Prologe-A New Gadget
#1 of Sonic Apocalypse
This is my first story, so I hope that you will enjoy.
Its been six months since the Space Colony ARK was utterly destroyed. The rivals agreed that the space ship should be demolished to seal the chaotic creature inside. They also agreed to never speak of it again. No trace of Shadow was ever found and he was presumed dead. Sonic and Tails went back to Metropolis and Knuckles returned to his former job, guarding the Master Emerald on Angel Island. Rouge disappeared after they arrived back on Earth and Dr. Robotnik went to the desert to begin his next evil plan...
A streak of light appeared in the sky above Dr. Ivo Robotnik's newest evil lair. One patrolling robot informed Dr. Robotnik about it. Looking though his large telescope, Dr. Robotnik discovered that it was in fact a meteor.
"KA-BOOOOOM!" The meteorite had fallen just about a mile away from Dr. Robotnik. The ground shoke violently with the explosion. He sent a couple of robots to the site to gather the meteorite and return back to him. They did as they were instructed to do, and brought back the meteorite. Dr. Robotnik eyed the meteorite and said, "Ah! My grandfather had written in his journals about a special kind of meteorite which was imbued with abilities that would either control or subdue the powers of the Chaos Emeralds. The Chaos Emerald Shrine on the ARK was made of that same material. He called it the Obsidian Emerald. The only way that it could be distinguished from other meteorites was the fact that it glowed a deep green." He stared at the meteorite and noticed the glow, "This meteorite practically screams green! So now I can finally use the plans for the ultimate machine that I found on the space colony ARK. Robots, go back to your duties, you are relieved." He finished. The robots saluted him and went back to patrolling the grounds. Dr. Robotnik let out a meniacle laughter as he began constructing the machine.
Unfortunately, when he had completed his machine he only had enough Obsidian Emerald to build a small weapon and a prism for the Master Emerald. He constructed both. The weapon used the controlling ability of he Obsidian Emerald to turn any person into a mind controlled zombie. Alas, the "hypno-ray', as he called it, only had two charges. Dr. Robotnik knew who they were for.
Meanwhile, on Angel Island, Knuckles sat in front of the Master Emerald.
"Throughout my life I have been guarding this Master Emerald and Dr. Robotnik or sombody else always keeps trying to steal it. I want to just let them have it, but I always feel that I have to protect it even to I don't want to." Knuckles said with his eyes partially closed. He heard a strange whirring noise and stood up. "WHAT THE HE...." He started but was cut off by Dr. Robotnik.
"Say cheese, Knuckles!" Dr. Robotnik yelled as he pointed the hypno-ray at him. A multicolored beam shot from the gun straight at Knuckles.
"Ahhhh-" Knuckles' scream was cut off. His eyes turned to black and he stared up to Dr. Robotnik. He knelt down on one knee and said, "Master, I am your loyal servant. What is it that you ask of me?"
"Bring me the Master Emerald and start searching for the seven Chaos Emeralds." He directed Knuckles, who grabbed the Master Emerald. "Now I can go to that pesky little hedgehog, Sonic, as soon as I set up this Master Emerald as my power source. Muhahaha." He cackled as the red Echinda hopped into the giant hovering machine. They went back to Dr. Robotnik's lair. Knuckles left Dr. Robotnik alone so that he could find the seven Chaos Emeralds. He knew that they were scattered after the space colony ARK event. He went to the ruins just near the edge of the desert. He search around trying to find any trace of the Emerald that he had sensed while he was hovering over it with Dr. Robotnik. Knuckles found it in an underground vault. The Blue Chaos Emerald was on an altar that was infront of inscriptions. Knuckles grabbed the Emerald and departed back, not even trying to see what the inscriptions said. He saw Dr. Robotnik working on the chest of the machine. Knuckles walked up to it and said, "Master, I have found one Chaos Emerald for you. Here, it was near your lair." He handed the Emerald over and continued, "What is that machine called, Master?"
"It is called the Robotnik Apocalypse and my grandfather had made the blueprints for this wonderful machine. Alas, he wasn't able to create it because of the Military shutting down the Space Colony ARK. Now I, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, will finally carry out my true destiny and defeat that hedgehog. Now go and search again for the other Emeralds." Dr. Robotnik replied. He finished the additions to the Robotnik Apocalypse, and placed the Blue Chaos Emerald on the Control Panel. He got in the chest and closed the hatch. Dr. Robotnik played with some dials and buttons, and finally the machine started to rise. He left through the hanger and flew away towards Metropolis. Dr. Robotnik had already thought up a plan to ensnare Sonic. This time, however, he would be the victor and be able to get his spoils.
