Chapter 1 The Beginning of Wisdom (prologue) as before, we set off to the twisted city. as i traveled i started keeping up on "modern" events. with a strange sense of deja'vou we walked to the city... Chapter 2 Unexpected Guests but little did i know Grimalkin was trailing nar'zul with the intent to kill him. but one "night" (when the grongrok sleep, daytime) i was climbing in the trees, when all of a sudden i was hanging by my foot by a rope, Alice Skelton was sitting on a log ten feet away, concealed by magic. she looks at me and her jaw drops,"Fenix, is, is that you?" "No i'm Jeffery the friendly wombat!" i said sarcasticly. "well well what we be aven ere" said ferogi. "a little baby witch" he draws his weapon then he screams and Grimalkin says out of thin air," don't mess with them or I'll kill you now." "let him go" i said and ferogi drops to the ground and hacks up blood " I'll kill y" and another scream, this time from the camp,cuts off ferogi, "Ferogi, elf where the heck are you nar'zul is dead" the voice from no where again says,"now what was the bounty on his head, hmm, lets see five hundred dead, fifty thousand alive" ferogi smiles, "well what an accomplished assassin he must be good..." Grimalkin then shows herself,"IT WAS A WOMAN! and a human woman none the less I'm impressed, maim come ere you might wanna see this..." maim walks over while Grimalkin cuts me down," holy crap a woman killed nar'zul!!!" "lets stay out of this one Alice, Oww" she punched me," thats for leaving me i cant believe you left me like that!" i cut her off by hugging her" you made it here," i hand her a bottle of water she looks at it confused " I'm not thirsty" "just drink it but save some for her" i gesture at the witch assassin. she drinks it and she sighs and she becomes more beautiful."was that the water from the fountain" "yeah" by this time Grimalkin and rend's sons are arguing over the most effective way to kill a giant fire breathing wombat typical warrior stuff. so then the obsidian guy comes over "nar'zul is not dead merely in a coma" but when he sees me and alice he says," you two remind me of myself and chandra," then he studies me more closely," father told me you would come, that you wouldn't remember, my existence is now over, i pass the memories to you." and with that he passes into the void. we stare at the disintegrating obsidian and i see his face then a memory stirs, I'm in heaven and talking to the holy platinum dragon. then its gone and i'm actually looking at the man with the birds, Ferogi and maim are speechless Grimalkin understandingly isn't and bows before Bahamet, god of the metallic dragons,"my son I've waited long to see you in person," i stare at him as if i don't think he's real. "ah yes you need your memory back I'll see what i can do," and with a snap of his fingers as some of my memory comes flooding back into me." i grant you some memory you must find the rest." i remember the good and the bad i begin to change my crown of stone grows from my head. the stone gauntlets grow from my wrists. alice gasps," i knew you weren't an elf i knew it!" "here," Bahamet hands me a sword and a belt,"you'll need these to protect yourself, and remember my son keep your loved ones close but keep your enemies closer." and with that he was gone. i looked at the sword he handed me, it was a beautiful weapon elegant and graceful. Grimalkin all of a sudden attacks me and my back is turned. i parry her sword easily and pop her sword out of her hand. they all gasp and look at me, "he is truly Koth of the hammer." said maim."no, that was my grandfather, I'm Marcus Fenix." i smile as we continue on our journey. with nar'zul in a coma the journey was easy until we got to the twisted kingdom, then it all went wrong... Chapter 3 The Twisted Kingdomthe guards squawked and screeched,"Koth is alive, the forsaken one, he is alive!" then i calmly and carefully assure them I'm an elf. then they notice my pointed ears and cat-like qualities. they look at me sheepishly. "sorry, Koth is wanted by our master we are to report if we see him..." "and i look like him, and that just happens to be my name." i said. "just to be safe you stay outside the gates while the master speaks with them," he gestures toward the grongrok. "sure" "the girls come too, the master wants to..." he trails off as Grimalkin raises an eyebrow while her hand lowers toward her sword suggestively as if to say,"we aren't going to meet the master." "alright you can stay." knowing kel'thos would flay him alive for letting possible enemies stay outside the gates."can you do me a favor" said the guard," please just kill me now keal'thos will flay me alive please kill me now" and all of a sudden a spurt of blood