  • Astorathen Dragornme aka Asto

As Fraolith breached the door that led into the dining area, he was immediately greeted with a big hug, followed by a kiss to his muzzle. He returned the kiss with a soft nuzzle to Mirvanda's nose, before walking over to his second father David. He clasped him on the shoulder and nuzzled him as well, before giving him a soft lick on the cheek giggling a bit as he sat down at the table.

He crossed his hands and rested his head on the back of them before tilting his head in inquiry. "So how did you two sleep last night?" Fraolith smiled at his parents, before he began to ravenously dig into his breakfast. It consisted of foods high in protein, which began with a nice ten ounce sirloin steak; three eggs (sunny side up per Fraolith's request); four strips of bacon; and a soy breakfast shake topped the meal. His parents never really understood the dragon appetite or diet, but their joy at having a son was overpowered by their confusion.

They both simply grinned at the hungry dragon, and looked at each other before looking back at Fraolith. Mirvanda shrugged and was the one that responded to the question, trying his best to stifle a yawn, "We slept well, how about yourself?"

"I slept just as well. I mean after all those finals and projects, would you have slept as soundly as I did?" Fraolith chuckled as he took another bite out of his sirloin steak, having already eaten his eggs and bacon. "Then of course," he stated between mouthfuls,

"You humans need more sleep than I do to be rested, so I sleep well every night!" Fraolith loosed another muffled chuckle and gave Mirvanda and David both a playful slap to the back. Suddenly the morning bell rang, causing Fraolith to flinch in apprehension. "Shitanake Dracina! Only three quarters of an hour to go until the ceremony begins!"

Fraolith hurried to finish his breakfast, tossing the whole ten ounce steak into his muzzle and chugging his protein shake. After finishing, he jumped from his chair and scurried for the door. He stopped momentarily to look back and wave farewell. "Wish me luck you two... see you after the ceremony!" Without another word he disappeared from their sight.

David and Mirvanda simply shook their heads as the dragon that had become their son ran out of the door. As Fraolith disappeared around the corner, David looked at Mirvanda and smirked, before clasping his hand in a warm embrace. "I hope he chooses his path wisely, because he has worked a long way to get to where he is now. You know, they say his childhood and awakening were rough."

With a stroke of his thumb on the inside of his partners' palm, Mirvanda replied, "Yes, it was, I read his file. He was orphaned at 13, and with a stroke of luck he stumbled onto this facility without any guidance. But don't worry honey; everything will be alright in the end." He paused briefly to give his lover a soft kiss to the cheek. He looked out the door and rested his head on David's shoulder.

Mirvanda continued, a humorous smile forming on his face, "He is a strong willed person, well, dragon shaped person, but a person nonetheless. Let us see what happens and support him either way, and hope that if he does choose the military, he can wake up on time."

Fraolith hurried through the halls, hoping he wouldn't be late for the beginning of the graduation and placement ceremony. "Damn, I have got to start waking up on time, especially if I am going to join the DSIU!"

Fraolith looked down at the floor, beginning to recite his speech. He was told that he was accepting an award and to prepare a speech by the Dean, Dracira Rentaro. Lost in his thoughts, he didn't see the green dragon walking out from the hallway on the right. With a muffled thud and a few draconic curses, the two went tumbling end over end before coming to a stop in a mess of tangled necks, wings, and tails. Fraolith winced as he heard a growl from the green male over top of him, staring at his arm as it drew into a fist. "I... I...Sorry I ran into you s-sir. P-please don't hurt me..." Fraolith shuddered as he saw the snarl forming on the greens muzzle.

"HEY, WHAT ARE YOU BLIND?! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING YOU STUPID DRACIRA NAKIEND..." The green male stopped in the middle of his sentence as he looked into the eyes of the dragon that had knocked him over. He seemed to melt as he stared into the amethyst orbs, a strange feeling coursing through his veins. He stared at the other dragon under him, the muscles in his arm relaxing. He tilted his head at the amount of energy that he sensed, making him forget his previous exclamation of protest.

"S-sorry, I was on the other end of the building in the residential sector, and woke up not even ten minutes ago. I-I am going to be late for the graduation ceremony." Fraolith stammered as he attempted to free himself from the green. He squirmed and twisted with the other male, embarrassed at the incident that had occurred.

"Nooo worries, mistakes happen," was his short reply as he began to untangle his tail from stuck behind his wing, then started to shift to a kneeling position, beginning to smooth out any wrinkles that were in the fabric of his combat fatigues. He then inquired, "So, you're in the graduating class?" The green dragon smiled as he stood, fixing his camouflage fatigues and wing robe. Offering a paw to Fraolith, he introduced himself. "My name is Astorathen Dragornme, Draco Ki General 2nd Class, DSIU Squadron 217. Everyone calls me Asto, so what's your name cutie?" Asto smiled at the lithe silver in front of him, chuckling as he looked at the flustered dragon.

Fraolith blushed at the statement, his frills on his cheeks turning a deep golden color, a difference from the cream that they were originally. He returned the gesture, shaking the paw in front of him, relaxing slightly. "My name is Fraolith, Fraolith Sintorna, Dracion for the class of 2013. Nice to meet you Asto, but to be honest I'm not really that cute." He eyed the other dragon and shuddered in unease as a new and unknown feeling appeared inside his heart. He dismissed it for the time being and simply tilted his head and curiously asked, "So where are you headed Asto?"

Asto smiled slightly at Fraolith, and noticed him getting a little uneasy, as he was as well. He wanted to remedy that as he didn't want to scare Fraolith. Resting his hand on Fraolith's shoulder, he patted it gently and felt Fraolith relax. Smiling at him and patting his shoulder again, he replied, "Well, if you say so. I am heading to the graduation ceremony myself. So have you made your decision as to what you want to do after you receive your diploma?"

Fraolith shifted a bit under the hand to his shoulder, his wings drooping as he looked away from the dragon. "I-It's just; I never expected to run into a Draco Ki general of the DSIU." He looked back into the other dragons' ruby eyes and seemed to relax more.

Fraolith continued, "And after the ceremony, I was going to join the DSIU. I want to protect this world from anything that would try to destroy it, because it is in my blood and because of this." He lifted his gown sleeve to reveal the mark on his right shoulder. Asto was taken aback at the sight, the source of the immense energy he felt earlier becoming clear.

Why does he have the mark of a guardian, and what will become of him? Guardians don't appear in dragon blood very often, so I will have to watch him closely. I need to recruit him into my squadron as well. Asto simply smiled and patted Fraolith on the shoulder. "I see you have the mark of a guardian. It is a rare mark that usually means you have a hidden power or energy. They usually end up becoming Draco Ki Generals, or the Drakiran Commanders that follow the Draco Ki."

Asto lowered the right hand side of his wing robe, revealing a mark on his right shoulder. It was the same mark that was on Fraolith's shoulder, slightly different due to personal modifications to it. However it was in the same location, which caused Fraolith to shift a bit again, looking deep into the generals ruby eyes. "I expect to see great things from you, but you had better hurry along, the graduation ceremony is going to begin here in about thirty minutes, and I have to head there anyway. I am going to be giving out the diplomas with the Dean."

Fraolith smiled and nodded, before looking at Asto and shaking his paw one last time, with more confidence this time as well. "Well it was an honor to meet you Asto. Granted we got tangled together, but it was an honor nonetheless. I look forward to serving with you in the military. And thank you, for the complement. I never was really seen by others as cute."

"You're welcome Fraolith. I guess I will see you at the ceremony then," Asto bowed before walking away, leaving Fraolith to his thoughts as he walked toward the gathering room through the once again silent hallways.
