Same old morning
A series of chapters about two frinds finally discovering their true feelings for each other.

Main characters:
James - 14 year old, nothing out of the ordinary fox, fairly muscular, short for his age
Tom - 14 year old wold, black fur. Around 3 inches taller than james, about as muscular as James
Sarah + Jack - james' parents, both foxes aged 42

BANG
"James! Wake up, it's time for school. I know it's the last day before summer but it's still school" said a distant voice. James only groaned and rolled over.
BANG
"I swear young man, that if you do not open this door, I am going to come into there and drag you out of bed" the voice said again. This time it got James' attention. "SHIT" he thought, looking under his covers, he was stark naked and had a full blown boner.
"Err... coming mom" James shouted as he desperately looked for a pair of boxers to put on. "Damn it" he thought as he tripped over a book, landing on his manhood. He gasped as he fell flat on his face and rolled onto his back.
"James honey, is everything alright"
"Yeah mom, just tripped an' all, I'm gunna have a shower before I come down"
"Ok honey don't be too long"
"That was a close one" James thought, "maybe I should start wearing boxers in bed"
He fumbled around in the dark, his eyes still blurry, looking for the door to his en-suite. Once he found it he stumbled in and flicked the light switch. He admired himself in the mirror for a little while, his red and white fur ruffled from sleeping, then walked into the shower and turned the tap.
"ARGH THAT'S FREEZING" he yelled, promptly jumping out. He stood there for a couple of minutes, growling at the shower, waiting for the water to warm up. Once it had done he stepped back in and began to lather himself in shampoo.
Back downstairs James' mom was cooking breakfast when two paws covered her eyes.
"Guess whoo!!" said a playful voice
"Hmm, I wonder, could it be my oaf for a husband seeing as he is one of three people living in this house, one is cooking breakfast and the other is in the shower. Is bacon and Eggs ok for breakfast dear?" she replied
"Oh Sarah, you're no fun" said James' father. He looked exactly the same as his son, except of course he was several inches taller and the hair around his ears had begun to grey
"Jack, I'm still fun" Sarah said, batting him lightly with the morning paper, "tell you what, let's go out somewhere nice tonight. I heard from Lucy that a new restaurant had opened up downtown"
"Ok then, remind me to book a table though, you know how busy new restaurants are. Anyway, where's James?"
"In the shower, I swear that boy is hiding something. Every time I go to wake him up he always seems to scrabble around"
"I do wonder what he's trying to hide" said Jack in a sarcastic voice, remembering his own teenage years "..you wouldn't understand.. you're a woman"
"Oh Jack, you don't think I've seen my own son naked before, I gave birth to him remember"
"I know, I know"
"He'll be bringing home girls any day now" Sarah said, remembering the time she first met Jack.
"Or boys!" piped up her husband
"Well, whoever he brings home I just hope he's happy" she said giving a kiss on top of Jack's head. He turned and gave her a kiss back and soon their mouths were locked together. Neither of them wishing to let go. Suddenly they heard a loud thump as a schoolbag dropped onto the kitchen floor
"Ewwwwwwwww" said James jokingly.
"We'll continue this tonight" whispered Jack playfully into Sarah's ear, causing her to giggle. "Morning Son, been doing the polishing again" said Jack sinking at his son.
"DAAAAD" said James in an embarrassed and slightly disgusted voice.
"Oh Jack, stop teasing him" Sarah said, once again hitting him with the newspaper. She turned to James "Honey, dad and I are going out tonight. I will leave money for pizzas and soda in the hallway. You can have some friends over if you like"
"Thanks mom" said James excitedly.
"Now hurry and eat your breakfast before you miss your bus" said jack, standing up. "I'm off to work dear" he said, giving Sarah a quick peck on the cheek and a wink.
"Byeee" said Sarah and James in unison.
"Don't forget to remind me to book a table for tonight" said jack, walking out the back door. They soon heard the roar of an Aston Martin starting up, and the crunching of gravel from the driveway as the car drove away.
James' family was fairly well off, they lived in a large house in a nice neighbourhood. However, his parents had worked hard to get where they were and only after twenty years of hard work had they been able to slow down. His mom used to be a counsellor at a psychiatric hospital for the young but she found this too stressing and decided to set up an online counselling business. This meant that she was at home most of the day, apart from when she went shopping, as she ran the business from home. James' father had become CEO of the insurance company he worked for about a year ago and with his new job came a huge pay rise. They'd offered to James the opportunity to go to a private school, but he decided to stay at his current high school since that was where all his friends were.
He finished his breakfast, kissed his mom and walked to the bus stop. When the bus came he clambered aboard and took a seat near the back. At the next stop he saw Jenny get on "Oh god" he thought "HER!" Everyone knew Jenny fancied James, she was a short husky, slightly chubby as well. Nobody really liked her since she was so hostile to everyone but they all knew she fancied him and often teased her about it. She spotted the vacant spot next to James and began to walk up the length of the bus. Luckily for him though a black wolf pushed past her and grabbed the spot. She looked rather disappointed and found another seat.
"'Sup Tom" said James
"Alright buddy" said the black fox. Tom was James' best friends, they'd known each other since kindergarten, had the same birthday and only lived two miles apart. They knew everything there was to know about each other, except one little secret......
