Hello my name is, Nicolai I come from a pretty normal human family. I grew up into decent young man but, a change was in waiting. My parents are close friends to a regal family which was cool. Until the day I would be reintroduced to their only daughter. The year was 1986 towards the end of August before school started. Naturally nobody really likes going back come, September.

It was a wonderful Thursday morning my fifteenth birthday had just passed four days ago. The greatest present I received was a fifty's style long runner surfboard, a gift from my grandparents. My folks weren't to keen on the idea of me surfing. They were hoping that I'd follow in their footsteps. Granted their jobs are cool in all but, I want to follow my own path. During the course the morning my folks got a phone call from their close friends. So we packed up enough clothes for the weekend along with my new surf board.

They told me that their friends own a small private section of beach so I could use my board. This was awesome, so I patiently looked out the window as the countryside went by. About half way there my folks were talking about how long it's since their last visit. Until my mother turned around in her seat and looked at me. She started to tell me things I should know before we arrived.

"Son, please remember your manners when we get there. I want you to make a good first impression understand." Mom said. "Of course mother I know better than to act like an idiot." I replied. "Keep in mind they are long time friends of your mother and I. They've helped us out when we fell on hard times. When they had hit rock bottom themselves we returned the favor. Don't be surprised if they act overly excited to see us. It has been a few years since we last saw each other." Dad pointed out. "I understand fully father I'll behave." I said.

"Before I forget they aren't like us they're slightly different. So do bare that in mind." Mom stated. "If they're anthro it's perfectly fine there are quite few at my school." I informed. "Still be on your best behavior I don't want you making an ass of yourself." Dad stated. "I will so what kind of anthro's are they?" I wondered. "They come from a long family of pure anthro Cheetahs." Mom replied. "Their daughter is about your age by now you probably don't remember her. Considering you were only five years old at the time." Dad said.

I wasn't to sure on that little fact but, she could be a total snob or completely different. For all I knew I had to behave or I wouldn't be allowed to go places again. Whatever they're like I'll mind my manners anyway. Granted I have nothing against anthros but, I do get picked on by a few at school. So this was going to be a little difficult for me I had to keep my folks happy. Hopefully they weren't going to give me a hard time for tagging along.

It took us about an hour to pull up to the front gates and paged the house. The gates opened a moment later and we drove up to the house. This house was huge even from a distance I couldn't believe it. This weird thought crossed my mind, was what they do for a living to own this place. When we pulled up to the front door the valet opened the doors for us. As we stepped out, the valet told us not to worry about our things. They would be brought to the guest rooms shortly. So we walked inside to greet our hosts. I don't remember them from when I was little but, my folks weren't worried.

"Welcome, friends it's been far too long since your last visit. How've you been?" Dylan smiled. "It's good to see you to, we're doing well." Dad said, shaking his hand. "Oh, my you certainly got bigger since the last time I saw you. I'm sure your girl back home is missing you dearly." Natalie replied. As I offered to shake her hand but, she had something else planned. She grabbed my arm, wrapped me up in a hug, while my face was buried in her chest. "Sadly, he doesn't have one, another thing he going to need to breathe." Mom said. Once she let me go I was literally at a loss for words after such greeting.

Dylan was a little more subtle than his wife since he simply shook my hand. After greeting each properly he ushered us further into the house. "Our daughter is down by the beach I believe that's where she told us she'd be. If you want you can head down there to enjoy yourself. While your folks and us catch up on lost time. We'll send someone down to find you two when lunch is ready." He said. "Thank you, sir." I said. So I left to find my stuff then I walked down to the beach. Once I got there I noticed a couple of changing tents. So I picked the closest one to me and kindly walked inside.

"Umm, this one is occupied." A young woman said, covering her chest. "OH! I'm sorry please, excuse me." I replied exiting the tent. After I left I went into the next tent over to change. As I removed my clothes it dawned on me who she was. The very same cheetah I used to play with when I was little. When I finally exited the tent she was standing nearby as I walked over. "It's certainly been a long time since I've seen you." I stated rubbing the back of my head. "I thought for a minute there you forgot about me." She stated. "To be honest I did, so are you going swimming?" I remarked feeling silly.

