My Knight in Shinning Armour

Chapter 18: Damn interruptions...

The sun shone, casting its bright vibrant rays through the window and into the room. A mouse struggled and stirred, not wanting to get up. But it appeared the sun would not give him that much, and with a soft grunt, Alex's eyes fluttered open slowly. He drowsily squinted and tried to sit up, but felt constricted.

Ah yes, it was coming back with a smile. Today was wedding day and he was being kept down by his fiancé. Alex glanced down at the pair of pure white furred paws holding him tightly. Another glance behind him reunited his eyes with his mate of mates.

Alex giggled softly at the soft snoring coming from the bat. He tried his best to corkscrew himself around and face his lover without waking him. His muzzle moved closer touching David's sleeping one and planted a gentle kiss on it, earning a soft dreamy smile.

Alex placed a paw on the other's neck and softly caressed it, getting an even brighter dream smile and a soft murr. Alex smiled wide from ear to ear and planted another kiss on the cheek. Then he wrapped his arms around the other dreaming fur and nuzzled into him.

"Davy...?" Alex softly whispered near the bat's ear, no response.

"David..." just a little stir

"Daaaavvvviiiddddd" Alex dragged the name directly into David's ears. With a little grunt and a groan, David opened his eyes slowly.

"Hmm?"

Alex blinked slightly and discovered something different "Your eyes are red"

"Oh? No big, its like yours turning gold" David replied with a lazy smile.

Alex smiled again and nuzzled some more "Today's the day"

"Yep" David's grip around the mouse tightened slightly "Historical moment, an angel marrying a demon"

Alex chuckled "I guess, but the main fact is" he paused "Wait for it...wait for it" he heavily smooched David and half squealed mouse-like "We're getting married!"

David looked a bit dazed "Yea" he got that dreamy look again "Damn that was one hell of a kiss"

" You'll get a better one when the guy says 'you may kiss the bride'" he paused with a giggle "Oops, I mean groom'"

David smiled wily "You can be the bride, sure you can pull it off if you wear the veil"

Alex shook his head "Uh-uh, I'm not gonna wear a dress, a thong yes, but not a dress"

David shrugged and leaned in for his own little kiss "Suit yourself dear...no pun intended"

Alex closed his eyes for a second then attempted to get up "We should probably start get-" and found a finger on his lip.

"No, today's gonna be completely hectic, lets just relax until we really have to get up" David softly whispered. "M'kay?"

Alex quickly contemplated his decision, though he knew it was pretty much pointless to disagree, but felt like trying anyway "We can relax on our honey moon"

"Oh, I don't think we'll be 'relaxing' per say" David shot him a sexy look

"Naughty bat" Alex muttered as he snuggled into David, already lost the battle before it began, and rested his head on the strong chest he had placed it on many times before.

"We gotta make up for lost time, don't you think?" David said seductively while a paw relaxingly rubbed over Alex's back.

"That would take too long sweetheart, we'd never catch up...but it would be fun to try" giggled the mouse with a cute look.

They entered silence and thought. Alex murred faintly and leaned more into the protective hug, getting comfy. A wedding, that's a big thing indeed, and Alex had taken the role of the female in the issue of planning it. You know how it so, some girls want their wedding to be perfect and annoy their partner with all their fancy frills that don't really need to be there for a wedding to happen. David pulled through though, letting Alex have him moment, playing the role of the considerate male who didn't want to lose the wedding over preparations for the actually wedding. The smallest things could set things off.

David sighed softly with content and rested his head above Alex's, leaving the mouse's head under and facing David's neck. Alex sniffed lightly and sighed shortly after the first. Alex was happy, the happiest he could be. Despite his life and previous claims of the happiest moment of his life, he believed that was still to come, but now... he was happy. It almost seemed too good to be true. Do things like this happen in such a perfect sequence? Isn't something wrong supposed to happen?

Oh wait, Alex was forgetting all the problems he had had. His father falling ill, himself getting hit with a car, his previous life style and the whole angel and demon issue. But still, one can't really control life, can you? Things just happen, and you take them as you get them. Alex got David and David got Alex.

Alex smiled; he thought it was a pretty fair life trade. He began humming something softly, listening to his own gentle tune. David cast an eye down, quickly recognising the song being hummed and smiled himself, humming along.

