Lyra doesn't belong to me she belongs to the very talented artist TigressOfKarma. Baxley meets her and they end up getting into a little trouble.

Baxley was in his feral form running from three hunters in the forest. He was alone and terrified at what the men hunting him might do. 'Crap, what have I gotten myself into this time', thought the black and white fox. Baxley kept on running, heck, it was one of the things he was best at since his parents died. His black and white striped fur, almost like a tiger's, really made it easy to hide in the shadows of the night, but that doesn't matter now since it was daytime. Baxley jumped over logs and fallen trees, dodging bullets from the men's guns.

The fox leaped over a log into a clearing with surrounding rocks, bushes, and trees. Baxley stopped dead in his tracks, ears drooping in defeat. "Where the hell do I go", he growled. "Ha, ha, ha, now we have you", said one of the hunters. "You will make a nice rug for my home." The man raised his rifle aimed at Baxley's head and smiled. Baxley closed his eyes, before saying one last thing. "The day that I thought I would has not come yet, but if fate has other plans for me then so be it. I would rather die by the coldness of a dagger then the warmth of a bullet, but we all can't be choosers now can we; killing me won't be the worst thing that has happened to me, so go ahead pull that trigger and watch me writhe in pain if that makes you feel better."

The man was about to pull the trigger when a roar sounded and a female white tiger with sapphire stripes leaped from out of the bushes, attacking the first hunter she saw. Baxley took his opportunity while the other hunters were stunned trying to recompose themselves. He ran through the man's legs that had the rifle pointed at him. The man turned and fired at the fox but missed and shot his partner's arm. Baxley smirked and ran into the tigress making him stumble backwards. He shook his head and looked up at the tiger with a mix of fear and gratitude. The two men started to walk slowly towards the tigress and fox.

The tigress roared at them and got low into a pounce stance, showing sharp teeth. The two men looked at each other then ran away. Baxley was still in shock and couldn't take his eyes off of the man's dead corpse, lying on the ground. He was taken out of his trance with a nudge from the tiger. "Are you okay", she asked, sitting down and curling her tail around her paws. Baxley nodded and looked at the tigress in more detail and noticed something he hadn't earlier. There was a crescent moon on the top of her head which he thought was pretty cool.

"My name's Lyra; what's yours", asked the tigress. "My name is Baxley", he said bowing his head, politely. Lyra continued. "Well, this is my territory and I welcome you, but I have a question for you. Why were you being chased by those men and where is your family?" Baxley looked down for a moment then looked Lyra in the eyes. "I was being chased because I stole food from the nearby city and as for the second question; I have no family, well, my brother and sister are still alive, but no parents." Lyra looked away for a minute or so before turning back to the fox with a serious look on her face. "We have to get back to my cave, now!"

Baxley was confused. "What, why, is everything okay", asked the fox. Lyra shook her head and began to walk into the forest. "Oh, no, no, no, why are you leaving when you and your foxy friend have a date with the clan leader", said a shadowy figure lying on the branch of a tree. "We don't have a date with anyone", growled Lyra. "Oh, I'd beg to differ, when you cross the border into our territory me and my friends here have a duty to our clan", said the figure, starting to come into view while the bushes started to shake.

Baxley shifted from paw-to-paw nervously. He recognized the scent so well, now and knew he wouldn't have a warm welcome like the one he had with his old friend. Lyrab glared at the panther and his clan mates as they began to surround her and Baxley. "Well, I've already met a panther so I'm alright for the day", said the fox, wrapping his bushy tail around himself. "But, you haven't met us before cub", said the panther. "Banthan just let us be and we promise we won't see each other again", said Lyra to the panther. Banthan turned to the tigress. "I think not; you know the consequences for crossing over the border!"

Baxley glanced around himself and then made a break for it. "Get that fox", ordered Banthan. A panther lunged at Baxley, nicking the fox in the leg with its claws. The fox smiled and kept running. Lyra took the distraction and ran in the opposite direction, bowling over a panther who made an attempt to stop her. Baxley glanced back at Lyra's direction, smiling at what he saw and ran smack dab into a panther. "Ha, gotcha pup", growled the panther as he picked Baxley up by the scruff of his neck. "Oh, Lyra, I think your little fox friend needs help", chuckled Banthan.

