An experimental series. I haven't written in so long, but I have all these ideas I want to share. I hope you like it. :)

Chapter 1: Aristotle wouldn't visit the lake a second time.

July. A lonely month. Such a pain to live in. Alistair hated the hot weather. His black and white fur getting greasy from all the sweat; his heart pounding as the heat of day selflessly murdering the young canine. Who knew a trip to the store would leave him half-dead on the boardwalk.

Alistair had a problem with his blood pressure. Getting light-headed was the first symptom of him trailing away into the fabric of space, losing consciousness. The broken eggs practically frying on the hot asphalt; the boy saw illusions of unreal buildings, the haze transforming the shapes into weird delusions fueled by hate, fear, despair; he was lying on the hot stone, panting.

All shook up. Alistair roared with fear of the unknown. The situation was out of his control, albeit genuinely more comfortable. He was sitting on the mossy hills of the Central park, the quiet songs of birds bringing the teen slowly back to reality. An itch - his butt was itching, probably from the moss. Standing up the collie noticed he was topless, his shirt nowhere to be found. Turning around nervously, he heard a familiar voice from the distance.

"Bet you don't give a fuck about them groceries.", said a lovely voice, more high-pitched than it should be for the age of its source. Evan, a 17-year old skunky boy was giggling at the sight in front of him. Alistair giving a sly smile replied "Yeah. Wh-- Whe-- Do explain, please, lad!"

Shamefully laughing at the story, the collie had ended up unconscious, and for his luck his friend had passed by, taking care of him, thus resulting in the present situation. Not a first time, Evan was aware of the chronic problem of his mate, but the compassionate child did not mind occasionally 'cooling off' the canine, the latter being a year younger, and an old esteemed friend.

"I owe you another there, Ev.". "Always a pleasure", the skunk gave Alistair a friendly hug, letting out a slight yawn.

"I am sorry I put you in this mess. It was stupid of me to go out to the store at mid day", said the collie, playing with his fingers shamefully, receiving another hug as he did. Widely smiling, the boys chuckled and switched on from topic to topic, hours passing, until the heat decreased enough for them to go on a walk alongside the lake.

"So how are things going with Liz?", the younger boy asked, kicking small stones as they walked.

"Considerably worse. I guess she just isn't my type. God, I wish that girl had a mind of her own, not a collective fucking consciousness. Three of them! Sharing opinions, problems, heck even make up! I'd have to go fuck all three for it to actually count! It's as if they're either Siamese twins, or each one of them is handicapped, and the rest compensate!", 'twas a good thing both furs had a dang good sense of humour, and fact being fact, Lizzie and Ev were braking up their modest relationship. All of that resulting in escalation of Alistair's ever so devoted attempts at showing his feeling towards his mate. Being bisexual, the collie had had numerous other relationships with girls, but none of them seemed to actually give him the feeling of secureness. Him being frail both physically and emotionally, the collie dreamed of pure love, of compassion and care, none of the wishes ever fulfilled. And yet his best friend, his faithful companion, Evan...he loved him, and was not afraid to say it, though the real, the hidden meaning never actually floated up to the surface. Not courageous enough, he wouldn't try and show his true feeling now; ever. The though burnt his mind, turning his sly chuckles into frowns, then into a bare sob.

A tear-drop. Evan saw that. Hugging his friend for what seemed to be random, he somehow knew Alistair was hiding something.

The lake is so beautiful at night...
