Don't Talk!

Another of my horror stories. This was written based off of a dream I had.

I felt something warm at my feet. I stretched out, half asleep. My feet touched something gooey. I shot up, moving the blanket out of the way. I couldn't see anything in the darkness. My hands fumbled for the light. I looked down and--

I was covered in blood, and at my feet was a dead body, the person's brains had been scattered around their head. The body was mangled and cut beyond recognition. I started sobbing uncontrollably. I didn't remember anything, I didn't even know if I was the one who-- No, I didn't want to think like that. I started sobbing harder. I couldn't believe my eyes. The air stunk of death and decay. I looked down again, this time I was able to look at the body more. I was still unable to tell who it was, I couldn't even tell the gender. I poked the body and screamed when it moved from the weight of my finger.

"Be quiet!" A girl I hadn't noticed before whispered loudly. She wrapped herself around the arm of the male who seemed to be accompanying her. "Tell her not to wake Him." She seemed to be pouting now.

"Don't piss her off." He warned.

"Shh..." She leaned in close to my face.

"Go to sleep." They said together in a sing-songy voice. I tried to fight it, but I couldn't. My eyes flickered shut. No matter how hard I fought it, sleep overcame me. I couldn't hold it back.

My first thought when I woke up was 'This isn't my room'. This room was almost hospital like. Tiled floors and white walls. The only thing was, the bed wasn't metal, it was made of aged wood. I stood up and walked to the door. I wiggled the door-knob, it opened without protest. Outside there the same girl from earlier was on a computer.

"We should just kill her." She said aloud, to no one.

"Take me with you! I can be of help!" I shouted, not being able to contain myself.

"No! You are not of any use!"

"I can be of use! I can help!"

"I SAID NO!" She stood up abruptly, sending the desk-chair flying. I ran back into the room and hid under the bed, sitting with my legs to my chest. I heard the male's voice, the same one from last night. I couldn't tell what they were saying. The door to the room opened, and the male walked in.

"We're going to take you with us, under one condition."

I walked to the front of the RV where girl and guy were sitting in the front passenger seats. The girl was dozing off and the male was listening to music softly while she slept.

"So where are we headed?" I asked, leaning over his shoulder.

"Anywhere. We're looking for somewhere to set up a workshop." He said with a shrug.

"Any direction in particular?"

"Right now we're just heading West." He looked at me. "Are you hungry?" I looked at him I hadn't eaten anything in days. But did I really trust them enough to eat their food?

"Yeah. Kind of." That was an understatement, I was starving.

"There's food in the fridge and cupboard, if you want to find something to eat." He waved back toward the tiny kitchen. In the fridge were little packets of things that looked like blood. I licked my lips. The idea made my mouth water. I thought for a second, and decided against it, the girl didn't like me much anyways and taking her blood seemed like a great way to get even further on her bad-side than I already was. I settled for an unopened can of Tuna, I didn't trust them enough to eat anything prepared earlier-- or anything that had been opened before myself.

I went up to where they were sitting, leaning against the side of his chair. He didn't seem to mind, or even notice that I was watching the signs and the road. The area was barren and empty, little to see. It was all the same.

"So I never did catch your name." He said after a while.

"Skye."

"I'm Copper, and that Faye." We just stayed like that, watching the scenery.

"Wake up!" I heard Faye scream into my ear.

"What, what happened?" I asked, sitting up abruptly.

"Nothing happened; it's just the only way to get you up." She laughed.

"I'm not that much of a deep sleeper." I complained. Faye and I had started to get along a lot more as the days went by. I guess she was warming up for me.

"Yes you are. Anyways; I think I found a perfect spot for our work-shop. We have to leave now if we want to have time to check it out.

"Okay, fine. Let's do this." I sat up and ran my fingers through my hair, getting the knots out as best as I could. She led Copper and I off of the RV. She led us to a large building. It was run down, and almost destroyed. It had the perfect creepy aura to it. Just what we were looking for.

"Isn't it perfect!?" She asked, proud of her find.

"Yes it is!" Copper said, hugging her. Her small frame was enveloped by his tall lanky body. She smiled, enjoying herself.

"So, when do we set up shop?" I asked, stuffing my hands into my pockets, smiling, imagining all the things we could get away with living in this beautiful building.

"Right now. I'm going to go get the RV."