Two figures, cloaked by the lack of light in the room, spoke in an unknown location.

"...Are we ready for today's operation?" A deep dominant voice sounded from one side.

"Yes sir, all preparations have been made" Another deep but not as dominant voice came in from opposite side.

If you were watching from the sidelines, you might be able to see that the one that sounded more dominant was sitting on something, and the other was kneeling in front of it. All identify was shrouded, small candles doing little to illuminate the room.

"Excellent" Said the dominant voice "We shall not allow them to ban together and cause havoc in the world, or even the chance of reproduction"

There was a pause, before the other spoke hesitantly

"...With all respect sir...I'm not sure they will be able to -reproduce-, concerning the fact that both are male..."

"We are not fully sure just -what- these two are capable of, all we know it is a threat to all if it were to be used recklessly." The voice stopped briefly "Filthy beings...they must be exterminated at all costs...its worse they are both males...blasted fag monstrosities"

"Yes sir..."

The rest of that day literally flew by in chaos. But lets go before the wedding. Things still needed to be finalised. What with clothing and decorations put into play and such. Alex's mother seemed to be handling it quite well though, as though she did it for a living... which she did not, but had an extremely good knack for it. Alex had commented in saying she should be a wedding planner.

They had scheduled the wedding fairly early, but not so early that people were in a bad tired mood once they got there. Alex and David just wanted to get it over with. Besides what Alex had shown, they did not really WANT all this fancy things. They just wanted to be together, it's all that mattered to them.

Though, before Alex actually knew it, there he was, standing in waiting to enter the church. He looked down at the smart black tuxedo suit he was wearing, and the small bouquet of roses he had chosen to carry with him.

He looked forward, the other pairs of people involved in the wedding, family members looking rather joyful. He then turned his head sideways, and saw his father standing tall, turning his head to his son and smiling proudly at him.

And then it came, the 'here comes the bride' music started playing; echoing through his C shaped ears, in organ like you see in movies. Alex felt nerves go on end, feeling thrilled and nervous at the same time. He watched the other pairs step into the wedding, walking slowly and Alex wasn't sure he was able to walk as slow as one was supposed to. He wanted to run, sprint to his love and embrace him.

But the time came to pace himself, his father being his guild. The inner church came into view. With the carpet and the flowers and the rows of people staring at him eagerly. Alex noticed how his father, had it been possible, looked even more proud of his son, walking with a bright smile plastered on his face for the world to see.

The mouse felt a blush come on, smiling between happy and weak. Casting his eyes around, he recognised his family members. Some of which were suppressing their disapproval of homosexuality and forcing a look of happy on them, for the sake of Alex's parents. Everyone respected the elder mouse, being the first born of his brother's and sisters and always the one to stick up for them. If their brother's son was marrying another male, they had to show their respect whether they liked the idea or not. There were some people he did not recognise, and Alex assumed this was David's end of people happy or forcing a smile for him.

Getting closer, he noticed a few closer relations. The first was Sam and Jeff, who gave him thumbs up. Seated next to them were Daren and Nicholas, nodding towards him. He noticed Stephanie and her boyfriend too, waving a short friendly wave at him. His mother had tears in her eyes, hanky and all, fighting the urge to burst her tear duct's bank of salty liquid. She gave him a cheerful smile as well.

Alex then looked forward at his husband to be, David the handsome albino bat. Damn he looked hawt in that suit. He looked so...sophisticated...and sexy tied together. That beautiful loving smile Alex treasured so much was on his face. He was waiting...

They reached the end of the carpet, and his father unlatched his arm from his son. He turned sizeways to face Alex and patted his shoulder, then embraced him with a bear hug

Softly he whispered "I'm proud of you son...I hope you're happy for as long as you live...and I love you"

Alex smiled brighter a bit and whispered back "Thanks dad...and I love you too...but you gonna have to let go now..."

Alex's father detached himself and signalled with his head to join David, talking a step out of the carpet.

Alex breathed in and made his way to his love, his sun, his moon, his solar system and his universe. Holding the bouquet of flows to his chest, he turned to face his mate, smiling the same loving smile he was getting.