"Actually, I was going to go skinny dipping, until you walked in on me." She said blushing. "Yeah, I'm sorry about that." I replied. After that I grabbed my board I hit water like a bullet and she wasn't far behind me. I'm used to a boogey board but, not a long board so it was little odd. As I waded out in the water I couldn't help but, watch her swim. I felt something strange as I watched her but, I couldn't explain it. Naturally I ignored the feeling until I got a moment alone. Hopefully she doesn't tell our folks about what happened in the tent. If she does I'm in big trouble with not only my folks but, hers.

As time passed I got a feel of hoe the board handled, sure enough I was surfing like a pro. She watched for a while until I swam by her the look in her eyes she wanted to join me. "Want to tag along with me on the next one?" I asked. "Sure, just give a second don't go any further out." She replied, swimming closer. Once she grabbed the side of the board I helped her straddle the board. Waiting till she balanced herself then I paddled us out further. She tried helping me paddle but, it made moving hard, so asked her to stop.

We spent a good while waiting I could tell she was getting impatient just by the swishing of her tail. "Be careful you might knock us off it you swing it too hard." I informed. "Sorry, about that I'm a little nervous this is my first time." She replied. "Relax, just stay loose you'll do fine, I promise." I reassured. "I hope you're right I would hate to wipe out the second we stand up." She pointed out. "How about this you stay seated while I stand as we ride this wave." I replied. Once she agreed to do that I paddled to where most of the waves were coming from.

Once she was ready I turned the board around then began to catch the wave. As we picked up speed I sprang to me feet a second later. I pushed the nose of the board down into and turned to the right. While she leaned the opposite way that I did just to keep us balanced. When it was over she wanted off in the worst way. So I let the wave we rode carry us all the way to shore. After she got off I turned around then swam back out to enjoy the ocean.

While I kept surfing, she sat down at the water's edge watching me intently. After an hour I allowed the last wave to bring me to shore. Once I was close to shore I got off my board picked it up and went straight to the tents. She went to ask me what was going on until she saw where I went. My only concern at the time was to wash the salt water out of my hair. Since I was on that topic I thought it be a good idea to tell her. So exited my tent and walked over to where she was sitting.

"Hey, I'd wash the salt water from your fur before you dry off completely." I informed. "Sure but, there's a small problem we have only one rinsing shower. I don't mind if we share only if you don't mind." She stated walking towards it. "You go ahead of me you are going to take a lot longer than I will." I replied. She shrugged her shoulders and left towards the shower. I watched the tide come in while she took her time cleaning up. Suddenly she screamed so I rushed over to see what the problem was. When I opened the curtain she was freaking over a little crab walking around.

I bent over picked it up then moved him someplace safer this way she could finish. While was holding him I made sure my hands weren't anywhere near the claws. Granted I've been pinched before but, this little guy meant business. Once I put him far enough away from her I calmly walked away. She looked terrified when I walked over to her all I could do was smile. Of course I felt bad for her but, the crab also having to endure that.

After about twenty minutes she was finished, so I walked over to clean myself off. Once I got through drying off then I returned to my changing tent to get out of my swimming clothes. When I finished I walked back up to the manor. I took my time taking in the sights of the yard they had. Little did I know she was following close behind me. So I let her just in case it was a mere coincidence.

"What's the big rush nobody has sent for us, yet. So why not enjoy being outside a little longer." She said. "I am in my own way so don't mind me." I stated. "You've certainly changed a lot since the last time we were together, Nicolai." She smiled. "That maybe but, I wouldn't feed too much into, Viola." I replied. "That remains to be seen my friend, so anything new in life." She wondered. "Nothing worth repeating really just getting up looking for a part time job coming home and going to bed." I informed.

"Talk about a small world sounds like a normal day for me." She smiled. "I figured since you come from a noble family. You wouldn't have to find any kind of work for life." I said. "Nope, my family believes you must earn your own living in order to get ahead. So I did as they taught me figuring it would all pay off in the end." She stated. "I know that very feeling myself so I guess we're in the same boat." I replied. We spent a good while catching up on lost time. We were amazed at how much we actually had in common.

