean I was flattered you would look."

Nico rolled his head back and sighed. "Everyone else did."

"Bunch of fucking homophobes, all of 'em." Rex said. "And none of 'em got a swimming scholarship either." Nico laughed dryly. Rex took Nico's hand into his own. "If you want..." He led it down, and Nico yielded until he felt the sheath. Rex smiled as Nico gently ran his fingers around the rubber opening.

"There's no shame, otterboy." Walker said.

Nico ran his fingers all along the sheath, feeling under them. He looked up at Rex. "What happened to your balls?"

"They're there." Rex said. "Tucked in, streamlining." Nico chuckled a little. "It's how we usually swim here."

Nico used his other hand to feel himself, but could only feel the smoothness of his suit. "I don't have one of those. Wait, how are you naked? You're wearing a suit?"

Walker smiled, sitting up and rolling over to show Nico his back. "If you can tell me where a zipper is, I'll be amazed." Nico stopped his idle fondling to look, and saw nothing but unbroken smooth rubber. Walker chuckled at Nico's reaction. "Or something, yeah."

"H... ho... wha?"

"Don't ask how, don't ask why." Walker said. "Just be." He rolled back over to lay on the other side of Nico. "I saw a lot of trouble within you. I can't make it all go away, but I can bring something better out of you. But only if you want it, otterboy."

Nico looked up to Rex, who just shrugged. "I'm... I'm confused."

"I think he's inviting you to join our romp." Rex said.

"Romp?"

"It's what a group of otters are called." Rex said. "Yeah, I didn't know either."

Nico nodded slowly, then looked up at Rex. "Will it hurt?"

"Not if you don't relax." Rex said with a chuckle.

"What do I do?"

"Just be it." Rex said. "Own it. If you want it, it'll happen."

Nico felt a tear well in his eye. "Kiss me." Rex leaned in and kissed Nico gently at first. Nico pulled Rex into him, and soon their tongues were dancing together. Nico pulled Rex until Rex was almost on top of him, using his hands to carress Rex's head.

Walker smiled, and placed his hand on Nico's hip. He began to speak softly in a language neither could understand. His hand glowed faintly white as he felt the connection. Nico felt a tingle at first, then he could feel it spread from his hip radiating outward. In moments he could feel his shaft get heavy as it got harder inside of the pocket of his suit. Rex felt his muzzle tingle as he and Nico kissed passionately, and soon felt the sensation spread through him radiating downward.

Nico felt his tail twinge at first, then sensations of full control as he wrapped his tail around Rex's. He felt the webbing between his fingers and toes form. He could feel whiskers push against the inside of the mask of his suit, then the fullness of his muzzle. It wasn't just padding, it was a part of him He suddenly could taste Rex's scent, causing him to hold Rex's head with all his might. He groaned loud as he felt Rex's shaft rubbing against his belly. With a loud muffled groan Nico felt his body spasm as an orgasm rolled through him.

His grip on Rex loosened, and Rex fell to one elbow while still kissing Nico's muzzle. Walker chuckled as the two separated. "I hope you've got something left for later. I have a feeling you'll need it." Rex looked down at the dripping pool of cum he'd left on Nico's belly. "But first, I think we need to see our otterboy's true colors."

Walker produced a zipper pull, and attached it to the top of Nico's head. Nico heard the snap, and then felt as it dragged down his head and all the way to his tail. "Oh ho!" Walker said with some amusement. "I believe we have a true lake otter after all!" He pulled the mask off of Nico's head gently, letting Nico feel the cold sensations against his rubber skin. Rex smiled as he and Walker both took the black suit off of Nico. "Now, otterboy... let your heart show."

He pressed the palm of his paw against Nico's left breast. Nico craned his head back and cried in pleasure as he felt an almost burning sensation on his chest. After a moment, Walker pulled his paw away, and looked. "I knew you had it in you, otterboy."

Nico looked down on himself. He was in a dark green rubber..... no, this was him. His skin, his body. He was a green otter. Light green underbelly through his legs and tail, dark green the rest, he had a black tattoo marking on his left chest of a celtic knotwork style swimming otter under the stars. He marveled at his paws, the webbing between his fingers so sensitive. He rolled his tail playfully, then noticed the dark green shaft poking out of his sheath. It was tapered at the end, not human like at all.

Rex placed his blue paw onto it, and massaged it gently. "If you can make it to the downed tree, I'll make it worth your while." He smiled as he rolled over, and into the water, diving under and letting his tail splash the surface.

Nico looked at Walker, who just smiled. "Well, go for it, otterboy!" Nico grinned, and rolled into the water himself. Almost before he knew it, he was at the downed tree that was 3/4 the way up the rapids. When he got there, he held onto it. Rex surfaced and kissed him on the muzzle deeply.

