#15 of Vadim

Gahhhh this took forever. Way longer than the rest of my chapters, hopefully the rest will be as long as this. But its my fave so far ^^ I will edit in a few hours after posting, I'm just glad its finally done lol. Enjoy~

Vadim woke up the next morning still feeling jolted from the training the day before. His mate Sig was laying his head on Vadim's chest, and the arctic fox couldn't help but think about how cute the smaller fox looked. Vadim began to stroke the fox's black and splotched grey ears softly as he slept. He then sat back and continued to pet his mate, but started to think about everything that was going on. How just not too long ago he was living on the streets, afraid to do even the smallest of things. Then how he met his mate, who saved his life and was kind enough to bring him in his home, with the permission of his parents.

'Oh shit!' Vadim thought to himself. 'We need to go back to the city and get Sig's parents out here, it would be much safer.'

Just then his phone vibrated; he got a text from Ivan:

'Vadim, you and the rest of the group need to get back in to Lumen City, something big is brewing and you need to be here if something happens.'

The fox muttered under his breath as he slowly shook Sig to wake him.

"Sig, we need to get back to the City, Ivan just sent me a text saying that something big is gonna happen."

The groggy red and silver fox slowly cracked opened his eyes, then gave Vadim a wet lick to the face.

"It's too early though hun." The smaller fox said as he rested his head back on Vadim's chest. Vadim just smiled and scooted out from under him and put some clothes on.

"I'll meet ya out in the dining room, Sig. Just get ready to go please..."

With that the black colored fox left the room and went in to the dining area, where Pavel and Phil were sitting and talking with Jabari. Vadim wasted no time informing his friends of the news.

"We need to get back to the city today." He said with a stern voice.

The black jackal looked at him with a stern face. "You are in no condition to head back little one."

"But I was told something big is going to happen and we need to head back as soon as possible."

The big jackal stood up, clearly taller than Vadim. "I will let you go, but first I must give you one more lesson before you leave."

Jabari then walked towards the outside door and walked out, signaling Vadim to follow him. The jackal explained himself a little more as they walked towards the clearing they were in yesterday.

"I cannot let you go back without a little more basic training. You know how to release your inner energy, but you must learn how to control it, and bring it up on demand."

The sable colored fox nodded as he sat down with the jackal.

"Now Vadim, I want you to do the same thing you did yesterday, but focus on the raw energy instead of the light. Start out by clearing out your mind, and meditating a little to find your balance. Tell me when you are ready."

Vadim closed his eyes and meditated for a few minutes, before reopening them and letting out a deep breath.

"I am ready."

Jabari gave away the slightest smirk. "Now, we are going for speed here, remember this. Imagine the quickness of lightning, that is my best advice."

Vadim nodded and closed his eyes again, feeling the warmth and energy of the sun. At first he imagined the light, but then started to think a little quicker. He felt the energy hitting him a little harder as he warmed up a bit more. He then tried to focus all of the energy in one place and pushed his paws outward, but instead of electricity a super bright blue beam of light shot out. Jabari smirked again before speaking.

"You were very close, just give it a little more time now and you should be there fox."

Vadim closed his eyes once more, this time feeling the energy build up a little quicker than last time. He held on to it for as long as he did the time before, and was just about to release when he remembered what the jackal had told him. The fox tried to balance himself out a little to hold it in, and the second he tried to balance he felt something give him a slight jolt. Out of reflex he pushed his paws outward and shot a blue bolt of electricity towards the sky. The fox panted as a little steam rose from his fur.

"Spectacular little one! You are a special fox, being able to learn this quickly. Now tell me how you did that, so I can make sure you're doing it right."

The excited vulpine could barely contain himself. "Well, I started out by feeling the suns energy, but instead of light I was focusing more on the energy and the flowing particles. It quickly got me to where I was before with the light, but this time I held on a bit more and tried to balance everything out. The moment I tried to balance it made it unbalanced and I felt a crack deep inside of me. I released and that happened!" The black fox's tail was wagging around a little in a very excited manner.

"Good boy, Vadim. Now try that five more times and we can move on to what I wanted to really show you." The jackal said in a very warm voice.

Vadim repeated the process five more times, each time being able to do it a little quicker than the last. By the fifth time, he was able to muster up a bolt of lightning in six seconds with ease.

"Fantastic job fox. Now let's try something different." The jackal reached into the pocket of his long pants and pulled out a sheathed blade. When he unsheathed the blade, his blue tribal markings started to glow along with some ancient looking inscriptions on the blade.

