I finally have started a story series again that i had started when i was about sixteen. I stumbled across an old notebook and got the inspiration to restart it. with a few tweaks to the storyline, i believe i have a good story in the making. I am posting the prologue now and hope to have the first chapter finished soon. I will not make a commitment to posts, but i will try to post once a week. Hope you enjoy it, its my first clean story i have written on my own... Enjoy!

As always, comments and constructive criticism is always welcome ^,=,^

Fraolith winced as the alarm blared beside him, rolling over and slamming the snooze. He shifted under the sheets and covered himself again, tail shifting to a more comfortable position. He murred in contentment as he started to drift off to sleep again, before he was snapped back to reality as his "mother" called up the stairs, a tone of caring concern in his voice. "Fraolith dear, you're going to be late for graduation!"

Fraolith sighed and shook his head his iridescent scales glimmering in the morning light as he flung the sheets from his back with his muscular wings. Stretching them in the morning sunlight was always his favorite thing to do, as his runiton silver scales would catch the light and reflect all over the walls and ceiling. He loved the way the light created the perfect conflagration of greens, blues, reds and purples; his "perfect sunrise". After a good morning roar he called down a reply to one of his stepfathers, Mirvandi, "Alright, Alright, I'm up mom! Can't a dragon catch a few more minutes of beauty sleep though on occasion!?"

With a chuckle he brushed his scaled hands, well paws, through his mane, closing his eyes to take a breath of the warm summer air... He had recently graduated high school, was on the honor roll, and he was supposed to receive an award of some kind at the graduation ceremony. His parents were human, more or less his adoptive parents, which is another story in its own right. He sighed and looked out the window as a warm breeze lifted itself in the early morning stillness. Feeling the wind on his muzzle and mane, he took a moment to look back and reflect on the events of his life that had brought him to this moment...

Fraolith was one of the few people that had been gifted with dragon blood at birth. When he was born, he was as normal as any other human, and in fact was named Gregory Jenson Smith at birth. However as he grew older, he would soon be seen to be much different than your average human. By his first birthday he had found that he was able to speak and use full sentences, and by his fifth birthday he was talking as an adult would. This amazed his parents, however their amazement soon turned to horror as they watched a monster appear from their perfect child.

On Gregory's thirteenth birthday, his eyes had changed from a normal brown to an amethyst purple, and the pupils of his eyes weren't exactly round anymore, but shaped into reptilian slits. It was the beginning of his Dragon Blood evolution, and when he began to call himself Fraolith Gentrano Sintorna. When this started, he was treated with a great deal of ignorance and misunderstanding. Gregory and his parents ended up drifting apart during the course of his shift, and he was on his own to deal with the stress and pain, mental, emotional and physical.

The next three to four months were hard on him as mental changes were made for appendages that he had yet to receive. His skin had dried and paled out, cracking a few times and molding over each other, forming hardened scales. His neck stretched and elongated, and his face painfully morphed in one burst on the third month. The growth of a tail wasn't so bad, because it simply extended slowly with new vertebrae as it extended outward. But the most agonizing part of it was when his body had to do a great deal of rearranging, primarily with his legs as they formed into a digit grade stature. They ground and cracked, causing tears to come to his eyes. He cried for hours, but no one came to comfort him.

That was the night where his change had completed. His skin had changed from a fleshy pink into iridescent silver; his hair had grown back down a long, lithe and muscular neck, and had changed color as well to match his scales. He had grown an extra three feet, and his tail was almost twice that in length. As he looked at himself in the mirror, he decided to live on his own, and dropped out of his current human school. He flew for weeks on end, looking for some place that would accept him for what he was. Almost about to give up hope, he stumbled onto the DSIU Army School, a place that the humans born of dragon blood could call home. When he arrived, he was surprised at how many others were there that were born of dragon blood. Because of his age at the time, he was put into the care of Mirvanda and David, two homosexual humans that were looking for a child of their own...

He opened his eyes and smiled, before sighing and looking up at the sky. "And now today, I get my diploma, marking the end of my education..." he paused as he slid into his black dress slacks, making sure his tail made it through the hole in the back. Then came his cap and dragon tailored graduation gown before he sighed again and finished his earlier statement, "After that, I am able to join the military branch if I would prefer. I think that is going to be my choice, because I want to protect the world. I feel that was the reason I was put here."

He pressed his hand onto his right shoulder, feeling the raised edges of the mark that had formed on his right shoulder earlier that year. He sighed and squeezed the windowsill, lifting himself up off the windowsill with a few flaps of his wings, enjoying his perfect sunrise a bit before walking out to the living area to greet his breakfast and parents.
