Oddly, it had a name on it, but it seemed to cycle through my name, names of people I had Copycat cards for, and other seemingly random names before going back to my own.

«Nemi will explain another time. For now, Nemi will simply show how much power he has over his pet.»

Like all Omnivices, they are painful to install in organics. Nocti will place his younger brother's new device into a palm, then wait for orders.»

«Yes, Master.» I responded, somewhat weakly as I forced myself back onto my hands.

It was another thirty minutes before Len finally returned, holding a small metal device that looked like it was made from three black gems and a connector. He held it out to Nemi, though I took it into my hand and slowly approached Alex, hobbling slightly on three limbs. When I got to him, I could see the fear in his eyes, but I knew trying to comfort him would only make things worse.

"Alex, give Nocti your paw." I told him, barely realizing I had started speaking in third-person as well. My voice was much higher than normal, likely due to Nemi's age regression from earlier. He smiled, sitting on the floor and pulling me to him so my head was in his lap. «This is just the beginning of what Nemi wanted to teach Nocti. Nocti must learn these things, or else he'll never be able to achieve his dream.»

Soon, Nemi will be sneaking Nocti and Alex to the surface, where they will obtain more cards for their Omnivices. Most importantly, Nocti will obtain one that is absolutely necessary for his service to Nemi.»

He stopped petting me, motioning for me to stay where I was. Then, he got up and disappeared into his room. After a while, he came back and led me inside. I could see that Alex was locked into his full suit and mask, but with a mobile air scrubber strapped to his shoulders, connected to his mask via hoses. He was, of course, down on all fours, asleep.

«Nocti shattered Alex today, but only one layer. He and Nemi will work to completely break him, for his own sake.» For the first time, I heard a concerned and audible sigh from Master, though he covered it up by summoning his own suit and mask. Before continuing, he walked to the shame wall and pulled one of what I could now see was several air hoses, then lying down on his bed. «Alex was an ATK, unable to control his feral rage. He begged Mistress to save him before he hurt anyone else. Perhaps that is why Mistress really trusted Nemi with him. "Nemi. You'd better be keeping Nocti safe down there. I know what you're up to now, and I have to say, I'm quite proud of you for taking on such a task. I've temporarily put Marcus in charge of Dawnfall, so no worries there. Take all the time you need. Also, I read your report from earlier. Ceti and Auva know you're back, but they don't know Nocti's with you. They think I sent him off on an undercover mission. That said, when you get a chance, I want you to sneak him up here so I can give him something in person. Possess him and make him take your form if you have to.
