#15 of The Silver Dragon

Well sorry it's been a while... I've had lots on my mind and well.... thats not really an excuse. sorry its a little short I'll try to make sure the next one is longer. credit to artist and thanks for reading!

"All is going according as foretold." A strange voice said aloud. "Soon the fated shall all meet up, and then I shall teach them of their destinies."

The figure smiled and stepped toward the mysterious crystal sphere directly in front of him. The strange artifact appeared completely smooth and transparent, except for a strange screen in the centre which was showing Sky and Silver! The stranger intently studied the orb, watching the two's every move to see if they got into any trouble.

"It's good to see that they avoided conflict, capture by the police would have been an impossible situation to fix." The figure said. His voice was deep and respectable, like a nobleman.

He then chuckled to himself and returned his gaze to the screen in the orb. Somehow this orb was keeping a constant eye on both Sky's and Silver's exploits. But was different from any camera or technology the humans possessed. It appeared to be some sort of "magic" because it wasn't linked to any sort of power source and it had no scientific way of being able to see and watch the two's every move.

"Soon very soon..... All will become clear."

Silver had flown most of the night, the cold night air was harsh and exhausted him far quicker than usual, probably because he wasn't used to flying with extra weight. He surveyed the land as he flew, it was different to his world, and this specific area had lots of greenery and rivers that he found to be both fascinating and beautiful. He also enjoyed looking at the moon every once in a while, it reminded him of home.

"At least the moon remains the same." He whispered to himself.

A small smile stretched over his face as he gazed at its beauty. He wouldn't admit it aloud, but he secretly was proud of his odd scales. They were all the more dazzling in the moonlight as well, reflecting the moons beams and giving the surface of his scales-an almost invisible rainbow sheen. Though he was treated different because of his scales, he wouldn't change them even if given the opportunity.

He glanced down at the sleeping boy he carefully held in his arms. Though he was starting to feel quite heavy, when he looked at the human's peaceful face, it gave him the energy to go on. He wondered what he was dreaming about, it must have been something good because there was a small smile on his cute little face. It made Silver let out a small giggle.

Then he blushed, he was watching his friend sleep and realised it was a little strange. His feeling towards Sky didn't help with that either. He didn't know what they meant and he didn't want to risk messing up their friendship to find out. He liked how things were right now, running off with his best friend into the unknown. It sounded brave and exciting, not to mention fun! He put on a big, dragon smile and refocused on his flying.

It was at least another hour and a half before Silver spotted somewhere decent to land. It was a small, secluded cave on a mountain with a river running nearby. It seemed like a sensible spot to rest as it was hidden well and near a source of water- which usually meant animals. Another reason he landed there was because it was beautiful and serene, he wanted to take a looked around with Sky when he woke up, it'd be exciting to see what nature in his world was like.

So with renewed energy he swooped downwards swiftly and made a graceful landing directly in front of the cave. He cautiously peered inside the cave with the human still in his arms; if there was anything in there he wanted to make a quick get away. Content that nothing was in there he walked in and slumped against the wall of the cave, it felt rather damp and mossy but he was too tired to care.

He remembered the bag they had brought and retrieved it from the humans grasp; being quiet so he wouldn't wake him up, Silver grabbed the sleeping bag and rolled it out on the floor. It was soft and coloured a deep blue, and made the cave floor much more habitable.

He gently laid the boy onto the top of it and just watched him for a while. His breathing was steady and hypnotic; it made him feel safe for some reason. Silver without thinking, slowly put his head onto Sky's chest and listened to his heartbeat, it was steady and calming, like when your little and you hug your mother, her heartbeat makes you feel safe and happy. He felt just like that.

He blushed as he realised what he was doing, and was about to get up when his friends arm moved around his torso, he mumbled in his sleep as he did so. Silver was blushing furiously now as they were practically face to face, and Sky's arm was around his chest so he couldn't move.

All these feelings started rising up in his mind and made him feel strange, he wanted to move yet a deeper part of him didn't. It confused him alot. So he decided it would be better if he just slept there and hoped it wouldn't be embarrassing in the morning. He gently wrapped his wings over Sky and returned his head back onto the human's chest. It felt.... right, there isn't anywhere else he'd rather be than right here, right now.

"Goodnight...." He whispered with a small smile, and then fell into a blissful slumber.....
