#8 of Claiming a Mate

8 of Claiming A Mate

I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

_I have no excuse for my absence other than my life has been hell these last nine months. However, I'm back now and promise to finish this story as soon as I can. _

.o.O.o.

Alright just so everyone is clear, this series of stories are based off the cartoon *Godzilla: the Series * and not the films or the original cartoon by Hannah Barbara. It has been expressed that there was some confusion, and I am just clearing that up.

.o.O.o.

Nick leaned against the railing of the Staten Island lab, staring out at the bay with a frown upon his face. Godzilla had not been responding to the cry calls. Mendel had tried numerous other tactics as well. Nothing had worked. Either Godzilla was too far out of range, or he was ignoring them. Randy hadn't been responding to any of the calls they had left either.

Coincidence? Nick knew better that to think that.

Elise came out, standing beside her fellow scientist. Nick spared her the briefest of glances when she gripped his shoulder before returning his gaze to the water.

'I think it's time,' Elise stated.

Nick nodded. 'We need him back.'

Elsie nodded.

'Go get him.'

.o.O.o.

Randy chuckled, watching as his overgrown lizard toppled back into the bay. If he didn't know that his mate was play acting, he would have thought that Godzilla had fainted from his kiss. The love and pure admiration that flowed through the link reassured the young hacker that his mate was fine.

Taking a deep breath, Randy stared out over the bay. The cavern may have been a temporary home, but it felt good to be back in his house. It wasn't Staten Island, but he had been his for the last five years. it was just as good.

Godzilla's head broke through the water's surface, breaking his concentration. Red eyes focused on him, sending shivers through his body. Randy shook his head, dreadlocks swinging before his eyes. 'What? One wasn't enough?' he teased.

.: Hardly. I believe you owe me another. :. Godzilla teased right back.

Randy's head jerked back, a surprised yet playful look, "How do you figure that?'

Godzilla lifted his bulk higher out of the water, towering over his mate. While his form was intimidating, he purred reassurance to his mate. Randy flushed at the images that bombarded his mind. His belly tightened in anticipation of some of the more suggestive ideas. Godzilla leaned in closer, breathing over his mate's body.

.: Do you not recall? :. Godzilla asked, leaning in as close as he could before he could crush him mate. .: I caught you down in the caves. As my reward, you will submit to me. :.

Rolling his eyes, Randy crossed his arms. 'I seem to remember someone cheating.'

Godzilla snorted. .: I do not cheat. You were unable to hide. :.

'Yeah, uh ha.' Randy crossed his arms over his chest. 'That's your story, and you're sticking to it.'

An annoyed rumble filled the air--the only warning Randy received. One moment, he could see the clear sky and the rolling waves across the bay, the next he was surrounded by the fleshy walls of his mate's mouth.

'Hey!' Randy cried out, surprised. 'You're cheating, again!'

.: Hardly, :. Godzilla retorted.

The jaws sealed shut, trapping Randy inside as Godzilla dove into the depths of the bay. The mutation had been hesitant in returning with Randy to his second lair. From his last encounter with Yamis, Godzilla was sure the other creature was after his mate, or at his territory. He vowed neither would happen.

His attention shifted inwards as a small hand brushed against his gums.

It will be alright, G-man. Randy stated across the link. Since they had been together, Godzilla had been coaching Randy in using the link the way he did. They were able to communicate silently.

Godzilla flicked the tip of his tongue against his mate's body gently, chuckling as he toppled over. .: Yes, I guess it will be. :.

The rest of the swim was silent. Godzilla pulled himself up into the cavern, sniffing the air before distributing his mate onto the ground. The young human grumbled, trying his hardest to wipe off the saliva coating his body.

.: Leave it, :. Godzilla commanded. Randy glanced up at him. .: It will help keep Yamis away. :.

Randy shuddered. 'Somehow, I don't think that will stop him."

Godzilla rumbled, leaning down to nudge his mate. .: Maybe. But it will let him know that you are claimed. It is the next best thing to coating you in my-- :.

'Randy!'

Both human and mutation froze for a second, taken off guard by the call echoing through the cavern. It was Randy who recognised the call first. Turning, he was startled to see Nick and Elsie emerge from the depths of the canern.

'Guys?' he asked as Godzilla crouched down over his mate.

Elsie smiled, though it was a rather awkward one. Nick was the one to speak.

'We need to talk.'

.o.O.o.

Fair warning: I may vanish again, but be sure that I will return. I promised to complete this story, and that's what I'm going to do.
