Relic

A tale of ancient evils

written by: Evan Le'Noir a.k.a. Ez-Bone

Co-writer: Michael Ezaiany a.k.a. Ez

This is the basics of what to expect of the story and some things that may not have been covered before, all is here especially the basis of the settings and plot that you will need to know for now.

Story title: Relic

Time setting: present (personal documentation)

Important Place(s): Small town- St. Charles, Metropolis- North City, and Mid-sized city- Dunk'nvoort

Plot: An arising ancient evil has awakened and is now set on doing what it once tried a long time ago, dominating the world, starting out small and working its way up, slowly killing off humanity as fast and swift as it can.

Misc.: Humans will be involved in this story too as it is based from realism, so yes, humans will and do exist in this story. So if your fursona has a hatred or disliking of humans, don't be afraid to show it IC for it will not only prolong the story by making it a story within a story, but it will also make it more interesting that before if there is not only a war of survival happening, but a battle between humans and anamorphic beings (this sighting was only thought up due to some people who are strong on their furry or therein beliefs)

  1. Phase Overview

phase 1: story starts out as a personal recorded documentary from myself, Evan a.k.a. Ez-Bone. On the top floor of an office building and looking down upon the destroyed city known as West City after fleeing my home town on the out skirts of West City, St. Charles. The city lie in ruins due to the unknown creatures that lurk about during the night, even as I record the documentary, a fleet of strange creatures at the building's ground floor bash and bang at the doors for entree into our safe heaven. That is when I basically start to tell the story of how it happened in first person view.

Phase 2: after the introductions to phase 1 have been made and the tale has begun, that's when things rather calm down at the beginning of phase 2. This will be the longest of phases since this will be mainly the support of the story and where most of the action can be found. A lot of questions will be asked but not answered, or at least not fully nor to a full understanding. There will also be a lot of mind shattering moments and situations that will bind the starring cast to really think before they act (more will be explained soon). 3 more people will be introduced as said in the journals on FA.

Phase 3: last phase and kind when things start to come to an understanding. The tale begins to merg back to the current happenings, in other words; where they left off in phase 1. This phase will be mildly long as to try and rap up things for good or try out for a sequel depending on the actions chosen by the cast themselves.

  1. Plot Interaction Method

If you haven't already heard from myself, a peer, cast member/actor(ess), or a fan, the plot is going to be of the interaction kind. Now how this is going to work is simple, the story goes on and on until an actor(ess) gets into a mind boggling situation. The actor(ess) must then decide what to do from the choices the narrator gives, which will be a max of 4.

Ex: Evan is surrounded on all sides by the vicious monsters. Each one ready for the kill and will stop it nothing to get what they want. Evan backs further until he corners himself, now at complete mercy of the coniferous creatures. Just as he thought it was all over and basically gave into his demise, he began to lower himself into the corner, on the floor. But to his luck, he finds a gun, a .45 Colt "Aw damn, y'all some dead suck'as now!" he grin as he slowly pick up the gun and aim to fire, but to his surprise, there was only one bullet. His jaw gaps slightly in 'awe' and eyes widen with slight sign of tears building up as his heart start to race and body start to tremble... ADRENALIN

Take a chance and fire the one shot. Nail one of the creatures and risk that open chance to get out safe and sound despite how many there are.

Don't take the shot, saving it for later and try to fend off the creatures by becoming very aggressive and reckless.

Fright by the monsters gets the best of you, huddling up into yourself, eyes closing and accepting your doomed fate as you prey for a savor.

If you still do not understand, another good example would be Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Whenever Jill got into a tight or life threatening situation, the screen would flash and everything slows down- adrenalin. You then hear her heart beating then you get two, or sometimes three, choices at the bottom of the screen. Now, you don't have leisure time to answer for a person's adrenalin level can only allow so much thinking time before action is needed. If the player takes too long to decide, the game's AI system (in this story's situation, the AI is none other than myself) decides for you and you have to go that selected path.

