2 weeks into December

The weather hasn't been bad the lowest has been 50 degrees and with low money and the money I been saving for three years we had enough money for food and clothing and medicine. A week ago Jackie caught the flu and still has it every day I go to the store and come back with a different product of flu medicine and, what is worst that the money I save keeps reducing. Today was another day with whether it sprinkles a little snow but not enough to freeze in my jacket I wore since I was thirteen, it was a simple jacket you can but for five bucks at a dollar store it was black so it blended to the dark if I had trouble.

Ever since I ran away I never wore anything fashionable and I guess that's why people make fun of me or maybe they found out about my secret, Jackie couldn't told anyone cause even she doesn't know. I was walking back to building were Jackie was sneezing and barfing and such and I was just walking on the sidewalks looking down to see the cracks on the ground and peoples fancy to popular shoes, I wasn't really focusing on where I was, I was thinking about what Khile said to me a few weeks ago,

"If you ever need anything...anything...I'm one call away." Ever since that I felt warmth in me. I thought I was just getting could but, maybe it was something else...I couldn't put my finger on it, I heard a loud beeping sound and I look up and to turn to my left to wear the sound was coming from I see I large black pickup truck coming right towards me I froze right then, I saw images of my sister and me the good times we had and then surprisingly Khile was in the flash too, why? I felt a paw grab the back of my shirt and pull me back and, I feel backwards on the ground and a few inches away I saw the truck pass me I was still shocked by the fact that I almost died and someone saved my ass. Then I heard the person's voice. "Are you ok?" that voice I remember it, it was Khile. I turn around and saw him he was very different he wasn't in his officer's uniform but he was in his officer's jacket and a plain red v t-shirt, kind of thinking of it ever since he known about us everywhere I went me notice that Khile was there.

I got myself up from the ground and now my pants had snow on them and began to melt and soak my pants. I can already feel the wind making my legs shiver and now, I'm shivering... I feel like a phone when it's vibrating when the phone rings or, you get a message. "Are you getting sick or something?" he must of notice my pharmacy bag I had in my hands and the flu medication.

"No my sis is."

"What's wrong with her?" he sounded so serious like he can help, I felt some warmth all of a sudden and it felt good I didn't even notice that my pants were being froze then I replied back to him.

"She has the flu and I'm getting her some medicine so she can get well."

"I don't think it's a good idea to give her medicine and, keep her in that building."

"And why is that?" I was starting to get a little mad about this talk, something you should know about me I have an anger issue ever since the three assholes bullied me and harassed my sister.

"She not going to get well in that building, there are holes, cracks, and broken windows the snow is going to go in and then she is going to get worst she needs warmth and the clothes she has is not going to help it. She also needs food not fast food but, hot food, like soup. And what is worst, you could catch it too and then you and your sis could die." I set my head low to see his shoes and they were just some black Nikes, looked brand new too. There were times when I'm confuse but I'm just so confuse but, out of nowhere.

"May I check on her?"

"What?"

"May I see her to see if her flu is big or small?"

I looked into his eye and he had brown eyes and every time I looked in him I felt something weird in my body and out of nowhere I spoke up "yes please." I felt stupid all a sudden like I told a person I had a crush on them in the middle of a class. He smiled at me and it was the same smile he gave me when he gave me the number and again my body felt twice as warm what was this felling Love? Care? I don't know but I'm too scared to find out. We both walk to the building to check on Jackie.

Khile drove us to the build and I decided to wait outside due to he wanted to talk to Jackie privately I guess, laid my back on the wall and just looking around. There were boxes on the sides of the building I was on and then I saw the most horrible thing ever right behind the boxes was a coyote, the same one from when I got fired thanks to him. He looked at me then stopped his tracks. "shit" I thought as he started running towards me, each time I came closer I was able to hear my heart beating, it kept getting louder and louder then stopped when the coyote was only two feet away from me.

"Hey" he said,

"I don't any trouble so fuck off." I said to him in my anger tone getting in position so if he attacked me I was prepared to give him a blow a lease. He backed away slowly and raised his hands up and started to speak again.

"Whoa easy I'm not hear to hurt yah."

"Then why are you here?" I said even angrier,

"DO you remember what happen two weeks ago?"

"Yeah you got me fire to the only source of money" I notice that his ears went flat and his tail wasn't wagging, he went digging into his pockets trying to get something I guess what came out was his wallet a black one nothing fancy about it and, started to pull out twenties out of it and handed it to me.

"What the hell?" I spoke,

"For the past two weeks I felt bad that we made you lose your job and I been trying to find you everywhere so here, I been saving this for a car but I think you need it more than I do." I looked at the twenties and started counting and there was three grand in here. Now I'm really confused.

"I can't take this...I'm sorry but I can't."

"Why?"

"Hello there is three thousand dollars in my hand, you need some money too, and I'll take three hundred but not three grand." He looked and I saw in his eyes, and I heard him pleading.

"No please take it think of it as a token of my apology, please take it...... it'll hurt me if you didn't."

Does this person care about me? It sure did sound like it but, then again he could be a good liar and stole this money and giving it to me and the police come and arrest me for the theft. But I felt warmth in me. Damn it why is this warmth happening to me.

"Fine I'll take it."

He ears and tails were signaling that he was happy of what I said to him.

"Jonathan I need to talk to you."

I turned to see Khile coming out of the entrance of the building and with a serious look on his face, I turned to look at the coyote but he was already gone, damn I didn't even know his name.

I went to Khile and looked at him. "What's up?"

"I need to take you sis home with me so she could be warm and can heal better."

"What?!" I stood back to realize what he said,

"She can't stay in this building she getting close to being permanently sick and die, but I want you to decide it's up to you."

I guess I had no choice but can I trust him enough to take my only sister to his place? If it's the only way I guess I have no choice.

"Fine take her but please don't hurt her."

"why would I hurt her? I just want her to get better that's all."

"ok I get you point just take her.. does she know about this?"

"Yes and she agree with me too."

Jackie came out and was covered by her blankets and khile took her hand and she grabbed it and started to walk to his car my tears started to show and now I'm alone till she comes back and well.

Night time

It was now in the thirties and I'm covered in multiples of blankets but at least I was staying warm, I miss my sister already and not I have two people in my mind, Khile and that coyote..whats going on with my life? I lay down and tried to sleep hopefully to get some sleep.