erupted from his throat as his head fell off,"well I've been needing some more thumb bones" said alice all of the people are looking at her. keal'thos and arya are both watching her as i smile and the three of us, me and the two witches, laugh," you where right arya he is alive" said keal'thos " i told you i felt his spirit speak to me even though his body is different his spirit is the same untamed draconic idiot, i still want to kill him" she said which to anyone else it would be said with malice but for arya its the equivalent of reminiscing. "so should we let him in so you can kill him?" "no leave him be he'll remember the past sins he committed against me... eventually" Chapter 4 The Surprise "so," i said," I'll be in the trees." i said as i jumped from branch to branch like a squirrel and land on a branch. as soon as the grongrok walk into the gates, the branch bursts into flame and i fall, but the ground turned to lava and i splashed into the lava but it didn't burn me it actually felt good as me wounds and body where cleansed as i crawled out of the pool my friends jumped back and shouted in alarm, "you how did you survive " yelled alice i sigh with pleasure as my wounds start to mend and my clothing is still intact (thank the gods) as i get ready for another dip in the pool Alice grabs my arm and leads me away " how can you survive that?" "because he is a demigod" said a voice from behind her,"and we are his family" a feminine voice this time and we turned and saw a line of dragonborn and a flash of memory, my band "hey red" i then kiss her, a quick peck. she slaps me with a playful smile,"you perv you already have a girlfriend" as she gestures toward alice,"and a Skelton none the less how did you end up with my stupid brother when you could be a queen?" "well i could've but i chose to marry him" and for the first time they notice the ring on her finger,"you know eclavadra and chandra will kill you for this." "yea i know but i'm different now i grew up with alice and i'm only 16 in this body." and they realize i'm right in the awkward silence that followed my statement. i broke the silence," so how do i know i'm a demigod?" and the red dragonborn among them, my sister and best friend, stepped forward and slashed my arm and golden ichor the blood of the gods oozed out of the gash and then it started to close up."do you believe us now?" "yeah i believe you." "then lets take you to the halls of our father, she better come too she'll need fathers blessing to stay alive when you meld your blood with hers." and we disappear in a flash of light Chapter 5 Bahemet's Palace as the light faded i gasped. the palace of my father was amazing. i saw the ratholos that changed my life,(the one that ran away when it saw me) sleeping in a pile of burning straw he lifts his head and sees me and jumps up to greet me with a lick of welcome i push him off me so i can breath. so as we walk up the path the dragons and minor godlings bowed down,"they're bowing to you,Marcus." "more likely they are bowing to you guys." but as i said it i knew they where bowing for the son of their lord had come back. as i was pondering this a voice boomed,"my son welcome back to my palace" and there stood my father in his dragon form. " father, i'm here" "for my blessing," he rolls his eyes,"really Marcus what do you take me for? a fool?" " no father." i said ashamed and my father can't keep the grin off his face"then you and your bride have my blessing. blue, show him how to do it." he cuts his wrist and white cuts hers and they put their cut wrists together and a flash of light resealed the pact between them. and i whispered to alice," are you ready?" "yes" she replied. then we cut our wrists and placed the cuts together so that my ichor and her blood mixed and with a flash of light. and she became a half demigod and has eternal youth. she gasps,"it burns through my veins it hurts." "i know i know" i say while i hold her tight" i know" "let the feast begin" said Tiamet "mother, she needs to rest save the feast till tommarow." Chapter 6 The Feast in the morning Alice felt better so i helped her get to the feasting hall where i had a shock. Chandra Naalar and Eclavadra where at the feasting table i thought," oh crap they're gonna kill me!" but they seemed fine about they where both tired of my galactic traveling antics so they resigned to the fact that they wouldn't need to come with me. "hi honey," said chandra and she kisses me and then goes back to drinking her coffee. Eclavadra scowls,"so your his new emotional sucker," Chandra smiles,"welcome to the club." and Eclavadra kisses me too. by now alice is confused," emotional sucker what does that mean?" "it means,"Eclavadra said," you fell head