The big brown wolf rolled over in his sleep still dreaming. Im so close to catching that rabbit he thought to himself. He slumped on his haunches in the undergrowth watching the fluffy plump rabbit nibble on some seeds scattered across the ground. He rocked on his hauches back and forth he was ready to pounce when a horrible sound echoed through the trees. The rabbit jumped and ran into the grassy undergrowth. The brown wolf was so shocked by the noise he didn't notice the rabbit had escaped. He looked across the clearing and into the trees beyond. The forest was covered in flames that were slowly making their way towards him. "What in the..." , he broke off as he felt a paw prod him in the side. "Wake up you lazy lump of fur!" , he heard a gruff voice growl from beside him. "Alright, alright geez i'm up.", he replied groggily. "Well you better get up the leader is announcing something.", the bracken colored wolf growled hurridly. What could the leader want at this hour it was already mid-night. He got up and shook off some leaves clinging to his pelt, and walked into the main clearing of the camp.

He walked into the clearing where most of the tribe had gathered already. He walked over and sat down by a light-brown wolf and sat down. "What do you think is going on?", he asked the wolf beside him. "I don't know she just said 'Its important'. I had to go and leave my pups in the nursery so i can't be long.", she replied sleepily. He looked up at the tall stump where the leader announced to the tribe, the leader was sitting there with a grim expression in her eyes. "Everyone gather by the life stump for a tribe meeting.", she called to the remaining wolves who walked out of their dens. After everyone was settled she began, "As most of you well know every full moon the leader will travel to the city to get supplies and news, so i am here to tell you that i will be leaving tonight while the moon shines.". Ripples of confused muttering started in the group of wolves below. "How long will you be gone, and who will be in charge until you return?", asked a lean white wolf closest to the stump. "If it all goes well i will be back in two days time. While i am gone our healer will be in charge.", she replied to the white wolf. Murmers of approval greeted her response but a lone voice of disapproval sounded from the gathered wolves. "How do we know that rogues won't try to attack the camp while you are gone?", growled up to her. "It is all well Darkclaw, i have arranged for increased patrols while i am gone.", she calmly replied. At this she jumped down from the stump and announced in a clear voice, "You may all return to your dens, this meeting is over.".

The big brown wolf walked over to his leader and asked her in a low tone, "Why are you actually leaving you know it is not the full moon?". "I have had a vision that our camp was burnt to the ground. I heard all of my camps screams and saw them running out of terror.", she flinched,"Which is why i am going to the city, to find out if anything could happen.". That was good enough for him he thought but he would still miss her. He licked her muzzle affectionaltly,"I know you are doing your best to help the tribe, just be careful.", he said in a voice rich with compassion and worry. " I will just don't tell anyone what i have just shared with you.", she replied entwining her tail with his. He looked up at her and said in a confident voice,"I would never tell another soul."."Thank you.", she started to walk away, "Goodbye.", she called over her shoulder, she didn't want him to see her cry. "Goodbye my love.", he called after her.

The gray colored leader bent down to drink from a small stream in a clearing. She looked out through the clearing of trees and saw the city of Diabolus in the distance. She turned and sniffed the air, it smelled of machines and many furs crowded together at once. She looked at the sun judging by height in the sky she did some quick estimating. "I have a good six hours until nightfall.", she said to herself. She bagan to slowly make her way down the steep hill pausing occasionally to get a better pawhold. Then the rocks beneath her paws gave away and she yelped as she fell down the hill. She closed her eyes tightly shut and then she waited for the hard embrace of the ground rushing up to meet her, it never came. Slowly she opened her eyes and looked down she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw she had landed on a overhanging branch of a tree. Quickly she scrambled down the trunk and landed on solid ground. "Phew! I really thought i was gonna be wolf fillet there!", she joked to herself. Then she began pacing towards the city which was rapidly getting closer.

She lifted her head, something wasn't right. She squinted her eyes against the glare of the evening sun and saw the city was in ruins. The buildings had all crumbled to the ground and there were a few fires that dotted the streets. She gasped, "What happened here.". She slowly walked into the city on a cracked and ruined street ocasionally avoiding the huge holes in the road. She stared around in dismay at the destruction of her birth city. Then she slumped to ground out-cold with shock.

She opened her eyes to find she was laying in the street at night. She peered across the gloom and saw a faint shape of a fox across the street grinning at her. Then she stood and got a better understanding of her sorrounding. She was in the same place she had passed out but the city was no longer in ruins. The buildings all towered above her head and the road was smooth and without any holes. Then she looked back across the street to the fox. The fox chuckled and ran down a alley. For some odd reason the leader thought she should follow this fox, so she turned and pelted towards the alley. When she reached it she saw the fox round another bend and she quickly raced around it herself. Then she saw the fox run into a tall white building. She raced up to the door panting and pushed it open with one paw. She entered a gloomy dark foyee and turned and walked down a hallway where she heard voices coming from. As she got further down the hallway the voices became clearer and she heard bits of what they were saying. "...too dangerous to use.", "the effects could be disasterous...", "...the city would be destroyed.". She turned a corner and saw a door that was slightly ajar and peered in.

There were two foxes in lab coats looking at a large glass container in the center of the room. They wer muttering to eachother in hushed voices. Then a white flash appeared in the room making her and the foxes jump. A tall figure with broad shoulders wearing a white full body suit that concealed everything but his tail which looked like a foxes. He walked over to the foxes and and asked in a deep voice with an unknown accent, "It's time to release this to the city.", he growled in what was both a threat and an order. "Sir we can't it too dangerous, the outcome of releasing this would be disasterous.", one of the scientists pleaded. Then the mysterious mans paw flashed out and the fox slumped to the ground without a cry dead, bleeding from a wound on his heart. "Release this now or suffer the same fate as him.", the mysterious man gestured to the dead fox. The other fox turned and pulled the lever on the tube containing the glowing white rock. A alarm sounded almost instantly, "Warning element six-thirteen has been released. All personel should evacuate immediantly.", it droned. "It's time the city learns who the real leader is.", the man laughed. Then a blinding flash filled the room and the man was gone. The leader peered across the room and saw the fox running for the door and he ran right through her as if she wasn't there. Im in a dream she thought. Then she looked back at the white rock in the room and then there was a blinding explosion and she woke up with a start.