It felt like talking with somebody you would see yourself marrying in the future. Then again I don't think I'm husband material but, only time will tell. She was something else I couldn't believe how pretty she was. As for me I knew we would go our separate ways. Granted things might play out differently for the two of us. I learned early on that nothing in our lives is ever set in stone. You're just along for the ride until you're able to take life by the reins.

"There you two are I went down to the beach and you weren't there. So how long have you children been here?" My mother said. "About thirty minutes why, lunch ready?" I replied. "Yeah, it is so let's go." She stated. So we got up then walked towards the house behind my mother. Once we walked into the dining room sat down and enjoyed lunch. After lunch I went back outside to relax under the partly cloudy sky. Sure enough I feel asleep it was a while before I woke up.

So I returned inside to take my own self guided tour of the place. I didn't go unnoticed sure enough, Viola decided to show me around. It was very nice of her to give me a grand tour of her home. This also gave us another chance to get to know each other a little more. She was more than willing to tell me her other favorite hobbies, interests, and music. A few things she liked I wasn't interested in. Though when she talked about what she wants in a boyfriend. That actually caught me off guard since her wants and needs were the same as mine.

My mother told me love has a funny way of throwing a wrench in to your life. I didn't pay much attention to at the time figuring I wouldn't find anyone worthy. I learned that you can't ask life what you want from it. Though it does guide you down the road that's been built already. This was an undeniable fact which a lot of people would most likely agree with. So the way I gathered I had an uphill battle that I'd never win.

The weekend went by rather fast but, I was having a lot of fun. It was a little hard on me since I really didn't want to leave. So I packed my things then walked out to the van. This way it was one less thing we had to worry about. Once my folks stuff was all packed into the van we said our goodbyes. Then we drove away, while Viola and her parents waved goodbye from the porch. When the house was out of sight I pulled out a book and began reading.

My mother was rather shocked to see me so quiet the whole way home. Once we got home I helped my father unpack the van. He couldn't believe I was so quiet he wanted to ask me why. Mom told him to leave me alone considering I was indeed tired. Yet this aching feeling started brewing in my heart again. This was a feeling I didn't understand or maybe I just didn't want to. A wonderful thing denial, you never know when it will come in handy.

Six years have passed since I last saw, Viola we had become pen-pals. We'd send each other two letters a month just to see how the other was doing. Over the last year she stopped sending me letters as frequent. Now she would send one letter every two to three months. I figured she had other things going on that weren't my business. After I graduated high school I got accepted into a decent college and found an apartment close by. Once I moved in I was going to need a roommate to help with the bills and rent.

My other long time female friend, Jasmine moved in with me so it wasn't too creepy. After a long day at school there was a letter on my computer desk it was addressed to me but, no return address. I thought was strange at first but, I sat down to open it. As I went to read it, Jasmine came home with her girlfriend. They said hello then went right into the bedroom a moment later. I already knew that I wouldn't see those two until dinnertime.

So I went back to reading the letter it read: "Dear Nicolai, I know it's been a while since I last sent you a letter and for that I'm sorry. My job eats up a lot of my time along with school. I've decided to transfer from my current college to one close by. This way we can see each other from time to time. I hope you don't mind but, I took the opportunity of finding directions to your current address. So when I do come to visit, don't get angry with me if I show up unannounced. I'm really looking forward to seeing you and maybe catch up on lost time. Most likely I'll be coming to town within a few days to a week. So promise to keep a look out for me, okay. I can't wait to see you again my friend. Your loving friend, Viola."

She was right I couldn't wait to see her and catch up on lost time. I was wondering when something like this would happen. Though I can say that I'm officially excited. It's been far too long since we last saw each other. So I can only imagine what she looks like now. Granted I've grown into a respectable man according to my mother and Jasmine. Viola must be turning quite a few heads with her beauty. So I had a little fun thinking about what she looked like.

Two weeks had gone since she sent me that letter. I was starting to wonder if she would ever visit. Little did I know that I would soon get my answer. When I walked up to my apartment door I could hear, Jasmine talking with somebody. I was wondering if she broke up with her current girlfriend, Willow. As I listened closely the woman's voice sounded very familiar. Yet I had some trouble acting placing a face with the voice I was hearing. So I opened the door, set my things down and walked into the living room. When I looked at both women I didn't recognize the cheetah sitting next to, Jasmine.

