#3 of For Better or Worse

Sam has survived and not only his relationship with Aurora moves on

As promised the third part and this time it didn't take three years. I don't know if I'll be able to keep the pace though. Also here is my first published yiff scene! This part was challenging in many ways... Every critique and comments are appreciated, but don't be too harsh on my writing, I'm still trying to get a hang of translating. Anyone willing to help even if it's just proof reading the text is very welcome.

Disclaimer: You know the drill! I don't claim ownership to digimon, non-original charaters and so on. All others may be used with permission. This part includes consensual sex between an anthro and a human. If you are offended by it, or don't like it, either skip the scene or don't read it at all. You have been warned.

Chapter 3: First Steps

Unbeknownst to ourselves life moves in slow steps. Each and every one of these moves is a choice, a paradigm shift that influences us to the core of our being, even if we don't realize it. Taking another stride on the path that is life means progress and with progress comes the need to adapt.

He should have been dead. Crushed by the strength of a living rockslide and buried by steel. Sam had felt the pain as his bones had cracked. Yet here he was, lying battered and bloodied, while his furry lover knelt at Sam's side and kissed him intimately. Aurora, who had saved him twice, the renamon from a foreign world, had confessed her love to him and so had Sam to her. Their kiss was innocent, but didn't lack passion. As their lips met Sam felt a warm contentment. All doubts were forgotten and the world around human and renamon alike blurred until only their intense feelings remained. Words couldn't quite describe the emotions. They were like fireworks sparkling in blank darkness. It just felt good, to come straight to the point. Almost too good to be real.

'Maybe I died and this is heaven,' thought Sam as Aurora moved to lie atop him. With the touch of her body returned the pain and Sam was immediately proven that he was still alive. He winced breaking the kiss. Aurora looked concerned at Sam and apologized.

"I am so sorry! Did I hurt you? Are you okay?" Worried the renamon gave Sam some room, while looking over his wounds. Sam took time to examine his state as well. His clothes were covered in dirt and painted red with blood. Around his head Sam could even feel a little puddle of the liquid. The amount of blood suggested a huge fracture, a laceration, or something just as bad, but Sam did neither see nor feel such an injury. Sure, he felt sore and stiff all over, while his head started to pound with a headache that would probably irritate him to death. If he didn't miss anything however Sam was far from dying.

"I will be... I think. Let's not be too hasty though. Do you see any wounds that are still bleeding? Or any broken bones?" asked Sam the renamon. Aurora felt still a bit uninformed where human anatomy or first aid was concerned. Finding nothing too life threatening she shook her head. Sam could have sworn he had heard and felt his bones breaking as he was hit by Golemon. Also there was so much blood, too much to appear virtually unharmed. He decided that there was no point in questioning his survival.

"That's probably a good sign, though I still feel like I was beaten up thrice in the last two days." With a quiet laugh Sam sat up and stopped as his head spun more. "I might still be a bit weak. Would you give me a leg up?" Aurora took Sam by the hand to help him up. Holding his hand felt right and as Aurora looked into Sam's eyes she was only more convinced, though it pained her to see him hurt like this. Somehow she felt like it was her fault he got wounded at all. Groaning and with Aurora's help Sam was able to stand up. He saw the package he had purchased from Gary right before the fight with Golemon broke loose. It was sitting on the ground, next to the digivice and Sam picked both objects up, however not without clenching his teeth due to his aching body.

"Are you sure that it's such a good idea for you to be moving? You still look pretty bad, Sam." "Don't worry, I'll be okay. Now let's leave, I'm getting sick of this place." He took several shaky steps then almost fell down again. Luckily Aurora could catch him before Sam hit the floor. "Maybe I was wrong. Looks like walking is out of the question for now..." Before either of them could say more Sam's cell phone rang loudly. For a moment the sudden sound startled human and renamon alike, then Sam relaxed. He rummaged through his pockets for his cell and looked at the screen.

"It's my mother! She probably wants to know where I am," told Sam to Aurora, who looked quizzically at him. Of course the renamon couldn't know anything about telephones. "If I don't talk to her she will be upset. Give me one moment..." Sam answered his cell phone, all explanations and figuring out how he could get home without walking had to wait.

"Hi, Mom!" greeted Sam his mother over the line with a sheepish tone. "So you do remember me," sounded Helen's voice accusingly. "You are gone for hours, never telling me exactly what you're up to and don't even have the decency to say goodbye to your own mother. I told you I will be gone for several days. How can I leave you alone with a clear conscience, when you pull a stunt like that?"

"I know, I know and I'm really sorry. Something came up and I got distracted, it won't happen again," apologized Sam. His mother was really worried about this. He may have been gone almost the entire day, but usually she kept cool about him being away. There must be something else on her mind.

"You had better not! Where are you actually?" His worried mother made Sam regretful and nervous at the same time. Out of instinct he paced back and forth with total disregard of his weakened body. "Where I am?" As Sam tripped again Aurora caught him with lightning fast reflexes before he could hurt himself. Looking concerned the renamon advised, "I got you. You should take it easy for a while." Of course Sam's keen eared mother had heard Aurora over the phone.

"Who was that? What did she mean by taking it easy?" Sam sighed audibly. He had to speak fast for his mother tried to interrogate him with more questions. "I'm at the mall, Mom. The twins picked me up and we were getting something to eat. Josh almost choked on his food, nothing out of the ordinary! You don't have to make a fuss out of everything." Then Sam added with a little sarcasm. "It's not like I'm lying in a secluded courtyard while almost bleeding to death." For a moment only silence came from the phone and Sam debated whether he had gone too far. But then his mother sighed audibly.

"You are right, Sam. I may have been a bit overprotective. I'm sorry! Sometimes I forget that you are not my little boy anymore. It's just that I have to do this unexpected trip and there's so much going on at the hospital..." "Why? What happened?" The past days Helen definitely had seemed more stressed than usual. "Well, the hospital is in financial trouble. That alone has everyone fearing for their job. Lately however it is rumored that there is a new investor." That could mean a lot of changes for the hospital staff.

"That explains sort of why you have been so busy..." "Yeah, but don't worry. Everything will be fine." As his mother tried to reassure him, Sam felt slight pang of guilt. While his mother worried about him and her job, their whole future in fact, he was on a wild goose-chase. What would happen if she did lose her job?

