Melita swung her tail at the knight, narrowly missing his head as he dived to the ground. The knight wore simple leather armor instead of what the usual knights wore. He was too quick for her, she being used to fighting the slow lumbering warriors in their heavy metal shells. "Stop moving around so I can kill you human!" Her tail swung around at him again and he ducked under it.

"You'll never kill me hell spawn!" He raised his sword into the air and charged at the dragoness, yelling as loud as he could. Melita turned around to face him head-on. As the knight neared her he swung his sword at her legs, the only part of her large body he could reach. Melita stood in a hind foot rise, her front paws in the air. She roared as she came back down on the knight, pinning him with her right paw. The sword fell from the knights hand and into the dirt. "Argh! Damn you beast!" He tried desperately to reach his weapon, but it was now out of reach. "Just finish it, demon," he spat at her.

Melita cocked her head to the side. "Very well, pig. But your death will not be a quick one." The knight flinched back as she lowered her head directly over his. "Trust me..." she hissed, "it will be painful." In her mind she truly did not want to kill this knight, but he had provoked her, and he would never settle for just leaving. And besides... she though as her stomach rumbled, I'm hungry. She snaked her forked tongue from her mouth and licked the knights face. He closed his eyes and began to shake in fear as she rapped her tong around his body as she lifted her paw off of him.

The dirty leather tasted awful, so she was going to make quick work of him. She jerked him up off the ground with her tong and opened her mouth wide as he was slung up into the air and released from her grasp. He flew up several feet, stopped for one, two, nearly three seconds before he fell back down and was caught in the awaiting maw. As his body passed completely within her mouth she closed it and maneuvered him to the back of her throat and swallowed. His legs and feet were drug into her throat up to the knees. The knight cried out as he felt himself being jerked downward by the quick swallow. He tried desperately to grab onto something, but everything was covered in slimy drool. Melita lifted her head up and swallowed again, dragging him down up to his solar plexus. She licked over his face and chest to lubricate it so he would go down easier. She swallowed one last time and he was sent down her long throat to the awaiting stomach.

There was a noticeable bulge as the knight traveled down her throat. She coughed a little at the taste he left in her mouth. These slayers always taste like feted meat. She turned around and went to a nearby stream to get a drink. When she got to the bank she sat down on her haunches and looked at her reflection in the water. She could see the red scales on her muzzle, the two horns on the top of her head, and the long thin scar that ran down the side of her head, from the tip of her right horn, to the bottom of her jaw. She placed a paw on the whitened scar, remembering the dragon who left it. She shook her head and lowered it down to the water.

Her eyes shut tight and she bunched together as a terrible pain came from her stomach. She could feel the knight moving around inside her, stabbing her with a knife that he'd must have had concealed. She tried to hold him in until he passed out from the lack of oxygen, be she could see no end coming before he caused too much damage. She couldn't take the pain anymore and her stomach lurched. She felt the knight quickly travel back up the way he came and he fell from her mouth, landing in the water with a good amount of bile and blood. She moved away from him to a different part of the stream and stuck her muzzle into the water, drinking in deep, draining droughts.

The knight coughed and sputtered as he came to the surface of the stream with the knife still in his hand. He swam to the bank and climbed onto it and lay down, panting. His eyes closed as he slipped into near unconsciousness.

Melita coughed again, more blood coming from her mouth and dripping down her chin into the river. She collapsed next to the shore, her head half way in the water and her legs out to the side. Her wings fell loosely around her as she fell unconscious. A few moments later the knight fell unconscious as well.

The knight woke with a start. He kept his eyes shut, trying to remember the horrible nightmare he'd just awoken from. "Lord... That was..." His eyes snapped open. He saw the big red dragoness laying next to the stream just a few meters away. He called out in surprise and put his hand over his mouth to quiet himself. But too late, the giant beast was waking up. The knight sat up and scurried away backwards on his bottom as her eyes fluttered open. She lifted her head up and got up off of the ground.

