Guess who I fell in love with....

"You did what?" My mother cried out, her eyes growing wide in their sockets. I looked over and could see my dad with a similar expression, but with a more controlled look on his face. I stood there, wincing, knowing that this news would be a shock to her and my father, but I hadn't counted on them reacting with this level of intensity.

"I...got married," I replied, my face blushing somewhat. I looked back and forth to my parents' faces, waiting for one of them to make the next move.

~*~

It was spring break, the year 2012. I had just come home for a day from the University of Washington, looking to have a nice time with my mother, Mary and father, John. Both of them were aged, my mother 55 and my father 57, but they didn't look it. They were graduates of UW, each earning Bachelors degrees.

My father was the Operations Manager for Chrysler in the entire region. My mother was mostly a housewife, but she played a large role in helping my younger brother, Matt, who was now entering the final semester of his senior year in high school. He was about the same height as me, but had dirty blonde hair that ran all the way down to his neck. We were all proud and happy with each other's achievements, and our family bonds were strong.

All of us grew up as strong Christians, especially my parents and brother. We all went to Sunday school growing up, and our faith grew strong. I noticed though while growing up, they seemed to take a more literal approach to our beliefs; where I had a open-minded approach, although I never really vocalized that thought to them.

I was 25, and soon to finish my goal of earning a Masters Degree in Financing. So far things had gone quite well in my studies, I had made solid grades in all of my classes, thus opening up several scholarship opportunities. I had chosen to live at the college for the final two years it would take for me to get my Masters. I wanted to try living on my own, but with the reassurance that if I had no other choice, I had a home to go back to.

I had been working for a subsidiary company of Citigroup for a few years now. I helped families with debt consolidation, helped them get back on their feet. It was good, honest work. I enjoyed the feeling of helping others get out of a serious problem, and it also paid well; the commission rate was around 50%, and I already had plenty of money stored away in a savings account.

I had arrived at our house early; around 9 A.M. Warm greeting met me when I knocked on the door. We hugged and said how much we had missed each other while I was away at school. Stepping inside we went to our kitchen, my parents were having breakfast while my brother was up stairs playing video games. They asked me if I wanted some breakfast, and I nodded.

Going over to the table, my father and I talked about how college was going while my mother fried some eggs and made some toast. I told them that my studies were going fine, and that things were looking good for my graduation after this semester, earning my Masters Degree in General Business. Both of my parents said just how proud they were of me, especially for me to go a step farther than they had in their schooling. This was right when the eggs and toast had finished cooking and my mother brought them over.

Thanking her for them, she had asked me what I wanted to drink, I could smell some fresh coffee, and I asked for a cup. She nodded, quickly going and pouring me some and bringing back over. When I took the mug, however, was when everything began to change.

She had given me an odd look, "Mike, what's that ring there?" she had asked. My face turned a shade paler, remembering that my wedding ring was on my hand, the same hand that had taken the cup. I set the mug down and looked at my ring and then at my mother. "Mom, Dad...I got married."

~*~

"How could you do this?" my mother said her voice filled with shock, "What were you thinking?" I sighed and took a seat, sipping a little coffee before replying. "I fell in love."

"Did you think you had to get married?" My father asked, "Did you go and get a girl pregnant?" I gave him a glare.

"Oh please, you know I'm not that stupid."

"We know you're not stupid, Mike. But why wouldn't you talk with us before making such a big decision?" Suddenly I could hear footsteps coming towards us.

"What all's going on?" Matt asked, coming downstairs from the game room.

"Mike got married." my mother replied, giving me one of those, 'I can't believe you did this!' looks. Matt blinked a few times and then responded.

"Wow...when did this happen?" He asked, now walking over to the little, four-person dinner table near our kitchen.

"Yes Mike, when did this happen?" My mother added. I took another sip of coffee and took in a breath.

"Well, it started when classes first began." I started, trying to act as normal as this situation could possibly allow. "I had just gotten out of my second class and decided to get something to eat. A new pizza shop had opened up and I went there to grab a bite." I paused for a moment, recalling the fond memory.

"I saw her sitting by herself, just sipping a drink. I went over to her and sat down...things just went from there." My parents looked at each other, I could see that they could relate to some degree. "Both of us had many of the same interests, the same type of personality...and even the same faith." Upon hearing this, my parents breathed a small sigh of relief.

"We saw each other a few more times before I asked her out," A smile grew on my face, "I remember taking her out to Olive Garden and both of us ordering shrimp pasta and breadsticks, " I chuckled. "We sat there, talking about ourselves, telling each other about our past, and some of the bone headed things we did when we were younger."

