Freedom

I have to be Honest, I was truly sad about the Human and Anthro races destruction. Although, I was happy. Happy to feel free again, happy to be able to live no longer in fear. I sat happily with the royals with a smile on my face as we finished lunch. Somehow it tasted even better than before. The princess's seemed to be confused at my happiness. After lunch was over, the princesses took me to show me where I could stay for the time being. The room was in the west wing of the castle, across from Luna's room, which could be seen through the window to the next tower. They assigned a servant pony by the name of Winter Breeze to be my aid when needed. I gave her a smile and shook her hoof and introduced myself. After the introductions the princess's gave me some free time, and told me that I should stay in the castle area until they announced my arrival to the nation, to avoid panic of a 'new creature' I had no reason to complain. Everything seemed to be at peace for the first time in a long time.

I sat in the window seal of my room, with a leg hanging down out the outside of the window and the other bent down pushing to the center of the window with my arm casually resting on my knee. I could hear the birds singing and feel the soft breeze in my hair. I took a deep breath and smelled only fresh, clean air. I chuckled and smiled again. "I don't think I have ever smelled and breathed air as fresh as this. Back then. The air was intoxicated with industrial use, and only a few places still remained almost pure. I looked across the way to see that Luna was in her room. She looked out her window so I decided to wave over to her. She gave a smile and waved back to me.

Deciding to give her a visit, and to play around with her a little, I leaned out, pretending to be excitedly waving to her when I 'slipped' and fell out the window. I heard her gasp, and then yell my name as I plummeted to the ground below. Getting into a more slip streamed stance, I fell faster towards the ground, my wings closed to my back. I saw a server pony walking with a basket of flowers below me and I chuckled and formulated a plan in my head. Finally just above the ground, I opened my wings; catching air and using my tail I turned myself level with the ground. Zooming right past the pony carrying the basket, I took a single flower from the bouquet before aiming myself skyward to Luna's window. I flew up just next to the castle towers wall so she could not see me. Just before the edge of the window seal to her room, I closed my wings and slowed myself bfire i darted up over the edge, gravity causing me to stop midair in front of the window, showing a very surprised princess Luna staring at me in awe. "Why hello my' dear Princess Luna."

Floating just in front of the window I smiled to the princess, giving a soft bow while extending my arm with the flower to her. "For you, my' dear princess." Her cheeks blushed red slightly as she took the flower, "why, I thank thou' Sanrose." "No princess... I must thank you. For allowing me to stay here and caring for me while I was wounded. It means so much to me. I must know, how may I repay you for yours and Celestia's Kindness to me?" I asked her, now floating to the side of the window. I looked down and noticed the young mare that I took the flower from seemed utterly confused as she couldn't find me. I chuckled and looked back towards Luna and she too became curious.

"I scared a mare below is all." She had a look of 'ahh okay' on her face as she gave a soft giggle seeing the mare below. Luna then looked to me and then to the flower and smiled softly, shaking her head. "My dear friend Sanrose, thou have no reason to thank us, we art' grateful to help thou in thy time of need." She replied. I looked downward, holding my chin with a claw in thought. "well then my' dear I will just have to find another way to thank you then eh?" I said with a soft chuckle "But Sanrose, thou has-" she started before I placed a claw on her lips to stop her. "No no dear Luna, I insist. I will find a way to repay you."

I saw her blush a little and nod softly. I smiled and floated back away from the window. "Well I do not wish to keep you from your duties, I shall return to the room you lent me." I said giving a soft wave. "Oh! Um, Sanrose?" I heard and stopped to look back towards her, "I was also curious if thou would like'th to join us for dinner tonight. Our dear friend Apple Jack will be cooking the meal. She and her friends are thy ponies whom found and brought thou here." I Nodded and looked to her eyes, "Of course my' dear, I shall be there."

I watched her smile and nod before I nodded back. "Then I shall see thou there." "Indeed. You shall." Backing away, I gave a salute before I again folded my wings and let myself fall. Hearing her gasp at my decision, I chuckled and closed my eyes to let myself fall freely, after a few seconds I opened my eyes and opened, as my wings, catching the wind. I formed my wings to I began to twist in the air while I pulled up with a joyous yell.

I was so happy. Why would I be sad? I was free from my old life. After finally slowing down on the approach to my window, I smiled and softly stepped in through the window. I turned to see Luna still watching me. I gave a soft wave with a smile towards her. She smiled sheepishly and waved back, with her hoof to her mouth like she was giggling. I turned back with a smile and sat back into the window seal, closing my eyes and breathing softly. 'So much peace and freedom. I am going to love it here.' I relaxed and sighed happily before falling into a light slumber, napping at the window edge.