"This is an ancient talisman from some of the earliest wars known to my people. It has many uses..."

The blade turned from blue inscriptions to yellow as Jabari flicked his wrist, creating a ball of light the size of a baseball that shot out and exploded in to nothing as it hit a nearby tree.

"... But today we will focus on only one. Now, you can do this without the blade when there is a source of electricity around; whether it be a power line, electrical outlet, or even thunderstorms. Only problem is, these aren't available all the time, so watch this..."

The blade turned from yellow to electric blue again as the jackal stood up and closed his eyes, holding the blade in front of him with both paws firmly grasping the handle. He then pulled back and sliced through the air, and as he did so electricity started to form around the blade. The electricity increased more until an electric rift formed that was three feet tall. Suddenly in a loud electric pop Jabari disappeared in to a bolt of lightning and then reappeared with another loud pop over fifty feet away.

Vadim sat in awe and couldn't help but let out a gasp.

"Whoah..." The fox said as his jaw dropped.

"Now as you can see, this can be very useful while under attack as both an offense and defense." Jabari yelled from where he was standing. "Of course, that was more of a defensive move, now let me show you an offense."

The jackal sliced through the air again and turned in to a bolt of lightning that shot in to a tree twenty feet away and made the tree explode in a huge cloud of electricity and smoke. After the smoke dissipated a little, a slightly panting jackal stood in the middle.

"That however, I recommend you use as a last resort, because it gets a little messy with flesh and fur." Jabari yelled again. The jackal started making his way back to Vadim, which was a short distance. "Now it's your turn, little fox."

Vadim shifted around nervously as he walked up and handed him the ancient blade. When he grasped the handle, a foreign language appeared in yellow on the blade that Vadim could vaguely understand. He stared at it puzzled for a minute, and Jabari noticed this.

"If you are wondering why your markings are different from mine, it's because we hail from different lands. That is your ancient, native language Vadim. I have many books in my library to help you study and understand it, but for now we must focus on the task at hand. Now, I want you to do the same thing you normally do to create a bolt of lightning, but this time instead of releasing it through your paws, release it through the blade itself. When you feel the crack, swipe down to create the electric rift and point the blade in the direction you want to go. Believe it or not, you will be able to see where you are going, and when you want to stop flick the tip of the blade up."

Vadim nodded nervously as he stood with his paws gripping the handle of the blade in front of him. He closed his eyes, feeling himself fill with energy. When he felt the crack of lightning inside of him, he sliced the blade as quickly as he could, and then felt a jolt as he flew through the air. Time seemed to slow down as he looked forward, and in what felt like three seconds he flew over one hundred feet before flicking the blade back up. Before the fox hit the ground he started to run in the air to catch himself, which ended up making him trip and fall when he hit the ground anyway. Jabari led out a very loud laugh from the long distance away.

"Don't try to run, try to stop yourself. Plant both footpaws firmly when you dismount and you will stop. Try it again in my direction and stop in front of me"

The fox got back up and turned around, trying the same thing. As he flew through the air, he could see the faint outline of Jabari giving him an evil looking smile. Vadim kept at him, and just a few feet before he was going to collide, he flicked the blade up, but this time stomped both of his footpaws hard and stopped just inches away from the tall jackal. The sable jackal looked down at him with the same smile he had before.

"You are ready to return to the city fox. You'd better get going, I want you to be there before nightfall."

Vadim sighed a little. "Ok. Thank you very much for the lessons, I would love to come back out here to learn more from you."

Jabari turned his smile in to more of a warm smile. "Of course little one. I would love to teach you my ways. Besides, I enjoy the company." He said as he patted the slender foxes back.

Vadim smiled at the gesture. "Would it be possible to come back here when we're done with this business in the city? I feel like the faster I learn this the more beneficial it will be."

The sable jackal had sat back down and crossed his legs, closing his eyes as he started to meditate. "I will be waiting here."

Vadim nodded and began to walk towards the house when he realized everyone had crowded around nearby, watching him and the jackal. They were all congratulating him and cheering him on, saying how great he looked during his lessons. The young fox blushed a little.

"Thanks guys, but we really need to get going now. I don't want anything bad to happen while we're still out here." The group nodded and got what little stuff they had brought and headed out.

*************************************************************************************

The small group was well out of the forest and on the road, about to head in to the slummed part of the drive. Vadim, being unconscious before, was new to this. Once again, Phil told the rest of them to prepare their weapons in case of an attack or suspicious activity. Vadim was the only one that was unarmed in the van as he stared out of the window, looking ahead of them in to a big grassy valley with civilization ahead.