The tigress looked around and saw Baxley, still in the jaws of the panther. The fox had his eyes closed, trying to concentrate, his eyes opened and glowed red as he tucked and rolled trying to shake off the panther. The panther shook the fox, and then threw him against a tree. Lyra growled, but didn't take a step forward. "You come with us or he dies", ordered Banthan. Baxley slowly lifted his eyelids then closed them as he passed out. Lyra sighed and nodded. "Fine, I'll come as long as Baxley is not harmed." Banthan sniffed and smirked at the tigress. "Why do you care if he dies or not", he said as he ordered his clan mates to escort the two captives back to the camp.

Baxley woke up and found himself in a small clearing with bushes surrounding it. "Hello is anyone here", he asked, struggling to his paws. "Lie back down, sweetie, the leader of this clan may not have pity on us and you'll need your strength if we are to break out of here", purred a smooth, familiar voice. The fox looked around and saw nothing but shady places. "Lyra, is that you?" The tigress stepped from out of the shade, smiling. "You ask and you shall receive." Baxley smiled. "Thank you for saving me today", he said. "You shouldn't be thanking me yet", replied Lyra. "We still have to face Terrick and get out of here alive."

Baxley nodded and curled up to go back to sleep, tucking his nose under his bushy tail and closing his eyes. He was awakened by Lyra's, warm tongue rasping along his spine. "Hey, get up, Terrick is coming". The tigress continued to lick the fox until he stood up and shook himself. "Alright I'm up, I'm up", growled Baxley softly. The bushes rustled and an oddly colored panther came into view. "I am told you two were found in my territory and you, Lyra, know the consequences for crossing the border", said Terrick with a glare. "Hell, do we really have to talk about this and not about how you and I had been friends which should give me some reason to explain why I was in your territory", growled Lyra.

Baxley just laid back down and watched the two felines talk. "Fine, explain why you and this mutt were in my territory", snarled Terrick. "I'm not a mutt, cat, I'm a fox", growled Baxley, raising his head and looking at the clan leader. Terrick looked down at the black fox with piercing blue eyes. "No one asked for your input, cub", he growled. Baxley got on his paws and glared at the panther. "No one asked for your criticism; now let us go or you will regret that you ever brought me here", barked the fox. "Ha, I'll regret nothing and I'll continue to not regret when I'm watching you fight for your life against one of my warriors tonight", hissed Terrick as he padded out of the small clearing.

Baxley stood there, mouth agape, and eyes staring at where the panther left. "You should get some sleep", said Lyra, nuzzling against the fox's back. Baxley nodded and flicked his tail at the tigress, before curling up into a ball and going back to sleep. Lyra watched the fox with concern before she laid down and went to sleep as well.

"Get your tail up and come out to the main clearing to take a beating, fox", said Banthan, nudging the fox with a paw. Baxley groaned and raised his head, looking into the panther's dark green eyes with pure anger. "Okay, let's get this over with, so I can go back to sleep", barked the fox. Banthan laughed. "Yeah, you'll have a very long sleep when you're dead." Lyra woke up and let her eyes adjust before she saw Baxley and Banthan. "Oh, it's time already for the fight", she said sleepily. Banthan turned to the tigress. "Yes, it is; are you going to come watch your friend die!" Lyra growled at the panther. Baxley rushed over to Lyra's side. "Hey, hey, calm down, now I have an idea on how to get out of here", He whispered. "You can deal with this piece of scat later", Baxley said glaring at Banthan. The panther sniffed and left the clearing.

"Now, the plan is that I will fake my death and you could ask to bury me yourself. And if that doesn't work than we make a break for it", explained the fox. "I like it and then maybe we could remark the border on our way out", suggested Lyra. Baxley grinned and started to pad out into the main clearing with Lyra right behind him. The fox's ear twitched as he walked up to see who he was fighting. The panther had a chunk missing from his right ear. He had a scar down his left eye which was pure white while the other was hazel colored.