After a swift greeting I walked into my room and gave them some privacy. Until she walked in my room shortly after I sat down at my desk. I didn't pay her much attention figuring she was only curious. "I'm sorry for not sitting and making conversation. Sadly I've got quite a bit on my mind lately." I said. "That's fine I understand you must have had a hard day at work." She replied walking away. While I attended to my homework she and Jasmine were getting along.

Jasmine, has always acted like my older sister all throughout school. She was always a strong judge of character and looked out for me. I would do the same for her whenever I got the chance to. Since I had nothing further to do I went back out into the living room. To get to know our new guest before, Jasmine chewed me out. They weren't any where from the looks of things. They might have gone into her bedroom, so I watched TV.

After a while they came back from the outside overlook which didn't bother me. When the cheetah walked towards me I could sense a familiar vibe from her. The thing was I couldn't put my finger on who she was it confused me badly. Once she was standing in front of me I stood up to greet her properly. The greeting she had in mind for me was going to catch me by complete surprise.

"I've missed you so much, Nicolai." She smiled hugging me. Let me tell you something if a woman is taller than you are. There's only one place your face will end up. "Viola, I know you're excited to see him. You might not want to squeeze the life out of him." Jasmine replied chuckling. She quickly let go of me as she stepped back I tried to catch my breath. When I took a second look at happy feline, I remembered. "Viola...Wow! You certainly have changed. Please, sit we have much to talk about my friend." I said taking a good look at her.

Once she sat down her tail continued swishing happily enough that it got distracting. Jasmine, decided to leave us alone, so she grabbed her purse and truck keys. When she left, Viola decided to make her real intentions known. "Would you mind if just came right out and said what's really on my mind?" She asked. "By all means you can, I don't mind it's been far too long." I replied. Sometimes I should learn not to say certain things to an overly excited woman.

The second I stopped talking she pounced and started nuzzling me. As she purred heavily I could tell what she was in the mood for. Granted I wouldn't mind doing that with her but, I preferred to earn it. I made sure that she knew how I felt about doing that too soon. She calmly backed off then we started catching up. It was a lot better than the alternative she had in mind a few minutes ago.

We spent a good long time talking about things we've done over the years then she changed the subject. It was fine at first until her whole mood changed from happy-go lucky to sedate-serious. "Is everything alright I hope I didn't say something upsetting." I said. "No, my family told me something a while back that I wasn't ready for. They feel it's time for me to settle down and raise a family. Of course I had nothing against it but, there wasn't anybody at my school worthy." She informed lowering her ears. "Well, I can understand it from both points of view. What gets me is that you came here to tell me all this. As if they had already picked your future husband out." I replied.

She got quiet all of a sudden that was all I needed to know. I'm not surprised our families were pretty close. "So what do you plan on doing from here?" I wondered. "Not sure I know we go way back as do our parents but, this something different. This isn't something I want to do on a whim believe me but, I'm sure you agree." She pointed out. "Well, in all honesty I haven't been to sure even on the concept of dating. Granted I've tried but, nobody seem worth it." I replied. "That's kind of a shock you are attractive surely someone took an interest." She stated. "Not really they were interested in the what more than the whom. Besides formalities aren't on anyone's priority list anymore." I informed.

"If it matters to you I think you'd make a woman very happy." She smiled. "Thanks but, how can I compete with those who like to show boat. What do they have that I just don't seem to be aware of?" I stated. "A strong moral fiber along with common courtesy." She replied. "On that little note I'll agree with you there. So anything new in you personal life worth retelling." I wondered. She didn't have much to say on that particular subject. So we talked about other things more interesting.

The night sky slowly set in as we were enjoying each other's company. It came time for her to leave she had to get to work early the next morning. She really didn't want to go but, I had no place for her to sleep. I offered to sleep on the couch while she slept in my room. Naturally she declined, grabbed her things and left. Some thing about the look in her eyes made me feel guilty. Like I should have tried harder to make her stay. It was a look of loneliness I knew all to well, so I ran after her.

Once I saw her car drive away it was already to late until her car stopped. The reverse lights came on and the car drove backwards stopping besides me on the sidewalk. Of course when I opened it she put the car in park, turned off the engine and looked at me. "Come back inside you don't have to leave." I said, grabbing her hand. After I help her out of the car I closed the door. We went back inside and back upstairs into the apartment a short time later.