After a few moments the van slowed down a bit as they pulled in to the run down shack city, and many tattered clothed furs were milling about, minding their own business. Vadim paid close attention to them, making sure none had any hidden weapons. After a short while a quick moving brown flash caught his eye. He perked his ears up and saw it again, realizing it was a small fur running, with a bigger lion not far behind.

"Stop the car!" Vadim yelled. Phil slammed on the brakes, and without thinking twice Vadim ran out of the van and began to chase the smaller fur to get a better look. After he pushed through a group of slumfurs he noticed that it was a fennec fox, running for his life it seemed. Vadim was quite a bit far in front of the lion when suddenly the fennec found himself in a dead end with walls surrounding him.

Vadim slowed down and approached him slowly. The desert fox looked panicked and whimpered a little as he backed up against the wall.

"It's ok, little fox, I'm here to help." Vadim's 6'3" body stood much taller than the smaller fox, offering him a little bit of protection from the quickly approaching lion. The black and silver fox stood up straight as the bigger, muscled lion stopped five feet in front of him. His brown mane made him seem taller, and he wore brown pants, no shirt, and had armor across his chest and shoulders. Vadim could see the handle of a sword on the lions back.

"You mind moving out of the way, foxy?" The lion growled.

"No. What business do you have with him?" Vadim growled back.

"He's my slave, I rightfully own him. Now move so I can take back my property." He said, with his teeth now showing. Vadim looked back for a sec and realized that the cowering fox was wearing a collar with a lock on it.

"Hmm. Nope. Can't let you do that. I am officially saving this fox from you." Vadim said as he stared in to the lion's golden eyes.

The big cat chuckled. "And what are you going to do? You are unarmed foxy!"

Vadim smiled, happy that he could put his powers to the test. He closed his eyes for a second, and then reopened them to show that they were glowing electric blue as his tattoos showed up around his body. He raised his left paw, which had small bolts of lightning forming around it.

"You do not want to see what I can do." Vadim said in a deep voice. The lion gasped and dropped his jaw.

"And I'll blow your head off before you even try anything." The lion turned around to see a shorter red and silver fox with a handgun pointed at his head.

"O... Ok guys... He's all yours!" The lion said as he turned the other direction and ran off.

When he was clear out of site, Vadim and Sig looked at each other and laughed.

"I think we made him pee himself, Sig! Ok, now, we better get going. Come on little fox, we'll talk more in the van."

Vadim playfully tugged on his collar and pulled the tan fennec along with him. Not a single word was said as they walked back to the van, not even from the slumfurs. Vadim looked at the nametag on the collar of the fox, and it read 'NURU'. When they got to the van the rest of the group was standing outside of it, waiting for their return.

"And who would this be?" Asked Phil as they all entered the van. Vadim, Nuru, and Sig sat in the back seat of the van together.

"His name is Nuru, I saw him being chased and figured he was in trouble so I saved him from... Well at the very least the wrath of his master."

"Not the greatest of choices stealing a slave from someone around here." Phil said with a smirk. "But I guess if it helps out a fellow fox, its ok. Fennecs are quite rare around here. Where are you from, Nuru?"

The fox, who was wearing barely any kind of clothing, just whimpered and got close to Vadim and hugged him. Sig kept a careful eye on him, which produced a mean glare from Vadim.

"Well we can talk more later I guess." Phil said with a chuckle.

Vadim took a good look at the little lock that clipped on to the collar around the foxes neck. "Hey Sig, do you have a pair of dykes in your bag?"

"Sure do." Replied the fox. He fished out a pair of cutters from his bag and pawed them over.

"Do you think you can get me a blanket too? I think I saw one behind our seat." Vadim said as he positioned the cutters around the lock. Sig nodded just as Vadim cut the lock off, and Nuru wasted no time in getting the tight leather collar off.

Sig pulled a blanket out from behind the seat and put it over the smaller fox. Shortly after, Nuru grabbed Vadim's paw and brought it over to his crotch area. The sable fox tilted his head, and Nuru gave him a 'trust me' look. Vadim went to pull away, but decided to trust him. When his paw touched the smaller foxes sheath area, Vadim could feel some kind of metal there instead.

"Ohhhhhhhh." Vadim said aloud.

"What is it?" Sig questioned.

"I think our new friend here... Umm... Has little restraint goin on down south." Vadim said as he handed the fennec a pair of cutters.

