---Chapter 5--- Lucario's red eyes open up and he stares out at the fog smothered forest around the camp, he looks down at himself covered in a layer of dew and he smiles, he hadn't moved an inch last night. He jumps off the rocks and lands in front of the tent and looks inside it with the power of aura, Amy and the Pichu are still sleeping peacefully, Lucario nods and walks into the forest, he selects a dead tree and blasts it in half with an force palm attack, before the upper half of the tree can finish falling to the ground Lucario carves it up into nice sizable chunks with a metal claw attack. He lands and deftly catches a few of the logs and walks back to the camp site and begins building a new fire to make breakfast for Amy and the Pichu. He gets back to the tent and glances at the tent again before setting about building a fire, he was still annoyed with the Pichu, it wasn't Amy's problem that the little runt was left alone nor should it be Amy's responsibility to look after him, but he knew Amy knew the truth about the little one it would break her heart. In the world of Pokemon the strong and the smart stay alive and the weak and the stupid do not, this Pichu falls into the category of weak and the only way he will survive in this world is in the care of a human and he had to stumble across Amy. So much for peace and quiet but if Amy see's something in him the rest of the world doesn't she might raise him to be a warrior. Warrior, that word brings a smile to Lucario, that is what he is plain and simple his mother raised him to be a warrior for the one whose aura is like his own and with gym battles and the championships up ahead Lucario knew he would have plenty of chances to fight. He sets about building a fire and once it is burning he picks up a stick and walks to the lake on the other side of the camp site. He closes his eyes and watches the auras of the fish in the water waiting to strike at the right moment. Soon he has a few sticks that have fish skewered on them, he props them up next to the fire to let them cook and then puts another log on the fire. After an awkward breakfast in which Lucario helps Amy eat cooked fish something she never had before and forcing Pichu to eat his fish they pack up the camp. "Michael!" Amy is all smiles. "Excuse me?" Lucario looks down at her as she rubs the pichu's head gleefully. The Pichu himself seemed content in Amy's clutches. "I am gonna call him Michael, Michael Kibosaru." She puts him on her shoulder and adjusts her grip on her cane. "Michael Kibosaru the greatest warrior chu in the Pokemon League's history!" "Pichu pi!" he waves his arms gleefully. Lucario can't help but smile and be proud of Amy. No fears no doubts, just hope and dedication. And what made things better the Pichu seemed to share those traits and might just be what Amy needs to help her get all eight badges to get to the Pokemon Leagues. As they begin their days travel the skies get progressively darker and darker with grey clouds that turn black. Amy however seems more distracted by a sound that Lucario doesn't notice due to the ominous, resonating, distant thunder. "We need to run Lucario." she pulls out bulbasaur pokeball looking nervous.. Lucario is about to ask but the sound of massive insect wings buzzing reaches his ears. He turns and ducks avoid the stinger about a foot and half long just misses him. He turns quickly to see a bee like Pokemon about 4 feet tall with two legs and two arms, each arm end is long spike like appendage and its red eyes contrast sharply with its striped yellow and black body, it's a beedrill and it's a rather aggressive one if Lucario isn't careful, either Amy, Michael, or Lucario himself could end up a good deal of neurotoxin in them. Lucario however was certain of one thing... this would be Amy Kibosaru's first captured Pokemon. Amy pulls out her pokedex and points it in the general direction she hears the beedrill buzzing about. The pokedex pings and a computerized voice begins talking, explaining about the beedrills physiology and other such details that Lucario knows Amy's can tell anyone in her sleep. "Alright this will be a fun battle. GO! Bulbasaur!" She throws the pokeball and the reptilian bursts from the ball and glares at the beedrill. The massive bee Pokemon lunges jabbing with its two spike appendages but bulbasaur dodges nimbly. Lucario leans down and tells Amy what is happening. "Right, bulbasaur use vine whip now!" "Bublasaur!" the Pokemon tenses and long green vines sprout from the base of the bud on its back and extend a full seven feet and with a whip like crack it thrashes the beedrill eight times. The insect spins through the air but recovers and Amy tilts her head listening as the beedrill flies towards bulbasaur. "Now use razor leaf!" Bulbasaur crouches and once again form the base of its bud a volley of green leafs fly at beedrill the only thing that's makes these leafs out of the ordinary is that their edges are sharper than a straight razor. The beedrill dodges them with great agility and tackles bulbasaur sending him sprawling, he struggles to rise but faints. Amy tilts her head and Lucario recalls the downed Pokemon as another burst of thunder rocks the land. Lucario is ready to leap into battle but Amy is talking to Michael. "Ok Michael I want you make momma proud you go beat up that mean old bug with a thundershock attack." She kisses the top of his head. "Pichu!" The little guy runs towards the beedrill. Lucario looks at Amy in surprise. "Amy the little one will be beaten for sure." Amy just smiles. "It's like you always tell me when I get worried, aura is with us" Michael leaps and tackles beedrill in its midsection and holds tight. "Piiii..." the little Pokemon crackles with electricity and so does the storm clouds above them and it dawns on Lucario what Amy has in mind. "CHU!" The clouds fill with light as first Michael's thundershock hits both him and beedrill then ontop of the that the natural reaction of a thunderstorm reacting to an electrical impulse a second and larger bolt of lightning comes down from the sky and hits both beedrill and Michael. "Pichu!" the baby Pokemon cries out in pain and hits the ground but shakily stands up, the beedrill however is knocked out and Amy, with Lucario's help throws a pokeball which strikes beedrill and the Pokemon is turned to red light and is sucked inside the ball. The ball twitches for a few seconds then the red light on the front of the ball turns white and the ball stops twitching, Amy just caught her first Pokemon. "Well done Amy." Lucario rests a paw on her head and she smiles and shakes her head. "It wasn't just me, its thanks to bulbasaur and Michael that we won." She feels her way forward and picks up Michael who is tired but grinning, as soon as Amy picks him up he hugs her. Amy smiles and feels with her cane until the tip hits pokeball and Amy picks it up and attaches it to one of the six magnetic holsters on her belt for holding pokeballs in their shrunken state. "I think you have earned a few more berries." She pokes his stomach and he claps. After about five minutes of resting and letting the little Pichu eat his fill of berries, Amy sat him down and pulled out a bottle spray on medicine for Pokemon simply known as "Potion". Despite its simple name it is anything but simple. This mere spray on medicine regenerates damaged cells and repairs bone and muscle tissue but only to certain degree. While this medicine has yet to do much for human medicine for Pokemon it is extremely useful to help recover quickly if a Pokemon center is not close by. Amy smiles and they begin walking again and even though the rain fell from the sky in buckets Lucario felt as if he was leading Amy through the San Diego Zoo on a cloudless summer afternoon, once again he felt happy to be alive.