over heels for him" "just like us." finished Chandra and my brothers burst out laughing at the puzzled expression on Alice's face. " don't listen to them they know we're engaged and they can't do anything about it." By now my brothers had cleaned up the coffee that shot out their noses. I throw a shurikan and my brothers cups don't have a bottom and the coffee spills onto their pants, by now everybody but my brothers are laughing "so was I," Eclavadra chimed in," but he never made it to the alter." "true enough but i had business to attend to involving a space time rift and a giant squid." they smile at the memory,"yes he gave it to us for our anniversary," said Tiamet,"it was the best interdimensional calamari I've ever had." said Bahamet. then all the gods and mortals except for Alice (who looked more puzzled than ever) laughed. "coffee pot please and some honey" as my brother slid both down the table somebody chucked me a mug as i took my first sip i sighed with pleasure. i handed alice a mug and she took it cautiously and poured herself a cup. "nectar" i called and the jar slid down the table. as i poured some in my mug Alice frowned at me,"want some" i said without even looking at her as i passed it to her" sure." she said nervously "put some honey in it too it'll help with your first sip" and she did as she took a sip she took on a blissful expression."congrats you didn't burn to ashes you are officially immune to the effect of god food." said chandra Alice's head shot up at that. "relax you aren't going to die your blood is fused with ichor now." i sighed chapter 7 Return to Reality As we came back we heard some people calling out our names. and then i heard the heavy beating of wings and the ratholos landed next to me. "hey boy" i said as i scratched under his chin. as we made our way back to Dourotar. where i met up with some old friends. Rend mainly but when i saw Nar'zul i wanted to strangle him. but i didn't. and they were all surprised to see me,"you're alive i thought he killed you!" Rend said as he gestured toward nar'zul. "nope my soul escaped from my body before he took control, and by the way your golem has crumbled to dust." as Nar'zul's eye twitched with anger, i decided that it was time to leave and start anew in a nice forest glade and summon my old friends, the rathian and ratholos so we could begin building a home for us. so we left and soon saw wanted posters for my head because of the crimes i committed in the twisted city. i burned it till the ashes blew away in the wind. then i heard chirping and a creature pounced at me but i caught it in mid air,"hey scoober" and the furry little creature stopped squirming" Koth you're back" "Koth was my grandfather's name, i am Marcus Fenix." i interrupt "no matter, as i was saying, you are just in time to help me with lando." while alice looked extremely confused now while i nodded in response to scoober's chirping but then he chirped a greeting as i heard five sets of draconic wings and saw precious and the rathian/ratholos family kids in tow and they saw the other ratholos with me and hissed,"relax guys he won't hurt you or you children." but i could still tell they didn't trust him yet but landed."why don't you guys find us a cave to reside in because we might be here for awhile." and they left in search of a cave while scoober led us to the cave lando resided in. and there where druids in comas and some weren't breathing. then i saw lando, in a coma and wasn't going to come out of it any time soon. Chapter 8 the green dimension soon i was in the dimension lando's spirit was in and saw him. he was sleeping under a tree, bot in fact it was a tree demon, using its sleep magic on him. i ran over and lit the tree on fire it screamed and lando woke up he took one look at the screaming tree demon and started to run but i grabbed him by the neck,"listen you dolt i'm here to help you out of here scoober and rend want to see you and more importantly not me." he turns around and screams," you where dead nar'zul killed and enslaved your evil twisted body!!!" "no my soul escaped and through my father's will my memory was shattered into thousands of ruby shards. i am trying to regain my memory. though my father gave me some of it back..." as i explained the circumstances he started to realize he should've guessed that when he saw me with ferogi and maim. "well do you want to get out of here or are you going to stay?" "i plan to stay." "i was hoping you'd say that, now lets kill this demonic scourge." Chapter 9 the demonic scourge as we traveled through the dimension i killed every demon i saw and freed every imprisoned creature and the more dangerous creatures joined the fight against the demonic