"Hold on." Rex said. Before Nico could say anything, Rex had made his way under the water, and expertly muzzled Nico's entire shaft. Nico let out a loud cry as he felt the water rushing around his shaft, along with Rex's tongue. He dug his claws into the tree as he could barely control his reaction. Rex's tongue swirled around the tip, then down the shaft into the sheath until his whiskers were buried into Nico's thighs. In what only felt like moments he let out a loud cry that echoed through the trees as he came harder than he could ever remember.

His grip slipped and they both drifted back to the shore line. Rex surfaced, embracing Nico. They rubbed muzzles, the sensation of whisker contact making Nico tingle. When they drifted into shore, Walker was chuckling to himself. "Such an eager otterboy...." He rubbed his paw on Nico's head as the sound of thunder rumbled overhead. Nico kissed Rex, then rolled his head to kiss Walker's thigh. "Oh so eager."

Nico rolled gently, and Rex let him go. Nico placed his muzzle at Walker's crotch. "You don't have to do this, you know." Walker said.

"Yes, I do." Nico said softly. "I've... you have no idea." He sniffed the air and smiled. "And I don't know who that is but they do too." He got up on all fours, and raised his rubber tail out of reflex. "Rex? I don't want to wait anymore."

"I don't either." Rex said, kneeling behind Nico.

Nico place his muzzle around Walker. "Just be careful with your teeth." Walker warned, touching Nico's rubberized canines. Nico nodded as he sucked on the tip of the purple otter's shaft. In moments, he was sliding out of his own sheath. Nico sucked on it slowly, every head position and tongue swirl a learning experience. Rex put the tip of his shaft on Nico's tail hole and tapped on NIco's hip. Nico pulled Walker's shaft out of his mouth, and only nodded.

Rex pushed in slowly. "OOOOoohhhhhh!" Nico clawed into the ground as he felt the intrusion. He relaxed, causing Rex to push a little more. Nico felt drops on his back as rain began to fall from the sky. He arched his back slightly, giving Rex a chance to get in deeper. Soon, Rex was sliding in and out of the rubber hole, and Nico took Walker's shaft back into his muzzle.

The rain began to fall harder as the three of them became lost in their pleasure. Rex grabbed Nico's tail and pushed in hard, spasming and crying out in light whimpers with every pump of his orgasm. Walker put his paw on Nico's cheek, and tapped it twice. Nico just nodded, and Walker filled his muzzle with warm, salty seed.

Rex pulled out with a loud pop, and stayed kneeling behind Nico. He rubbed the small of Nico's back where his tail and back met. Walker stroked Nico's cheek gently, and then his ear. "Such an eager otterboy." He said. He rubbed his index finger over Nico's muzzle. "I think you'll fit right in." Nico felt the rain splash on his muzzle and all over his face, and smiled. He felt home.

(Epilogue)

Nico suited up in the dressing room, expertly pulling the zipper up, then off. He hung it on the hook next to his hoodie and padded into the main arboretum. He saw a red and pink otter laying on the downed log, one sucking the other's shaft. "Nico! Come join us!"

"In a few Gerry!" Nico said. "Walker wants to see me first!" Gerry nodded, and put a paw on the back of the pink otter's head to push him in further. Nico quickly made his way to the shore of the rapids to see his blue otter roommate on all fours with Walker kneeling behind him. He knelt next to them both.

"Oh good! You're on time." Walker said. "I thought you both should be here for this. Rex finished top ten in the mini-tri, and was first out of the water. So I think he's earned this." Walker's hand glowed as he placed the palm against Rex's left ass cheek. Rex groaned in pleasure as a dark blue diamond outline appeared from his waistline to almost his knee and wrapped around most of his outer thigh. Inside the outline the shape of ocean waves formed, then an inner diamond shape to frame it. Walker pulled his paw away, and admired his work. "Finish top ten in the Alcatraz swim and I'll put one on the other side to match it."

"Threat or promise?" Rex asked.

"Both." Walker slapped the blue otter on the ass playfully. "Keep it up, you'll have a full suit in no time." He turned to Nico as Rex rolled over to sit on the shore. "I wanted to ask if you had any goals for this season?"

"Not yet?" Nico said shyly. "I heard of a so-called polar bear event in a week but I'm not sure that's quite the same."

"Well it's a start." Walker said. "I don't want to pressure you into anything, but I have some fun ideas on your markings. And those have to be earned ya know."

"I know, I know..." Nico said as he sat down. "I might try the Alcatraz with Rex?"

"I'll help ya get ready for that." Rex said. "We got a few months, it might be enough to get ya on the finish line."

"Same here." Walker said. "I've got some new tricks up my sleeve, I can conjure fish for the rapids for you to catch and that'll help with..."

"AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!" The three stopped to look over as Gerry screamed out in pleasure. "OH FUCK!" And promptly lost his grip on the log and fell in. The pink otter looked over and chuckled, diving in after him. They didn't come up for air immediately but they could see the two of them embraced under the surface.

Nico looked away slowly "I'm curious why Phil has the markings he has on his sheath he does. Do I wa..." Walker shook his head. Nico sighed.
