A new story series I have started, going to try and update every weekend. All characters named within this story are Copyrighted to their owners. John Al and Jake are mine.

"John, John wake up," A fox said, standing over the large black dragon.

"Not now Jake, ten more minutes?" John asked.

"Ten minutes and you'll be late for work," Jake said slapping John on the head.

"Fine, fine, I'm up," John said sitting up in his bed, he was wearing only his boxers.

"Get your uniform on, if you ever want to get into a ship in space you will have to impress the officers on the ground, told you to go to the officer's school," Jake said with a laugh as he walked off.

John grumbled and stood up slowly. He stretched, his back and wing joints popping as he did. He walked over to his closet and opened it, grabbing his Navy uniform and putting it on. He was just an Chief Petty Officer, not the kind of officer he wanted to be. For five years he had been trying to get to Lieutenant so that he could get his hands on a ship and get off the planet. Five long years. Jake was already Protector Grade 5, the highest in the Ship Security Forces. Any day he wanted he could leave on a ship, but he wants to serve on Johns.

"Hurry up John, don't need you being late, last thing you need on your record now," Jake called.

John knew that all too well. The Empire of Planet's had tightened it's grip on everything since the talk of a rebellion started up. One slip up could end his Navy life, and any chance to became a Captain of a ship.

John walked into the kitchen where Jake was. Jake was in his suit of armor, personalized for each Security member. It fit his figure perfectly, showing off every bit of his muscles, the helmet was a kind of liquid metal mix; it would form around his head and then solidify. Even as an Admiral John wouldn't get such good armor.

"Jake, have you seen my shoes?" John asked.

"They're not on your feet, nor mine," Jake said looking at John's bare feet.

"Right, lot of help you are," John said with a small laugh then walked into the living room.

"Get your shoes on and meet me in the car," Jake said walking out the front door as John slipped his shoes on.

John hurried outside and into the small blue car where Jake waited for him.

"Ok, ok, I made it, let's get going," John said.

Jake started up the car and they began their forty three minute drive to the Navy base. Jake wanted to be like most of other men there and stay on base, but John didn't want to hear it, he wanted a house with a nice view of the mountains, he hoped to live on some mountains some day.

"So Jake, once I get me a ship, what do you think I should choose? A destroyer sounds nice. Fast and powerful guns, but it can't take a hit so well. Or I could try and get a Battleship, slow but can tank the damage of four or five destroyers before being in trouble. Or I could try and be-"John said before Jake interrupted.

"How about you work your ass off to get to an officer so we can get a frigate and make our mark," Jake said.

"Yeah, right," John said and looked out the window.

"Sorry John, I didn't mean to snap or anything, just tired of this damn empire. You have been doing every fucking thing these jackass officers and officials have asked of you and they have yet to even let you on a ship," Jake said.

"It's alright Jake, it'll happen sometime," John said looking at Jake.

"I'm just tired of their rule," Jake said.

"You're starting to talk like one of those rebels Jake,"

"Yeah, but you know me, I can't give orders, I only know how to follow," Jake said.

"I know," John said.

The rest of the ride was silent, John watched the buildings and cars and other furs pass by as Jake drove. Finally they pulled into the base, several men were out doing PT already. John got out and straightened out his uniform. Jake got out and closed his door, locked the car and started to walk off.

"Hey Jake, got any plans of after work?" John asked.

"For once, yes I do, I have a meeting, sorry John," Jake said.

"Oh, alright," John said and walked into the base.

The day went by like always, giving orders, taking even more, work, work, work, and after that, a little more work. At the end of the day John walked back out to the car, Jake was there waiting for him.

"So, how'd it go?" Jake asked.

"The Admiral wasn't in today, I couldn't talk to him," John said.

"Well, don't worry about it," Jake said.

"What? I thougt you'd be more upset about that," John said tilting his head to the side.

"Just you wait," Jake said and got into the car.