She shut her eyes tight in pain as she put a paw on her stomach. "Gah. What...?" Her eyes opened and she looked right at the knight. "Now I remember..." she growled. The knight got to his feet and turned to run away, but before he could even take a step Melita pounced him and picked him up in her paw and brought him up to her face. The knight flinched back and put his hands over his face, dropping the knife. She moved her head closer to him and sniffed the air. She could smell his fear on him. She could here his whimpering and muttered please for mercy. "Hmpf." She dropped him to the ground in a cloud of dust. "You don't deserve death, knight." She turned herself around and walked away from the sniveling form of the human and walked along the stream.

The knights eyes opened and he watched the dragoness walking away. He sat up on his bottom and looked around the small area they had been fighting in. The dirt was rather churned up and there were a few knocked over trees from where her tail had struck them. He stood up and went over to his sword and picked it up. "I can't go back to the castle without a trophy... I'll be the laughing stock of the entire court." He turned his head and looked at the retreating dragoness. I have no choice. I kill that dragon or I don't go home at all. He tightened his grip on his sword and ran after her as quietly as he could.

Melita slowed a little when she heard the knight approaching behind her. She let out an audible sigh as he got closer and closer. She slowed down again to a near crawl. The knight yelled out as he charged her once more. Melita stopped and swung her tail, striking him in the and sending him flying into a nearby tree. He bounced off and fell to the ground in a slump. His eyes opened halfway and he could see the ground. One great red paw stepped into his field of vision. He lifted his head as the paw lifted and grabbed him, then picked him up off the ground. Another paw was placed on his back as claws extended and pulled on the leather clothing he was wearing. He closed his eyes as the soft leather ripped and his shirt was pulled off, then the same thing was done with his pants and belt. She's making sure I don't have any more weapons before she... The knight couldn't stand thinking the last few words. His boots were pulled off and they too fell to the ground. He was lifted up again and he felt himself placed in her hot, humid mouth. Her tong moved him to the back of her throat again and she swallowed. His entire body was pulled into her throat as the muscles pulled on him, forcing him downwards. His entire body was massaged and rubbed and pushed on. It might have been a pleasurable experience for him if it wasn't for the fact that this message was sending him to his doom. His head encountered a ring of muscle that opened up for him and he pushed into the stomach once again, never to escape.

The red dragoness burped as she felt him enter her stomach. She turned away from the streambed and headed into the woods to find a place to rest. She found a fallen tree with some upturned roots and a slight depression large enough for her to lay in. She curled up into a ball as she lay down and curled her tail around her body and rested her head on it. She still felt bad about eating the knight. She never wanted to kill anyone, but she wasn't going to let him run off and find a smaller dragon to kill. Tentatively she reached out to his mind with hers. His body was already badly burned, and he was almost unconscious from the lack of oxygen. She could hear his crying, his pleas to be released. It broke her heart. But there was no way he could be healed. And even if she could heal him, he'd be scarred for life. There was one thing she could do though. As his body began to die and he finally slipped away into deep sleep, she drew his spirit away from his body and into herself. She concentrated his energies into her mind, so he would be able to use all of her senses, but would not be able to control her body.

She did her best to keep his spirit asleep until his body was gone. Even though his body was now technically dead, she would not be able to hold his spirit if he wanted to go back into it, where he would die and she would not be able to recall him. Melita silently cursed as she felt him awaken. She felt him first become confused at his surroundings, then angry that she had not let him simply die and move on. Then she could not tell what he was feeling, his mind a mix of thoughts and emotions. He finally calmed enough to ask, "What did you do to me?"

"I have given you a new chance at life. A chance to be reborn into the world." She could since disbelief and confusion coming from him, and she could understand that. The dragon sent the former man calm and peaceful images, slowly lulling his spirit off to "sleep" once more. She too began to drift off to the living death, until finally her mind quieted and she too, fell asleep.
