What happens when you don't like the role in life you've been placed in? A young coyote named Kalixta is about to find out.

His piercing violet-blue eyes cut through the night, the prey he had been tracking the past few hours in his sights. The winds had brought him the scent of a few distressed sentients, now seen over the hill trying to fix their broken down pickup truck in the moonlight.

A horned lizard stood guard with a shotgun, keeping watch while an avian of some sort worked under the truck with a light in his hand. He smelled a third one, this one female, but he didn't see her anywhere near the truck. Normally, this would make the half-vampire back away and seek easier prey but it had been months since he fed off of something other than a feral.

The half-vampire fox slunk over the hill, keeping himself blocked from view of the lizard with the truck. The cool desert wind blew in his favor, making the scents seem stronger to his nose and driving his blood lust higher.

The avian didn't even notice the vulpine approach the front wheel before the fox dove under the truck and bit down on its neck, his elongated fangs ripping open the bird's jugular before a gurgled cry erupted from its beak. The bird bled out in moments and the fox drank as much of the avian's blood as he dared before darting out and using the truck wheels to once again hide from the lizard.

His instincts did him well as it wasn't even a few seconds afterward that he heard the lizard cry out in anguish at the sight of his dead companion. The fox jumped on top of the truck's cab before coming down on the lizard's back and ripping open its neck, drinking as the lizard fired a shot in front of it and fell, convulsing as life left it.

He drank both bodies dry before finding a set of paw prints leading away from the truck. He followed them from a distance to the left and soon came across a female shrew hurriedly pulling her pants up as she gazed horrified in the direction of the truck. The fox quickly pounced on her from behind, pinning her into the sand. With a growl he bit down on her neck, fangs piercing flesh as he took his time with this one. She screamed the entire time, until she was too weak and collapsed as the sweet embrace of death overtook her.

The half-vampire stood over his prey, letting out a victorious cry in the night as his blood-stained fur glistened in the pale moonlight.

Kalixta's turquoise eyes stared at the campfire before her. The young coyote wore naught but the fur on her body as was customary for adult females in her tribe when they began a heat cycle. She sighed, slightly embarrassed as all the males around her gave her a lecherous leer from time to time. The embarrassment wasn't so much from the looking, but knowing that there wouldn't be anything more than that, as she was of a very low station in her tribe.

The dark tan and cream coyote's parents had both been gatherers, and in the tribe's eyes that was what she was meant to be as well. She wouldn't have had a problem with that if all the others of her generation hadn't have already paired up and claimed mateship, leaving her alone. At this point she had very few options. She could take a chance and wait for the next generation to come of age, but that held a large possibility of her ending up as unmated for life. She could hope an accident befell one of the female gatherers and take her mate, but that would be wishing ill of her kin. The final choice she saw was one of the hunters or priests taking her as a concubine and servant, which the very thought of made her shudder.

One of her friends, heavily pregnant with a litter of pups, came by and slowly sat down on the log next to Kalixta. She smiled at her, noticing her lack of attire. "I see little Kali has finally hit her heat," she said with a soft laugh.

Kalixta sighed. "Yeah, too little too late," she said with a huff. She looked over at her friend's tummy, visibly seeing it squirm from the movement of the pups inside. "How many are you expecting, Dawna?"

"Four," Dawna said with a smile. "Kino and I are going to have our paws full when they come."

Kalixta shuddered at the thought. "I've heard that the delivery for more than two is very difficult."

Dawna just shook her head. "Coyotes have been having large litters since long before we were conceived. I have full confidence in the priest who delivers them." She looked around then leaned in towards Kalixta. "I heard that the chief's oldest son is asking about you."

Kalixta blushed and brought her feet up on the log, hugging her legs for stability. "Don't even talk about something like that. You'll get us in trouble," she mumbled back to her friend.

Dawna shrugged. "Only relaying what I've heard around camp."

"Well you shouldn't be promoting such gossip!" she snapped back before standing up and turning her back on Dawna. "The hour grows late. I'm heading to bed," she said while folding her arms under her ample chest, the glow of the fire accentuating her curvy figure. She walked off without waiting for a response from Dawna.