"What do you mean?" John asked as he sat down and closed the door.

"Oh, nothing," Jake said with a small smile.

The drive home consisted of small talk about their day, John had done nothing of interest, Jake broke up a fight between two cadets, one of which made the mistake of punching Jake. John had done that once, and to say the least he will never try to fight Jake again. Even with his species increased strength, reflexes and bone density Jake was able to break an arm two ribs and a tooth without even suffering but one blow, the first one John laid on him.

They pulled into their driveway.

"Well, I have to catch that meeting," Jake said.

"Well, have fun," John said going to open the door.

"Oh, you're coming with me," Jake said.

"What?" John asked and turned to look at Jake, seeing only his face and arm as it reached over and covered his muzzle with a cloth, he smelt Chloroform.

John opened his eyes. He was sitting in a dimly lit room, just a table and a light over him. He tried to look past the light but everything bled into darkness after the light ring. He heard footsteps and then a lady appeared in the ring of light along with Jake.

"Jake? What am I doing here?" John asked.

"Shush John, let her speak." Jake said as they sat.

"John Dragoon Al, loyal to the Empire for over five years now. Starting off at a low rank but in just a year rising to just below and officer, impressive. But then, even after four years of hard work you have yet to be allowed to get your own ship or become an officer for the Empire. How do you feel about this?" The woman asked.

"Um, well." John started.

"You feel poor, mistreated, and just wanting to get back at the Empire for what they have done, correct?" She asked.

"Well, yes, I guess so," John said.

"Well, I have an offer for you," The woman said.

"W-what is it?" John asked.

"I want to offer you a ship," She said.

"A ship?" John asked.

"Yes, a ship, lights!" She yelled.

The room light up suddenly, much, much larger than what John had though. It was inside the old spaceport, and a Captial Battleship was sitting in dock. It was an old model, by three grades at least. It was a Harvest class, one mile long, half high half wide. How they had managed to keep this thing hidden was beyond John.

"That ship? For me?" John asked.

"Yes, her name is The Asylum, a mighty war ship in her day, and several new additions have been made, as you can see the eight forward guns have been upgraded to quad instead of dual cannons, the two back ones have been turned into tri. There are an extra fifty point defense guns along her hull, ten of those around the bridge. But in return you must do one simple thing for us," She said.

"What's that?" John asked.

"Raid and plunder Empire ships whenever you see them. Attack cargo and trade lines, military transports, the like. But leave civilian ships alone. Do you accept?" She asked.

"I, I don't know, I," John said.

"John Al, do you accept?" She asked again.

"Yes, I accept the terms," He said looking at the ship, "do you have a crew set up?

"We have a few, won't be anywhere near full. We have Jackie Xenta, on of the best engineers out there. An engineer named Simon, enhanced to work in the engine rooms. Khador Green, an expert communications and hacker. Jake here will be your lead security. We have one of the best snipers we could find, his name is Red. Fiad Dinenanu, the best of the field medics from the Empire. Farkas Noxx, an expert dog fighter, and we have state-of-the-art Specter fighters for him to fly. Onyx Shadowwolf, the weapon smith behind most of the new guns on the ship. And a cook named Sivilla. All will be ready to work tomorrow, we will launch the ship along with the two other new capital ships being launched tomorrow. As soon as you are in orbit you are to make a jump to the planet Jericho XIII, that's where a large military convoy will be waiting for you and your team to attack. This is your first mission, no civilian ships are to be harmed, all military ships are to be destroyed or damaged. That is when you will make your mark, every large supply of anything we will call you to attack. When we are not giving you a mission we want you to raid supply depots, ship yards, trade ports, and factories. Never attack civilian ships or structures, only military. We will make the Empire know we are here, and let the people know that we can fight back. You are dismissed John, you may go meet your ship." The lady smiled and got up, walking off and leaving Jake and John alone.

"How do you like it?" Jake asked.

"I couldn't ask for more," John said staring at his new ship.
