Date: December 11th Location: Saint Falda; Orez Delivery Company Basement Time: 6:43 pm

Time flew for the dragoons, staying away from the limelight after they made the headlines. Michael was still depressed over what had happened when he blacked out, getting the news from Aisarue who had left a few days earlier after telling him what he wanted. He had about three more weeks to make a decision, one that he wasn't sure about but honestly as his dark half mentioned, probably had no choice. Ruru had been categorizing his delivery plans and doing his job in the meantime, though disappointed that his friend was still down over Abyssion's choice. Fyre left on business of her own, feeling something that made her want to check out two days ago and Eurasia went home to avoid having his mother worry over him. Although he wanted to tell his father how she was feeling about him, he remembered that Rizan did not want to have any interaction nor to have him worry over her or Shyranrya.

She said something along the lines, "He'll come to us when he's ready. Not sooner", and did not want to cause any more tension and stress on top of last week's incident. Michael still barely ate, only having a cup of water and a ham sandwich two days ago, and only having water ever since, "Sigh...Jeff...what happened...you used to be the best brother ever. Even if we fought, you were always there when I needed you...something changed in the time where Sangre killed you and...when we met in Rizan's Dimension...What would you say to Aisarue's offer?...of re-joining bodies with him...", he wondered, his decision still pending on one of the hardest choices he'd have to make. Despite the large amount of time he had, he had too many mixed feelings about it, mostly about his personality and himself in general.

Aisarue ensured one thing, that he would not be in control of the body and assuming it wouldn't be so easy this time. It would be a mutual relationship, not a parasitic one, though if that was true or not, was the real concern. With the sun setting already, it was another day wasted doing nothing but wallow in his 100 feet of cold depression, "....huh?", he muttered, seeing his P.I.C. starting to vibrate on the small dresser beside his bed. To avoid having alot of noise, he had it set to silent, seeing the name of a familiar friend floating over the screen. It had been some time since he'd seen her last, wondering to answer or not given how unhappy he still was with himself of failing to save his brother on top of the whole event with the dragonesses, "....okay. Why not..", he thought to himself, tapping the P.I.C. on the screen to answer the call. He was greeted with a smile from his blue scaled friend Phrin, dressed in her usual brown suit with her long black hair flowing past her shoulders, "And the mighty dragoon answers. Here I thought he turned to a hermit crab!"

"Phrin. Hiya.", responded Michael, in the least depressing tone he could muster. "What's up?", he added, holding a pillow close to him which made Phrin pout a bit. It was as bad as she was told, the dragoon of fire's mental state at an all time low, "I see you're still depressed over what happened with your brother...come on. I know something that will cheer you up. And it involves food too!", she remarked, Michael merely looking down and now officially looking like he was sad. She got a call from Abu the other day and was asked to help cheer him up, who not only explained the details of what the news didn't say, but also upgraded her P.I.C. for free. Hearing that her friend was not feeling happy either wasn't something she could ignore, putting one court case on hold to deal with it.

"Cooooome on Eura. I know you're hungry. But that's not the only reason, I'm inviting you to a party with me to cheer you up. From my experience, its better to do something than nothing.", explained Phrin, Michael shaking his head, "I'm not hungry! And...I don't feel up to going to a party...", he replied, then suddenly the sound of his stomach growling made him cover his face with the pillow in embarrassment and his friend laugh, "I thought so. One second.", said Phrin, hanging up the line and making Michael peek out to see that she ended the conversation.

A bright light flashed behind him, making the dragoon turn around as it was a sign that someone had teleported to his location. To his surprise, he was pounced off the bed by the short blue dragoness, sitting on top of him with the pillow between them, "Hai. You know you can't lie to a master of detection Eura. As much of a warrior as you are...", she said with a smirk, getting off of him and helping him on his feet, "Come on, I even have a nice suit picked out for you. You really have to get out of this funk, so you can focus on the bigger picture. Remember, Abyssion isn't dead yet.", she reminded him, moving to his bed and taking a seat on it. She was 100 percent right, that his brother could still be saved, but he couldn't shake off that feeling of failure on top of the choices that he would have to make in the coming weeks.

