Sleepless

This one came to me as I sat in bed trying to fall asleep after I had a pretty neat dream of the same subject matter over a couple of nights. It was quite fun to sit there and analyze how I longed for this dream to come back.

I lie in bed,

Pillow under head,

Waiting for the weaver of dreams

To carry me off on winds of steam.

To dream the draconian dream,

Where my body is cut and clean.

Lovers and loves,

Offer more protection than gloves.

But I am sleepless,

Trying to attain the draconian dream.

Alone? Physically, it will never be,

A flight of five given to me.

But, heart wise, of course,

Simple knowledge be the source.

Thus I hope for the draconian dreams,

Allowing me to break the seems.

There, I can love and be loved

But hardly shoved.

There, strength be not my master,

No, I control it, for I am master.

Sleepless, I may seem,

But all I want is draconian dream.