Silence fell in the room, the organ stopped and all attention was focused in front. The couple stared longingly into each other's eyes as the priest, a rather elderly looking black bear, began "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here to day, to join Alex Trout...and David Blackberry in holy matrimony" the priest glanced at the two, smiling like a priest would in these kinds of services, seeing a young couple, gay or not, locking eyes with each other.

"We-" and then there was a explosion...

Everyone looked back at the direction of its origin, and found that the door to the church had been burst open, it now being in shabby pieces of wood. Men started filing into the church. It was a small amount, but they looked like police...that needed a fashion sense. They looked like something out a sci-fi movie. That included the weapons they were carrying...

To say the minimum, everyone was shocked...and confused to no end.

David was growling, Alex noticed this. Whenever David showed his serious face, something was not right. Not right in the urgent way.

The men of various species stood there, aiming there arsenal straight at the couple, still someone shouted "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU!?"

Everyone turned their heads. It was Alex's dad. He looked ever more enraged than David as he stepped in front of the couple. Clearly this was pissing him off quite a bit.

One of the men lowered their technological gun. They all had goggles on their face, but it was still able to tell that he was a grey fox "That is none of your concern, old man"

The remaining parents of the two boys stepped up and joined Alex's father. It was not in Alex's mother's nature to look mad, but now she looked positively scary. She must have taken it a bit personal if someone just barged into her own son's wedding and said that it 'doesn't concern them'. Both David's dads seemed offended as well.

Behind them, David softly whispered, "Alex, we need to go like pronto"

Alex blinked at him "But..."

"Trust me Alex, we need to vanish from here" then both turned there head forward as a command was made...

"Stand aside, or be killed" The fox spoke in an ordering tone. Too bad it wasn't having an effect.

"Over my dead body! You're NOT hurting my son!" Alex's mother shrieked.

"I repeat, move, or be killed. I am doing this for all of your safety" the fox commanded

"Since when is threatening to kill us for our own safety?" Alex's father demanded, he wanted answers to his confusion. People were getting edgy on their seats, not daring to move.

"Targets Alex Trout and David Blackberry, to be terminated before they harm the Earth"

There was an even bigger silent mental confusion going on now. Alex's eyes widened, realising just what the situation at hand was about. He turned his head slightly and nodded at David, who nodded back.

"Say what?" A new voice, well double voice, entered the little spar of words. Both dalmations, Sam and Jeff, jumped out from their seats and formed another barrier to the couple on the carpet, just lower than the first.

"Alex Trout, accomplished Demi-Angel and David Blackberry, powerful Demi-Demon must be dispatched for the sake of the world"

There was a long pause of trying to figure things out. No one had the slightest clue what the men in X-men suits were talking about. None understood it except for the couple themselves. They exchanged looks once more, then played out there plan of action. The atmosphere was a rather unpleasant one indeed, so thick a knife could cut it.

Eventually the silence was broken once more with another rage originated shout "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?" Daren and Nicholas appeared next to the dalmations, the first one coming from Daren, the second coming from the roo "You guys need help seriously"

The grey fox grunted and began looking aggravated, shifting his stance and getting ready to shoot anyway. All of his 'crew' were getting edgy as well "Your final warning, move or be killed..."

But to no use, not one of the furs in the way moved one inch, determined to protect their friend and loved one.

"You got any idea what these nut jobs are talking ab-" Alex's dad had started saying, turning he head around eventually and stopping right there. One thing was now obvious to him; his son and his fiancé were missing. The spot where they stood minutes ago was completely empty.

"Alex?" he blinked and quickly searched with his eyes, but to no avail, his son and future son in law was gone "David? Alex?"

Alex's mother turned her head as well, and went wide-eyed at the discovery "Alex! Where did he go!" looking at her husband, who shook his head in lack of knowledge.

"Hmm...so they escaped..." he sighed and turned to his men "Fall back to base, we have to find their new position" and just as mysteriously as they had entered, they left, leaving only a broken door as evidence that they were in fact there.

Silence held tight for only a few seconds more, before panic started. People rushed out of there seats, some catching the breath they were holding, some rushing to comfort the parents and aid the parents searching desperately for their off spring. So many questions were left unanswered...

What just happened?

Who were those men?

What were they talking about?

Why were they out to get the couple?

But the question, the most important question to everyone...

Where had the couple vanished?