My parents both nodded. "Go on."

"Well to make a long story short, we did this about once a week for nine months, keeping in contact after classes, and eventually I realized I was in love with her." My brother then cleared his throat, "Uh, sorry to interrupt bro, but what's her name?" I blushed a bit, mentally chiding myself for not saying that earlier.

"Her name's Kara." By this time my parents had calmed down to the point where they could talk without sounding hurt or angry. "Josh, do you realize how big of a commitment you've entered into?" my father asked.

"I do Dad. I would give up everything if Kara asked me to in an instant, and she would do the same for me," I said, "We both want to be with each other for the rest of our lives."

They turned and looked at each other. I could tell that they were still having a hard time accepting this information, and then they looked back at me.

"What is Kara wanting to become?" asked my mother.

"She's studying Dragon Anatomy right now."

"Dragon Anatomy? Wow, that's a difficult field." my brother added.

"Yeah it is; just as challenging as our own anatomy, if not more so because of the size of most dragons," I said.

"Well it sounds like she's very smart if she wants to go down that road," my mother said.

"Yeah, she really is." I said, a small smile on my face. My dad then spoke up.

"Why don't you call her over?" my mom nodded. "Yeah, I think it would be ice to meet her." I let out a small sigh.

"She's shopping at the mall right now, I can call her and tell her to come on over though." That was one of the bonuses to where our house was, located close to everything necessary, the mall, the supermarket, and of course, the local blockbuster. I pulled out my cell phone and quickly got her on.

"Hey honey...yeah...yeah, I'm at my parents' place...well they want you to come on over...you sure...alright...ok see you in a few," I said, closing the phone, "She'll be here in a few minutes."

My mother and father both smiled. "Well, I should probably change into something a bit more...nice," my mother said, my father nodding, "Yeah, same here." He said, both of them getting up and quickly walking to their own room. That left my little brother and me alone.

"Geez bro, you really stirred things up." Matt said, a small grin on his face.

"I just hope Mom and Dad don't embarrass me,"

"Bro, it's Mom and Dad, they won't do anything like that."

"I hope so," I replied, "Bro, do me a favor and comb your hair...you look like Chewbacca on a bad day." He rolled his eyes and gave me a quick nod, walking off towards his room. That left me alone.

I took another drink of coffee, savoring the bitter taste, and the energy bringing power that came with it. Setting it down on the table, I stared inside of the mug, seeing the now dried stains of where it had been, and the pool of black liquid farther down in the cup. I began to wonder if what I was doing was indeed a wise choice after all, as I picked the cup up again, and took another drink.

Before much time had passed, my brother came back out, his hair slicked back, and flowing down his head, and not too much later, my mother and father likewise came out, my mother in a navy blue Sunday dress, and my father in a pair of dress pants, and a black and white pin stripe business shirt.

"That's better," my father said as he came back out. No sooner had the words left his mouth the doorbell rang.

"That would be Kara." I said. We all got up and moved into the entryway. My parents and brother stood close to each other as I opened the door with a grin. "Hey honey," I said sweetly, giving her a kiss, and then turning around to see my family, all of them with their jaws hanging slack.

Kara stepped inside, the sun glinting off of her silvery scales. She wore a white silk robe that let her move freely, but also covered her body. Around her neck was a golden necklace that had a cross pendant resting in the center of her chest.

She was about three inches taller than I was, standing six feet tall. Her body looked as if a master sculptor had chizzled her out of a solid block of silver, her form flawless. She had slender arms and legs, proportionate to a human and hands that while very soft to the touch had claws that could cut flesh to ribbons.

Her face had a pleasant smile, her teeth pearly white, and her sky blue eyes added to her beauty. She didn't have a muzzle, as most would expect a dragoness to have, but had a mouth, nose and eyes that looked nearly akin to that of any human.

She had a long, tail, about as thick as mans' arm, cascading behind her down to her feet. She did not have a set of wings on her back, but she did have two spiny frills that covered her ear holes. Instead of having hair, Kara had a frill that rose up a few inches, starting from the top of her head and running down to the tip of her tail.

My mother was the one to react first. "Well...uh...this is a surprise," She said, as the rest of my family struggled to regain their composure.

"It's nice to meet you all," Kara said, offering her hand. "Mike has told me some really nice things about you all." My mother shook her hand.

"Come on inside," Her voice, I could tell, was straining to sound normal, "Would you like anything to eat or drink?" Kara shook her head.

"No thanks." With that we all went back into the kitchen and sat around the table, while I got an extra chair for Kara. My mother was trying to be a kind hostess, I could see that, my brother still had a shocked look on his face, and my father was now giving me a cold stare, one that said he was very angry.

