Chapter 1

It had been one week, one excruciatingly long week. Each of the nights I had cried myself to sleep. And each time I would awake crying at the middle of the night. I could still remember the events as though I were re-living them night after night. The death of my best friend had made me do this, no, not a death, but a cruel demise. My friend was tortured then killed right in front of his eyes. I had cried when it had happened, I had begged for them to take me instead, to let him live! But all they did was to force me to watch it.

They had taken such care in causing pain to Raike that it could seem inhuman. The first took his legs and stuck them with a long spike. Second they stabbed each of his fingers, until it fell off. Third they cut his tongue out with a normal kitchen knife, after which they very slowly cut his ears off. Then they heated a large poker to a glowing red, which they used to burn one eye then the next. During all of this they made sure that he felt as much pain as possible. Finally the cut him along the chest, making Raike bleed until he died.

During all of this I was bound by restraints and forced to watch. I cried the whole time trying to get them to stop. It just wasn't fair; I was the one who disobeyed our master, not him! They did it just to punish me as best they could. But from that point on I was unable to care for anything. I hated my master; I wanted to kill him like he had killed my friend.

After the worst day of my life I realized a fact. My family, pets, and even my friends were all gone. I didn't have anyone left to care for. I was completely alone. I was completely alone. I guess it was this fact that made me escape and vow my revenge, to vow to kill the fucking bastard. I have spent each day full of pain, sadness and a very deep hate. I had to do something, but I had not the tools, nor the strength, to do anything as of this moment. After I paid my respects to my lost friends and family, which I did by the cross that was tied around my neck, I started to move as fast as I could to the nearest town.

I was getting close to the town when it began to snow. It got bad after this. My fur alone was not enough to keep the cold out and I only had a thin pair of shorts. I had to move quickly or face death. And for me to die without avenging Raike was not something I was going to allow. I moved fast but I was still a couple miles away from the town before the cold got to me. The chill felt like death breathing down my back. I fell towards the snow as the chill hit my bones.

The world began to fade around me. I couldn't believe it; I thought I had failed to get revenge for my loved ones deaths. My last thought, before the darkness consumed me, was "I'm sorry, I failed". I thought that I was dead but yet I was only in a dream, but this dream was not like the ones of the past. I was happy, I was with the ones that I loved deeply, and all of them were fine. We laughed together when I started to remember that they were gone, when I did this they started to shrink into the distance. I tried to get to them but I wasn't fast enough, I was to damn slow. Then I was completely alone again.

Then I felt the warmth of a finger along my cheek. It was soft, and real. I opened my eyes, only to squint from the light that was around me. Then I heard a soothing voice, which reminded me of my mother on a warm summer day, beside me "It's alright, your safe, and I think your going to live. Your body is warm again". It took me a second to realize that my cheeks were cold from tears, I was crying. I tried to move my hand to wipe the tears away, but I found I had no strength. Then again came that soft, gentle voice "Don't move, your still weak. You need to save your strength until you can walk"

Chapter 2

To me it seemed I was only there for about two hours or so, but when I was able to stay awake, I was told I had been lying there for about six days. The bed was comfortable, but so far I was unable to catch a glimpse of the person who was caring for me. From what I could tell, though, I figured the person was a female. She had a soft voice and she was very caring. But now that I could stay awake, I kept catching glimpses of white fur and a short tail. After 16 hours or so of me try to look around I finally caught a few or the women who was caring for me.

She was a snow rabbit morph, at about Five foot seven, and was wearing to long pants and a t-shirt. She moved with a grace I had only seen once before, and that was buy tigress morph. She was quicker than I thought she was, but she was a rabbit so that did make sense. It took me about a day or so, until I was able to stand. After a trip to the bathroom, I went and sat on the couch looking around.

It was a cozy home, not very big but still cozy. Her couch was made of heated cloth and there was a large fireplace in front of it. The carpet was a gentle deep-sea blue and the walls made of old oak. There weren't many windows, but those I could see still showed a raging snowstorm. Other than that, this was a dream house for those who loved small cozy private lives. I could smell the kitchen from here, and what a smell. The smell of chestnuts filled the small house while the rabbit chopped celery for the stew she was cooking, which was mixed in with the roasted chestnuts.

The delicious smell reminded me of how hungry I was. Moving into the kitchen, I saw her setting down a couple bowls with a few spoons. Tilting my head, I sniffed the air. My strong nose picked up the sent of chopped bits of steak, I tried to wonder why when I realized that she had made a special bowl for me. I gently blushed, but I doubted that it would show through my crimson fur. Being a fox, any skin change only showed at the tip of my tail.