The tan fox disappeared for a minute under the blanket, and then came back out with a metal contraption that he tossed out of the window. He then gave Vadim another hug.

"Thank you so much for saving me." Nuru whispered in to the bigger fox's ear.

"Can you please tell us what was going on?" Vadim asked him.

The smaller fox sighed and looked down, then scooted closer to Vadim. Sig just put his ears back and stared at both of them.

"My name is Nuru." The fennec said in a hushed voice. "I am... Err... Was a slave to Master. I never knew his name. He was just Master. Master was a very strong and powerful person back in our homeland, but one day we got kicked out of our country and came here. Since then he really lost himself, and couldn't recover. We ended up back there, in the slums. He told me I was to go out on the streets and sell my body for money, so he could eat at night. I didn't want to, I wanted to be only his, but he demanded me to. So I went outside to sell myself, with him watching every move behind me, and I decided I didn't want this when a big wolf walked up to me, wanting to buy me for the night. So I ran, and that's when you guys saved me. When master bought me, at the age of 15, I was told I had to obey his every command. But I could tell that you could show me a way out of that."

Vadim looked at him and smiled, petting his big ears softly. "Well I for one am happy to save a fellow fox from slavery."

*************************************************************************************

The rest of the ride went by smoothly, as did the ride through the caverns. The group all stopped at Phil's new underground house to create a plan.

"Ok." Vadim started. "Nuru, I don't want you to get hurt, so stay down here with Phil and Pavel. Alls we need to do is go up and get Sig's parents, then come back. It should be nice and simple"

"I'm going with you." Phil butted in. "Just in case something happens. I want to be with you guys to help. Pavel, stay down here with the desert fox. We'll be back soon"

The raccoon and smaller arctic fox hugged as the group split up. Before leaving, Phil and Sig dropped off their long rifles for smaller handguns. Vadim picked up a handgun as well, and then remembered something.

"Hey Sig, remember that bag of weapons we got a long time ago?" The red and silver fox nodded. "We brought them here, right?" He nodded again. "Phil, where are they? I need to look through them real quick."

The coon left the room for a minute, and then came back with a duffel bag. Vadim shifted through the various weapons before coming across a very old looking dagger. When he picked it up, it began to show ancient markings that glowed blue in his paw. The fox smiled, knowing exactly what it was. He put the dagger in his belt, and looked through the bag a little more. He then came across a very old looking bow, and when he picked it up it also began to glow with ancient looking markings. The fox looked at it, a little confused because there were no arrows for it. He decided to put it back and gave the bag back to Phil.

"I'm not sure what that bow does, but when we leave back to Jabari's we'll bring it with us and ask. Now let's get outta here."

Without another word the trio left the house and headed to a nearby elevator. When they stepped on the platform, Vadim bowed his head to the jackal, and when he did his tribal markings began to glow blue. A faint smile crept over the middle aged jackal's face.

"Ah, so I see you have learned the ways of true power. Welcome, brother. Assist me in raising this vessel."

Vadim gave him a little smirk. "I'm still new at this, how should I help?"

"Feel the energy course through you." He replied. "Then focus it through your feet, and finally under the vessel. It will help with my aging bones."

Vadim nodded and closed his eyes, doing just as he was told. The already rising platform began to rise a little faster, and the fox could feel that it was quite heavy. He wondered how the jackal did it alone all these times. They finally reached the top and got off the platform. They ended up in the park near Sig's home, and casually walked to the tall building. They noticed that there were quite a few more cops out than normal, but didn't think much of it.

The trio finally reached the right floor, and headed down the hallway to Sig's home. It was now mid-afternoon, and he didn't think much about what he was going to tell his mom. When he clicked the door open, she was standing in the living room, looking furious.

"Where. The Fuck. Have you been?" She said very seriously.

"I was..." Sig started.

"No. Don't you say a fucking word. I know exactly what's going on. It's all because of this new fuckin fox." She began to circle around them, making the trio move towards the kitchen. From down the hall Sig's dad, James, came out.

"Boys, I tried to reason with her but she broke." He said.

"Oh, so you're in on this too, oh husband of mine? Well you will regret it." She paused and looked out the window, smiling. The sounds of gunshots began to ring out from down below. "You will all regret it." The she-fox pulled out a cell phone and dialed a few numbers before getting a quick response. "Hi Marc. This is Carol, have the chopper ready to pick me up from the roof and escort me out of this city. And make sure you send in a special task force to take out all of the foxes on floor 39."