scourge. fairy dragons, dragons, and crazy destructive artifact creatures including myr and golems that where sleeping under ruble and buried underground d with help i reactivated them to help destroy the demons and guard the entrances to the 9 hells so no more demons could come out of the pit and a we started to leave a pit fiend started to get cocky so of course i had to take his confidence to the safe amount of none. so a battle ensued and as he charged at me i grabbed my sword and jumped over him. as i executed my flip i took one of his arms off and he dropped his giant axe thing. then i sliced his back legs off," learn to walk on two feet idiot." he is about to use magic when i blast his magical aura with black fire. and his head just explodes into dust and as his body crumbles to sand i grab his axe thing, put it in my pack and lando and i leave the green dimension... Chapter 10 the good and the bad once lando returned to his body and i returned through a dimensional rift. we sat down and caught up on events."so a skelton fell in love with you," lando said dryly and scoober chirps,"yes scoober I'll be sure to take care of her." i say with a tired inflection and alice looks at me with a curious expression and then she gets a surprised expression while scoober continues to chirp alice hears the chirps mix together into words and she hears, "well i know you will take care of her but... why hello my name as you know, is scoober i'm glad you can finally understand me." and as alice gains a horrorified look on her face," he can talk its good you understand him."but why couldn't i understand him till now?" "same thing happened to me i thought he was a mindless animal" scoober growls at me," let me finish, i thought he was a mindless animal at one time then i understood him and he taught me things about other animals i never knew, that animals aren't mindless and have an interspecies language... hey thats one of the fragments of my memory shard!" and as i touch it i see so few things but amazingly horrible things. speaking with the hive mind and the swarmlord and leading a tyranid army. fighting the dark army and one tiny thing. My entrance to the knights HQ and i was knighted and almost killed Lando. Chapter 11 The Archon and after i recovered from my mental breakdown Lando asked me what happened," i remember what I've done..." "do you know what and who you are?" both Lando and Scoober asked. "i'm a knight of the Solana Galaxy, sir!" i say with more discipline," who is your mentor?" asks Scoober,"and who is our leader?" asks Lando, "my mentor is Rend, and the leader is the almighty Archon, sir!" Alice shakes me now,"snap out of it stupid!" i shake my head," what happened?" "you remember enough to be let back into the headquarters." said Lando calmly all of a sudden we hear,"I AM THE ARCHON!!!!" "do you never get tired of that dude!?!?" no not really i like it." he says. now Alice is terrified."my dear human i did not mean to scare you." the Archon says apologetically. "who are you!?!?!." she asks incrediously. "all in due time my dear but first," then i feel excruciating pain in my head as the Archon searches for the something he wants from me. and as he finds it it becomes agony and i force him out of my mind. i gasp as the pain disappears," don't do that again!" "it wasn't supposed to hurt but you have a different mind than before and I'll have to put that part in next time i try to do that... lets go back to the headquarters and train you for active duty." "only if she can be trained." i say as i gesture at alice. "fine but you must be trained by you! as rend said after you left Dourotar that you had graduated from your apprenticeship after Ferogi told him that you brought the thirteenth stone to bring him back to life. But you need to be retrained so you can be her mentor." Chapter 12 The salamanders as we walked through the forest of living trees i sensed something,"hit the dirt!!!" and as i grab alice and drop to the ground two chaos cultists run out of the woods carrying greater demon hearts and the y are spinning in circles. i lash whips around their necks then a storm of bolter fire flashes over my head and i hear the clomping of boots and i grab my power armor from my pack and i step back into it and some robotic arms tighten the bolts of my armor the armor is made from salamander armor painted red and with necron part accessories like their gauss cannons with attached arms that i hooked up to my armors power grid and control center. and as i stand a company of Salamanders burst through the bushes and look at me and the chaplain bows to me," my lord and master how long has it been since you visited our halls?" "Da'kir you know i'm banished from nocturne." i