I moved to the table and to looked down to try to find which bowl had the meat in it when I heard the rabbit talk in that soothing voice. "It will be the bowl on that side if you're wondering which has the steak in it." She said smoothly, with a hint of the giggles, as she sat at the left side of the table. I shook my head slightly with a small grin as I sat at the right side.

"I was wondering," I asked while I ate the heartwarming stew, "why do you have steak in your house? I thought rabbits didn't eat meat"

She just casually looked up at my eye, with her amber eyes, as she answered "well, I just like to be prepared incase I find someone who didn't have a home or was to injured. And incase they were a carnivore". I blushed again at the obvious answer and ate the rest of the delicious stew. I got up and went to the door of the small hut

"Where do you think you are going? It's a blizzard out there," she demanded as I grabbed the handle, "you could die, and get back here now!"

I ignored her demand as I started to twist the handle when I heard the rummaging of metal. I shrugged that off, but I would soon find out that it was not the smartest thing to do. Just as the door was opening I felt something slam into the back of my head. I dropped like a stone, as I heard the clanging of a pot, unconscious.

I awoke sometime later lying back on the same bed with some bandages wrapped around my head. I let out a load groan as I reached to the back of my head. As my hand touched where I felt a sting, I winced as it felt like a knife pressing against the back of my head. I tried to remember what happened; when it came to me I left out a growl. I tried to think why she hit me in the back of the head with the damn pot.

I heard footsteps in the hall and growled slightly as she walked into the room. I would not easily forget that she did that. But yet I was slightly glad she did, it had stopped me from going outside, which now looked like just a wall of pure white. But still, couldn't she have hit me with something that wasn't as hard.

"Now, when I tell you to stay, you STAY! You could've died you stupid fox. I should hit you again. I mean, I nurse you back to health and you go and try to walk out into a blizzard. What the hell is wrong with you." She yelled at me while trying to keep calm at the same time.

I shook my head slightly, as I had one hell of a headache, and looked up into those amber eyes "look, I wasn't thinking ok? I just wanted to get him..." I shut up right there because I didn't want to bring up the past. But when she pressured me to tell her about it, I just looked down while tears silently rolled down my cheeks. Upon seeing these, she shut up and ran a single finger down my cheek. I could tell she wanted to know what happened but she also knew she shouldn't because the result might be a bit worse than she wanted.

She finally looked up into my eyes and began to speak. "Look, I'm sorry about the pot. You just needed to learn that you should stay here until the storm clears. Or at least until you get some better clothes, ok?" And so I stayed.

Chapter 3

I later learned that her name was April; I also learned where I was. I was around 2 miles away from the town that I was planning to get to in the begging. I stayed with her for a week or so and we became close. After I talked to her a bit, she agreed not to throw any more objects at my head. It took me a few more days until I worked up the nerve to tell her about Raike and about my past. At first, I thought that she would hate me and kick me out. But, in fact, she did the opposite from that and comforted me. During the time I told her about what happened to Raike, I was crying. She seemed to cry, but yet there was something that told me that she was crying from her past, as though she suffered what I had gone through. All this did was bring us together closer.

She looked up at me after a moment and began to talk "Look Mr. ..."

"Stormfur, but call me Kaioru." I put in

"Right, Kaioru, well look. I know how you feel. Two years ago my mother was taken and I had to hide under my mothers bed in a secret compartment. I don't even know where she is. But you can't go against slave masters. They have a lot of influence on the law." She told me, trying to hold back the tears and trying to keep her voice gentle.

It was at that moment that I started to think about whom else I saw at my brief stay at my former masters home. Then I remember seeing another rabbit morph, but she had that look, the look of a mother who had lost hope. I decided to tell her, so I gazed up into her soft amber eyes and began to tell her of what I saw. After I finished, I saw the tears and took her into a comforting embrace as I whispered into her ear "look, I'm going back there when I get the chance. I'm going to get revenge for what he did to my friend. If I get the chance I'll tell you mother about where you are so she could get back to you. Ok?"

All she did was just to gaze up into my eyes and nod. The only problem was I was torn between revenge on the man who had taken my best friends life, and risking him getting away to rescue this women's mother. At that moment I realized how thin the line between love and hate truly was. I did know that, when the time came, I would have to make the choice. The only question was, was I ready to make such a choice?

