"this was the most embarrassing moment in my life. I'm the leader, this shouldn't affect me, but how did just get so awkward so fast, I thank Donnie for his inventions.
-Leo"
"its obvious this was coming one day, I just didn't know when, but that's the problem, you never know... good thing that he didn't put great detail.
-Donnie"
"Ever get the feeling that you want to forget something? That talk was # 2 on my list besides almost killing Leo two years ago... but that talk was horrible, believe me, I know horrible.
-Raph"
Splinter POV
"Now, we all need to have a talk my sons" splinter said.
Mikey did a double take, almost going to Donnie and hiding. He feared that this would pop up, it just wasn't right.
Raph closer his eyes, blushing horribly, he was sure that his skin shouldn't get any darker, but it did. He gagged a little at what is to come.
Leo sat there with his poker face but really he was screaming on the inside, 'this is going to go horribly' he thought.
Donnie was blushing a little, but he knew what was going to be said. Being the genius gives one a huge advantage.
Splinter coughed to get their attention "my sons, you should know that I am ok with who you choose as a mate, and you all are not blood related as well. But don't get me wrong, we will have a few ground rules" he said.
"i dont want to alarm you all, but there is one thing. You all will feel something one describes as lust, where you will feel the urge to do... intimate things, so will need donatello to soundproof every room, because I do not want to know what goes on in there, but I hope all of you choose to take things slow, but it is your choice with what you do" he said. Donnie nodded "you are allowed to show affection to each other, as long as it doesn't escalate too far. we will need to discuss with April and Casey if you are allowed to show affection around them though. Donatello, what do you have there my son?" he asked at the bag.
Donnie blinked "forgot about these!" Mikey stared at the bag "you finished them!" he yelled, receiving a slap from raph "OW!" Mikey yelled.
Donnie withdrew 5 things. All watches, 4 of the turtles color, and a grey one for splinter. "these are for going outside, and I will need to tint the windows before being able to open curtains" he said, slipping on a watch with everyone else "cool! It even tells the time!" Mikey yelled. The watches were somewhat of a complex digital watch "these things run on the crystals we found underground, don't ask me how they are, when we leveled that city, the crystal moon didn't get destroyed" he said. "the button on the top activates the camo, and remember, don't let the watch get destroyed, or you will lose the camo." he said. As they all broke up and evacuated the dining room.
Don POV
A few hours later, Donnie sat in his room, tinkering away, making a computer for himself, he had brought a few boxes of spare parts. He sighed, he would need to find a better area for a lab, maybe connect one to the tunnel in the basement.
A knock rang on the door and Donnie stopped what he was doing "come in" he said. Mikey walked in "hey don" he said, walking over and sitting on the bed, smiling. Don sook sat beside him "hey yourself. You ok?" he asked.
Mikey nodded "splinter surprised me a little, but I will always think that as very... uh...complex stuff" he said, he felt don put his hand on his leg, and he smiled "so, got a plan for soundproofing?" he asked as he leaned in to Donnie, nuzzling the turtles neck.
Donnie gave a soft Churr "well, a soundproof coating that is clear and won't warp the paint of the walls will do the trick, and it will be harmless to beds and stuff, because it can be peeled" he said.
Mikey looked at him "after April pops by, would you like to go to the park area?" he asked. Donnie nodded "a nice idea" he said. "now then, I think I shall go take a shower Mikey" he said, walking off after grabbing some cloths and his watch.
Raph POV
Raph was busy lifting a dumbbells when someone knocked on the door, setting the dumbbells down, he went over to the door.
Opening it, he saw Leo and went to hug and kiss the turtle. Leo rapped his arms around raph and kissed back "I don't think that will ever get old" Leo said. "April called and would be here soon." "yeah, let's see how she takes the news. Leo, I'm going to go shower, talk to you later" he said as he kissed him again and got everything to go take a shower.
When he walked up to the door, he didn't hear water, and the door was unlocked. Walking in he suddenly caught a glimpse if a naked olive turtle... well jacking off. "Donnie! Your supposed to lock the door!" he yelled, shitting the door, a deep blush escaping 'damn it! Stop blushing!!!' He thought. He had been doing that a lot lately after him and Leo for together.
Donnie POV
He had been relieving some tension after daydreaming in the shower, but being somewhat if a scatterbrain, he left the door unlocked and raph busted through, but quickly relegated after he saw the turtle.
This was going to be hard to explain to raph, hopefully raph would forget after the day ended. He was soon putting on some cloths, a purple shirt, a pair of jeans, socks, and some shoes. He grabbed his jacket and put his watch on.
Exiting the bathroom he looked around but did t find Rapheal. He sighed in relief 'that was clo...' the bathroom door shit behind him and he jumped "holy shit. He must if popped over behind me when I wasn't looking" he said.
After finding Mikey, he, Leo, and Mikey sat on the couch. Raph soon popped up, but avoided eye contact with don, who knew why.