After about a minute of thinking, he gave in and nodded, making Phrin squeal in delight, "Great! I knew you'd come through. Just one thing before we go...take a quick shower. I'll gladly help you if you want.", she said in a teasing tone, making the dragoon jump and run towards the bathroom, "N-No thanks! I won't be too long!", he yelped, grabbing a red towel that was hanging on one of the shelves. Phrin thought his reaction was far too cute, the big bad dragoon warrior who was described as a monster in the papers was really just a softie who was shy.

Unfornately she saw merely through that conversation on how much of a wreck he was, even smelling that he hadn't done much movement in the past few days. This was a good chance for her to repay him for what he did those years ago, still looking back on what she left behind and was damn happy to, "Eura...watch. You won't regret tonight...I'll help you learn how to "focus"....", she thought to herself, having a seat on his bed and taking her P.I.C. to open up a file and a holographic keyboard to get some work done while she waited.

Date: December 11th Location: Saint Falda; Tomodachi Estate Time: 7:24 pm

After a nice refreshing shower, Phrin helped the dragoon pick out a nice suit for the party she planned on taking him. It was a standard blue two piece suit for Lawyers, but it worked in all occasions where formal wear was required. To hide his dragoon spirit, she gave him a pair of white gloves, the symbol of her office adorned over where his dragoon spirit would be, in order to attract less attention. The short blue dragoness tugged the Michael by the arm, bringing him to the east end of Saint Falda to what seemed to be a factory. It was a cloudy night so the street lamps were all turned on, reflecting on the metal wall of a very clean looking factory. Such a cleanly building stood out from the rest of the gritty town, looking like it was polished just today, "Huh...Phrin, why are we here? You mentioned a party but...this is a factory. Don't think i've ever heard of the Tomodachi brand either.", asked Michael, the two turning a corner and seeing a long line of people, all dressed in formal wear.

They all seemed of the snobbish type, having monocles and a stuck up accents as they spoke of things uninteresting to a normal people like the odd pair who got stares while they walked to the front of the line. A hippo guard stood in front of a door smaller than himself, clad in a white t-shirt and black sweats while holding a clipboard worthy of his size. Michael looked up at his intimidating height, probably about 12 feet tall, who towered over Phrin's mere 4'9" and his own 6'4", "...what do we have here...a human and dragon...wait is that you Phrin?", he asked with a voice that belonged to small child, having to kneel all the way down to double check. Phrin gave the hippo a playful pat on his nose, getting scooped up by the hippo who hugged her tight.

"Phrin..thats the lawyer!", said someone, Michael not surprised that she was famous. He remember hearing that she was quite good at her job, busting the bad guys and breaking their testimonies. There was the sound of clapping, many people pleased to hear such a wonderful person would be attending the festivities this evening. Least it was good that Phrin would get the spotlight, his gelled hair and blue suit hopefully being enough to deter people from guessing who he was, "Yup its me Mugsy. I got an invite from Nakama himself. Mind letting me and my friend in?", Phrin asked cutely, pointing to the human way down on ground level. Personally he had nothing against humans, but he couldn't speak for everyone else.

"Hmmm...you know you're always welcome here. You helped bring those crooks to justice who tried to steal company secrets! Though I can't say he'll be welcome...with how high his kind is on the caste system...but what do I know. Dragons are usually trouble and are at the way bottom...no offense of course. I'm not judging your kind, just what N.D. put into place you know?", he explained, getting a nod from Phrin who knew what he meant. Humans being weak physically were protected under law from N.D., without a reason other than he felt like it. Dragons however were at the bottom, not given near to no rights, unless they contributed greatly in some way, as Phrin did over the years at her office.

Mugsy happily allowed them in, opening the door and wishing the best for the top lawyer in Saint Falda, though wondering about the red spiky haired human who looked familiar. Unfortunately he forgot to ask after shutting the door, having to focus on his job on who was on the list and who wasn't. Phrin grabbed the dragoon by his wrist once more, the empty factory looking errie but sanitary, "Okay okay! You'll pull my arm off Phrin.....what kind of party is in a factory?", asked Michael, still being like the factory about the details, in the dark. Phrin giggled while following a well drawn out system of arrows on the floor, glowing yellow arrows that were showing where to go. Within a few moments the duo arrived at a service elevator, with a neon sign reading "Party on the top floor" standing outside of it.