Chapter 4

It took a while for the storm to eventually die down. It was a few more days until I was able to go outside without my paws freezing. April was also kind enough to find clothes that fit me. I know wore a wool sweater, and I needed it because of the cold chill, and cotton pants. I was very grateful to her and told her I would pay her back but she told me she wouldn't accept any money.

I moved quickly as I could along the rolling plains. The lucky thing is that the sweater and pants were a pure white and matched the snow. Using this as a tool it hid me from normal sight. I moved along close to the ground when a sent hit me that made me stop in my tracks, and snarl in anger. It was those damn bastards who had killed Raike. This was going to far, not only had he sent guards after me, he had added an insult by sending the ones responsible for Raike's death.

This was one thing that I could not stand. This was going to far, he was not going to get me. In fact, I was going to kill the ones who he had sent after me. This would tell him that I would not sit quietly while he hunted me. He would not see his guards again. Plus there was no reason to worry about their family, it was mandatory that the slave guards/hunters were not married or had a family to hold them back. The reason for this was that they could go to the edge of death for him, and if he died he would just be another lost guard and a blank tombstone.

I don't know what came over me, in truth; I was too pissed off to give a shit anyway. I moved without my grace but it was replaced with a stealth that gave me the chills in the back of my mind. Then I saw them, five dark black stallion morphs, each carrying either a pistol or a rifle. I knew these weapons well, but I didn't care. I would not let them get away with what they did.

Their first mistake was that one of them had wandered of alone to check the eastern plains. He would be the first to go. I made my moves and came up behind him. I had to hide myself in the snow so he didn't see me when he turned around to see if something was behind him. I finally got close enough to where I could see the pistol in hits holster. I made one quick move. It only took a few seconds and then it was over.

I stood there, covered in the stallion's blood, the pistol in my hand. The body lay lifeless on the floor, while the smoke from the Desert Eagle mingles with the air. It was no doubt that the others had heard the sound. But some reason I didn't care, something was different in me. A rage I had felt only once before. I quickly buried myself about twenty feet away in the snow to where I could see them in one eye, while the gun lay under the snow pointed at them.

What came next, I can't really remember myself. I do know it started with my desert eagle letting off one shot. Then in a flurry of gunshots, most at random places. It was over. All of them lay lifeless in the snow while I stand there clutching my left arm. I knew I wouldn't get away from that unscathed.

The pain was whit hot and searing through my arm. I knew it was a bad wound. So I decided to give up on hiding. I ran at top speed towards the town in hopes of getting there before I passed out. If I didn't I knew there would be no way of surviving.

The sun was beginning to set when I reached the town. A lot of people immediately knew I was in trouble, due to the blood soaked sweater. I managed to ask for the direction to the hospital. I began to stumble towards the hospital in hopes of finding help. I had a few gold that I found but I wasn't able to move farther. I got to the doors before collapsing against the wall, I couldn't think strait due to blood loss. Luckily one of the nurses saw me fall and immediately called for doctors and a stretcher.

The next few hours were slightly blurred. I was able to make out some of the furs that were caring for me. There were two other fox morphs, a lioness, and the doctor was a large stallion. This gave me a pang of guilt, remembering the horses I had just killed in the fight.

I was awake when the removed the sweater to clean the wound. But shortly after they had placed a mask upon my muzzle causing me to drift into a deep sleep. Again...again I had the dream. This was different though. There was someone else in the room. I yelled out in my dream. It was April, and then I realized how much she held a place in my heart, how much I cared for her. Then the dream faded and I awoke to find myself lying in a cleaned room. I glanced to my left to find it in a large cast. This made me let out a loud groan as I realized I would be stuck here for a few days. Then I heard the voice I thought I wouldn't hear for a while.

"You don't look to good, what in heavens name were you doing?" April spoke softly, her voice sounded sad but also glad, "I care for you after I find you in the snow, then you go ahead and get shot. You are having one bad week."

All I did was groan in response to what she said, but she was right. I was having one very bad week. And I had a guess it was only getting worse. I stayed at the hospital for 3 more days, with April visiting at each possible moment. Usually she just sat there and we talked. That is how it was when he came. We were there just talking and the door opened. But instead of any nurses or doctors coming in there came a raven. I knew at that moment that I was in very deep shit. This was one of my former masters guards.