say calmly and without spite. "sorry my lord." and by now Alice is looking at me as if she doesn't know me anymore. "so what else haven't you told me?" she asks me in a harsh voice. "so much courage in one so young my lord!" commented Da'kir "chaplain i am younger than you think." and i remove my helmet (i got banished from nocturne because i wouldn't take of my helmet) and they see my true face, that i am merely 20 years old (in fact i'm more than 300 years old) "my lord you're so young..." "i am 336 years old in fact but, how do you put it, i am xeno scum, yet i am more like you than you know." and as my face shifts they see my crown of stone. "holy terra you are a godling!" then a tyranid lictor jumps at me and i grab it by the throat and one of my servo arms blasts it into dust. the salamanders leave and i step out of my armor and put it into my pack. and we continue through the forest. Chapter 13 The Knight's HQ and then we see it the HQ and as the guards stand to attention i pass by them without trouble and when i step through the door everyone stops talking and stares at me. "what is that freak doing back here." some lady sneers and i glare at her. the Archon clears his throat," go back to your business." " why does everyone hate me now i thought people wouldn't care that i'm back." a harsh laugh came from the other side of the room, and rend walks through the crowd," ha! you few liked you! Fewer could put up with you i was one of them!" "you hated me you ungrateful" then alice punches me. "you are the ungrateful one he allowed you to pass and become a mentor." "as if," snorted rend,"i just wanted him gone." then alice looks angrier and her magic is a little more active and those among the crowd who can sense such energy streams hit the dirt and rend's arm twisted around behind his back and he screamed. then i grab alice and pull her away from herself so to speak and she calms down. and rend's arm untwists and he tries to strangle alice but then i grab his hand and flip him. "don't try that again!" i growl. he tries to shoot me with quills. i dodge them. i leave him there and walk away everyone parts before me and stares at me, like i'm a wild animal. Chapter 14 training begins and so training began. soon it became apparent that i didn't need as much training as the Archon thought. soon i started Alice's training. she was good to. she could slice through steel with ease. "good job now lets try some forgery." "but isn't that illegal!" " yes but i am a master forger and the Archon sometimes needs spies to gather information, i'm his man for the job. I've needed a partner to pull off the act so you need to be a noblewoman and i'm your escort." "so wait what does that have to do with forgery?" "well you need to be a courier so you can make a quick copy. that's why." and so we train. and soon she is a decent forger. "next we have... good god why does he insist on this crap about anti!" and i go onto muttering about necrotic uses and etc. Alice is horrified,"you can use necromancy?" she asks shakily " yes i can use it but i don't use it much i'm not sure if i remember what to do!" she looks at me like i am an animal. "you can use death magic, you can bring my sister back, right?" "no i'm not supposed to the Archon forbids it." she looks at me," there is a way that is possible but i really shouldn't go into to much depth but it incudes certain dark powers that i will not use and neither will you." i see the sad look on her face," trust me you don't want to do it. its like dancing with the devil. and i know how hard it is to fight the great destroyer. trust your mentor and your best friend." Chapter 15 The Ritual as we ended the training session she pleaded with me one more time to bring her sister back. i had to say no, that i couldn't without dying. that seemed to stop her in mid sentence she stopped and looked at me," you'd die if you tried?" "yes my step-father tried to bring my mother back and he died before the ritual was completed." she looks at me with a curious dread and she understood why i was reluctant to tell her. "okay i won't ask again." she said sadly. i wanted comfort her but she just ran away crying. Chapter 16 Return To Azure Narub the next day i take her to northrend to test her endurance. and as usual i get into huge trouble when i go to northrend, the first time we found azure Narub, the second time we fought ayra and her vampire dreadlord, the third time i found her sanctuary for undead and certain outcasts of society. now i steer clear of the places where trouble happened but azure Narub was wiped from my memory so i ended up accidently finding it and i, being me, had to investigate what was down there. now let me tell you it was