The following morning I awoke looking at her sleeping, until a pounding headache ruined it. Last night's events seemed to blur together as if it was a TV show. So I quietly crawled out of bed, made my way to the shower. Little did I know, Jasmine was sitting on the couch as I walked by. "Good, morning stud you know I should be mad at you. Your little adventure kept me up half the night." She said. "Well, consider it payback for all the nights you kept me awake." I stated with a smirk. "Fair enough so how was it?" She inquired with an evil smile. "That falls under none of your business." I replied, walking into the bathroom.

Once I got out of bathroom, Viola walked in a second later and dragged me back in. Of course, Jasmine was laughing the whole time that went on. "Go get her tiger show that cheetah who's boss." She snickered, as the door closed. "Viola, we don't have time for another round you have to be at work soon. Besides I have class in twenty so please let me go." I pointed out. "Alright, I'll see you later baby." She huffed letting me go then I walked out.

"When you get off of work come here I'll be home but, Jasmine won't." I said before closing the door. "Maybe I should just move in this way I don't have to make several stops." She stated through the door. "You do what you feel is best I don't care what you do, babe." I informed. "That's good to know at least that will give me a chance to empty out my car." She said. "I have the strange feeling you haven't found yourself an apartment yet." I replied. She told me she had a place but, it wasn't big enough so the rest stayed in her car.

"Well, I'm off I'll see you later." I said, grabbing my stuff. Once I got into my car it was a short drive to campus. The whole day seemed to have flown by which suited me just fine. In all honesty I wanted to go home not because she was there. I needed to get ready for the upcoming mid-terms, I hate those in the worst way. Besides I'm probably not the only college student in the world that feels that way.

The drive home was slow but, steady when I pulled out front Viola's car wasn't there. I assumed she was on her way or she might be stuck in traffic. Usually around this time it's rush hour on the larger roads and highways was bad. That's why I try to stay off the highway during the entire afternoon. Trust me you can't say anything about it without the word cluster in it. So I went upstairs into our apartment to get dinner started. This way by the time those two get home it should be ready.

Sure enough I was right I could hear, Jasmine, her girlfriend and Viola coming up the stairs. So I got the dining room all ready this way all they had to do was clean up. Once they opened the door I greeted them then told them dinner is just about done. This surprised, Viola learning the fact I cooked. The girls wasted no time walking into the bathroom to wash up. When I pulled it out of the oven they were sitting down.

After dinner, Jasmine and her girlfriend walked into their bedroom. Viola and I sat down on the couch to see if anything was worth watching on TV. With the Christmas holidays only twenty days away there's usually something good. Much to our surprise nothing, so we walked out to the overlook for some fresh air. As we enjoyed the crisp December air the sky was clear with a crescent moon lighting up the sky. "Babe does anything about the night air that makes this day feel complete." She asked turning to look at me.

"You know you're right it does feel like things are going the way they should." I replied looking back. "So why don't we make tonight special let's go someplace more private. Before whatever romantic moment we have gets ruined." She stated pointing to Jasmine's room. "Sure sounds good to me I'll grab our coats and my keys." I smiled. Once I got everything we quietly snuck out of the apartment. Walked slowly down the stairs, out to my car and drove off.

"So where would you like to go my dear?" I asked. "Let's go down to the waterfront park for a nice walk." She said. "Of course as you wish my dear." I stated. It didn't take us long to get there once I found a nice place to park. So we stepped out, looked around, closed the doors and went for our walk. There weren't many people out at this time most were spending time with family at home. The very same thing could be said about us though in our own way.

It was strange we were walking along the water's edge on such a clear night. Yet, there seem to be the hint of falling snow with every few steps we took. We didn't seem to mind at first until it began to fall slightly harder. When we looked out into the river again the snow looked as if it was dancing. In an elegant waltz, twirling along the water's placid mirrored surface. It was a beautiful sight to behold we couldn't take our eyes off of it. She leaned against me as I wrapped my arm around her and held her close. We knew that this was the start of something wonderful.

