An officer of the Las Vegas Police looked over a case file that had been circulating around a specific fur. He opened the manilla folder that showed a picture of the individual, a beutiful green dragoness, and standard information. Anna Tear, Age 20, Green Hair, Blue Eyes... This should be interesting. The officer flipped over to the first report of the issues revolving around her.

Ann yawned loudly stretching her green arms upward, feeling hir long wings stretch then condense into their folded position. She was a dragoness, one that worked at a small Italian restaurant in the city of Las Vegas. Unfortunately that meant that it was tough keeping a small job like this as many small restaurants have in the area. Shi waved goodbye to the driver of the bus that had taken her home. She had used that particular route for over two years now.

The young green dragonness made her way up the small flight of stairs to the door of the apartment complex and went inside. Instantly the warm air had taken up her body in a nice comforting temperature, though most other tenants of other species complained. Ann looked to the left and used her keys to open her mailbox and found that there were an assortment of bills, a magazine she had eagerly awaited for, and a letter that she had received from someone.

Ann made her way up five flights of stairs. She didn't particularly like going up that many sets of stairs, but she welcomed the exercise. Her shirt had been pulled up as she somewhat jogged up them, her body feeling overly hot for what it should be now. She walked slowly down the hallway, various tenants going about their nightly tasks including the occasional room that held two furres that seemed to be enjoying themselves. 'If only I could figure someone that was my type,' Ann thought to herself as a bit of blood leaked from her lip. She made her way over to her apartment door and fumbled with a key before opening it.

Ann let out a small gasp as there was someone inside of her apartment that she had not recognized, "Who are you? How did... What?" She spun around in a few circles trying to figure out what was going on before she placed her mail on a nearby table before letting hir claws appear. Unfortunately, the shadowed fur who was sitting on a small step-stool crumpled forward making Ann jump. The poor creature was dead and Ann nearly gagged in reflex as she had spied a large knife from one of her knife collections plunged deeply into his back, "Oh my god....!"

The crumpled fur on the floor looked up at her in his dead stare, apparently the wound was so lethal that he couldn't even close his eyes. Ann quickly backed out of her door and half gagged half screamed down two flights of stairs to the office. She quickly took her fist and hit the door repeatedly causing it to creak in protest, "Manager!" Ann was having a nervous breakdown, she couldn't believe that it had happened in her apartment and even worse, the furson who did it could still be there, "Manager!" She yelled again banging on the door. She frowned and felt scared, her knees falling against each other, as she noticed that not even a sound happened to continue on in the usually busy building.

A small change in light up the stairwell made Ann's heartbeat quicken, "H...Hello?" She bit her lower lip even harder, hir shoulders shaking, "Anyone there...?" She slowly made her way down the stairs watching both in front of her at the same time. She made it to the first floor and gently pushed on the door, "What the hell...?" She pushed again, but it refused to give way. The odd thing was, it was designed to be able to be opened in case there was an emergency.. like this. She heard a phone ring inside another room and made a dash to try and grab it, she hit the door with too much force and sunk to the floor, winded. She took a deep breath and pulled herself up holding the doorknob but slipped again as it unlatched itself and opened, the familiar ring of the phone had died and the odd silence returned.

The darkness inside had made it nearly impossible to see, so Ann tried to find the light-switch. Finding it with a small bit of effort she flipped the switch and frowned as the light remained unchanged. She took a step back and took a trembling breath. She let out a loud whimper as a loud crash from what she could tell was probably two or three floors up startled her. She sank down to her knees and thought about her predicament.

A figure seemed to be making it's way down the stairwell from the sounds she had heard, "Hello?! Who's there...!" She felt an odd sense that she should hide.. anywhere. Quickly she got up and went inside the darkened room and gently closed the door behind her, and leaned against it, sinking back down to her rump. Her eyes had trouble focusing and her blood had nearly frozen from the sudden change in plans. Anne's ears flicked to the doorway and heard the individual make his way to the door that she was hiding behind. Silently she had started praying that he would go away, even if he wouldn't hurt her. The one on the other side of the door growled quietly and opened another door the click of his shoes quieting as he must have stepped into the record office, as it was the only room that had carpet on this level. Ann waited a moment and let out a calming breath before getting up and looking out of the spy hole in the door. There was a trail of red blood in a thin line on the tiled floor, and it led up to the door that she was hiding behind and back to the records office.

Ann quietly opened the door and stepped out, almost slipping on the blood that lined up to her door. She took a look at it and shivered again closing her eyes quickly, a large dent in the wooden door had appeared outlined in blood, she thought it odd how she didn't hear it, but her eyes shot open and towards the records office as she heard a similar crash in there as she had heard before. As quietly and quickly as she could, she made her way back up the stairs to see if the Main Office was open now, sure enough the thin trail that was at her door and the records office came out of here too. She gently pushed open the door and stepped back into the wall beside the door holding a hand over her muzzle to keep her from screaming. There inside of the office "sat" Mr. Bikle the one who owned the building. She forced her eyes open to examine the now deceased and mangled fur. It made her feel ill that anyone would do this to such a sweet man as Mr. Bikle. She remembered how kind he was when she was behind on her rent, but now the poor wolf had his tail removed and hung up behind the door she had entered, his paws were placed on the paper that had been records that he took from the office on the lower floor His paws... were not attached to his body, they leaked the red essence of life all over his desk as his wrists still silently and lazily leaked the rest out on other assorted materials.