Splinter joined the four, and soon the door opened, April, casey, and their 2 year old daughter, shadow, walked in. Shadow quickly ran to Mikey "uncle Mikey!" the kid yelled, latching herself to the turtle's leg "hey kiddo" he said. He smiled "wow, she grows up fast" Shadow giggled and let go and returned to her mother "yes, well, it's mostly my family's side that she gets that from." April said, glaring at Casey, who held up his hands "I'm still going to hurt you later. this lug started putting nonsense into shadow's head. Trying to force her into being a vigilante when she grows up" she said.
Raph laughed at that "good luck case, I'd run early" he said. Looking at the couple, he sighed "we got to discuss some things" he said, returning to his Brooklyn accent. "sure..." case looked scared now, raph could turn the accent on and off now A days, and used the Brooklyn accent, the deep rich version, when it was time to get truly serious. Other than that, it was just a normal new York Brooklyn accent.
Donnie sighed as they led the couple into the kitchen and shadow watching TV.
Splinter, the turtles, April, and Casey were alone to talk.
"ok, so guys what's the big seriousness about? The shredder back?" April asked, Leo shook his head "it's about me and my brothers... we fell in love..." he said "that's great, but with who?" April asked. Leo and raph paired up whole Mikey and Donnie paired up "each other actually"
A few silent moments later April sighed in relief "I was worried over nothing" she said "I hope that you each bring joy to each other. You all deserve happiness after everything you've been through" she said. Casey was just lost "wait... I don't understand..." raph sighed "lughead" he said as he face-palmed. April whispered in his ear and he put 2+2 together, literally. "OOOH" he said and whistled "awkward, but not the weirdest thing" he said.
Donnie nodded "and there is the question, are you two ok with this?" both nodded "you know, my cousin is bisexual, and an old friend of mine was a yaoi fan" she said sheepishly. Donnie blinked "wow... that's kinda weird" he said as the others laughed.
After the talk everyone went into the living room except Mikey, who was making dinner. Leo offered to help, but everyone else said no, because every kitchen appliance Leo touched would break or combust, Mikey made a laser eye joke, about destroying appliances by just looking at it wrong.
Everyone was enjoying a movie while Mikey cooked, talking about old times and hard to kill habits. It was a normal day of there ever was one. Raph and Leo were cuddling up to one another, raph's arm on Leo's shoulder, while Leo's head was on the red turtles shoulder and his arm wrapped around raph's waist. I very cute image to anyone paying attention. Casey and April were doing the same while Donnie had pulled up a chair to watch the movie.
After Mikey had finished they piled up into the dining room and all say down, splinter looked like he had something important to say, so did April, who left in the middle of the movie after a talk with don and just got back. It was making the turtles a little nervous.
April was first "you guys remember winters?" she asked. Breaths stopped and everyone ga e a sharp nod "well after all this time, the company put their bearings straight, and have proclaimed winters dead, meaning his will was read yesterday...he left everything to me... money, company, everything" she said a little nervously "we only learned in the end that he was a little good, trying to lift the curse, but went about it wrong..." she said, the others remained silent and shocked.
She sighed "I'm a Rich woman now it seems, but I'm going to be using the money wisely." she pulled out 5 wallets and passed them around "it's a good amount, and during the movie don told me about his newest invention, so I cooked up some wallets for you guys" she said. "and I guess splinter has something to say" she said, sitting down while the turtles continued to thank her and Casey.
Splinter coughed and got everyone's attention "ok then my sons, it is time we discussed the topic of my final lesson to you all" he said. The looks the four gave were one of shock and fear "last lesson? Master splinter, what are you saying?" raph asked, in an unusual voice that had sadness and horror in it.
Splinter sighed "my sons, you are soon to be hitting 20 years of age this Halloween, it is time that I finish your training from me, then I will have to step down and let Leonardo take over, I will still be around to give advice, and guidance if you need it. But each of you has proven that you aren't weak. You have proven yourselves close to mastery, it is time that you all live life and be ninjas, so my final lesson is on your birthdays" splinter said.
Mikey was crying a little as he got out of his chair and charged master splinter "michelangelo, I'm not going to be leaving you all... unless I have a trip planned, but you must understand that it's time for this old rat to finally rest. 20 years and you've all grown up to be fine ninja. Michelangelo, you make everyone happy, even if you yourself are not. Hiding your true feelings under that joyous face. Do not worry" he said patting Mikey's head.
Soon the shock had faded and everyone began eating, Leo's hands were shaking as he continued to process the info he revived not even half an hour ago. It scared him, horribly , but he maintained his "face" to not cause alarm 'what if's' started to flood his mind. What If he couldn't lead, what If he messed up, what if he could keep everyone together till the end.
Donnie sighed, thinking about an AU he was sent to by ultimate Draco. He knew what that future held, but not this future. He had never told them about the world he dubbed "the future that never was" he ate as he thought about how his plan killed the alternate turtles. This was a different universe, sure, but it was still an unknown.