"I have to get going now. Try not to destroy anything while I'm gone. Oh, and I told Tera to come by from time to time, so keep the house clean." Tera was Helen's best friend since preschool and although they chose different paths later on she always had been a good friend of the family. For Sam she was like the mix between a hard-ass mentor and the somewhat crazy aunt he never had. She could be harsh, but Sam still liked her and if Tera was supposed to keep an eye on Sam, she never would do it half-heartedly.

"Mom, I don't need a babysitter. I am old enough to look after myself!" complained Sam. He didn't want anyone poking around, even more if it was Tera. Being an ex-Cop his mom's best friend could have mad detective skills when she wanted to. "That's not open for discussion, Sam. Besides she won't be there all the time. Tera has to work, too, you know. Not everyone can hang out at home like you do."

"Now you're getting personal." Sam knew Helen was just teasing him. Still her words gave him an uneasy feeling. "You know it's not like that..." "I know, baby, and I do hope that you find your way soon. Maybe Tera can help, which is one reason why I asked her to look after you. But we can talk about this when I'm back. I call if I find the time and do whatever Tera says, bye!" He would text her regularly, so Helen didn't have to worry.

"Okay, Mom. Bye!" As Sam hung up and stuffed his cell back in his pocket he saw Aurora looking at him with an unreadable glance. She stood to his side with her arms folded. "Your mother seems worried. Shouldn't you try the truth first before lying to her," said Aurora finally.

"You are probably right," sighed Sam. "But somehow I got the feeling that telling her that I can barely stand wouldn't improve the situation. My mother can't handle this situation. Actually I'm surprised I don't freak out." She hesitated just a second and for a moment Sam thought that he might have offended her some way. Then Aurora changed the subject.

"Who is this Tera person? Is she a friend of yours?" Shifting his weight from one leg to the other, Sam almost winced in pain again. Even standing hurt now. How would he get home? "She is a good friend of the family. Tera and my mother go way back. Her name is actually Teresa, but I heard no one call her that. Also she used to be a cop." When Sam saw Aurora's expression he added shrugging, "You know chasing bad guys and stuff, enforcing the law and helping people. But then she quit, I didn't exactly ask why... Now she works as a private investigator and teaches self-defense. I learned all my fighting techniques from her," answered Sam her question.

Aurora would have liked to know more, but she left it at that. Sam lying to his worried mother bothered her a little. With her good senses the renamon had heard the whole conversation and somehow she envied him. She wished for the attention and the concern Sam's mother showed him. Back at home Aurora sometimes felt like she didn't even exist. Seeing Sam take shaking steps again distracted her from such thoughts.

"You can barely stand! Enough walking around, you need to rest." She sounded harsher than she wanted to. "I need to get walking again, how else am I supposed to get home? Calling help will only raise questions, which I don't want to answer and sleeping here on the ground doesn't sound like such a good idea either," spoke Sam slightly troubled. "Maybe I know a way how to sort out this problem." With a fast and fluid motion Aurora got to Sam's side and scooped the unsuspecting human up. Sam was able to suppress a startled yelp as Aurora carried him.

"That is mortifying," said Sam after a short pause. Aurora simply shrugged. "Stop complaining before I change my mind. Otherwise I might just drop you on the way. We wouldn't want you hurting yourself again." Of course Aurora wasn't serious and Sam realized it instantly, yet her sudden boldness was surprising. So far the renamon seemed curious and reserved, but maybe that had to do with her stranding in the real world. It was like Sam got to know a new side of her. Chuckling he addressed her. "As you wish, I will shut up now."

It was late when the two of them arrived at Sam's house. The whole neighborhood was cast in the darkness of a starlit night and no one saw them standing on Sam's porch. With Aurora's strength they had headed back fast and easy. Carrying Sam had been a small strain for her, and although she wasn't able to go at top speed, they arrived still much faster than Sam had anticipated. For a distance that took Sam hours of walking, Aurora had needed only a fraction of that time. With several strong jumps she had gotten on the roof of the nearest building, from there she ran on and bounded from roof to roof. A little later they arrived in front of Sam's house. Her abilities still amazed Sam.

Taking the keys from his pockets Sam fumbled around before he was able to open the lock. Slowly he limped inside, while leaning on Aurora since his body still hurt, and switched the lights on. The house was empty, Helen was gone already just as she had mentioned on the phone.

"Finally, there we are." In the safety of his home Sam felt the stress of the whole day crushing down on him. He felt exhausted and longed for his bed. Turning to Aurora he said, "Help me upstairs, please. I'm too beat-up for anything but sleep." The renamon complied, so they shuffled upstairs together. When they reached Sam's room Aurora helped him to get to the bed, where Sam immediately made himself comfortable. He set the package from Gary's shop down and put the digivice on his nightstand. Too tired to undress or even move too much Sam got under the blanket. He spoke sighing as he got more and more sleepy.

"Make yourself at home. I would show you around again... But nobody is here except us, so no worries." Aurora sat on the side of Sam's bed and watched him with slight concern. "How are you feeling?" she asked. The human had his eyes closed and seemed to be half asleep already. "I'm better. Just never felt so tired before... Come lay down with me." Sam made room for Aurora while lifting the blanket invitingly. For a moment Aurora sat there hesitating, the human seemed to behave a bit oddly, which could be due to his injuries or the exhaustion of course, yet Aurora had a strange feeling. At the same time she wished to be closer to Sam, surely there was nothing wrong. Without further ado Aurora got into bed with Sam, who was dozing off already. Given that Aurora didn't feel quite as sleepy many thoughts crossed her mind.

'A whole day has passed and we still don't know what's going on. How are the digimon coming into this world and why? What is the purpose of the digivice? Maybe tomorrow will bring answers, even though all we've found so far is pain.' Lost in her thoughts Aurora looked at Sam, who appeared to be more relaxed and in general much better than before.

'He almost died in the last fight,' thought Aurora as she crept closer to the human. 'And at the same time he saved me... Are we supposed to save each other over and over again? I hope next time it won't be that dangerous.' Aurora felt herself slowly drifting off to sleep as she hugged Sam close.

