The sun shone through the curtains as the light woke up the sleeping two-tailed fox from his dream he groaned a little feeling the sun on his face. "Morning already...I was having the best dream ever." Tails said tiredly there was a knock on the door signalling some one was there.
"Tails you up yet?" asked a muffled voice and with that Tails got up an answered his bedroom door.
"Morning Sonic What time is it please?" Tails asked softly.
"It's around 10:30am." Tails went wide eyed an began rushing around like a mad man
"Crap I am so late!" Tails said as he was roughly pulling up a pair of black baggy jeans Sonic just chuckled.
"Calm down dude I phoned school and told them you wouldn't be in today." Sonic said calmly and Tails stopped rushing and looked rather confused.
"Why I mean it's not that I'm not grateful but why?" Tails asked and sat on his bed across from his mirror.
"Well truth is I feel bad for leaving you and Nails alone all the time so I thought I'd make up with a trip to the fair." Sonic said kindly Tails smiled softly
"Now lets go wake your brother up" Sonic said grinning evilly and headed to the room across from the one he was in leaving Tails to ponder in his thoughts.
Then Sonic knocked on Nails's door
"Nails you up yet?" he asked from outside the door from with in the room small noises could be heard an a small crash
"Ow dam crap where is it...aha!" came from with in the room
"Language bro" Sonic warned "Are you ok in there?" he asked this time
"Yes I'm fine I'll be down in a minute." called Nails from within the room and listened for Sonic going down the stairs.
"Phew." said the kit as he looked himself in the mirror he had orange yellow fur cyan blue eyes a white furred chest an belly an a white tip on his two tails he was wearing a black shirt with matching black baggy jeans with a chain hanging on the side of them he styled his head fur the way he licked with the fringe sticking up he made one last check then headed down stairs making sure he looked presentable.
His twin brother Tails was pretty much the same as Nails only difference was Tails had green stripes running on his shirt.
He noticed this when he entered the kitchen taking a seat on a near by stool.
"So what's with the bandage bro?" asked Tails sitting across from his twin noticing a bandage on Nails's arm.
"Oh this thing nothing It's just a new trend at school" he lied he didn't like lying to Tails or Sonic. Knowing if the truth was known he'd be in trouble.
"A new trend my tails you been cutting your self haven't you?" Nails was wide eyed thinking' Crud he knows..."
"Urm err n-n-no I haven't I'm not that stupid." Nails replied not making eye contact knowing that his eyes gave him away and Sonic had stop what he was doing when he heard the words "cutting self."
Tails rolled his eyes and went up to him as well as Sonic going behind him putting his hands on the kit's shoulder. As Tails pulled off the bandage revelling badly deep cuts the kit just looked away ashamed making Sonic sigh an hold a hand on his head.
"Why Nails why did you do this to your self?" asked a concerned and worried Sonic going full parent on him.
"I-I-I can't say...." the young fox said quietly Sonic sighed again.
"Well I'm very disappointed in you your better than this Nails but at least you had the guts to try and explain" said the older hedgehog kindly. Nails smiled a little wrapping his arm back up pouring himself some Cheerio's.
Shortly after breakfast Tails was sitting next to Sonic in the car as Nails sat in the back seat with his MP3 player listening to My Chemical Romance's Helena as they drove to the Fair ground.
"Earth to Nails we're here" said Sonic taking the kit's headphones out when they arrived at the fair ground and Nails just rolled his eyes at Tails who was chuckling.
"So what rides are we going on?" asked Nails leaving his MP3 player in the car and hearing the locks click.
"Oh I don't know maybe the bumper cars but one thing for definite you're coming on the big wheel with me." Sonic didn't say anything to this he was just glad that they were getting on so well.
"Yo Sonic what rides you going to go on?" asked Tails who was hugging his tails to him as they walked he cherished his two tails.
"I don't know." he replied and after a few rides the twin tailed foxes found them selves in a cart on the big wheel.
"So you going to tell me why you cut your self?" asked Tails out of the blue earning a sigh from Nails looking out the side of the cart.
"...there is this person I like...but this person keeps showing up in my dreams but it's always the same dream..." Tails nodded and motioned for his brother to continue.
"It starts out where I'm falling and the person I like jumps after me and once that person is close enough I'm pulled closer to..." Nails bit his lip thinking about his next few words carefully.