Far away, David leaned against a tree trunk. They had stealthily fled from the wedding, and few the rest of the way to where they were now. The bat's eyes were upward, his arms were crossed and his wings were still transcended partly, slowly shrinking. The treetops above shielded the sun from them with their giant natural canopy of leaves. Small trickles and rays of light managed to get through, shining on various spots.

Slowly, David tilted his head to look at his mate, dreading what he would have to see. Sure enough, Alex was sitting on a fallen log; his face hung low, his arms to his sides and his feet together. The bouquet of flowers was still being clutched in his paws, tightly gripping onto them for any support. Then he let go, and they fell to the ground with a tattered little rustle. David frowned heavily, that's the part he dreaded, seeing his love sad.

Cautiously he padded his way to the log and sat down beside his mouse. He hesitated, contemplating if he should try or not. His answer bolted into him; no way he wasn't going to do anything. He'd be a failure as a mate if he didn't.

He leaned in a bit, putting an arm around Alex's back and spoke softly " We might have to stay here for a little while till the heat cools down a bit...you ok?"

There was a pause, before a brief emotionless nod

"You sure?" the bat persisted on

Another pause, before a headshake

"Need a hug?"

A nod.

David needed no further encouragement; caringly he pulled Alex into his lap and embraced him warmly, letting his love flow out. Alex hugged back and sniffled, his head still hung down as he clinged to his love in much need of support.

"Its ok to cry love...you'll feel better" David whispered

And Alex let his tear ducts work. He did not burst into tears, he just cried. Salty teardrops streaked their way down his furry cheeks, landing on David's chest. They had changed clothes, thinking staying in their previous ones would not be fitting. All David wore was some shorts and Alex a plain t-shirt and shorts.

David stroked and petted the crying mouse in his arms, determined to make him feel better no matter what the cost "There there there, its gonna be ok, you'll see"

A few more sniffle and silent sobs later, Alex stopped crying. He whispered "Why...?Why does this have to happen to us? What did we ever do to them to deserve this...?"

David frowned again "I don't know love, but whatever their deal is, its their problem, not ours." He paused and picked up the fallen flowers, placing them back in Alex's paws. They seemed to fix themselves right back to normal once in his paws again, glimmering as if dew was still on them. "You want me to sing something for ya? It might cheer ya up a bit?"

Alex nodded, resting his head on the chest of his mate, having done so many, many times before. David rested his head on top of Alex's rocking him gently as he hummed a tune. The same tune they had hummed together that very morning. Its was Alex's favourite song. The bat opened his mouth a softly sang into the ear of his beloved:

"You're a falling star

You're the getaway car

You're the line in the sand

When I go too far

You're the swimming pool

On an August day

And you're the perfect thing

To say...

And you play it coy

But its kinda cute

And when you smile at me

You know exactly what you do

Baby don't pretend

That you don't know its true

Cause you can see it

When I look at you

And in this crazy life

And through these crazy times

Its you, its you, you make me sing

You're every line, your every word, your everything...

You're a carousel

You're a wishing well

And you light me up

When you ring my bell

You're a mystery

You're from outer space

You're every minute

Of my everyday

And I can't believe

Oh, that I'm your man

And I get to kiss your baby

Just because I can

Whatever comes our way

Oh, we'll see it through

And you know

That's what our love can do

And in this crazy life

And through these crazy times

Its you, its you, you make me sing

You're every line, your every word, your everything

So la la la la la la la

So la la la la la la la

And in this crazy life

And through these crazy times

Its you its you, you make me sing

You're every line, your every word, your everything....

You're every song

And I sing along

Cause you my every thing...

Yea yea...

So la la la la la la la

So la la la la la la la la la la la..."

Al through the song, David rocked and soothed Alex the best he could. He smiled as he sang and hummed the last tune. When he looked down, Alex had a weak but happy smile on his face, making David's smile brighten.

"There ya go..." he spoke cheerfully "I promise love, that whoever those freaks were that crashed our wedding, they gonna pay for it."

He leaned forward and kissed his mate deeply on the lips. Tongues rolled around in the locked muzzles, pure love flowing out of the interaction. Murrs worked their way out of the closed maws. Paws gliding where they wished over the other's body.

"I'll help that" Alex whispered with a soft sigh after

"I love you"

"I love you too"

And that's part 18

Beg pardon for the time waited for it