She pressed the button and pulled her captive human with her, seeing every other button other than the top floor unlit. She pressed it and would quickly take the time to fill in the clueless dragoon, "You worry too much Eura. This party is the celebrate 30 years of the Tomodachi brand being top on the planet once more. They make most general stuff but at high quality for lower cost to the consumers. However unlike many big shot CEOs of a multi billion kash company...Mr Tomodachi himself is a very kind Philanthropist, usually giving his money to charity and he also has the highest rate of happy employees, at 100 percent. In fact he gave them all one weeks paid vacation starting today to celebrate, setting his factory to automated for the week.", explained Phrin, the dragoon quite surprised at how generous this person was.

"Wait..if his factory can be automated, whats the point of having factory workers?", asked Michael, thinking that defeats the purpose of having an automated factory. Phrin chuckled at his question, having wondered that too until she asked, "That's actually quite interesting. Mr Tomodachi has the latest in automated equipment, but he says things made by the hands of the people, have more love in them. He said something like, "True spirit can only be passed by the hands of the people, not by machine.". However despite he is making a loss, he somehow...is the most successful businessman on the planet. Abu's business is 2nd from what I know, and a few parts from his P.I.C. are made from Tomodachi too. Special order from a joint contract between them which benefits them both.", continued Phrin, the elevator nearly reaching the top floor.

This was news to the dragoon, rubbing his chin in thought from this new information, "I see...well hes a really nice guy then? That's cool. But...will he mind you brought me along? The that hippo guard seemed a bit unhappy or worried that I'm at this party.", asked Michael, not knowing much about the caste system he mentioned earlier. Phrin was about to explain but the elevator slowed down, then came to a stop, the lights suddenly going out and making everything dark. As the duo were about to question what had happened, the doors slowly opened, a bright light and the sound of classical music filled the air, "WELCOME! Konichiwa my nakama!", shouted a deep stern voice, a yellow tiger dressed in a deep black suit, red tie and having glass of wine in one hand with dozens of well dressed people, most of which who were dogs, sheeps, cats and other various herbivores.

There was confetti falling from the ceiling, a wide white room with a fountain having the tiger immortalized in gold, as well as plenty of tables with what seemed to be endless amounts of food. Phrin jumped up and squealed in delight, the surprise making her giddy while Michael felt out of place, getting a lot looks from the snooty crowd who were dressed quite formal. The yellow tiger stood a strong 8ft 5in, "Ah, Konichiwa there. Don't believe I've had the pleasure Mr...", remarked the tiger, giving a bow to Michael who quickly straightened up and bowed in return, "Ah hello! I'm...uh...Mike. You're Mr Tomodachi?", asked the dragoon, getting a "Hai" in response.

His Japanese accent wasn't too strong but noticeable, something that Phrin found being an exotic trait about him, "You must be the protege' our local lawyer-san mentioned. I recalled her saying something along the lines of training the next generation....and by the look of your suit and gelled hair, I'd say you're nearly ready!", remarked Mr. Tomodachi, pleased to see that his favorite enforcer of the law was still going strong. He invited the both of them in and lead them towards the middle of the room, Michael looking around in awe while Phrin was happy to see that her favorite dragoon wasn't sulking anymore.

"Hehe...You did say I could bring a guest. He's..one of them, and very new to the courtroom. Phoenix mentioned that I should pass on what he taught me to as many worthy young faces as possible. Let him rest in peace.", Phrin said, patting Michael on the back. Mr. Tomodachi nodded and took a moment of silence to remember the greatest defense attorney Saint Falda ever had, "Hmmm...Phrin-sensei, you really have done his lawfirm justice with your...justice. Though since you're here, Miles-sensei is here as well with his protege. Want to meet him?", he offered, Phrin remembering meeting Miles in person once when she was a rookie.

