#6 of A Fox's Family: A Tale of the House Delgado

As some of you already know, this is an ongoing work involving the entire Delgado family. It's complicated a bit, but all the stories are related and they are involve one another throughout the course of the entire thing. That being said, I'll continue to jump around a bit, but eventually it'll all come together. Of course, it's all in chronological order and these events are more or less happening all at the same time.

Nester cleared coughed softly into his balled hand as he looked out at the couple before him with an awkward sense that he was a bit out of place and while Sebastian's intentions were good natured in inviting his host to meet his latest love interest, the pair were clearly rather busy with each other and it made the good natured fox feel a bit like a third wheel. Together the trio sat at a small table, black with a metal screen and wire rims to flesh it out into something rather comfortable, just outside a small café on the edge of the town. The view was rather lovely of a wide expanse of hills which seemed to roll on endlessly with handsome fields of various vegetables, divided with obvious borders and a spattering of narrow trees. The café itself was nothing spectacular to look at, but had a village charm to it which no building built within the last 70 years could duplicate. The German artist Peter Fox singing out a cool song complete with violin and rhythmic drums on a nearby radio, out of sight, but not out of range of their ears.

"Um," Nester began, breaking the silence that had been building ever since the other fox as his delicate French mink, Bella, were busy exploring each other's lips. Nester had been sitting there for fifteen minutes now and in only ten of those was he engaged in conversation with the two lovers before him. He had learned the Bella was indeed from France and she'd been on an 'extended holiday' to the region. The pair had met a few nights back and had instantly 'fallen in love.' The older fox had rolled his eyes on the inside hearing that one. Sebastian was often 'falling in love,' with pretty much any girl that gave a few flicks in his direction. Nester often wondered if Sebastian even knew what 'love' meant.

"Oh, um, yeah?" replied Sebastian. Breaking the kiss and blushing slightly beneath his fur as he realized his uncle was still sitting there watching. Bella began to blush as well at this fact as she turned away to hide her embarrassment.

"I'll be right back," she whispered to the table and quickly made her retreat towards the bathroom, likely to cool off and let the red flow out of her white cheeks.

"Have you heard any word from Hym?"

"Uh, yeah. Lemme check." Sebastian grabbed his phone from off the table and quickly scanned the screen and the few messages he'd received in the last few disconnected minutes. "He says he's up and to tell you that he can't find Tennison....I guess he wants a lift or something. His head is probably still spinning for yesterday." The fox, who looked a lot like he could be a footballer from his cut, athletic build (something he found worked amazingly well on European girls) chuckled a bit to himself at his brother's expense.

"No, he won't find Tennison. I sent him out for a while on an errand. He won't be back for some time. Tell him I'll pick him up." With that, Nester arose from his chair and turned to leave. Snatching the keys from the table and pocketing them.

"What? Oh, I'm sorry Nester. I just...I like her a lot and well,"

"No, no, you have your fun. It's fine, really. Enjoy the town. I'll be back with Hym in an hour and we can all do something together after that. I think it's unfair to leave him stuck at the house all by himself."

The fox began to walk away, but his nephew got up and placed a firm palm on his shoulder, stopping him in his tracks. Nester turned back and was quickly met with a sudden firm hug around his body. He gave his nephew a few gentle pats on his back, but was still a little confused.

"Thanks Nester. You're awesome," said Sebastian. Clearly he was enjoying his vacation, but Nester already knew that from the long list of girls' names he'd been hearing during the last couple weeks.

"Of course Sebastian," he replied and then took off with a brief wave towards the car.

"Where's your uncle going?" came the familiar voice of Bella a moment later as she returned and nestled herself into the lap of her lover. Her long soft tail swishing with happiness.

"He's going to get Hym. Anyway, where were we?"