The predatory glares of the males in the village followed her back to her tent. She gave any who made eye contact the lusty grin that most expected from a female in heat, but it was only a mask to hide her true feelings.

She sighed as she entered her tent, not really paying attention to her surroundings. "Hello." She jumped at the sound of a male greeting her. Kalixta looked up and saw the chief's oldest son sitting down on her makeshift bed.

She blushed and got down on her knees, abasing herself before him. "Hello, my chieftain heir. To what do I owe this honor?"

"It has come to my attention that you are the only member of your generation of gatherers to not have a mate," he said very casually. "It is too bad. You are in heat and those markings of yours would make pups you passed it on to very beautiful."

"The chieftain heir is too kind," she said while trying to get herself lower to the ground.

"This is not known publically in the tribe yet, but my mate is unable to bear pups." She looked back up at him, a shocked expression on her face. "We have discussed it, and we would like to bring you in as our concubine so that we may have a way to produce pups. You'd have the status of a noble in this way and would no longer need to live here with the other gatherers."

Kalixta was speechless! Her eyes were open wide and her mouth agape. After what seemed like an eternity she finally managed to find her voice. "Is my chieftain heir truly serious? He wishes to take this poor gatherer in?"

He nodded and stood up, offering her his handpaw. "Please, stand up. There will be no need for that now."

She took his handpaw in hers and stood up, fully allowing herself to look him over. He had a quiver belted to his back and a shortbow attached to it. The only article of clothing he wore was a beige loincloth that matched the color of his fur perfectly. Dyed black into his fur were the tribal symbols of the nobles. He had emerald green eyes and long raven-colored hair with crow feathers interwoven into it. Underneath his fur he was very well toned. A warrior through and through.

Kalixta wrapped her arms around his waist and pulled herself close to him, resting the side of her head against his chest and listening to his heartbeat. "This gatherer humbly accepts the will of her chieftain heir."

The chieftain heir stroked her back before sliding out of her arms. "I will go and begin the necessary preparations. I will send someone for you once things are ready." With that he smiled at her and walked out of her tent.

Kalixta watched him go, her heart pounding from nervousness and excitement of her new life. Surely the chieftain heir would treat her better as a concubine than any of the others who would take her as one.

Up high on a cliff, the half-vampire fox looked down upon the tribe's settlement. He sensed a few of the coyote's hearts beating quite fiercely. The bloodlust awakened within him again and he began to sneak his way down the cliff face and into the village.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Kalixta paced anxiously around her tent. Her world had been turned upside down in just a matter of moments! She had to admit that some part of her had reservations about basically being a puppy maker for the chieftain heir and his mate. However, she would be of noble status because of it! She would also have the knowledge that the one who would eventually take the heir's place would come from her loins.

Nagging thoughts started going through her head though. You wouldn't be mated... "So, is that really a bad thing?" The chieftain heir loves his mate, not you... "Well, maybe in time he could grow to love me." If you fall in love with someone else, you will not be able to pursue him... "Just...shut up. No more of my family will be gatherers!" Your family won't exist anymore.

The coyote collapsed to her knees as she came to that realization. She would bare pups, but they would never truly be hers. They would be raised and cared for purely by the chieftain heir and his mate once the pups no longer needed to nurse from her.

Kalixta looked at her handpaws, at the dark brown glove markings that ran nearly the entire length of her arms. She looked down at her thighs, at the edge of the dark brown stockings her fur made. Her eyes flowed up to her cream-colored belly and breasts. "My markings...they chose me because of my markings. Well, what's so fucking special about them?"

The female coyote slammed her fists into the ground as she hunched over and began to weep. Her body's desire to be mated and the shock of seeing the chieftain heir in her tent had overridden her ability to think. She cursed herself silently before saying outloud, "I don't want to be just someone's breeding tool, I want a mate!"

For a moment, it felt like the world had frozen; like it had to take a moment to consider Kalixta's words carefully before resuming. Then the world started moving again, but something in the air felt different to her. Her eyes widened, as she wondered what exactly she had done.

The half-vampire stopped just outside of the light emanating from the coyote camp. He sensed something in the air, like a beacon pulling him toward something he needed.

Down on his hand and footpaws he crept into the light. So enamored by this feeling he was having that he didn't even notice as he ripped the throats out of two coyote watchmen guarding the camp's perimeter.