He was a little taller that I was, and had the walk that said very clearly that he held himself well. I knew what he had come for. But the problem was that I had no way of defending myself against any attack what so ever. The crow first glanced down at me then began to talk in that that rasping and horrible voice he had "so this is the slave that has given my employer so much trouble. It makes me laugh to think that such a puny and insignificant little thing can cause so much trouble. I could end it all right now. And you just have to ask"

"If I had the chance I would show you why I have caused so much trouble." I snarled at the annoying bird.

The only thing that this had managed to do was make him laugh, then it hit me. This crow had begun to have second thoughts about his 'employer' and my guess was how he treated the female slaves. Young or old he beat them all at the slightest hint of resistance. The crow just stared down at me. He winked and asked the one thing that I thought had been on his mind, "So how do you plan on bringing down that son of a bitch? If you need help I'll give it to you."

Chapter 5

After a few more days of care I was able to walk on my own and leave the hospital. We didn't know yet how we were going to throw this small empire over. The entire lot of my previous owner was a good mile in diameter and took much planning to get around. The first obstacles were to get the slaves working out in the fields to safety. The only problem was that, after this, we would have one minute and thirty-four seconds exactly before the alarm went off. This gave us a very small window in which to get the slaves inside to some place safe.

The reason behind this was that, after we were done, there would not be a single wall left standing. It, first, would consist of myself slipping in as one of the slaves; this would be easy, as I looked the part, and get them off of the fields and behind the hills. After which, we would use the first thirty-four seconds to infiltrate the main hall, using Crow to get us in, while I slipped off to warn the slaves to get out of the building in exactly ten seconds, unless they wanted to get blown to bits that is. While I did this, April would move with Crow along the main halls planting the explosives in the targeted places to blow the manor to rubble. That would take approximately thirty to thirty-five seconds; this would leave me with thirty to twenty-five seconds until the main halls were blown.

After the main halls would be blown, this would leave only the main chamber left. This is where my former master spent most of his time and would be the only place left standing. This would leave just him, and me alone, to settle our differences once and for all. Either way, only one person would be walking out of that room alive. The only problem was that I had ten minutes to end it before the rest of the building was leveled by a large explosive that would be set after the first set of explosives went off. If all of this went off as planned, it would all be over by sunset in two days.

The sun rose over the horizon casting its light over the hut where we lay sleeping, for now. I was the first to awake, getting up I headed to the window to check the weather. I checked it for around five minutes dill I decided it was clear. I stepped outside and was met by a gentle wind. The wind rippled my fur and the trees. The sound of birds mingled with the morning air. This was relaxing, yes, but there was that one thing that told me something was going to go wrong. But we had been planning this for two days. It was time to bring the plan to action.

I moved back inside of April's hut to find her back in the kitchen, just like every morning, merrily making breakfast. Each time I had offered to do it she flat out told me no, so I stopped asking. The sent of warm stew and freshly made tea filled the hut quickly. Even this was enough to wake up a sleeper like Crow; I gave April a hug and told her good morning before slipping to get three cups and plates.

In about six minutes we were all gathered around the table laughing and eating merrily, but in truth I knew they were all as nervous and worried as I was. But, right now none of that mattered it were just we three. The Breakfast ended shortly, with a last joke from Crow, as we all stood and cleaned our plates. And we set out to wards the Manor in which it will end.

The ground was a little wet from a mist that hung late, and low on the ground. We moved with speed for our anxiety heightened our heart rate. In around twenty minutes we came across a one-foot high black marking. This was it; it was time to finish what we had started. We moved with stealth to the fields where Crow slipped to the side, with April with him, while I ditched my nice clothes and pulled on my ragged pants. I slipped in as though I had been there for a long time.

The word spread like wild fire along the fields, a plan to over through their owner and end it all. In a flash slaves were slipping behind the hills, one at a time, and I moved onwards. Grabbing an already filled basket of crops I lifted it with ease and moved towards the house. I was stopped and looked over and let by, I was glad that I had chosen to not clean my fur in a day so I looked quite like a slave. As soon as I was passed them I checked the area and made my way to Crow, the beginning of the plan went off without a hitch.

Then things got worse as we noticed a pair of guards quickly turning the corner. Crow did something at that moment that saved us both. He backhanded me to the ground with a look of anger on his face. He yelled quite convincingly as the other guards saw us, "Don't even think about it slave!" he looked and answered a question by one of the others, "I caught him trying to sneak some of the crops by in his pants. I'll take care of this one. You guys go get some rest." He grinned as they nodded, completely oblivious to the truth, and turned the next corner.