"I'm pulled closer to...him while in his arms and still falling his lips meet mine and we share a deep and passionate kiss..." Tails was thinking about what he was just told then smiled hugging Nails who had a worried look on his face scared of Tails's reaction.
"So you like another boy then...heh and I thought it was something serious."
Nails looked astonished and relieved that his brother didn't show any sign of disgust towards him.
"So...you don't mind that I like another boy?" he asked curiously and Tails chuckled to his words.
"Of course not if anything I'm going to help you get the lucky boy who you're crushing over...so who is it?" once more Nails bit his lip nervously.
"Sora from our math and gym class." Tails smiled and hugged him tightly before kissing his cheek brotherly and after the ride was over the two re-grouped with Sonic and decided to go get some food before Nails had to make a dash to the toilets "I'm going to burst!" he called back to them who was laughing and when he found the toilets he was glad no one else was there he wasn't too fond of public toilets when other people were there.
"Ahh that's much better." He said coming fro ma stall a few minutes after entering and heading towards the door when suddenly the door opened and smacked him right in the face sending him to the floor un able to see who entered the door he was too busy with his now bleeding nose.
"Oh god I'm so sorry I didn't see you the..." the person cut off from his sentence recognising who was on the floor and Nails went wide eyed recognising the owner of the voice that spoke.
"S-Sora...what are you doing here? Wait don't bother answering it was a dumb question." said Nails standing up only to be sent towards the sinks by Sora.
"Like I said I'm sorry I didn't see you there...now stay still while I sort your nose out." Sora said kindly and placed a hand on Nails's cheek while wiping the blood away with some tissue but Sora's touch alone was enough to make Nails blush.
"I-it's ok Sora you don't have to..." Nails was cut off by Sora who placed a finger on his lips making him blush even more.
"I do besides I needed to speak to you any way...oh I also have a letter for Sonic...any way I need your help Mr.Satsumei is grinding my butt because I can't work calculations fast enough...will you help me out please?" asked Sora smiling and noticing the blushing fox but didn't say anything.
"Um sure I guess but I'm not that good at them it's Tails you want for that." Nails replied and smiled that Sora had taken the time to help his nose even though he was probably desperate for the toilet.
"Well you're better than him at calculations he's best with the rest" Sora giggled out.
"True enough but I can't believe that you Sora skipped school too." He said grinning and with a raised eyebrow.
"Well I figured that if my two best friends weren't in so I might as well too." replied Sora
"Well thanks for helping my nose but I best leave you so you can do your business." Nails giggled and left the toilets before heading back to his family and told them of what happened in the toilets when they asked about his nose.
"Nails! Nails...wait up will you?" Sora shouted from a distance making Nails turn round and waited for his friend and smiled at the panting Sora.
"If it's ok with you and Sonic I was wondering if I could come over tonight?" said Sora looking from Sonic to Nails then back at Sonic.
"Only on one condition...that you stay for dinner and if it's ok with your folks the night too." Sonic said smiling.
"Oh Sonic my mom wanted to ask you something in this note." Sora said taking out a note and handed it him and after Sonic had read it he nodded to Sora.
"I'll phone your mom and tell her it's ok." Sonic said as he gave Tails a nuggie.
"So I guess I'll see you later tonight then Sora." Nails said before taking a bite from a hotdog and Sora nodded and waved them good bye before leaving and after two more rides they made their way back home.
"So Nails when you going to ask him out?" asked Tails out of the blue when they got home.
"I don't know...I'm not sure if I will...what if he doesn't like me the same way?"
"Well you'll never know unless you do something so I say you ask him out before I do it for you." Tails said smirking knowing how Nails didn't like it when he interfered with personal issues, to get him back Nails whispered
"Do that then I'll tell Sonic about summer camp last year...and how you lost your virginity to a cretin person called Ben." knowing that worked he left to go in his room to clean up a bit he figured he'd need a clean room to not seem lie a slob.
After a drooling hour that seemed to last for ever Nails came down the stairs humming when he heard the doorbell and smiled at the brunet who was looking a little lost and silly because at the time he was rocking to his music.
"yo ho and a bottle of rum." Sora jumped startled hearing his friend's voice over his music.
"Oh he Nails I've brought my books and stuff..."smiling Nails invited him inside and lead him upstairs and insides his room where Red Jumpsuit Apparatus's Face Down was playing rather loud.
"So ready...if not we could always chill for a while?" it had been a while since Sora had last been round to chill or play on the PS2.