They bled out behind him as he walked further into the campsite. Any coyote that got in his way, he killed on pure instinct. Males, females, and even children cried out their last breaths as he went tent to tent searching for whatever was calling out to him.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Kalixta sat down in the center of her tent, paws clamping her maw shut to keep from screaming. I hadn't meant for this to happen, she thought. I didn't want my tribe slaughtered!

The chieftain heir ran into her tent. "Good. You're still alive," he said, his voice as confident as ever. Kalixta didn't move, didn't even look up at him. "Stay here, Kalixta. I'll guard your tent. After this, it may be up to us to recreate our family." And just like that he was outside her tent again.

The chieftain heir's last words rang in her head as if a bad omen. She didn't want to be his mate by these means, but she kept her mouth clamped shut to keep from further altering her destiny.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The dog fox, covered in the gore of countless slaughtered coyotes, finally reached line of sight of the tent that had been calling out to him. Standing diligently between him and what he was searching for was a male coyote. The coyote had his shortbow drawn and already aimed at the fox.

The coyote said something the fox couldn't understand and loosed the arrow he was holding ready. The half-vampire easily dodged the missile and was on the coyote before the bow could be reloaded. The fox went for the coyote's throat rapidly, pulling more flesh away with each snap until the coyote could only utter gurgling sounds as blood frothed at his mouth and grievous neck wound.

The fox growled at the dying coyote before turning his back and slipping into the awaiting tent.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Kalixta nearly screamed in terror at the sight of the gore-covered anthro fox entering her tent. The nude male paused, looking her over as his nose twitched. The coyote swallowed deeply before releasing the death grip she had on her own maw and extended her paws out towards the strange fox she had brought upon her people. "Please," she said, her voice not able to hide the guilt and pain she felt. "Please, just make it quick."

The female coyote had barely blinked before the dog fox was upon her. The fox roughly flipped her onto her belly before grabbing her tail in his jaws, pulling her back so that her lower body was supported on her knees while her chest was on the dirty floor. Kalixta's eyes widened at the realization that she was about to be claimed by the murderer of her tribe, but she kept her maw shut so that fate wouldn't have anymore ideas for her.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The half-vampire looked over her for a moment. He wasn't entirely sure why he had positioned the female like this. Instinct however demanded that he keep going and he placed his hand paws on either side of the female's shoulders and his pelvis against her backside. His penis was slightly poking out of his sheath by this point and pressed against the heated sex of his prize.

The dog fox growled in pleasure as he began to thrust repeatedly against the coyote's virgin sex. Soon enough his member had found its way through her petals eliciting both a whimper and a moan from the female below him.

This only drove him further as he thrust faster and faster into the coyote's sex. With each thrust more of his sheath was pushed back and more of his canine anatomy was free to probe the female's womanhood. He soon heard the female cry out in pain and the air began to have a hint of the sweet scent of blood.

He moved faster and faster, more of his malehood entering the tight folds of the coyote. Harder and harder he pounded into her, the whimpering moans returning to her maw at last. The fox started having troubles getting more of his member inside of the female. He felt a bulbous part of it near the base slam into the folds of his prize. Aggravated, he began to put more strength behind his thrusts.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Kalixta by this point was groaning out in ecstasy with each of her captor's thrusts into her body. Her heat was getting the better of her as it was finally being sated. She didn't even care about the knot pounding away at her virgin sex. In fact, she pushed back to meet his thrusts and bring it inside of her.

She didn't have to wait long, as the bulbous knot forced its way inside, causing her to yelp out from the resulting tie. The fox wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her up, so she was sitting on his lap with his cock nestled deep inside her.

Her captor bit down on her shoulder and she felt a couple of pin pricks from his fangs before the fox's swollen member began to pulsate, finally shooting its seed deep within her depths.

She could feel sucking and swallowing motions coming from the fox's maw. She brought her paw up and started to gently stroke the fox's cheek and ear as best she could without breaking the male's suction.

"My name is Kalixta," she breathed out, "and I am yours no matter what price I must pay." The mated coyote's eyelids began to get droopy as she began to lose focus. Soon she was passed out in the arms of not her captor, but of the one who claimed her mateship.