"Damn dude, that hurt like hell." I growled furiously at him, but he just laughed.

"Don't get your fur in a knot Kaioru, look, April is inside and is getting most of the charges in place. Hurry we only got forty seconds left till the siren goes off." He went serious for a moment and we quickly made our way into the hall.

Chapter 6

I pushed the doors opened to find my former owner turn to face me, "Ah, Kaioru. I've been waiting for you. No, boys. Leave now I'll take care of this one" and I watched as four bear morph's left and I turned back to face the Rottweiler as he dropped the shirt of his tux and faced me. I knew at that second, it would end now. Then the charges went off, neither of us moved, and we heard the rest of the mansion collapse around us. This was it, we charged at each other and I was the first to do something.

Ducking under his high punch that was aimed at my nose, he sent a paw into his ribs. He barely even moved from this! He followed up with a strong punch sending my reeling across the room. I landed on a desk and I got up and shook my head. He was as strong as he looked, then I got up and had an idea. I rolled out of the way of his next punch and grabbed the leg of the desk that I hand landed on. Bringing it with me, I rolled backwards and stood as fast as possible. I swung as hard as I could and felt it connect with his right shoulder blade.

The crack was sickening but I had to get over that cause he now was walking right towards me, it seemed as though a broken shoulder didn't even bother him. This cause a moment of hesitation, which was a dumb move, and he took the moment and sent a strong punch right to the side of my face. I rolled across the floor and rolled into the wall. I got up dazed. He stumbled out of the way in time as a chair flew my way. This was not starting to look good. I was stumbling like a drunken hobo and he was throwing chairs as though his right arm wasn't broken.

It was time to do something quick, He was advancing as though he had just gotten into this fight. I had to jump and roll out of a large typing machine that would have hit me right in the face. I got up and grabbed the closest thing I could. It was a glass model of an ancient poodle; I didn't have time to think so I just threw it and he turned to meet the thing with the right side of his face. I finally saw that he was hurting as he stumbled back slightly from the glass dog. I got up and ran as fast as I could at him, but this time I wasn't going to stop to punch.

I jumped in time to have my right shoulder connect with his broken one. He let out a yell of pain as he fell back into the wall, but this only served to piss him off even more and he sent a fist into my gut causing my to roll off of him. It was this minute that I realized that we had been fighting for a while and I had thirty seconds until the final charge went off. It was this moment that he got up laughing and went behind his desk and lifted up a large female rabbit morph, April's mother.

"Well, Well, what do we have here? What will it you choose, Kaioru, Revenge or saving your love's mother? Hurry, I can tell you don't have long." He growled at me, a sadistic pleasure in his tone of voice.

It was this point that I had been dreading for the past week or so, having to choose between my love's mother, and a chance to get revenge for almost a month of pain. But the correct choice was painfully obvious. I walked towards the women and grabbed her. I ignored the laugh and ran out of the room, hoping to make it out of range before the blast. I was thrown forward as the large blast went off, falling fast first. But I didn't care about the searing pain in my left arm. I cared about the women in my arms, who was now groaning as she awoke from whatever drug she was given.

Crow saw me fall forward from the blast and quickly ran forward to help. He seemed like he cared a lot about my arm but I told him to grab the women, as I cared for her more than my arm. We both checked her to see if she was alright, and just as we found she was fine, April came out of no where and hugged her mother, with tears in her eyes. Her and her mother stayed like that for a few moments, and the truth was that I forgot about my arm and let April turn to hug me. But as soon as she did, I let out a growl of pain and she backed off. She insisted I see someone but I shook my head just trying to find out if everyone was all right. By the time I did I had almost passed out form agony and finally let someone take care of my arm.

"God Kaioru, what the hell were you doing? Fighting a fucking tank? Your jaw's almost broken and there are a couple broken ribs. But the thing is at least that's over, at least he's dead" Crow spoke to me with joy yet worry in his voice, this made me respond in only one-way."

"No crow, it isn't over. He's still out there I know he his" my voice was low as I was very exhausted from the day.

"What do you mean Kai? He was caught in the middle of that blast!" Crow spoke quickly, a disbelief in his voice.

"Simple Crow," I spoke low but yet with a strange joy in my mind "We choose our own fate; we choose when we live and die, when we love and hate. It had been so and will always be so." I grinned at this knowing that one day I would be able to get revenge, but I set my head down on the pillow because that day would have to wait until the future.

The End, Catch you next time.