"So you're Matt?" Kara asked, turning to my little brother who nodded, "You look exactly as Mike described you." She said, giving him a warm smile.

"Uh, what did he tell you?" he asked, his cheeks starting to blush.

"He told me that you were a nice boy, and that you looked like a rock star in training." She said with a soft chuckle. My mother then cleared her throat.

"How long have you two been married?"

"For two very happy weeks now." This clearly surprised her.

"Only for that long?" She asked, now looking at me.

"Yeah, we were actually planning on going on our honeymoon vacation right after we had finished sharing our good news." I said.

Suddenly I heard a heard my father let out a breath and saw him shake his head, "This is ridiculous!" He said rather loudly. We all turned our attention to him; Kara's smile gone, "What have they been teaching you, son? To forget everything we ever taught you and go marry an animal?" My eyes widened in their sockets, I couldn't believe what I had just heard.

"Do you even realize what you're doing?" He continued on, "You're committing bestiality!" My mother let out a small gasp, and my brother's face went pale. Kara hissed and flashed a row of sharp teeth. I glared at him, feeling my pulse begin to quicken.

"Kara is no animal, and our love is not bestiality!" I said, trying to control my voice.

"Are you really saying this?" my father demanded, "Look in the dictionary! An animal is any creature that is not human!"

"I'm not stupid, Dad. I know the definition." I shot back. "And it just so happens I checked up on this issue." All eyes were on us right now, staring at Kara and me.

"It is true that bestiality is the act of having sex with an animal, but that is not what Kara is," I paused, taking a breath before continuing, "Kara is a sentient creature. She can think, and make a rational decision...and she's a heck of a lot smarter than I'll ever be," This drew a smile from her, "Bestiality in my view is having sex with an animal who can't reason." My dad shook his head.

"Well it's still a sin!"

"How is it?"

"God says that marriage is between one man and one woman" He said, taking a breath. "And she is no woman."

"Are you calling me a male?" Kara hissed at him. My father shook his head.

"No, I mean you are not a woman, as in a human woman." I rolled my eyes.

"True, but look at what God meant." I countered. "He said for one man and one woman. As far as I'm concerned, that means one male and one female." I said, starting to loose my patience with him. He looked like I had cursed at him, his face starting to get red.

"If it means anything to you," Kara started, "We both believe in the same God." My father shook his head, ignoring her.

"And what about when you get her pregnant?" He demanded. "You've always talked about having a child of your own, what are your kids going to look like?"

"There have been other marriages like this." I said, "Our children would look like Kara does." This brought a questioning look from my mother.

"How can you be sure of that?"

"Humans can get our kind pregnant," Kara started to explain, "But whenever children come from a union, they always appear like their mother....it's not understood why this happens. Even our experts can't figure it out."

My father muttered something under his breath.

"What was that Dad?" I asked, and his glare came back at me.

"I said that your perception, son is far off . . . can't you see that this is perversion." That did it for me!

"Perversion?" I yelled, standing up. "How dare you!" My voice now dripped with anger, and I felt a vein begin to throb above right eye

"Watch yourself." He growled. "You're still in my house."

"John, Mike, please, settle down." My mom pleaded, and he shot my mom a glare.

"You support this, Mary?" He asked, looking dumbstruck.

"It's their choice to do this, John." She never got to finish.

"So you do!" he shouted, "I can't believe, you're siding with him!" She gave him a glare of her own.

"Enough!" I shouted, "This is pointless!" Both of my parents looked at me again.

"Is it so hard for you to accept that I've found the love of my life?" I asked my dad. "Or is it the fact that you weren't in control of this decision?"

"What does that have to do with anything?" He demanded.

"Everything!" I countered, "All throughout my life I obeyed you, doing everything you asked me to do." He began to speak again, "No! I listened to you, now you'll listen to me!" He paused, clearly taken aback from my level on intensity,

"I went to school, always being the nice guy, getting the highest grades I could, I did all this for you. I never smoked weed, nor got drunk, and even now you still are with my job, I didn't need to go farther and get a Masters degree, but I did because you wanted me to go farther than you did," I took a breath, " I've obeyed you for 25 years, and now, I go off to college, and find the love of my life, and because she's not the person you want for me, you go crucify me, and insult my wife in front of me!"A silence settled over us then, one so quiet the only thing we could hear was the thud of our own hearts.

"If you can't accept my decision, then I pity you, for your thick skull and you inability to see another point of view." I said, my tone going back to normal.

"Mike..." My mother said, "Please understand, we want the best for you."