The rest of the clan made a circle where Baxley and the panther were going to fight. "Are you ready to feel pain, foxy", growled the panther, smiling. "Kitty, I've felt pain, numbness, and love; there's nothing you can do to me that I haven't felt yet", said Baxley, with a slight growl. Terrick yowled from upon a rock to get everyone's attention. When the clan was silent he spoke. "Today, we will show what happens to those who cross our border unwelcome and try to cause the clan harm in anyway", he said. "The fox, who will suffer the punishment and the tigress that will watch and have to live with it for the rest of her life. Now as I finish this I would like to say something to the fox: I hope you've been good for the moon clan to accept you into their paws when you die." And with that the clan leader flicked his tail and laid on the rock.

Baxley stared at the panther with a determined look on his face. "Are you ready for this, kitty", he growled, smiling. The panther nodded, smiling and lunged at the fox. Baxley sidestepped the attack and bit the panther's right ear. He then slid under the feline's belly, nicking his hind leg as he went. The fox then set some distance between him and the panther. "Why are so far away, foxy, come here so I can talk to you", said the panther. Lyra was slowly making her way closer to Terrick while the fighting was going on. If all hell broke loose then it would be an advantage to have the clan's leader in a bad spot.

Baxley dodged a swipe from the panther and tried running through his legs, but was head-butted and fell backwards. The panther then picked Baxley up by the scruff and threw him to the ground. The fox got up, coughing and shook his ruffled fur, smiling. "Why are you smiling, fox", asked the panther. "Because, you can't throw worth a shit", exclaimed Baxley, eyes beginning to turn red and an evil smile began to creep onto his face. "Shut up, fox", snarled the panther. "Why, is it that you don't want your clan mates to know that you cheated on your mate three times so you make up for it in giving shitty throws", continued Baxley. "Shut the hell, fox", the panther was getting angry and Baxley knew it which only made him smile.

"Isn't that what you said to those three other female panthers that you've been fucking; is this hurting your pride, kitty", barked Baxley. "That's it", growled the panther as he charged the black fox. "I'll kill you!" Baxley smiled as he ducked the lung from the panther and bit his neck, twisting his head and slamming the panther, still keeping a firm grip on the neck slowing oxygen flow to the brain, causing the panther to slip in and out of consciousness. "Do you submit", barked Baxley. The panther growled and then fell silent as he passed out.

Baxley let go of the feline's neck and looked up expectantly at Terrick. "So, can we leave, now?" Terrick just stared at the fox whose eyes were beginning to turn back to their emerald green. "I would take into the fact that if you choose wrongly you will receive terrible pain", continued Baxley with a smile. Terrick nodded towards the entrance to the camp and an aisle was made for Baxley and Lyra. The tigress walked over to the fox's side. "Where the hell are you going; we aint done here yet, fox", growled a voice behind them. Lyra spun around and charged the panther. She grabbed him by his scruff and threw him into the rock Terrick was on. Lyra then dragged him by his tail in circles just to humiliate him and then his mate came out of the crowd looking angry.

Lyra passed the panther to his mate, smiling. "Have fun." The tigress then walked back to the entrance where Baxley was waiting. "You ready to go", Lyra asked. Baxley nodded and they left the camp and territory, heading for the tigress' den to get some rest. "So, you got to tell me, Baxley, how'd you know about the panther's affairs", purred Lyra. Baxley smiled. "I'm half demon and what comes with being a demon is that I can look into my enemy's mind and see their deepest secrets", explained the fox. "But it's kind of new to me." Lyra nodded. "Okay, I see, so where are you going from here?"

"I might head back home and just relax or maybe travel the world some more", replied Baxley, ear twitching. "Oh, okay, I hope you have a nice life and try not to get into any more trouble okay", Lyra said, smiling. The fox smiled back and flicked the tigress with his bushy tail. "I can't make any promises, Lyra, and I hope that if we ever meet again it's in a nicer setting." Lyra giggled and licked Baxley's ear. "Goodbye, little foxy." Baxley nodded and walk off into the forest, smiling and swishing his tail.