'Sam loves me and I love him, I want more than that, but what does he think? Tomorrow I will ask him whether he is ready for the next step in this relationship. Would he be a good mate? I wonder what my mother would say about him...' And with that the renamon dropped into the soothing arms sleep.

The door made a silent sound as it closed and interrupted the peculiar quietness for a short moment. If it weren't for the repetitive ticking noise of the clock that alerted everyone present to the fact that time was always short, the tranquility of the room would have been consuming. Blank white walls greeted only practical furniture and everything was neatly arranged. This arrangement could have withstood the rigorous examination by a committee of obsessed mathematicians armed with angle meters.

Some would say Mr. Bain's office was hollow and cold, others would call it progressive or modern referring to the feel and not the technology. It was neither of that. Mr. Bain's office was nothing more than a practical tool, which shouldn't divert the attention from work in any way. Nevertheless not many people would share Mr. Bain's opinion, probably due to the fact that they missed the big picture. One wouldn't call a pen impersonal solely because it wasn't colorful.

Mr. Bain sat upright behind his desk pedantically. His eyes were closed and in the hollow darkness of his office he looked less like a man of business and more like a powerful warrior, who was in the middle of his daily meditation. The suit was Mr. Bain's impenetrable armor, while his mind was Mr. Bain's sharpest weapon, but the most dangerous was Mr. Bain's unrelenting will. He sensed the person in front of his door before she knocked politely.

Of course it was Miss Erica Marlot, Mr. Bain's secretary, and as always she was perfectly on time. Miss Marlot was one of few who could understand Adrian Bain. She had a talent for organization, which was past any comparison, was very accurate and put work before everything else. Just like Mr. Bain she had worked for several agencies and acquired contacts that made her extra resourceful. To Sum everything up Miss Marlot was irreplaceable.

"Come in," said Mr. Bain as he opened the door for Miss Marlot remotely. Out of reflex he adjusted his tie. Miss Marlot stepped inside with several documents in her hands. Her whole appearance screamed secretary or librarian. A grey formal outfit, her hair pinned up and glasses on her nose. The ever so slightly disfavoring look on her face, which seemed to be burned-in it forever, complimented her look.

"I have some papers to sign for you, Mr. Bain," was the only thing she said as Miss Marlot crossed the room. Mr. Bain took the papers she handed to him, overflew them and put his signature on the bottom. "How is Mr. Conner settling in?" asked Mr. Bain while Miss Marlot handed him more papers to sign. "So far, good as it seems. He established his workspace and gave me list for equipment and possible employees." Adrian Bain nodded over signing different contracts.

"How is the state of this affairs?" "The equipment will arrive tomorrow. In terms of employees Mr. Conner's list is relatively short. He just specified his old team from the department of defense." She handed Mr. Bain the last stack of papers to sign. "As was expected from Mr. Conner, good thing we have talked to them already. Have all of them agreed to work for us?" Miss Marlot nodded before she spoke.

"Yes, all three of them have signed their employment contract. They will start tomorrow by setting up the equipment and proceed under the lead of Mr. Conner." As he handed her the singed papers Miss Marlot still stood there dutifully, though she had nothing more to sign. "What about the Major's demands?" "All of his demands have been met. The personnel is ready to receive orders and except for the more dangerous and risky gear everything has arrived. As we speak the major is familiarizing himself with everything, he seemed quite pleased I might add." A moment of silence ensued, before Mr. Bain spoke again.

"That will be all for today, Miss Marlot," said Mr. Bain adjusting his tie again. It was the only habit he had failed so far to unlearn. "First thing tomorrow schedule a meeting with Mr. Conner and the major. It is time to elaborate our plans with them."

Without another word Miss Marlot left Adrian Bain's office. The door closed silently again. Once more tranquility emanated from the hollow darkness. Then the phone rang. It was a disturbing sound compared to the silence before and for a moment it rattled Mr. Bain, who stared at the phone in annoyance. There was just one person except the secretary that had this number and it wasn't Erika Marlot's name that appeared on the screen of the phone. Mr. Bain hated the man on the other side of the line, but there was nothing he could do about it. He depended on his support. After a short hesitation Mr. Bain picked up the phone and listened to him. Every word of that person made Mr. Bain realize more and more that he despised him. "Yes, everything is in place. We can start the operation tomorrow."

Aurora was at home. She knew immediately that she was dreaming, yet she didn't wake up and could do nothing but watch. Never before did she have a dream as real as this one. Her surroundings were a bit blurry, but she recognized at once the garden of her family, back in the digiworld. Everything else was perfectly clear. Aurora could even feel a slight breeze and the warming sun on her fur.

She saw herself as a young kit playing on the ground and a little farther apart her mother was meditating. As always Aurora's mother Lekira looked fierce and restrained, but at the same time she could be gentle, Lekira just didn't show it most of the time. Maybe it was because of her being a priestess and all.

"Mother... What's it like to have a mate?" asked the young Aurora while her older-self watched. Lekira didn't stop her meditation, at least she gave an answer to the question. "That depends on who you are with. It can be a strain for your nerves, but you can have fun as well. Having a mate is all about commitment and caring for each other, which should be enough. If you do love each other it will be much better though." The young Aurora didn't look quite satisfied, only more confused. Also the whole scene reminded Aurora of something, she just couldn't figure out what.

"I thought mates always loved each other," said the kit as she looked at her mother. "Not always. For example I didn't even know your father before becoming mates, our parents had arranged everything. However with time both of you grow and you may learn to love each other, as I did with your father. My advice for you would be to have fun and experiment until you are ready to commit and then settle for someone that is caring and reliable at least." The hard truths from her mother still astounded Aurora today. It was like she never knew real love, Aurora knew that Lekira must have led a hard life, but hearing her say something like that made her mother resigned and embittered in Aurora's eyes. Aurora loved Sam of that she was sure. She didn't want to miss out on that feeling, though after hearing her Aurora figured what her mother would say about Sam. Lekira wouldn't approve and that made Aurora only more determined to pick Sam as her mate, she hoped that he felt the same about her.