Ann looked away and felt herself ridding of the meal she had eaten earlier into a trashcan. She looked up afterwards and tried to clean herself up as best as possible, including taking a few mints. Ann made her way to the phone and picked it up, thank god there was a tone on it. As fast as she could, however missing a few times, she dialed the local emergency number. The other end picked up and Ann quickly stated, "I need help! Someone is here and killed my landlord! Now I think..." The other side of the line mocked at her with the recorded message, "You have reached the 911 emergency number, all of our operators are busy at the current time. The current estimated wait is... forty-f..." She slammed the phone down in frustration as she heard someone climbing the stairwell again. Ann quickly exited the room and dashed up three more flights to her level, hearing the one who apparently pursued her quicken his pace. She made her way to her apartment and pushed open the door only to push it closed behind her and lock it as best she could.

There was a soft thud against the door that made Ann cry in fear. She made her way to her window and found that it was sealed permanently. The bastard had welded it shut. She closed her eyes and took a breath her shaking body huddling over herself. Ann made her way to the kitchen where she took a knife from her previously incomplete set and held it close to her breast, "I have no choice," shi complained weakly and she made her way into a dark corner of the main room where the entrance was. The other side of the door released a shuddering thump as the one on the other side apparently started his attempts at forcing his way in. Ann gripped the handle of the knife tighter and waited as her insides melted.

The door hinges finally gave way and and she saw the one who pursued her, a tall skinny tiger, his pattern not too clear in the darkness and mask of blood. His grin was terrifying in itself. In his right paw the light from the hallway glinted from the apparently cleaned weapon of murder that he brought. Ann frowned and gulped down her fear ready to strike when he got too close. The fur turned towards the kitchen and slowly started walking towards it, his paw steps evenly deafening in contrast to the silent room. Ann let out a small whimper which caused the passing tiger stop and turn his head in her direction, his light blue eyes striking through the room right at her. She nearly fumbled her only defense as she brought it out in front of her, "S... Sta...." Shi couldn't finish her sentence as the insane one slowly advanced apon her. Ann waited for him to move inside where she could catch him before the tiger dropped the knife and put a paw inside of his bloodstained coat.

"Ann," said the tiger in a depressed voice, "Do.. Do you.. Remember me...?" Ann shook her head as she crouched slightly as the tiger pulled a familiar blade, "I'm... hurt... Ann.... I gave everything for you... and you had to turn me... away...." Ann flicked hir eyes up and an image started to appear. "You promised to me... that you would stay with me... forever..." Ann instantly pulled her head back in recognition, "Kyle?! What... What the hell are you doing?"

"G...Getting my promise, Ann..."

"I promised that before you tried to kill me!"

"B... But, Ann... That was the p..promise..."

Anne shook her head and swallowed once more before taking a step forward and the tiger laughed, "Ann, are you really... going to kill me.. and break your.. p..promise?"

Ann quickly took a charge at the tiger, before he noticed tried to knock him over without hurting him. The tiger was knocked back into a wall and let out a shudder of pain as he tried to take a swing at Ann, "Keep... Your promise!," he wailed. Ann quickly brought her knife up and stuck it in his ribs eliciting a loud snarl of pain from her former boyfriend. He tried to bring his own blade down on her as well but only caught her left shoulder, in which time and made sure to plunge her bloodstained knife deeply into the heart tissue that kept most alive. The tiger let out a small weak howl as his wielding paw dropped the blade and his body slowly sunk to the floor away from Ann.

Ann shuddered and kicked him once to make sure he was really down. She felt her eyes water up from everything as the blade she held dropped to the floor and the hand holding it pulled up to her bleeding shoulder. She slowly trudged out of her apartment and went down to the tenant's room on the first floor, picking up the phone and dialing a number of a close friend. The other end picked up, "Hello?" The voice on the other end was soft and was one of Ann's best friends. "Rachel?! I need you to pick me up..."

"What happened hun? Are you alright?"

"Yes.. for now.. quickly please...?"

"Where are you?"

Ann told Rachel where she was and hung up before trying to open the front doors again. She took a pipe from the maintanence shelter underneath the stairs and used it to try and pry open the doors. When they opened her friend, a fox looked up at her from the car with a confused look that suddenly turned to shock when she saw the injuries, and jumped out running up to Ann and attempting to help her down to the car, "We gotta get you to a hospital hun!" Ann nodded and took a seat in the car, watching the road as Rachel ran in her heels to get in. As soon as they were on the way Ann truly felt safe again, and fell asleep.
