CHAPTER 2 : FLAWED EXPECTATIONS

"Alright Maxwell , put your paws with the t.m.d. in it inside the sphere and do what we practiced before ok" said Daniel , then a gaping hole teleported in the middle of the air, Maxwell was expecting that, but his mission is to get a testing device in the future , if he retrieves it back , then the experimentation was a success!, all he has to do is step into the gaping hole, and travel in to the future , get the device , go back in the current year, so that the device will prove that it is well functioning. So he got his gun , Daniel got ready for the transportation ,he closed his eyes and inhaled for preparation , then Maxwell slowly entered the hole. As he walks, he felt a gush of wind that ran through his fur, a cold ice touch was felt on his hands , and then he slowly opened his eyes , but as he opens his eyes , he started to get a feeling that something was wrong , and as he fully opened his eyes , he witnessed an abandoned warehouse , he was confused because he was supposed to be time manipulated in the future years of the laboratory. But the place was no laboratory , he felt like it was an abandoned plantation house of some sort , he opened his flashlight and walked around , the day was still shining , and patches of light can through the broken glass holes of the hall way were Maxwell was exploring , he felt an eerie feeling that the place was very familiar but yet so very different. Then as he walks through the hall way , in the left side were the windows , and in the right were rows of rooms , some were still fine but has some rusts and some were completely broken, at a moment , he reached a room were it was completely open ,or rather the door broke and decomposed , he observed the room and noticed that vegetation took over the place. He kept exploring the room because he was baffled in his mind of some sort that the place reminded him of something , then he noticed dead decomposing bodies , he was shocked and covered his mouth , the stench was the one who caught his attention , but Maxwell noticed that the dead bodies have lab clothing , after that he is starting to get a conclusion , but suddenly the t.m.d on his wrist started to speak , "ALERT! ALERT! SINGULARITY APPROACHING! SINGULARITY APPROACHING!" Maxwell was again confused because the word "singularity" was not covered in his training nor term lectures , he looked around the room and looked for any changes , he ran out the hall way and looked at the window then saw a spheroid bubble in the horizon , it was getting bigger and bigger and it engulfed everything that it passed while it grew , then Maxwell realized that he was too going to be engulfed and it was headed right his way , he prepared himself ,closed his eyes again , then suddenly a big gush of air rushed towards maxwells body , still closing his eyes , he tried to fight the gush of air with all his might , then he slowly opened his eyes , then -the gush of air- disappeared then the environment changed. Maxwell is now in a BURNING warehouse! He was shocked! And was totally caught off guard, he looked around him what he assumed to be a warehouse was completely on fire. He ran to the other end of the hallway and to his surprise, A PERSIAN CAT wearing a lab coat with a partially burning sleeve ran out from a room and ran with him to the other end of the hallway , he was surprised that someone was there , and as he reached the end of the hallway , a sliding door was seen , that was never there when he last remembered , he is now in an atrium were a big stature was in the middle and a big space was surrounding it while the place was still burning he continued on searching for an exit , then suddenly , an explosion near him occurred and the it was so massive , that the shockwave tossed him out of his feet and ended up face first in the floor , he tried to stand back up again , but the heat and the pain was keeping him down the floor , while he was laid down the floor , he looked up to a door , and saw a writing on top of it , he looked very closely and it wrote , KATORGA-12 , he was surprised , then he looked around and people were panicking all around him , and then he realized , that this was the laboratory he was working on, but why is it burning? And is the abandoned warehouse he assumed is the laboratory in the near future? , then he got back up to his feet and put the questions aside , and then he thought that there was an exit in the KATORGA-12 room that leads to the main lobby were probably everyone is congregating. So he opened the double doors and ran upstairs , he covered his mouth due to the intoxicating gas that was produced from the flames all around him, then suddenly , the ceiling of the hall way collapsed before him , so his way was blocked to reach the other end , so he took a detour to a room that reaches the other end of the hall way , even though the room was severely burning , he tried to walk as fast as he can slowly and carefully , then a husky appeared on the other door , Maxwell looked at him for a while , then continued on , then he felt that the floor below him was fragile and his senses felt that it was about to collapse , then he looked behind him , and suddenly the floor below the husky stranger was suddenly gave up , the husky suddenly fell with the floor , but max leaped from his position and grasped the husky stranger's hand as he was about to completely fall down to the burning floor below , as both was struggling to not fall below , the husky stranger looked at Maxwell while he was dangling from the broken floor and shouted thank you and then Maxwell replied "don't thank me just yet!" then Maxwell gathered up all his might and pulled the husky stranger out of the whole floor , Maxwell panted and noticed that the husky's foot was broken , he looked in the husky's eyes and said "we will get out of this together" and then the husky replied "my feet is broken , you half to carry on , save yourself" and then Maxwell answered "give me your hand" and then the husky did what he was told and reached out for Maxwell's hand , and then the husky was carried behind Maxwell's back while he struggles to walk through the burning room , his feet was aching and his whole buddy was completely hot , but the hope of survival kept him in his energy. He walked through the hall way and finally into the main lobby , the main lobby was not on fire and it was sort of a refuge centre , and the survivors were there , and he put the husky down the side , then the husky whispered to him " thank you , thank you very much for saving my life". Then another gush of air was felt through his fur , as the husky slowly disintegrated with the wind and as the main lobby slowly decomposed , then the gush of air stopped again , and now he was back to the abandoned looking laboratory . now Maxwell is thinking of what really happened in the laboratory , and was thinking if the t.m.d. would be of use. But as he looked behind him , the stature in the atrium was now different to what now he remembers , he noticed that the stature changed to a canine-like husky , and it was on salute , Maxwell thought that the stature represents a general due to his honourable-like clothing around him. As he was further looking at the statue , a loud banging was heard through the doors , Maxwell's was surprised , he quickly thought that this was no ordinary furry , the banging doors were not normal as any other knocks , it was more louder and more stronger, his tail dropped down ,and he brought out his gun , and looked at it in the sights. As he positioned himself to open the door , he quickly changed his mind when all of a sudden , a roar was heard on the other side of the door , now he knew this was no ordinary person.