The two squared off in court and she ended up breaking his streak of guilty verdicts. Although it was not easy and ever since she was dubbed his rival, something she could care less since the courtroom is supposed to be a place where personal feelings are meant to be kept out, "Well well. So you did show up, with another amature no less. Will he do better than Fran did?", said a voice, the party goers Oooohing in awe of the most famous prosecutor in both Saint Falda and Hydion. Confetti fell once more from seemed to be out of nowhere, Phrin scoffing at the praise he was getting for ensuring innocent people get convicted, "Yes Miles, he's with me. We're here to enjoy the party though, not to talk about the courtroom.", sighed Phrin, Michael seeing what was a reddish-brown bearded lizard who was just a little taller than him, wearing a very fancy black three piece suit and a bowler hat.

Walking with him was another human, dressed in crimson red two piece suit with a white double breasted waistcoat, but darker than Michael's bright red hair. Unlike Miles, the human lacked a prosecutor's badge on his lapel, which meant he was probably new as well, "Come on...why are we here? Not really a party guy I told you...", remarked the grey haired human, looking quite annoyed and rubbing his fingers together. Despite having gray hair, he looked like he was just over 20, one of the odd colored people like Abu with his silver hair. Miles put an arm around his human protege and pulled him to meet his rivals, "You have to learn to gauge the enemy. Now then, this is the finest new prosecutor. You probably heard of him, as he's been making headlines. Introduce yourself so they know to remember your name and face before you face off.", he ordered, getting a sigh in response.

Mr. Tomodachi was happy to see his guests being so friendly, taking a sip of his fine wine and walking off towards the other party goers to mingle as a good host should. Phrin nudged Michael with her tail, urging him to do the same and introduce himself, "Hiya. I'm..Mike. Umm...Pheonix Mike.", said the dragoon with a smile, offering his hand for a good natured handshake. Phrin told him to use that name in order to make him seem more sincere in being Phrin's guest, not understand the relevance of the name until just now. He only got a stare in return for a second, before finally getting a handshake from the other human, "It's a pleasure I'm sure. I'm Edgar but he's insisting I go by Miles Edgar. I'm not molded enough in his image, so he wants me to have his name too. Least its....refreshing to find another sapien working the grind.", whispered Edgar, quickly ending the friendly gesture and starting to walk away towards the refreshments, "I'll see you at the bar exam Mike. Don't be a loser like my mentor says you are."

Phrin chuckled at the new prosecutor's words, " Hehe....Nice to see this one isn't a log for brains like that Direk. Swear that guy...if i ever have to deal with him on yet another case...", she growled, that stupid blue beaver always getting on her nerves since the day they first met. Least lately she's been seeing less of him, which is good but she hasn't been getting good competition and its making people wonder if she was rigging the cases before hand. That was due to people being distrusting of a dragon, something that hasn't bothered her but she preferred it than how she was hated before for her size and species, "Errrm...yes he is quite intelligent. Anyway I wanted to ask you something..in private. Classified information for something that...you may want to know.", asked Miles, running a claw down his scaly fleshy beard.

Even if it was a trap, he was no threat to her, nodding and turning to Michael who seemed to be looking at a large bowl of strawberry juice laid out for guest, "Eur--errm Mike. I need to go for a bit...behave yourself. I shouldn't be too long. You will stay out of trouble right?", asked Phrin, Michael breaking out of his trance and nodding, "Of course. I'll just be...keeping a watchful eye on that juice over there...oh! I see apple too!", he said in a cheerful tone, Phrin shaking her head and amazing that this man has a bounty over 100 million kash. Though with a hug and a wave, Michael headed over to the refreshment table and saw there being over 10 tables of party food and drinks. one table had 10 large bowls of juice, each one labeled and kept cold by the patented Chilled Container, a Tomodachi product that kept any product inside at a set temperature without the need of outside influences such as ice.

The dragoon of fire grabbed a cup, a very fancy looking glass and poured himself some strawberry juice, about to take a sip before he got a tap from behind. It nearly made him spill his juice but it wasn't very strong, noticing that the ground was lightly shaking with the sound of hard footsteps. He turned and saw large scaly blonde hair woman, looking dragonic somewhat but not quite like Phrin or Shyranrya, "Oh...sorry about that.", she apologized with a frown, her tail being quite big due to her 11 ft height and chubby body structure. Michael nodded and proceeded to drink his juice, loving the flavor as it tasted so fresh and non artificial.