If the actor(ess) chooses their path, then they have the opportunity to either make a good ending, bad ending, or a sequel, it all depends on the actions made and the team effort behind it.

  1. Understanding the Story's Rules

Now we must make sure you understand some things about this story and how things will be done.

First, have fun with this but in a mature manner please. No extreme horse play or play that you KNOW certainly would offend someone.

When it comes time to make a choice, you have a four/4 day grace to make it before I make the decision (or the actor/actress contacts me directly for some difficulties they may be having for whatever reason) for you, in which the story will continue until a pressure moment falls upon you again.

DO NOT make assumptions and get upset at me when you are dead wrong about them. Predicting the story isn't really a 'no no' but it's rather not possible since it is being written in documentation form (most of the story), so in short, the story is being written as people make their choices so it is a live written story/document.

Deception may occur from other teammates, partners, and/or other groups/parties/individuals that may be fighting for survival in this epic story. If this happens to you, and leads to the death or any injury to yourself (you, the actor/actress) or any unwanted outcome at all, DO NOT get upset over it! I will do what I can to make it fair and have the other person try and counter-act what is about to (what has) happen(ed) to the victim, yourself. If I have to, I will resort to a personal dual RP that will be added to the story (more will be explained if you do not understand).

Lastly, have fun! Lots and lots of it! :3

  1. Deception

Deception is simply when your party member, teammate, and/or promised helping individual turns against you, simply put, back-stabbing. I can not guarantee this will not happen, in fact, this story is based off realism so the actors are only doing what they would really do if given the certain choices given and/or that seem logical in their point of view for survival. If deception occurs, injury, life threatening situations, alienation, sacrifice(s), or even sudden (or certain) death can, could, and/or will happen.

Upon noticing any form of deception amongst the actors/actresses, I will start to focus on the brawl for the following reasons:

The action scenes it would cause from the disagreements= interesting and heart pounding moments.

The chance of the actions resulting in major plot change depending on the actor/actress and how important his/her role is.

The chance for two (or more) rivals or enemies to resolve their differences.

The chance for an understanding of a misunderstood previous action made that led to the current scene of deception.

Also, if the deception scene goes on longer than expected (or than it should) I will begin to suspect there is OOC (Out Of Character) aggravation going on between some of the actors/actresses and WILL halt the story's progression until the problem is resolved. Immaturity is 0 tolerance and will be dealt with quickly as not to hold everyone else up from reading/participating in the story.

With that said, if you still feel singled out or mistreated in any way or are simply uncomfortable with an outcome (or how things are leading), contact me directly and the matter will be resolved in a personal three person (or more, depending on how many people are involved) RP on a site or game that we can all meet to do the RP, me being the third as not only a referee but the narrator to keep things within bounds of the story. There will be a max of a 4 day grace for the RP as some scenes require much attention should it go as far as what I like to call 'Deception-Breaker'. If for what ever reason you still do not like or cooperate with the outcome of the personal Rping to resolve the issue then I will have to remove you from the story.

  1. Deception-Breaker

To make sure everyone understands what a deception-breaker is; it is simply the resolving of a problem that broke out between random people in the story, throughout the story. Should a problem arise, and it can't come to a resolve within the story, I will take the disagreeing persons and make a meeting date for everyone to meet. Meanwhile, the story may be halted depending on how vital the actor(s)/actress(es) are (or have become) to the story.

As for the ones that have been pulled out, a meeting will be scheduled to meet on either an IM messenger or a game that will allow us to RP (one good one I know of so far is Furcadia, if you know any others, please do share them ^^ ). Once the meeting day has come, we will meet there, me being the referee and narrator to keep things within bounds of the story and also to monitor the two or few that currently have the problem. Once resolved, the story will resume (if it hasn't been paused) and select lines from the RP will be added. In most cases of a Deception-Breaker, the entire RP will be added to the story and edited (if needed).