"Okay, mother," spoke the kit quiet and somehow sad. After a moment however Lekira opened her eyes. "There is still another part to finding a mate. It is extremely rare, but some find their soul mate." Lekira finally stopped her meditation and walked over to the kit. In that moment Aurora realized that this wasn't just a random dream, but a very detailed memory. The chat of her younger-self and her mother should have been enough of an indicator. Now she remembered everything clearly. Many years ago she had talked with her mother about soul mates. Aurora still knew the exact words Lekira had used. 'When destinies intertwine, even after death and rebirth, there are parts of us that know we are meant for each other.' Young Aurora looked up at Lekira as she continued.

"When destinies intertwine, even after death and rebirth, there are parts of us that know we are meant for each other. It may be fate or something else, but soul mates belong together. They have more than love in common and their connection is deeper than just physical. Soul mates know each other to the core, they see through the other's eyes and share strengths and weaknesses." The older Aurora saw herself smiling. She remembered that she had liked this story, though to her mother it never had been more than just a story.

"However as remarkable as soul mates might seem as rare are they in truth. Maybe it is simply all but impossible to find your soul mate, I never heard of anyone finding theirs... It's more likely though that soul mates are nothing more but a myth, inspired by those that decided to wait for their perfect special someone." The kit was still smiling, though one could see clearly that she didn't like the last part as much as the rest of Lekira's tale. In her mind she discarded her mother's doubts, just as the older and more experienced Aurora did. She wouldn't let herself be tied down by anyone's opinion, instead she would pursuit her own happiness in every possible way and Aurora would do so together with Sam.

With a contended sigh Aurora awoke in Sam's arms. The sun shone into the room and basked human and digimon alike in bright light. She could remember everything from her dream perfectly, though this experience seemed still a bit strange to her. Never before had she such a real dream, which unfolded exactly like an event from her memory. But Aurora didn't want to waste any more thoughts on strange dreams. She had better things to think of.

Looking at Sam she realized that he looked much better now than yesterday. He wasn't that pale anymore, there were no visible cuts and bruises, even the blood was gone. It was like he hadn't been hurt in the first place. Before she could wonder about his state any more Sam stirred.

"Good morning! How did you sleep?" asked Sam with a yawn. He stretched and showed no sign of discomfort. "Very good, though I had a strange dream... or memory, I don't know. What about your injuries, any pain?" inquired Aurora. She was lying very close to Sam and their faces were only mere inches apart. "No pain at all," said Sam sounding surprised himself. "Strange, the muscles don't feel stiff and there is no sign of injuries, not even blood." Sam was frowning but showed otherwise no reaction. "You're absorbing that pretty fast." He just shrugged.

"I guess it can't beat the rest that has happened. Do you know what the best about all of this is?" "No, what is the best?" Looking into Aurora's eyes Sam smiled. "I met you! That is the best about all of this," was all he said. Aurora could feel herself blushing, but she tried not to show her embarrassment. Maybe this was the right time to ask him.

"So... you do love me," said Aurora in an careful and inquiring tone. "I do! Do you love me?" "Yes." "That's a load of my mind. Here I was thinking I simply imagined everything," spoke he jokingly. " Sam...," Aurora hesitated a moment for she didn't know how to start. She reassured herself in her thoughts, 'Focus, you can do it. Just cut straight to the point.' "I want more than that, a real relationship... I want you to be my mate." Managed the renamon to say finally.

"I'm not really sure what that means." Sam hesitated showing an inquisitive look. "But I wouldn't want anything less than a relationship with you, Aurora." "To sum it up being mates is a promise of commitment," explained Aurora. She didn't want him to decide without knowing what he did, though at the same time Aurora just wished he would say yes. "It means that we are together, that we care for each other in many ways and that we are part of each other's family." "So it's like getting married?" Now it was Aurora's turn to look confused.

"I don't know what that means." Sam shrugged before answering. "Well, it's just like you described, commitment and all... But it is a legal and religious union as well. Usually there is a huge ceremony and all your friends and family are present." "Sounds very much like it," agreed Aurora. "At my village there would be a short ceremony as well, though I don't think my family would approve of you, no offense."

"None taken, I can imagine that everybody I know will have similar doubts." Sam thought about it for a moment, but for him there wasn't much to think about actually. He had already made up his mind. Aurora may have been moving faster than he anticipated, concerning their relationship. Yet without her Sam wouldn't even be there. Also his feelings were so strong he didn't mind being with her for the rest of his life, how long it may be. "My answer is yes."

"Really?" asked Aurora surprised. "Yes, I want to be your mate. That is, if you take me..." Sam spoke with determination and honesty. Before he could even finish she hugged him pressing her body to his and kissed him. At first Sam was totally taken aback, but then he returned the kiss with equal passion. The fireworks of his feelings that he had felt with their last kiss didn't cease, if all it grew stronger and changed color in the process. After what felt like an eternity they broke apart.

"I guess that means yes," joked Sam as he looked at her lovingly. The renamon giggled. "It does! And maybe we should celebrate being mates now. There is still one tradition we can do, you know," said Aurora seductively while her tail swished slightly in anticipation. Sam needed a moment to get her meaning then turned almost imperceptibly red in embarrassment. However he didn't need another invitation and started to undress.

At first Aurora just watched him, as Sam threw his shirt to the side and Aurora saw his athletic chest framed with muscle though, she couldn't hold back anymore. Lost in passion she caressed his well-toned body, while he fought to remove his pants. Aurora planted kisses and adventurous licks across his chest, as did he on her neck. Giving a short groan of approval Aurora could feel herself grow aroused and rubbing her body against Sam's almost naked frame she could feel that he was excited as well.

With a final tug Sam was able to remove the last of his clothes. His fully erect member sprang free and brushed against Aurora. Using his now free hands to roam Aurora's body, he marveled at the sensation of her fur rubbing against his skin. Hidden behind the tuft of fur around Aurora's neck he found her pert breasts and caressed them gently, which enticed a moan from Aurora.

The renamon grabbed Sam's cock with one of her paws and stroked him tenderly, grinning in satisfaction as Sam moaned. Both of them continued for a while, exploring and caressing each other's body almost painfully slow. Then Aurora wanted do something else. With a strong push she pressed him away from her, smirking she moved lower until her face was at the same level as his crotch.