She hung up the phone and smiled evilly at them. "You see, I've worked directly under Jono for some time now, being an insider. He agreed to let me go free for any information leading to the uprising against him. I was shocked to learn my own son, hmmf, you're not even my son, anyways, was the one that was helping lead it. And to think I was going to bring you all with me. Pity. Well I hope you enjoy your last few moments on this planet, bye James. It's too bad you got mixed up in the wrong end of this."

The red fox opened the front door and walked out, but just before she closed the door Phil grabbed his pistol and brought it up. Before he could squeeze off a shot, Carol's eyes turned red as red tribal tattoos glowed on her arms and chest. She shot a ball of fire straight at Phil's paw, burning it and making him drop the gun. Without thinking twice Vadim retaliated with a bolt of lightning straight to her chest. She screamed as she flew back and hit the wall, a look of fear on her face as she sat there.

The stunned fox hobbled up and stumbled off down the hallway with Vadim right on her tail. He was about to send another bolt when suddenly she took off very fast, gliding across the floor with a trail of fire behind her. She then quickly got in the elevator and closed the door to it. Vadim knew better than to chase her and decided she would have to wait for another day.

When he turned around, there were two armed police Dobermans at the end of the hallways with their guns pointed at Vadim. Just as they shot, Vadim pulled out the dagger and ripped open an electric rift, quickly flying through it and behind the dogs. He landed and pulled out his own handgun and shot both of them in the back of the head before they even realized what had happened.

Vadim ran back in to the room to see Sig helping out Phil's burned paw. It looked a little charred, but other than that ok.

"Guys, we need to leave NOW!" Vadim yelled. "No time to get anything, we really gotta go back to the caverns. Phil, I know your paw is jacked up, but if you can please use your left one to shoot. I know you're a good enough shot to do it, let's go!"

Without another word the group left the room and headed down the stairs that the Doberman guards came up from. Sig picked up one of the rifles from them as they ran by. The group half ran half vaulted down the stairs, going down flight after flight like it was nothing. About halfway down a red fox in his twenty's ran in to the stairwell.

"What the hell is going on?!" Yelled the fox. "They just ran in and grabbed my family and left, I managed to run away before they could get me."

The group all stopped, and Sig gave Vadim a look. "We need to help him, Vaddy." The black fox sighed, and turned to the new red one.

"Where did they go?" He asked.

"Down the hallway towards the elevator, they should still be there, I just ran here to escape."

"Sig, meet me at the bottom of the stairwell, I'll be down there soon." The red and silver fox nodded as he watched his mate run in to the hallway, the door slamming behind him.

Right off the bat Vadim ran in to a big cat cop. Before the feline could even react the fox had his pistol out and shot him in the head. He heard the screams down at the other end of the long hall near the elevator of some distressed furs, and Vadim figured it was the family. He then pulled out the dagger and ripped open a rift, flying down the hallway at lightning speed. He stopped just before the group of furs and stared them down. The look of fear came over the faces of the four cops and 3 family members, what appeared to be the parents and a younger fox in her teens.

Vadim put both of his paws out and hit the nearest police furs with direct bolts, sending them flying as they let go of the parents.

"Let the kid go and I'll spare you." Said Vadim in a very deep voice, his paws festering with electricity and his eyes glowing blue. Without a word he let the kid go and ran off, leaving one last cop that nearly pissed himself and fell to the floor, cowering. "Come on, foxes, you are safe with me."

The elevator door opened and they all went in. Vadim closed the door and held down the button so it wouldn't open for anyone else as they went down. The Mother was the first to speak up.

"Thank you so much for saving us."

"We're not out of the woods yet." Vadim replied. The elevator hit the bottom floor and Vadim was already recharged and ready to fight more. When the door opened, he was surprised to see not a single fur in the entire lobby. On the big TV was Jono the ferret, telling everyone that all foxes needed to be quarantined and exterminated because they were a threat to his nation. He led the family casually past the lobby desk, which Vadim took a quick look in to see the camera monitors for the outside area.

When he looked over he saw a fox bellhop hunkered down behind the desk. The young fox was shaking and whimpering, and Vadim felt bad for him.

"Hey fox." The fox glanced at Vadim, then lifted his head to give him a full look over. "You're safe with us, follow me."

"Ar... Are they gone?" The young fox replied.

Vadim nodded at this. "There is nobody out here, but we need to run when we hit the streets to the nearby park, now let's go."