"Nah I think we should do our work first then we can play..." for some reason there was a blush on Sora's face when he said that last word but Nails just shrugged it off.
"Ok then." he smiled taking out his calculation notes. "So we can start easy or go straight into the middle of things and get the hard ones out of the way first?" Nails asked sweetly making Sora come back to reality seemed like he had spaced out.
"Oh sorry...I was thinking...you think Riku is right for me I mean as in like is he the right one I should be dating?" he asked out of the blue.
"I don't know...sorry bro but like I said when you got with him no matter your choice I'm here for you." Nails said comfortingly.
"I know it sounds crazy but would I be wrong if I didn't feel anything for him any more...and liked some one else?" Sora asked worriedly and sat on Nails's bed.
"What of course not no...Riku might not like it but he'd have to accept that you have feelings for some one else...you want to break up with him don't you?" Nails asked feeling he knew where this was going and Sora nodded slowly and had a look in his eyes that was fighting back tears.
"Look Sora there is nothing to feel bad about you don't feel the same as when you got together and I'm sure the person you like will be the luckiest ever to have you for a mate...sorry I mean boyfriend...I keep forgetting your not used to the term 'mate'." Nails said softly, it was only recently that Anthro's and Humans were aloud to go to the same school hand have equal rights but for a Human to date an Anthro it was considered as a 'taboo, wrong, looked down at for mixing the species.
"It's ok..." Sora smiled faintly and started stroking Nails's two tails. "Mmm I don't know why but I love the feel of your tails heh heck I like the feel of your fur." Hearing that made Nails blush which didn't go unnoticed Sora just giggled and continued stroking his tails.
"T-thanks...and you always know how to make me smile even when I...never mind it's not important." He was about told Sora about his self harming.
"No go on tell me...it's important to me." Sora urged him to continue Nails didn't talk he sighed looking away ashamed and took off his bandage to show Sora his cuts, which made Sora go wide eyed in shock at his best friend who he had known for many years even before the Anthro right scheme was hurting himself like some in secure idiot.
"W-w-what did you do to yourself!!" he practically shouted at the two tailed Kit.
"I-I I...I don't know...I was confused." Nails tried explaining without having to tell his feelings for Sora.
"You could have come to me you know much I care for you your like my brother!" Sora replied looking at him with a mix of shocked and angry expression before pulling him into a tight and warm hug that was the type that said 'tell me why or we're finished'.
Nails sighed and looked at the floor while saying this.
"I did it because of a set of dreams I'm having...it's always the same one too." Nails told him about the dreams he keeps having before coming to an end.
" What I'm trying to say Sora is...I love you...I love you so much it's driving me insane I know you couldn't like me the same way I mean I'm a fox with two tails talk about freak expre-." He was cut off by Sora slapping him.
"Don't ever say that! You're not I repeat NOT a freak and you saying I couldn't like you the same way is like saying I care about that stupid taboo thing if I did would I do this?" Sora asked before pushing Nails back on the bed to lay him down before Sora pressed his lips to the kit's making Nails blush brightly and go wide eyed before closing his eyes softly kissing back and moaning into it wrapping his arms around the other.
After a few moments the kiss broke apart the two panting softly. "Wow you know what your doing." Sora complimented and smiled softly at Nails who was still blushing.
"T-t-hanks...wait...I'm the other person you like?" he asked confused Sora just nodded and looked down at him confused when he felt something poking at his stomach, feeling what it was he blushed when he discovered it was Nails's groin and Nails was blushing in embarrassment.
"Heh heh ...sorry I-I guess I need to learn to control myself more." Sora just chuckled and rubbed his groin a little only to hear the kit murr a little the feel of Sora's hand rubbing on his groin felt heavenly to Nails.
"No you don't I need to learn how to make my cute fox murr." Sora grinned and leant down to kiss his new lover again before he was interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Nails, Sora food's ready." Said Tails from the other side of the door before going back down stairs. "So what should we say to them when we go down?" Sora asked a little nervous.
"The truth...well I mean if you want others to know about us but more importantly...what do we say to Riku?" Nails said standing up and kissed Sora before smoothing his fur out with a comb.
"Well let me worry about Riku but for now I think me and you should go down for dinner as mates I like the sound of that." Sora said softly and kissed Nails on the cheek before leading the way down with his hand in Nails's paw.