She looked at his cock, inhaling his musky male scent before giving Sam's member a gentle lick, which made him shiver in delight. Aurora started to caress his manhood with her tongue. She licked from the base to the head and around his manhood while Sam's more frequent moans only spurred her on. When his breathing became harder Aurora started to suck on his manhood. Her head bobbed up and down the entire length while she swirled her tongue around his member and with her muzzle Aurora had no problem to get his whole cock inside her mouth. Sam put his hands on her head as he groaned in approval. Precum dribbled from Sam's shaft and Aurora lapped it up hungrily. With her sucking Sam got closer and closer to his release. He could feel his orgasm building and Aurora's attention on his member felt heavenly. Then suddenly Sam screamed as he came hard. Aurora was ready for it and felt the seed erupt into her waiting mouth. She tasted his cum, leaving a salty sensation on her tongue and drank all of it down with several audible gulps.

When he stopped shooting cum into her mouth Aurora licked his cock clean, loving the taste of his juices. She was content with pleasuring him, yet she wasn't satisfied herself. There was the slowly growing and aching feeling of need. Rising to eye level again Aurora kissed Sam passionately. She parted her lips to give him access to her mouth and he happily obliged. Their tongues entwined, so that Sam could taste the remainder of his seed, he didn't mind though. When they parted again Sam pushed Aurora to the side of the bed before she could do anything.

"It's my turn," was all he said and Aurora saw the lust in his eyes, which turned her on even more. Moving down to her crotch Sam found a damp spot in her fur around the swollen lips of her slit. Just like Aurora before he started with playful lick at her moist crotch and was rewarded with a loud moan from the renamon. Her reaction was reason enough for him to go on. He licked up and down her slit before focusing on the clit for a moment by swirling around the sensitive nub. This brought another moan from Aurora, who started to pant and clench the bed's sheets with her paws tightly. Bolder Sam started to lick the inside of Aurora's pussy. Putting his face as close to her crotch as possible, he pushed his tongue inside her. He tried to move his tongue around as her warm and wet walls pressed against him. Aurora groaned more often now, which he took as a cue to move faster. Shortly after that she screamed out as Aurora orgasmed. Her vagina's wall constricted around Sam's tongue and a rush of fluid squirted from her. Sam tried to lap her cum up, but most of it ended up coating his face.

Both of them panted hard now, they were still aroused. Sam rose and as Aurora put her arms around him he hugged her back. He let himself be drawn closer to her so they could kiss again. It was shorter than the one before, but not with less passion. However Sam's face was still coated in her juices and as the kiss turned into long and loving licks from Aurora, who wanted to taste her own arousal, Sam couldn't help it but snicker. Meanwhile Aurora felt Sam's erect manhood press against her, it looked like he had recovered already.

"I think it's time for the main event," said Aurora seductively. Sam nodded and used his hand to position himself at her entrance. He looked at her questioningly the heat of the moment shortly forgotten. "Are you sure?" asked Sam and Aurora just nodded. Slowly Sam pressed into her pussy. Taking his time to revel in feelings of her tight walls around his shaft Sam watched Aurora closely for discomfort. Her body stiffened and she clenched her teeth a bit, yet she signified for him to go on regardless. Sam pressed on until his entire cock was inside her, then he gave the renamon time to adjust. Being thankful for Sam's concern Aurora started to get accustomed to his size. With him inside her pussy she felt full and stretched in a wonderful way, she could sense the heat radiating from his manhood and noticed how it throbbed when she pressed down on him.

"Go on," managed Aurora to say finally. Feeling hot and horny she just needed him to go on. He started to pull out until he was half-way out, then Sam pushed back, eliciting a moan from the renamon. Building a slow pace Sam could feel his climax grow equally. He loved all of the feelings, the tight grip of her vagina, the heat of passion and the pleased expression on Aurora's face, yet at the same time he needed to go faster.

"Faster!" shouted Aurora between gasps as if she knew exactly what he wanted and Sam just complied. With the more rapid motion and the lubrication from her pussy they started to make lewd sounds every time their crotches met. Aurora moaned loudly and Sam joined her. The renamon pushed back with every thrust now trying to increase the sensations. When Sam couldn't take it anymore, as he came closer and closer to his climax, he started to fuck her as hard as he could, ramming into her like a jackhammer. He held onto the bed sideways of Aurora and saw her squirm under him. After finding a steady rhythm of thrusting, with Aurora bucking against him on each thrust, Sam leaned forward to be closer to her. Groping her right breast and sucking on the other. He swirled the nipple with his tongue, the whole time fucking her tight pussy. All of his efforts made Aurora only moan more and cry out. Sam could feel himself nearing his release. He let go of her breasts and Aurora wound her arms around him hugging Sam close.

"I'm almost there," grunted Sam between thrusts in her ear. Aurora gasped. "Do it! I am yours. Claim me as your mate!" One final thrust later Sam came groaning, the renamon could feel his seed flood her vagina and that set her off as well. Screaming she climaxed together with Sam. When the waves of pleasure didn't seem to subside Aurora gently bit into Sam's shoulder, riding out her orgasm.

After an eternity she let finally go of Sam and both of them collapsed totally spent on the bed. "That was intense!" Aurora spoke out of breath while Sam pulled out. She could feel a mix of their juices dribble out of her slit, but she didn't care at the moment. "Yeah, I liked it too. Thank you," was Sam answer as he hugged Aurora again. "Let's just rest for a while though. I need to catch my breath." As they lay on the bed all problems and all mysteries were forgotten. They found no sleep as they had only each other on their minds. However if you neglected your challenges, it didn't mean that they would vanish.

"Okay, that's it. Switch it on!" called Daniel Conner from the other side of the room. There was the clicking sound and then the machine in front of Daniel sprang to life. Fans began rotating, lights started glowing and the machine turned warm immediately, as the distinct sounds indicated a computer in the process of booting. It was one of the last pieces of the equipment that had needed to be plugged in. However the hardest part needed yet to be done, setting everything up, which included the calibration of the software.

"If I had known that starting this monster would take three hours, I wouldn't have thrown the manual away," said Ricardo Rivera. As usually he was a little careless, but his skills made up for it, besides he was one of Daniel's closest friends just like the rest of his team.