Right when The black fox finished his sentence, he saw the stairwell door burst open as Sig, James, Phil, and the other fox ran in. The fox reunited with his family and hugged them all.

"Ok guys." Vadim spoke up. "I'm an arctic fox, so I've been through this before. We need to run as fast as we can to the park. I hope once we hit it we will be clear. It's not too far, so really give it your all, ok?"

The grouped nodded, and Vadim casually walked to the big glass doors and looked outside. There were cars everywhere, as well as military and police forces. Many furs ran around in panic, not knowing where to go. Vadim sighed as he watched foxes getting thrown in to trucks down the street and hauled off.

Sig came up behind him and rested his paw on his mates shoulder.

"We can't save all of them, Vaddy."

"I know." He replied. "But it still sucks. Badly. Now let's go."

Without another word the fox pushed the door open and began to sprint down the street. He stopped and motioned for the group to keep running when he noticed there were a few straggling foxes running amongst the other furs.

"All of you foxes!" He yelled out loud. "Follow us to safety!" They all stopped and turned, then began to run in the same direction as them, even a few non-foxes doing the same.

After running for a little bit he realized he had a group of about 15 furs trailing behind him. He smiled and stopped, letting Sig lead the way in to the park. Vadim waited for all of the furs to pass and made sure there was no one else, when he noticed down the street about 50 yards away, there was a lone little fox. There was a big lizard in military clothing slowly walking up to him with his arms extended, about to pick up the sobbing little fox. Vadim had a flash back of himself as a kit, scared and all alone on the day just like this.

The black fox quickly ran down the street to save the fox, and pulled out his pistol. The lizard saw him charging towards him and pulled up his rifle to shoot, but stopped dead in his tracks when a bullet from Vadim's pistol lodged in to his brain. The scalie fell backwards, and Vadim kept running and picked up the little fox. Now that he was closer he looked to be a little Cross Fox of about ten years old. He quickly ran back to the tail end of the group that had entered the trail leading back to the caverns.

Vadim got to the front of the line with Sig and his group with the sobbing little fox still in his arms. The trail ahead seemed very clear and silent, as they still heard gunshots throughout the city and the screams of the innocent. The arctic foxes heart sunk, feeling bad that he couldn't help all of them. Everyone was silent as they walked through the shaded trails, most of them lightly panting from running. After the short hike through the park, they ended up at the rock formation that led to the underground caverns. Vadim walked up to it and moved a rock showing the hidden keypad, and then punched in the code. The rock door opened and one of the hooded jackal's was standing there.

"Nonono." He said. "I cannot let this many in here, they need to go to the immigration elevator."

"Brother, the city is under attack against foxes, if we do not let them in they will be killed." Vadim replied. The jackal went silent and walked outside, taking off his hood and perking his ears up. He heard the shooting off in the distance and nodded his head.

"Very well. Come inside, all." The large group entered the room and began to file down the stairs. The rock doors closed behind them as they reached the level with the platform. They all managed to fit on it, and Vadim helped the Jackal lower it down. Once it entered the open air of the cavern, almost everyone on the platform oooed and awed at the views they saw.

Before Vadim knew it they had stopped and they were all getting off of the platform. Everyone cheered him on and asked for his name and thanked him for saving them.

"Thank you all, all I want to do is help you guys out. My name is Vadim Sosnovka, and I am one of the few arctic foxes left around. Now you can go wherever from here, but I'd advise checking in to the hotel here, it has many rooms and it's free. You will get info about this place and everything there."

With that the large group all split up, and Vadim, with the whimpering kit still in his arms, headed to Phil's house with his group. He decided to get a little more info from the kit in his arms.

"What is your name, little cross fox?" He asked.

"They took Mom and Dad... They're gone." The little fox sobbed.

Vadim held him close as he walked. "I know kit, I know. They did the same to my parents, but everything will be ok. Ok?"

The little fox nuzzled in to his chest and whimpered a little. "My name is Emil." He said through a sob.

Vadim petted Emil softly on his head. "Hi Emil, I'm Vadim. I'll take care of you for right now."

"Ok..." Said Emil.

The group walked up to Phil's house and entered it. Pavel ran up to Phil, seeing that he was hurt.

"What happened to him??"

"They did it..." Vadim said with a sigh. "They are getting all of the foxes from above. Not just the arctics."

"What are we gonna do?" Sig asked.

Vadim put Emil down on the couch and sat next to him. "We need help from outside. We are going back to Jabari's. He says he's the leader of the jackals, so he can help us. Let's rest for a little bit, and we'll head back over there."