"I know, mom. But until you can accept that Kara is the one I love, and that she is my wife...you won't be hearing from me."

"Mike, wait." My mother started.

"No Mom." I said sharply. "If you can't accept my own decisions, then I no longer want to bear my father's last name." My father gave me another glare.

"And I don't' want a son who is such a disappointment." We locked eyes with each other until my brother broke the tension.

"Uh...bro? How are you gonna not have our family name anymore?" Kara decided to answer this one, "Well Matt, in my culture, when two dragons decide to become mates, the one from the lesser clan joins the stronger one...your brother will be accepted into my clan with loving arms." She said evenly, but with a hard glare at my father.

"Then what are you waiting for? Go and join your new clan." my father spat.

"I plan to...Kara, we're leaving." The dragoness nodded,

"Alright honey, I'll be waiting for you outside." With that she got up, and walked out of the room. Slowly I turned and headed out myself, but then stopped, turning back around and looking at my family one last time.

"Know that right now, for the hell you just put me through, I hate you ...but I will never stop loving you." I said and without another word spoken, I followed my wife out the door.

~*~

About 10 hours later, Kara and I were back in our apartment at UW. I sat there, still brooding over this morning. We had taken off and had asked Kara to just drive, I didn't care where. She had obliged and taken several different roads that eventually got us back to within general proximity of the college.

"I swear if I had any idea my parents would act this way I would have never gone." I said, looking into Kara's eyes. The dragoness sighed and kissed me on the cheek.

"Don't worry about it, honey," She said, kissing me again, "I don't hate them for the way they acted."

"Really? I'm honestly surprised you didn't want to slash my father's throat!" Kara giggled at that.

"Well, I thought about it, but decided that your mother and brother were too kind for me to get blood all over them." She said, playfully running a claw across my cheek.

"Always the playful one," I joked and then looked into her eyes, "For real, Kara. I feel horrible about all of this...is here anything I can do to make it up to you?" The dragoness thought for few moments and then nodded, a smile on her face.

"I want you to make love to me." I grinned widely.

"That I can do," I said, starting to remove my shirt. Kara stopped me though and I gave her a questioning look.

"Let me." She whispered into my ear, slipping her claws under the fabric lifting it up. Soon she had me nude.

"Now let me help you out of that dress." I whispered, slowly helping her out of the silken garment.

We both started kissing, our mouths locking up and our tongues playing with each other. I moved in closer, caressing Kara's sides. Her scales were warm and felt very smooth to the touch. She hummed, clearly pleased. I moved in closer, locking lips with her again. Our pulses began to quicken, and soon I was hugging her, scales and skin rubbing against each other with ease.

I broke the kiss, looking into my mate's eyes, seeing the same fire I saw in her the first time I looked into them all those months ago. Kara leaned back against the bed, and grinned. I slowly approached her, coming closer and closer to her body. We looked at each other and with a nod from Kara, we became one. At that moment, all of the troubles of the day melted away, nothing was left but us, and the bed that we lay on.

She hissed and moaned, her legs wrapping themselves around my back, driving me farther into her. Grinning, I ground my hips against her, making her moan and squirm on the bed. I then lowered my head to her neck, feeling her scales against my face. She giggled and licked at my cheeks. Turning I gave her a grin and wrapped my arms around her, hugging my wife.

Kara gave a throaty rumble and wrapped her arms around me, pushing my entire form onto her now. I was virtually pinned on top of her, like a grappler stuck in an opponent's guard. Only this was an experience of pleasure, not of pain. We held our positions, each of us grinding against the other, and both bringing out the most of the moment.

Our culmination eventually approached us. I held onto my wife, hugging her and felt her arms still wrapped around me hugging me tightly to her. She panted and hissed few times and finally, with a soft roar, we climaxed together.

Both of us spent the next few moments hugging and enjoying the afterglow of pleasure. Kara eventually released her grip on me and let me get up, I breathed a small sigh, rolling over and then kissing her cheek. "I think we both needed that." She nodded, kissing me, and then she giggled.

"Oh? What's so funny?"

"Well...for awhile now, I've thought about possibly using a toy." I gave a hearty laugh.

"A toy, eh?" I said, "Well...I'm up for round two if you are." Kara grinned widely and got up.

"Ok Mike. Now turn around and don't look until I tell you to." I nodded and turned my head towards the wall. I could hear Kara open up a drawer and pull something out.

"Ok, you can look." She said a few seconds later. I turned around and gasped. To my complete shock, Kara was wearing a strap on.

"Where the heck did you get one of those?" She giggled and shook her head.

"You'd be amazed what you can find online...now bend over, honey."