Raph grumbled as he moped as he ate, he didn't know how splinter just being a father would work, no more "master" had to be used, it just felt awkward and a recipe for sorrow. He quickly finished and washed out his plate, sticking it in the dishwasher for later. He went to his room and closed the door, the click of the lock was heard.
Mikey was the second to finish, copying raph and sat at the couch, turning on the tv. He smiled as he settled onto an anime of some sort, sighing contentedly, he tried to forget his troubles.
Donnie finished third and cleaned his plate like the other two, he went and joined Mikey, pulling the turtle into an embrace as they watched. He soon had thoughts about what the week would hold, they would need to practice their human camouflage, and decide how to use it.
Leo did the same to his plate and went to raph's room and knocked in the door, something bothered raph, he wanted to know what. The door clicked open and he walked inside. The door closed as they both sat on raph's bed.
Leo POV
"you ok raph?" Leo asked and raph put a hand to his face and shook his head "honestly Leo, no, no in not." talking had gotten easier since the battle to save Leo after the stone generals got Leo 2 years ago. It was a slow thing, but now it helped. "splinter... just a father... I don't know what to think about that one... would it work, would it be hard? Would it tear us apa..." a slap stopped him "raph, stop. No 'what if's' ok? It's going to be fine, I made a promise I'm willing to keep. No one is tearing apart things. Not when I gave an added purpose to fight for. You... my mate" he said, finding himself blushing, had he really said that?
Raph just stared at Leo, he laid down "fine, no more negative shit, I get it. Now then, lay with me" he said. Leo blinked but smiled, happy to oblige. He went to lie down, raph embraced him with a passion. Their they laid for who knows how long before they drifted to sleep, tomorrow being the day they go exploring in the city.
Donnie POV.
Donnie had finished getting ready to go on a "date" with Mikey. He had taken a shower and changed. A short sleeved tee and some jeans. It felt weird to him but he sighed. "I hope it works..." he pressed the button, and it flashed, his skin and all looked as of it changed. Skin lightened to a light tan, three fingers shaped onto 5. His Shell looked as if it sunk in and disappeared. Face reformed and hair fell, it was shoulder length and thin, but the weirdest part was, it was purple "bug in the software no doubt" he huffed. He looked good, he couldn't believe it worked though, he had started looking at himself. The hologram wasn't just visual though. It affected touch as well. He frowned and looked into a mirror "wow..." he was at a loss of words. He walked out of the room, and stopped. April saw him and blinked. If it wasn't for the mask he still wore, she would have freaked. "Donnie? Did you accidently turn yourself human in a failed experiment?" Donnie chuckled and explained it to her.
She nodded after he finished "that's... interesting." she said. Donnie smiled and soon Mikey came out of his room. Dressed in the same type of cloths, a tee and jeans, he was also in his guise. His baby blue eyes shone brightly as light brown curly hair was on his head. He looked cute to don. "hey Mikey, ready to go?" he asked. The jokester nodded, walked beside him as they left out. Donnie was glad that he had an extendable metal Bo staff in a bag he decided to bring with him. Mikey had his nun chucks hidden at his sides with a slightly large tee-shirt. They waved to April as they headed off.
Mikey's POV
They had reached the door and stepped out, the air was cool and they closed the door, heading off. The streets of new York at night were rarely as bad as the day. If it was late enough, it was almost non existent.
The night was late enough as they headed to central park. Mikey wanted nothing more to spend time with Donnie, and vise versa for the smart turtle.
Upon arriving, they both sat on a park bench and held each other close. A fine day it had been. Awkward at first, now it was better. Mikey leaned in and kissed Donnie, they stayed like that for some time, smiling as they ended the kiss, they sat their for some time before returning to the house, locking it and heading to bed.
The next day-
Raph POV.
Raph awoke early for a change, he felt Leo still in his arms and let out a smile. He could get used to walking up early with Leo in his arms. He sighed as he thought about the day, first time to go out in the open, no more hiding, no more solitude. He loved being a turtle, but now he could also be someone normal. He felt Leo stir awake under him and smiled again. It surprised him, but this could be an improvement.
"wake up fearless, it's a new day, and it's ours" he said. Leo turned and looked shocked "your... smiling raph" he said. Raph laughed "for now, don't get your hopes up" he said. Leo nodded "I guess if that's the case, I should enjoy it while I can, raphie" he kissed raph, and stood. It wasn't entirely a magical moment, but it was a good substitute.
The two soon were getting things ready, showers we're taken, and clothing changed. They walked out of the room with their gear and headed to the basement.
A fine day indeed. Everything had gone perfectly, no fighting, everyone got along better, raph and Leo bickered a little, but no large fight. April had left early in the morning with Casey and Shadow. Splinter was watching his soaps, and the atmosphere was clear. Raph was content even if it lasted only the day.
