Foreword to 'Diary Of A Relationship':
Things aren't always what they seem to be...but sometimes they are exactly what they seem to be.
The story:
First of all, I think I should say, that,, this is a form of a sequel to 'The Wish Of An Angel'. a story that I wrote as a Christmas gift for my mate. Which was...sickeningly sweet I know. While the other story was based upon true facts, it was still happy and cheery. Though, now I need a way to express issues and events that happen at the moment. So I created this...
The story 'Diary Of A Relationship' is a means for me to express myself. It also shows in a way that relationships don't only contain ups, and good things. But they can come with problems, hurdles, issues that need to be overcome.
A friend of mine said recently to me:
'A lot of the bad things are overlooked so it's easier for people to like and want relationships... I guess that could be the problem because people think relationships are all grand, so they want in one desperately.'...'But I'm careful, whether that's good or not, I don't know. I realize that there aren't always happy things in relationships, and I hope that it's not all happy. Overcoming difficult times makes relationships stronger.'
I agree with him, and in a way, this is partly a reflection upon my own life, but also any thoughts and feelings that I have on relationships I can write down.
It is a form of diary, as it is my take on situations that I find myself in. this isn't meant to be any great novel, just my own personal opinions.
Although some things have been altered from what happened in real life. I try to keep my stories as true to reality as possible, therefore I have taken the fursona's from two good friends to use as the main characters. However what they both do and say does in no way reflect what my friends would do in real life. I just can't easily invent my own characters, so require the use of other people's fursona's.
The Inspiration:
I was first inspired to do this, when I felt a bit down about my own relationship at one point, and writing about my feelings seems to help me feel better...sort of like comfort food helps too I guess. I find it a very constructive way of venting, as it produces stories, and I feel better afterwards. I am up usually until the early hours of the morning, and it's the time when least people are available to talk to, so it's also the time when I reflect the most. As a result I write when I'm at the most tired part of the day, which does reflect on the written work (sadly). And i hate going over things again, so I try to get as many people to proof read it as possible. Also, not having a job, nor being in a course at the moment, it means that i can sleep better at night knowing that I've done something constructive. It is also a means for me to improve, and develop, my writing skills and sex scenes (seeing as how I have no real knowledge on the matter save for the yiff scenes I have read myself. So it's a positive thing on many levels.
I only write for my own personal gain. By that I mean, that I only write when I want to, and what I want to. I hate writing because I'm told to. I find it hard enough to finish anything that I start as it is. Probably why I hated English and literature at school, because I had to do it. And now I find myself oddly drawn to it more so than I have ever been.
The Characters:
The main characters in this story are:
Tylix: The white arctic fox
Bivir: The timber wolf.
Both of these are fursona's taken from friends, and therefore remain under their copyright, fully.
Any further characters used, will be stated at the beginning of the chapter, as I do not know who (if anyone) else will be in the story, and when.
However (as stated above), I have only taken their fursona's, and not any of their character traits. For example, in the first chapter Tylix is obsessing over his PS game, and neglecting his mate (Bivir). Something which the real Tylix would never ever do in real life. But I needed physical forms for my two main characters, and so, the two agreed.
The Warning:
Oh yea, I forgot about that. I'm putting this at the beginning, so that I won't have to bother repeating it every single time...
Well it's a story about a gay relationship, so there will be scenes of homosexual interactions on a sexual level. I highly doubt that there will be any major hardcore yiff scenes, beyond anal, as it's not a reality, and writing about it would be defying the truth of the relationship. There might be some threesomes or orgies, but I don't know yet...I haven't written the story yet. HA!
I apologise for the length of the intro/foreword, it was only meant to be a paragraph or so long, but I had to make it longer, because yiffstar has a limit of at least 5000 characters for a submission...which I think is great, as it means that even a short story is a certain length. But being stubborn I refused to put it into the first chapter of my story. Of course now, I'll probably find out that my first chapter is too short. Grrrr. Oh well.
Comments and advice is greatly appreciated, as I am new to writing, and would very much like to improve. So please, by all means, tell me what I can do to improve.