"You're in luck that I still know how to operate this kind of technology. Though I'm surprised how easy they were able to obtain all of this equipment," spoke Daniel his astonishment aloud. Within one day Mr. Bain had not only employed his whole team from the DOD but also acquired an incredible amount of resources. A whole story of the building was filled with servers, they had computers in every size and for every job, as well as state of the art scanners, sensors and input devices. Furthermore Mr. Bain had access to several satellites, including those from the government, specialized supercomputers and clusters Daniel never even had heard of before. All of this combined would have been a nerds wet dream. The only issue was that so far neither Daniel nor his team knew what they were supposed to do with it.

"Has anyone of you ever heard of this Mr. Bain? I can't even find a name for this company," asked Nina Young while browsing through boxes filled with the remaining equipment. Being a woman in a profession that was dominated by men, as was the case in Daniel's team, she was a welcome diversion.

"I've never heard of him before, but he seems to have serious connections," was Daniels answer while Ricardo only shrugged as he stared at an gigantic screen. "Who cares who this guy is? He may behave like a CIA agent, look like a CEO and have the humor of a stone. As long as he is paying that good I still would pretend to do his work if he was Satan himself." Yeah, that's Ric down to the ground. Nina rolled her eyes to this answer. Before Daniel could reprimand him, the last member of his team entered the room. Ben Williams was carrying another box full of stuff. He put it on the ground then addressed Daniel.

"The secretary Miss Marlot asked me to remind you of the meeting in half an hour. Also it looks like this is the last box." He opened the box looking inside. "Oh, joy," said Ric sarcastically to Ben. "What's inside?" Ben threw a pair of gloves in Ric's direction, he caught them with ease and looked at the gloves.

"AR equipment," was Ben's short answer. He always had been a man of few words. "Wow, they have the coolest toys here. I wonder if they let me keep one of these." As Ric and Ben examined the contents of the box Nina looked at Daniel inquiringly.

"What's this meeting about?" Daniel shrugged then answered her. "I guess Mr. Bain will finally explain what we are supposed to do. As far as I know it has something to do with a new kind of cybercrime. Miss Marlot said a Major Kane would attend as well," added Daniel. To his side Ben suddenly dropped a pair of AR glasses, luckily they didn't break.

"Did you say Major Kane?" he asked a bit surprised. "Yes, I did. Do you know him?" Daniel tried to remain calm, even though Ben's reaction scared him a little bit. Ben nodded. "I heard of him, when I was working for the army. He used to be a marine with a... special kind of reputation. He came around, I can tell you that, and everywhere he went Kane screwed up."

"How so?" asked Daniel, the others hang on every word as well. "For instance his whole squad got wiped out except him. They found him days later covered in blood with enemy corpses everywhere. When he was asked why no one else of his team had survived his official statement was supposedly, that they were dead weight and he preferred to work alone. They have nicknamed him the hunter ever since," finished Ben his story. Ricardo frowned before speaking.

"Total bad ass!" was his only comment. Nina just scowled at him. "This is no situation to be joking about something like that," she said. "Most likely the stories about him are just exaggerated or this is different Kane." Daniel didn't know what he should think about this man. "I guess I will find out sooner or later."

Sam and Aurora were still lying on the bed, basking in the afterglow. They enjoyed each other's company and not many words were exchanged. All of this had left Sam hungry and thirsty, as well as dirty from their lovemaking. He guessed the renamon was in a similar situation. In addition to that Sam's heart pounded a steady beat to the distant feeling of an initiating weak headache, which felt like a faint tugging to Sam that drew him closer to Aurora. Eventually Sam rose.

"Enough rest, time to get up! I could use a shower and something to eat how about you?" He looked at Aurora, who got up with him. Her fur was a mess in some places, he grinned inwardly as Sam reminded himself that most of it was his fault. "Eating sounds lovely, but I need to wash up first," said the renamon.

"No, problem," agreed Sam then headed for the bathroom. "Follow me." Aurora looked around with interest clearly bathrooms were not common in the digiworld. Setting towels aside Sam went into the shower and beckoned Aurora to join him. "That's how you turn the water on," explained Sam as he turned the handle and water started pouring down on them. "And with that you can warm it up." Watching the shower in awe Aurora stepped into the streaming water and Sam followed her after adjusting it to a suitable temperature.

"It's like rain only indoors." Sam relaxed visibly in the downpour of calming water. "Yeah, and that's not all. This is shower gel and this is shampoo, they smell nice and help you to remove the dirt," commented Sam as he pointed to the bottles. "Here let me help you." Taking one of the bottles Sam started to lather Aurora, while the renamon noticed the sweet scent that spread from it. With affectionate and slow movements he applied shampoo to her fur. He caressed her back, shoulders and arms, missing nothing. When he moved to her front, gently lathering her breast, he drew a pleased sound from Aurora. Under Sam's loving touches she could feel herself grow hot with arousal again. So she stopped him before they made a mess again.

"If you keep that up we have to wash all over again. Not that I'm minding the attention," assured Aurora him. "Maybe another time then," shrugged Sam while Aurora nodded. His moves were less sensual now, at the same time they didn't lose the affection. Taking the bottle from him Aurora returned the favor by lathering Sam. When they were covered in soapy foam they stepped into the gushing water. Having no fur Sam was clean already whereas Aurora needed more time. "Do you mind if I let you alone, while I look for something to eat?" "No worries! I guess I figured it out," answered Aurora.

"Great," said Sam as he stepped out of the shower. "There is a towel to dry off when you're done." He left the bathroom as Aurora still stood under the water stream. She liked the shower it was much better than a bathtub and easier than washing in the river. In her village some stood under a waterfall to get clean though it had probably more to do with spiritual cleanliness. Also there was the nice fruity scent from the stuff Sam had applied to her fur.

She stood there for minutes reveling in the soothing waters before she turned the water off, shook herself to get rid of most of the wetness and stepped out of the shower. Just as Sam had said there lay a towel. Aurora grabbed it to dry off some more. When she was dry enough Aurora returned to Sam's room. Finally clean the renamon felt good and the scent wasn't bad either. Being alone she looked around with curiosity. There were so many things she couldn't quite describe, so much wonders, but that was probably the up side about visiting a foreign world. Aurora moved around looking at the strange things until she saw the package Sam had carried yesterday. She remained with the small box, examining it. It was half way open and inside Aurora was able to see a rolled sheet of paper on which a digivice was clearly visible.

