#8 of Then and Now

So, I'm perfectly aware for how long I've been away - that is, completely away. I've neither had the time to sit down and relax, nor check up on SF these days. Classes being a bother and all, but I won't go into that for fear of being a boring old sod. I'll apologize in advance for this chapter being so damn short, but I've literally only just realised that I've had it written since before I vanished into thin, fur-speckled air. Anyway, the next chapter is far, far, FAR longer, already in excess of 4,000 words, so just bear with me and poke me if I start to drift off again. A guy needs friends to kick him back into reality once in a while, no?

If you spot any mistakes, don't hesitate in pointing them out. Constructive criticism is appreciated, as always, and if you're new to this series, then the first chapter is here --> http://www.sofurry.com/view/375904

Chapter 1

The next day, I was the first to wake up. I carefully rubbed the sleep out of my eyes with one hand, the other being occupied with hugging the nude wolf next to me. She looked ever so peaceful - hair frazzled through the night, curled up just a little bit, a smile on her muzzle and her arms wrapped around my chest.

A look out the window reflected my mood perfectly: the sun was shining lazily on the horizon, a beacon of hope and happiness. Some small gray clouds floated past it, representing those flickers of doubt that rested deep within my mind. While some questions I had were already answered, the ones that remained nagged and nagged me to no end. Why did Leanne leave me? Why didn't she come back to her parents after that argument? But, most importantly of all, what was the reason behind the grimace and chest-clutch?

It could have been left to the fact that both of us were smokers. I don't know why, but something deep within me told me it was worse. Still, there'd be a time for revelations later.

My watch claimed that it was ten in the morning, about time for both of us to get up and for me to buy those plane tickets. As slowly as I could, I leaned over and kissed Li on the lips. Her eyes opened lazily, as they do when the person behind them is being brought out of a deep slumber. They blinked twice, then settled on mine.

I felt a paw on the back of my head just as I started to pull away. It didn't let me get far, instead making me come back and continue. Li giggled through the second kiss, the sweetest sound I've ever heard. She let my head loose after a while, but not my body.

"Good morning..." She whispered.

"Hey..." I whispered back, reaching up to run my hand through Li's wave of flame red hair. Her ears twitched, the pleasure this got out of her evident by the way she leaned into my hand.

"Oooh... I love it when you do that..." Leanne murmured.

I had an idea. "Your hair's a bit frazzled, sweetie... Would you let me change that?"

"Hm?" Those lupine ears perked up, their owner obviously a little confused.

"Wait here." I slipped out of bed, pulling on a pair of shorts, and trudged to the bathroom. There was a comb sitting on the shelf, which an... Acquaintance left as a token of gratitude to me. I had no intention to discuss her with Leanne, and if the question came down, I'd make up some story about it.

Returning to the bedroom, my wolf saw the comb. She was bouncing with excitement almost instantly.

"Oh! Yes, please! Please comb my hair, Rich!" She yipped, those rather large but nonetheless lovely breasts bouncing with her. I had to think of less... Arousing things while sitting down on the bed, leaning against the headboard, with my legs spread. Leanne, shamelessly nude, scooted in to lean against my chest and I immediately started to brush her hair. My strokes were gentle - I made sure to undo any stuck-together hair with the least force possible.

Brush after brush, Leanne mellowed out completely into my chest. After half an hour, her hair was silky and straight. She leaned her head on me, gazing at me with her deep emerald eyes.

"You're so good to me... Nobody, apart from family, has ever done that for me..."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Hm... Well... How would you like it if I did this each and every morning? And then before bed?"

There was a kind of shock in my wolf's eyes. "You would do that?"

I leaned down and nuzzled her nose. "Of course. I'd do anything to make you happy, Li-li."

Leanne moved, swivelling around, then slid forward and sat in my lap, straddling my legs. Her paws found my cheeks and held me there. The shock was gone, replaced by utter, devoted love.

Then, I received the best kiss I'd ever gotten. It was soft and warm, yet electrifying in a way. More emotions that words could describe were exchanged in that single bit of contact, and everything I needed to know was told to me.

I will never leave you. I'll love you forever.

After several minutes, Leanne pulled away. I reached out and wrapped my arms around her, hugging her body to mine.

"I... Love... You." She whispered.

"I love you too, Leanne. With all my heart, and every shred of my existence."

Li gave me a squeeze and let go, still smiling.

"Come on." I said, doing my best to keep my eyes from wandering below neck-level. "Let's go sort out those tickets."

To my despair, Leanne refused to get dressed. While I trudged downstairs with my laptop, wearing a modest T Shirt and jeans, she followed me completely naked. Although this was a heavenly sight to behold, it didn't help while I was trying to concentrate. Especially when I needed to give the website my card details for the money to go through.

I took out my card, only to have it snatched away.

"Eh?" I asked. Li settled in my lap, pushing the laptop onto my stomach while I lay across the couch. Her breasts hung over the lid, and I was in a dilemma as to what demanded my attention more.

"Oh, it's okay." She giggled. "I'll read this out for ya. You just relax and type away."

"Uh... Sure..."

Li recited the numbers, slowly and clearly. Completely composed, unlike the attire she was not wearing. A few clicks later, the payment was done and I sent the tickets to the printer. That was the moment the laptop left my lap in the paws of Li and was replaced with the wolf herself.

"Haaai." She smiled. Incredibly playful, this wolf of mine. "Uh-oh. One of us isn't naked yet."

"That's because he wants to not be late to the airport!" I pounced, very suddenly, and tackled Leanne. She landed on the couch back-first, going into hysterics as I started tickling her all over.

I felt Li's legs wrap around my waist and lock in place. Then her paws grabbed my hands and laid them on her chest. A happy tear, from laughing, slid down her smiling face.

"Please, Richard? One time, before we leave?" She asked. I checked my watch. Two hours until we absolutely had to leave. Still, I wanted to play with the wolf a little more.

"Oh, I don't know... What if we end up being late?"

Li whined and gave my waist a squeeze between her legs.

"Really, Leanne. I'm not sure..."

Then her paws went into my jeans. Playfulness went out the window.

"Okay!" I shuddered. "I'm not gunna make you wait!"

"Hooray!" She giggled, a deep look of accomplishment about her.