It was so delicious he took another and walked around the floor for about 5 minutes, getting many questions about who he was and his job. He tried to give straight answered but kept it vague yet truthful, feeling nervous to the point where he ran outside to the massive balcony with a 32 oz glass cup of apple juice. The attention made him nervous and he needed some space, breathing hard as he wasn't very good in a crowded area with strangers, "Huff...man. So many questions...why is being a human such a big deal?...", he wondered, his cup shaking as he was about to take a sip to calm himself.

Before his lips made contact with the cold glass of chill, he heard sniffling coming from the far right end of the balcony, seeing someone in the darkness being barely illuminated by the lights coming from inside. He questioned for a moment on checking it out, knowing he would hate himself if it was someone in trouble and he simply ignored it, "Umm..hello? Didn't think anyone else was out here. You okay?", he asked, walking forward slowly and getting a closer look at the person. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was the same woman who bumped him earlier, the large blonde hair green scaled dragoness, in a sparkling red dress with a white rose on her left breast, though it looked wilted. She was sobbing with tears, looking towards the moon before wiping her eyes and turning to see someone else was here with her, "Oh...um....yes I'm fine. I'm just...wanting to get some fresh air. Was...too stuffy in there...don't mind me", she quietly replied with a sniffle inbetween words.

Michael tilted his head and sipped his juice, seeing her turn away and lean back on the guardrail, "But you're crying. Did someone inside hurt you?", queried the dragoon, jumping on the guardrail and walking towards her, being eye level now as she kept her face pointed away from the human, "Its...nothing important for a lawyer like yourself. Please...can you leave me alone?", she pleaded, Michael about to do so before tapping on her shoulder, "Well...want some apple juice? It's not good to be thirsty and alone.", offered the dragoon, the dragoness raising an eye brow at this human's kind offer.

Fruit juice was one of her favorite things, being too saddened by harsh reminder she got inside to nab some, "...why are you being so nice to me? A human like you to a dragon like me. So far of a difference on the caste system. Is there something you want from me? Or expect to get out of this?", she questioned suspiciously, Michael shaking his head in response, "I really don't care what you are. You're a person, you have feelings, and that's all that matters. It isn't like me to just ignore someone feeling sad...even if you don't want anything from me, trying is the important part.", replied the dragoon, the dragoness quite surprised at the answer. His innocent but naive eyes helped her lower her guard just a bit, giving a light smile and taking the cup, which in comparison was rather small.

The dragoness gulped it down, licking her lips from the flavor as rich people could afford the best drinks, "Mmmm...thank you then.", she gratefully replied with a smile, about to give the cup back but quickling retracting it. Michael reached out but as she pulled it back, he got worried for a second, "No problem, though you don't want me to get you some more? You seem rather thirsty.", asked the dragoon, the dragoness now looking rather nervous. Last thing she wanted to do is to harm someone who was actually kind to her, "Errm...don't worry about it. I'll be fine. So young human...what's your name? A respectful gentleman like you should at least introduce yourself to a lady.", she requested, trying to change the subject away from the cup in hand, which she tossed over the side out of his view.

She had a good point, being a stranger to her was probably still making her uncomfy, "Ah..sorry about that. I'm...Mike. Phoenix Mike. Phrin Hirk's newcomer. She told me to come to his party but...she left me alone to take care of some important business. Not a fan of being surrounded by so many...people asking me questions. I had to get out of there.", explained Michael, peering over the edge, seeing the city being lit up under the moonlight, his gelled hair having a shiny look to it. Another lawyer, though this one was out of place since he seemed far too open minded to be one. Lawyers are the ones who uphold the law, and were specially fond of the caste system in and out of the courtroom.