"Good, you are done showering." The voice sounded abruptly from behind her making Aurora almost jump. Sam had returned wearing a pair of pants and a shirt. When he saw her standing by the box Sam smiled. "So you found the package, take it along. Even though it's a little late for that, breakfast is ready now." As Sam had wanted Aurora took the packaged and followed him into the kitchen, where he had prepared a small meal. There were pancakes, eggs, bacon and other stuff. Sam motioned for her to sit down.

"I didn't know you could cook," stated Aurora as she sat down. "Well, it's one of my many talents, like repairing absolutely everything in this house or getting a beating. That's why everyone loves me so much," joked Sam as he started to eat.

"Oh, I love you even if you don't get a beating," flirted Aurora before taking a bite. "It tastes very good." "Thank you." They chatted for a while as they ate. However they didn't talk about anything serious. Sam told her what spices he used to make the food and Aurora spoke about the food at her home. When they were done eating and their conversation had stopped Sam looked at the package from Gary's shop. He never had the time to examine it fully, so he opened it, spilling the contents on the table. There was the poster, the deck of cards and lastly a flash drive. Somehow Sam was disappointed that there wasn't more and looked at the last piece, the flash drive.

'I wonder what's saved on it,' thought Sam. 'Maybe there is nothing on it and we reach a dead end again.' "Where did you get all that?" Aurora's question interrupted his thoughts. "I bought the package yesterday. The previous owner said it was some kind of card game, which is to be used with the digivice, but there must be more to it. When we fought Golemon I was desperate and one of the cards... reacted with the digivice as I pulled it through. I don't know what happened after that but I guess it worked." Aurora remembered clearly, she had awoken from unconsciousness and felt a rush of power.

"It did. Somehow it gave me enough strength to defeat Golemon," confirmed Aurora Sam's suspicion. "However that's not all. I found this almost as intriguing," said Sam as he unrolled the poster for her. On the top was a glowing digivice framed with strands of code and below were several digimon standing in formation. "These are digimon," exclaimed Aurora excited.

"I figured as much. Do you recognize anyone?" Aurora shook her head. "No one particular, since the scent is missing... Anyhow I know most of these kinds of digimon. There is Gabumon and Agumon, here is Leomon and over here is Gatomon. Apart from that I don't see anything special." Sam looked at the poster as Aurora pointed the different digimon out. It seemed like the poster was nothing more than decoration. Well, it was a long shot expecting Aurora to find something of interest on it.

"That leaves the cards and this flash drive and I for one am dying to find out what's on this thing," said Sam as he picked the flash drive up before taking the rest as well. "Let's hope it explains everything that has happened so far." Together they returned to Sam's room, where he started his computer immediately. As it booted Sam took the poster. "Might as well hang it up," was all he said while Aurora looked around again. When the poster was safely on the wall Sam saw Aurora looking at something.

"Oh, you found my father's AR glasses." He walked to Aurora's side. "What are they for?" asked Aurora wondering silently what Sam's father was like and when she would meet him. Sam picked the glasses up and showed them to Aurora. "It's some kind of special screen. You can see pictures and other stuff with them. My father build them himself, they are some of the things that are left of him." His words sank in deep. Aurora felt sorry for Sam.

"I didn't know. I' so sorry, Sam," apologized Aurora while putting a reassuring paw on his shoulder. "Don't be," was his answer. His tone didn't show anger or sadness. "It's not like his death is your fault. He has been gone for ten years. I had enough time to get used to it." Finally the computer was done booting, so without another word Sam sat down and plugged the flash drive in with the third try. At first nothing happened, Sam looked at the flash drive seeing a glowing light at the end. Then suddenly the screen turned blank, while the computer shut down.

"What the fuck," exclaimed Sam fearing that his computer just installed a virus or something. However before he could curse some more, an alarming beep sounded from his nightstand. There lay the digivice, Sam had almost forgotten the thing. He picked it up, while Aurora looked just as confused as he was. On the digivice's screen flashed one word. 'CONNECTING.'

"Connecting to what?" wondered Sam aloud. Right that moment his computer sprang to live again, but the screen was different. The user interface had changed totally, now it looked much more complicated. As Sam examined the screen, the computer seemed to operate on its own. Files and folders opened, programs were installed and all of it was flashing so fast that you couldn't read a thing. Suddenly all the madness stopped while the digivice showed the words 'SET UP COMPLETE'.

"So that's what you wanted." Sam spoke to the digivice in his hand, which made Aurora stare at him. "I know I'm talking to an inanimate object. So let's look for a manual or something." Sam searched on the desktop of his computer for anything that would help him understand. He realized that instead of being a normal flat surface the desktop had turned to a three-dimensional room. After minutes of searching he found a file that was labeled as manual. He opened it, which made a very long text appear on the screen. Sam browsed the first paragraph.

"The device enables multi-dimensional communication between registered users... Can link to any device with wireless or wired communication... Uses special cards as storage medium for objects, constructs and a good deal more..." Clearly the manual described the functions of the digivice and Sam didn't know if he understood everything. All of it sounded way more advanced than Sam had expected from a thing that looked like a plastic toy. It understood augmented reality and other technologies Sam never had heard of, if he got it right that thing could even connect to a satellite for fucks sake. He definitely needed to study the manual, and all the changes the digivice had made to his computer, in more detail.

Clicking around randomly Sam opened another file. A picture filling the whole screen appeared. It showed tiny geometric shapes connected by countless lines. Sam studied the picture for a long moment, until he understood what it represented. "This is the blueprint of the digivice!" All in all it looked as big and obscure as a world map, which showed all possible means of transportation. It was gigantically huge with lines all over the place. Deciphering it could take forever. Still curious Sam looked at the desktop again for more interesting files until he found something. A mouse-click later a window opened. The title said 'Registered Users'. It was empty except for two entries. The first read 'Aurora - Race: Renamon', whereas the second was 'Samuel Thornton - Race: Human'. Next to the entries were pictures of him and Aurora. The renamon watched the screen at least as surprised as Sam. He didn't know how the thing knew their names, or had acquired their pictures, which looked pretty recent. It was a mystery to him how such technology could possibly exist. Sam knew only one thing. "This is interesting."

