#6 of The Lion King Old Stories of the Past

The wedding was nearing Zuri and Kishindo could hardly wait. Just three more days till the wedding and 1 day until they have to be apart from each other. "Kishindo?" "Yes Zuri?" "What was your sister doing here the other day?" Kishindo paused, then began, "Well the cub that was brought to us, was found by her, she took the cub in and was beginning to take care of it," Kishindo stopped, "And then she said that she wanted her cub back," "Her cub? But she found it she can't have it what would its mother think?" "Well she told me that the mother abandoned it," "Can we stop calling the cub an it and call it a she?" "Yeah sure, anyway Ubazai said that the mother abandoned her, and she took the cub in and she and the cub just stuck together, so she says," "But isn't the cub making her happy?" "She may be happy but she's still the conniving lioness that I grew up to know." Zuri got up and walked to her lover, "Well let's just forget about the whole thing," "Yeah your right." Just then Masa and Maana came in, "Hey you two, Excited about the big day?" Masa asked, Zuri and Kishindo nodded, "Good, Now the two of you will need to know something, Zuri you come with me and Kishindo you go with Maana," both nodded and followed their appropriate escort.

Kishindo and Maana both walked side by side, Maana broke the silence with the same question Zuri asked the day at the water fall, "Who was that lioness you were talking to the other night?" Kishindo sighed not wanting to let anybody else know but since Maana was going to be his father-in-law, he had too, "She was my sister, one of your lioness here found a cub that was in her care, brought the cub to Pride Rock, she showed up and demanded to hand her over," "Did you?" "Well yes she used a guilt trip on me, saying that if somebody were to take me away she would've done anything in her power to get me back when I was the cub's age. And so I gave the cub to her, seeing that she cared for it, she said she would fight me for it, and to me that showed dedication," "Well I see you have good judgment, but why is your sister taking care of a cub that is apparently not her's?" "She told me that the mother abandoned the cub, I don't know the whole story, she won't even talk to me other than death threats now ever since I went against the plan," "I see well let's talk about that later, now to the important matter, You are about to marry my daughter, my only daughter and child, I want you to care for her, cherish her, this pride only consists of mate for life, that was the costume my father and his father's father, and generations beyond, had done, you are to be truthful and loyal to her, and she shall do the same."

Zuri and Masa began their walk, but to the place the wedding shall be held, "And I want it to end with us jumping from the top of the Water fall to the bottom off the river," Masa chuckled, "You really want it to be a blast don't ya?" "I do, it will be the best wedding of all time," "I'm sure it will, now Zuri what I'm about to tell you is important," "Alright mom," "Okay, Zuri as you may know that Kishindo is going to be married to you, he has duties and so do you, your duties include keeping peace between the lionesses and the hunting parties, you also must watch over the pride when the king is not around," Masa began, Zuri just stood there listening intently, "And as for Kishindo you make sure his judgments are fair...I'm sure your father has told Kishindo his responsibilities, so you and Kishindo will talk it over once you are married." "Thanks for the lesson mom, but what I don't understand is what will happen to you and dad?" "Oh we'll be around, we just won't be King and Queen anymore once you two are married, and have at least a cub you'd be taking over for us."