It was refreshing to find someone with some character, giving a nod and a slight smile, "How nice. Phrin is well respected around here...I'm sure you'll learn alot from her. My name is...Nia. I was invited by Mr. Tomodachi as my...late husband was a good friend of his. Co-founder to be exact. Though I don't have any interest in appearing in parties that only end with me being questioned constantly as to why my species is here. But Phrin is doing a great job. Least she makes us look good in the public eye which is nice...it's a pleasure to meet you Mr Mike.", she replied, being respectful to the human as he was quite charming to her so far.

"Heh, if its cool with you, can you call me Mike? It makes me feel older than I am..though I've been told I look okay for a 37 year old. Rather not think of myself an old man yet.", he asked nervously, Nia looking quite surprised. She was older than him, but she was well aware of the human life cycle and how fast they progress, "T-Thirty seven? Please tell me you're joking...you're a youngin. I've known many humans, but no one who looks like they just got out of highschool right where a midlife crisis is supposed to happen. Tell me your secret so I may look ravishing in my mid point.", she joked, Michael wondering how to respond, thinking she was really curious.

He jumped up lightly, then began doing some push ups, and quickly jumping onto his feet to jog in place, "Lots of exercize and a good diet...a really good diet. I do it in my spare time. Keeps me strong and in shape for any nasty situation.", claimed Michael, being fairly honest in what he did to keep in shape. Nia was no slouch either, her job of being a bounty hunter on sinful males taxing though it wasn't something she was about to mention. She petted him on the head for being a sweetheart and smiled, glad to have some company who wasn't trying to kill her, "Good, be sure to never slouch or go down the wrong path. Women have alot to do to keep themselves up on top as well. Never let them down okay?"

For a moment he remembered the two dragoness he indeed let down, though doing his best not to let it shatter his mood. He merely nodded and smiled, looking towards the night and the bright moon out before he felt something, as if he was being watched. If it was an enemy, it was a bad idea to be near a civilian like Nia, but it was an unknown force, "EEEEE! Nia! You're here too?!", squealed someone, a very high pitched and feminine voice which made Michael turn around suddenly. Another girl came out from the party, skipping cute-like towards them and stopped right in front of the two. Nia recognized her immediately, quickly hugging her and lifting her up. She was a croc girl, in which suddenly Michael started looking quite pale.

A croc girl slightly shorter than Nia, but still taller than the dragoon, probably at about 8 feet he thought, though now wasn't a good time to comment on the glittering silver sequined dress she had on, "Umm...well it was a p-pleasure meeting you Nia. I think I h-have to get back to Ph-phrin.", nervously he said, the croc girl quickly moving from Nia and moved towards the dragoon. She gave him a smile and grabbed him by the arm, "Oh that can wait one second! If you're a good person in Nia's eyes, you're worth at least knowing better.", she said, Michael's hand shaking slightly, and sweating too.

Nia nodded, though she gave a suspicious look to her sister, "Well he is a nice guy I admit. But...why are you so interested Celqua?...You hate males last I remember.", she said, in which quickly the croc's expression turned from cute and smiling to evil and grinning, Michael about to scream before he found himself sealed in a ball of water. Nia gave a surprised yelp, nearly forgetting her expertise in water magic, "You're right...I hate males. But that's not why hes the focus of my attention sis. I'm interested because this so called human worth 300 million. Do you know what we could buy with that kind of money?", she asked, Nia seeing the human wriggle in the water and trying to get out, punching at the water's edges, in which seemed to be solid.

"300 million...wait...there's only one human with that kind of amount. You're telling me this is Eurasia? The dragoon of fire?", she questioned while wondering what to do, knowing that this human fought again N.D., and having nothing on him that would make him seem to be bad. Only the fact that he opposed the dark lord was the reason for his high bounty, his reasons behind hitting the biggest prison on the planet were probably justified. Michael felt his dragoon spirit power down, unable to even materialize his sword due to his flames being put out. He didn't even bother to bring his P.I.C. this time, so he couldn't even call for help, unable to even hear what was going on outside. This water prison seemed to be the perfect trap for him, unable to get out at all, but the fact that the croc girl brought up past fears made him unable to gather the power he needed. Unless Phrin would notice something was wrong, it seemed that he was a goner, letting his guard down and allowing his fear to take over.

to be continued....