Nothing happened while the wait began to get straining. The meeting room was less bland than Mr. Bain's office. Where there was darkness in the business man's room the meeting room was well-lit. A long oak-wood table consumed most of the space and sparse decoration combined with practical objects, like speakers and a beamer, gave the room an aura of stylized utility. There were only two people in the meeting room at the moment, anticipating the arrival of the last participant.

Mr. Bain liked to keep everyone waiting, Daniel had figured as much. Probably it gave him some twisted satisfaction to exert this power over his subordinates. Adrian Bain was able to let them grow old here and they had to wait. While Daniel sat at the head side of the table the soldier had chosen the other end. Leaned back with his feet on the table and clad in a marine uniform he seemed to have no regard for his surroundings.

'This must be major Kane,' thought Daniel as he watched the man from the corner of his eyes. The major was young and compared to the image of the marines and the stories Ben had told before the man wasn't that intimidating. Yet there was something unsettling about him, a quiet presence that watched from the back, while everyone else let their guard down. Daniel realized only now that since he entered the meeting room the major hadn't moved a single inch. This man was a predator, but the only question was what did he hunt? Suddenly the door opened and Mr. Bain strode into the room accompanied by the secretary Miss Marlot.

"Gentlemen, my apologies for being late," was his excuse. As he moved through the conference room Miss Marlot handed him documents, which Mr. Bain signed quickly. "There are responsibilities that cannot be delayed." After signing everything Miss Marlot took the papers and left without a word. Mr. Bain sat down adjusting his tie before he continued. "I presume introductions are necessary." He gestured at the other two. "Mr. Daniel Conner, our head of research and development, meet Major Nicholas Kane, who will be in charge of field work."

"Field work?" asked Daniel. He noticed that major Kane's gaze had shifted to him. So this so called hunter was able to move. If he would choose another target for his stare Daniel could calm down again. "Yes, field work. Some tasks cannot be done remotely, that is where the major comes in. But let's start at the beginning. You need to know what's at stake here." With a flip of a switch the beamer started and gave a slight hum. Daniel watched Mr. Bain with interest. Even the major changed his position to follow the presentation more comfortable.

"In the past years we documented an increasing number of failures in the internet, causing massive disturbances in the flow of data. As of late these outbreaks have become more dangerous and started to effect critical systems as well. We are led to believe that something has infected the net and started to seep into every technology, this is a new kind of cyber-attack for which we lack any response."

"Was someone able to trace the attacks back to their origin?" cut Daniel in on Mr. Bain. "None of our experts could trace the attacks," answered the business man sternly. "However each attack seems to be connected to unexplainable incidences, you will get the reports later. These incidences can be relatively reliable identified by several criteria, for example by a fluctuation in radio frequencies." The beamer projected a world map on the wall. Daniel watched excitedly as dots and lines appeared representing the internet's architecture.

"After analyzing countless of log files from private and non-private servers we were able to pinpoint locations of these incidences and could assign them an exact point in time. These are all identified attacks so far." He pressed a button and on the whole world map appeared glowing points. Most of them seemed to be situated around bigger cities. "Now all incidences that happened one year ago or before that," commented Mr. Bain. About half of the glowing points vanished. "Five years ago..." Just a handful of them were left. "And last but not least ten years ago!" Only a single point remained. Daniel recognized the location immediately for he had worked there for some time.

"The very first appearance seems to be linked to the fall of Proteus Science. I guess you heard of this tragedy before. One of the pioneers in technology experienced it's downfall due to a terrorist attack. Half the of employees died, all their data was wiped out and as of today still no one knows what happened." As it seems Mr. Bain liked to dramatize the situation. The part of Proteus being destroyed by terrorists was just one theory of many, for over a year everyone had speculated what had happened in fear. If Daniel hadn't been late at the day of the fall, he possibly wouldn't sit here with the major and Mr. Bain. "Strictly speaking Proteus involvement is the main reason for your employment, Mr. Conner."

'It's an honest statement you have to give him that. Should I say nothing, be offended or feel flattered by the fact he wants my help for inside information' thought Daniel silently and chose to appear flattered. "Surely there would have been people that are more suited, if information about Proteus is needed." Mr. Bain just shook his head before adjusting his tie again.

"You worked there on a project developing high security software and have an outstanding resume. There are some, who can offer neither of that. No, Mr. Conner you are most suitable for this job, your knowledge will be essential. It will be your task and the one of your team of course, to analyze the incidences and develop strategies for tracing and counteracting the attacks." "What happens if we find the attacker?" asked major Kane speaking for the first time. His voice sounded deep and raspy, while the major's face showed a frightening mix of interest and determination.

"Whoever it may be, he needs to be stopped by any means necessary," answered Mr. Bain without a hint of hesitation. Major Kane smiled slightly. "So all of my demands will be met?"

"Certainly, major. You are given free rein to solve this matter and will receive any kind of support you need, be it from me, Mr. Conner here or anyone else. It will be your task to observe and evaluate potential threats and if need be to bring them down as well." Daniel was a bit shocked by Mr. Bain's words. Their conversation gave him the expression to have stumbled into some kind of secret war. Was the major hired to be let loose on the enemy and everyone in the hunter's way? That would certainly fit the major's reputation.

"I still don't understand what's so dangerous about this. So what, parts of the net have failures that is no reason to stack up weapons," he interjected. "Isn't such a crisis supposed to be handled by the NSA, CIA or whoever else?" Mr. Bain put one hand on the table and looked at Daniel in slight irritation.

"Oh, believe me. I have spoken to all the authorities. They underestimate the situation and lack either the motivation or the means to do something, but perhaps this will convince you." With another press of a button a document appeared on the wall. "This is a report from the NSA! Yesterday they lost the connection to one of the surveillance satellites as it crossed over North America. Experts say it is totally fried and cannot be repaired. However it may be possible that someone has acquired full control of the satellite. According to NASA it has changed its orbit and it may have a strong possibility of crashing down on earth. We have established that before we lost contact the satellite had an open connection to the internet over a private rooftop dish." Scanning the document confirmed to Daniel what Mr. Bain said.

"Is this dangerous enough for you, Mr. Connor?" Daniel was at a loss for words. "We will find this threat and dispose of it." He adjusted his tie once again as if the gesture would make him ready for battle. On his face was a defiant grin.

To be continued....
