I would post what the story is about but that would ruin the surprise ^.o

Hmm in short, this story is going to be about new beginnings, moving outside your comfort zone, and the challenges of daily life.

Driving home late in the middle of the night, Thellos turned up the radio to drown out the sound of the roaring of his engine and the rain pummeling the against winsheild. The weather had been like that all day, this was the third day in a row in it had been raining non stop. It was as though someone had taken a lake and turned it over, and the lake never went dry.

Thellos was running later then usual that night. He had gone to the ale house that he frquented every pay day. He enjoyed going there after having spent an hour or two at the gym. The gym and bar were actually within walking distance of the other.

That night there was a celebration going on, the towns favorite feam had just won their latest game against their rivals and the drinks were on the house till closing. Thellos wasnt that big a drinker but he indulged himself in a few free drinks, it was the least he could do to not kill the mood.

There was another reason why he stuck around, his favorite waitress was there that night. She was beautiful, almond skin, chestnut hair and emerald eyes. Thellos loved the way that she strutted through the bar serving drinks. She was actually the reason why he had started going to the bar in the first place. He had met her at the gym and followed her to the bar one night intending to buy her a drink, only to find out she worked there. They went out on a couple of dates and while they enjoyed eachothers company, it never got to be a serious relationship.

Thellos had just begun his fifth drink when he heard the last call for alcohol. Figuring that now would be a good time to start headed home, he downed half of his drink and headed towards the dor. Grabbing for his umbrella from the many that were left at the door he headed out to his car reaching into his pocket for his keys.

Thellos was halfway across the parking lot when he heard Melody, the waitress and good friend, call out to him.

"You took my umbrella by mistake" I did? He thought to himself as he took a closer look at it. Their umbrellas were very similar since they bought them from the same store on their first date, the only difference was in the handles it had her name etched into it. "Sorry about that" he said with a smile as they traded umbrellas. "you look really good tonight" he continued, his inibitions lost with the aid of the alcohol. "Thank you" She replied as she ballanced on the balls of her feet, a sign that she was in a good mood. A perfect chance to try and advance their relationship he thought.

"Would you like to come back to my place and have a little fun perhaps?" is what he thought he had said, however in his abrieviated state it sounded more like how short hand reads. Melody giggled and shook her head. "Sorry, but i have the morning shift tomorrow. Besides it wouldnt be fair to you since you wouldnt remember it anyway." She always enjoyed teasing Thellos, especially after he had been drinking. "Fair enough" is what Thellos said, but it felt like he had just had a cigerrettee put out against his chest.

Following Thellos across tha parking lot, Melody helped him into his car and gave him a kiss on the lips that curled his toes, making him forget about the pain in his chest. "Have a safe trip home" she said as she closed the car door. "Yeah you too" Thellos replied as he sat there looking through the window watching Melody's hips sway side to side as she walked eventually fading out of site in the heavy rain. Scratching the back of his head Thellos let out a groan that he missed yet another chance to be with her. Oh well theres always tomorrow he thought.

At 3:23 in the morning there is a blessed absence of most other cars on the road. The rain however was pouring just as hard as it had been in the middle of the day. Bobbing and weaving his head to the beat of the music a sudden flash of lightening and the clap of thunder sobered Thellos in an instant. The adrenaline pumping through his veins helped to remind him of some basic rules of the road. For instance he should be in the right lane and not the left! This sudden learning experiance was compounded with a set of lights coming head on.

Thellos cranked the steering wheel to the right a moment to late as the oncoming car clipped his rear bumper sending him fish tailing. Gritting his teeth, twisting his body, he swerved his car around as best he could to regain control. To no avail the car went into a free spin at 80+MPH. He was going to crash and there wasnt a thing he could do about it.

As numb as Thellos was from the alcohol he could barely feel it when his car had slammed into the railing of the bridge he was on. Nor the free fall down into the river below. If it were not for the seat belt that he had managed to put on with the help Melody this would be the end of Thellos's story.

As the car plunged into the river the seat belt broke Thellos's ribs causing him to cough up a bit of blood. Never the less, he was still alive.

Struggling to undo the belt, Thellos rolled down the driver window and water poured in at a alarming rate. Once the car was full and the water allowed he crawled out through the open window, but was not able to fight the current caused by the sinking car and was dragged into the depths along with his car.

His lungs burned, his muscles betrayed him as he sank limply into the abyss. Blacking out Thellos felt something take hold of him as though someone was draging him through the water. Thellos lost conciousness just as he broke the waters surface, there was a womens voice but he was too far gone to understand a word she said. Accepting the blackness of unconciousness he slipped away and slept without dream.

Days later...

"He's not moving." Aaron said as he nudged the body that layed at the bottom of the dried river bed. "Is he breathing, Aaron?" Erin, Aarons girlfriend, asked tugging on the strings of her hoodie.

Peeling off the kelp that had been drapped over the body Aaron was eventually able to get a good look at the persons face. Blinking a couple times Aaron was surprised to find that the person was alive.

"He's breathing, but its very faint..." he muttered to himself as Aaron picked him up carrying him across his shoulders. "What?" Erin called out. "We need to get him to a hospital! Get the car ready!"