I never felt this way with any woman I ever been with in the past. Just something about her made me see things differently. This moment could have lasted until we could no longer breathe. She was everything I could ever ask for in a woman. I knew that one day I'd find the love of my life. It was a shock that she came to find me instead. Whatever the reasons her happiness was my only concern. If I can make her smile then my day was complete.

We didn't get back home until 2 o'clock in the morning so we quickly snuck back in. Once we got into my bedroom we cuddled for a while then fell asleep. I didn't care if I had school or work in the morning, I was going to spend the day with her. Our lives were complete we would make sure that this was an equal relationship. The only concern I think we shared was would our families approve of such an arrangement. When got home I took her out to dinner and to talk about telling our folks. She told me we should take one thing at a time. After paying for our meal, we drove home and enjoyed ourselves.

When I awoke I noticed she wasn't there so got up to see if she was still home. As I walked into the kitchen she was making breakfast for us. What I didn't realize until got closer she was naked. That suited me just fine my only problem was what, Jasmine would say. If she walked out of her room and saw her like that. So I went see if she was awake at all. When I got there it look liked she left early this morning. After I felt content I returned to the kitchen to say hello then enjoy our meal together.

I'll told her that I'd call our families over the weekend to gauge their reactions. About our decision to start dating each other and other plans. She had no problem with my plans to call them this weekend. My only fear was they weren't going to approve but, I was hopeful. When the weekend rolled around I called our families and told them the news. Their reaction blew us away they were excited to hear such wonderful news. I thought was going to collapse from the shear shock. When they decided to come by and visit us for a while.

During the day we spent getting the place ready for their arrival. What came next wasn't going to be a total shock. When they came we weren't ready for what they had in store. They were so excited for us they wanted to make sure that would honor their rules. Of course when we told them we were already intimate that didn't go over to well. After some explaining they accepted the fact we made love. They made sure we would wait until we decided to marry. We knew it wasn't going to be easy to resist but, we promised to try.

"Since we're on the subject weddings, how would you plan it, Viola?" My mother asked. "I want a winter wedding but, not one during a snow storm naturally. Something simple I don't want things get over complicated." Viola replied. "Well, that's fine dear but, who will be responsible for the funding." Natalie said. "I think we should just have one with very little luxury that'll be fine." Viola stated. "I guess we can figure something out when the time comes." Dylan smiled as the rest of parents agreed.

We spent all afternoon discussing possible wedding plans it made me a little uncomfortable. The thing was we just got together they might be getting ahead of themselves. Granted I didn't care either way as long as she was happy that mattered more. If one day I do take that very step I'll be ready for the craziness to come. So I sat there letting them talk about it I offered my opinion here and there. Once they had felt they got their points across they went back home.

"Since they our loving parents are gone. What do you feel up to doing?" She said with a naughty smile. "Whatever you want I don't care." I replied. She grabbed me by the arm dragged me into the bedroom for the rest of the night. The following morning I had to work so did she, we said goodbye and left. After work I stopped by a florist, picked her something nice. I knew what flowers she liked so I picked out a good variety. Once I left knowing she was either already there or on the way. Jasmine was spending the weekend with her lover. So we had the whole place to ourselves.

When I got there she wasn't home yet so I got dinner started. This way it things would be ready for when she did. After a while she came home she looked so tired. I let her relax for a while before giving her my present, which lifted her spirits. During dinner she told me about her day which explained her demeanor. I didn't mind at every job there's a person you have to tolerate. They are the kind of people when dealing with them it takes everything out of you. All that you want to do when you come home is to sleep. I wouldn't blame her if she wanted to turn in early tonight.

As time passed we grew closer eventually I purposed to her during our graduation ceremony. It shocked the entire only a few people in the crowd knew about it. With our families present in the stands, it brought tears to our mother's eyes. Our wedding is scheduled for the early winter like she wanted. The cool thing I'm paying for the whole thing without our folk's knowledge. When we come back from our honeymoon I'll probably tell them.

During the ceremony we said our vows then walked down the aisle as husband and wife. When we walked outside to the limo snow was dancing across the ground as it did once before. It seemed to be a blessing from, the heavens saying that this love will last through it all. Once everything was said and done our lives have had their share of ups and downs. After a couple of years we formed a family. Everything was complete and made sure that our children were ready for the trials of life. This is the end of our story thank you and may life grant you happiness.

The End.
