This was written today and is the first sneak preview of the world I am creating. Comments and opinions are welcome :)

May I present to you, Chordae.

Light glistens off the fresh blanket of snow, an untouched sea of diamonds spread before soft grey eyes. The wind rustles her fur as she walks towards her goal, far beyond the vast ocean before her. So far above the world, not even most plants not dare grow. Flakes caught in the gust dance sweetly together, swirling with the sweet hum of the wind as wide feet paws rustle against the snow, marking the path traveled.

The smokey grey of her fur only barely stood out against the snow echoed by spots and a white under belly. Her breath flows from her, visible in the chill as she stops a moment and pulls her cloak around her tightly. Despite her natural protection against the cold, the air cut to the bone, causing icicles along the tips of her exposed fur. Ears flick with the sound of rustling snow as she turns her head towards the intrusion to the peace. A long silver braid jumped along her back as she turned, eyes scanning across the frozen wasteland, feeling the air with her whiskers and breathing in deeply for a scent. Nothing.

She took the moment to adjust her white leather armor, studded with only the best of steel which glimmered patterns upon the snow. With a tightened grip on her staff, she continues on, her goal still further along the path yet to be traveled.

"Chordae Uncia, for your Mastery over Ice cold Logic, you shall traverse the Mount Hi'im. The tallest of our mountains of which protect our school harbors a glacial cave, magically formed by our goddess Kyoka, the source of our power. This cave is filled with crystals that shall never melt and you will return with one to prove the blood of which you were gifted with upon birth."

"I will return Pujaree Cenè. I will not fail." She spoke to herself after the memory faded.

Another rustle from behind her tugged her small rounded ears to flick towards them again. Her thick tail coiled around one of her legs preparing for a possible fight as she slowly turns towards the sound. Sharp, yellow eyes met hers as she turned, staff at the ready. Snarls dripping with hunger and intent echoed about her, shattering her thoughts as she drank in this new enemy. Her heart pounded in her ears in a slight panic as the hulking wolf lowered itself in preparation for attack.

"This isn't practice. This is for real. I can't lose when I'm so close.." she thought.

Her left hand cups around her staff tip as a soft ice-blue glow begins to form as she struggled to swallow the knot in her throat. Everything seemed like a blur as the wolf lunged at her with a high pitched howl, moving faster then she'd ever seen something move in her fourteen years of life. Jumping backwards in a somersault, she extends her hand and aims at the wolf on her way back down, a beam of concentrated cold, radiating with magic flowing towards it. As the beam dissipates, the wolf shakes itself for a moment, slightly stunned, before the snarls return and he lowers himself for another charge.

She lands gracefully and places her hands at her staff again, thrusting shards of sharpened ice towards the beast as it dodged. Piece by piece flew past him as the blur of white darted around her. She followed him with the assault until he jumped behind a rock, the tell tale sound of his breathing causing her ears to flick towards him.

She halts her attack and closes her hand around the tip of her staff, pulling essence from within the magical crystal atop it. Slowly, as she pulls, the bright ice-blue light solidifies into a katana made entirely of ice. Placing her staff to the side as she takes the ice blade in both hands and prepares to strike as the wolf lunges again. Gnashing teeth meet her shin, rolling off the studs and tearing at leather as she sliced towards the wolf, slicing one of his hind legs off at the knee joint. The wolf yipped in pain and hobbled back, one leg less and whimpers, it's white fur stained with red around the leg flooding the snow.

Chordae lowers herself to defend again, the katana prepared to strike. The wolf looks to her and bows, the leg she has chopped from him, swirling with snow and disappearing. Blood glistening against the snow, suddenly gone as the wolf disappears with a sudden strong gust laced with magic. She stands slowly, placing the ice katana into her belt carefully and grabs her staff, the crystal atop it shimmering a soft white glow. As she takes a step towards where the wolf vanished, a strong swirl of snow and wind cascades before her, forcing her to shield her eyes from the harsh sting. Breathing became near impossible as the wind howled and tore at the mountainside, revealing the hidden cave.

Her hand lowers reverently as she takes in the sight. The ice within the cave emanating a deep glacial blue as she enters. Her own crystal shimmered warmly, just a meager ice white compared to the majesty of beauty before her. Every step she took, she could feel the magic growing stronger, the crystals each whispering a name, some of which she recognized. Despite the depths, there was no need for light, the brilliance of the cave echoed with a welcoming illumination. She traveled for what seemed like hours before she was met with a bright flash. Eyes blinded by the view, she stood stunned for a moment before sight faded to normal, greeting her with her prize. Floating towards her, a crystal floated, whispering her name. The voice was soft in her ears and echoing a deep magic that she could not even begin to fathom. Her mind calmed as she beamed with pride hearing her title as it was whispered along with her name.

"Lady Chordae, Blade of Kyoka."

Reaching forward, she takes the crystal, still floating in her hands as she beams. A soft pop is heard as the crystal atop her staff shatters and the other rips itself from her grasp. Her prize hummed softly with the gentle sound of chimes, dancing in the wind as they gravitated towards each other, a soft blue glow warping the staff from it's pale wooden appearance to a snow white. The staff opened it's tip as the crystal embedded itself with it, the wood growing around the crystal protectively in a frosted pattern. As the staff floated back down towards her, the crystal ignites it's magical glow, a glass forming in the crevasses of the crystals new cage as if Jack Frost himself kissed a glass window. Within the Crystal, there was not only the blue of the ice, but danced fainter colors of the other elements.

"I've done it!" She exclaims as the staff rested itself in her hands so cool to the touch on her pads.

"I am no longer an apprentice of Kyoka. I have proven my worthiness for the blood I was born with. Now begins my journey towards my destiny, as her blade."