kinda spooky but not scary i knew in the back of my mind that nothing here would hurt me because of the fire in my veins. i also knew somehow where to go and where not to tread. spiders were all around us as we descended into the caverns. then i hear a different pitch of scuttling and i light my hands ablaze. there in the shadows stood the spider lord, or what used to be him. he looks at me and lets out a grumbling hiss," well i see you lived through that ordeal with the enslaving." "i was never enslaved and i never will be!" i responded proudly. "well you are resourceful," he pauses," yes mistress they are here." and guess who walks out of the shadows, Lolth, the Spider Queen. " ah mistress Lolth what a pleasant surprise, do you have and unruly creature that needs killing?" she scowls at me," no, its about eclavadra, she is becoming restless. do you think you could take her off my hands for a while, she's starting to plot again." i look at alice and she looks at me, she rolls her eyes,"fine but if she tries to kill me I'll hurt her!" Lolth looks at me as if to say,"I'll make sure she doesn't do that." Chapter 17 The Guest and so we took the teleporter to my ship, and Eclavadra is already there," what took you two so long?" "teleporters aren't as fast as they used to be 50 years ago." "why not use your interdimensional rift jump talent?" "i can create an interdimensional rift?" "yes, you can and could for a long time." she purrs. she grabs my hand and reaches out and slices a claw through the air, and a little tear opens up in front of me, " should i step through?" Eclavadra shoves me into it and i fall over and hit nothing but i stopped none the less. i get up and tear another hole through my dimension (the fifty-second dimension) into my spaceship, Alice and Eclavadra are in a cat fight. they are arguing and going at it. when i got back they where about to slice each other in half. "whoa you two quit it!" i yelled as i stepped between them." i can't take my eyes of you two for a minute without one of you trying to kill the other!" eclavadra glares at me," why are you interrupting our conversation!?" "yes why did you interrupt?" Alice asks calmly. "i thought you where going to kill eachother." "no we weren't!" fumes Eclavadra "sorry." was all i could say. Chapter 18 Return to Vulcan the return to my world was tedious with the fact my warp jumper drive wasn't charged yet so we just had to take our sweet time getting there. half way there the warp drive was fully charged and i used it. five seconds later i was fine but alice was running to the bathroom, apparently warp jumping didn't agree with her stomach. and when she came back i was looking at my homeworld,"beautiful isn't it." "it looks like a rock to me." said alice "you are closer to the truth than you think." said my sister."and why is it just stone sister? it was full of wild living places." "a tyrant has claimed the throne in your absence. you'll have to fight him for the throne." "sure but it won't go well... for him." Chapter 19 The Tyrant "you two should stay here." i told the girls. and before they could protest i opened a rift hole and stepped onto my homeworld. back on the ship they are heading towards the teleporters. back on Vulcan i'm walking towards my cavern, my now defiled palace corrupted by that horrible creature. as i walk this lonely road, sorry, i'm quoting greenday, people are staring. i know they're whispering,"he is back!" and they start to hide and bar their doors. stories had reached Vulcan via interdimensional mail creatures about my corruption. they were true at one time. i hear a rasping scraping sound. a dragon launches out of the tunnel and roars, about to eat me. but then he licks me," hey Granger, long time no see." i say to the huge black dragon. he rumbles deep in his throat. his gruff voice sweeps through my mind," brother how long has it been?" "twenty, thirty years Granger. how come you haven't taken a stand against the tyrant?" i ask. he raises his neck and i see a huge collar made out of dark magic connected to a chain of the same kind."Granger! those that have done this will pay dearly for it!" i shout then i hear flapping and see Beaut flying down from her hidden cave,"hello son, (she kinda adopted me as her own when my mother died and her other son is Granger.) what brings you back home i thought," she is interrupted by a ZZZZZZZAP! and a pop when eclavadra and alice appear behind me alice, not noticing the dragons comes up and smacks me," why'd you leave us up on that ship!?" then Beaut growls and i hear a crackling popping sound of her fire breath coming up her throat"STOP! she didn't mean it she doesn't know you yet... mom." alice stares at me eclavadra goes over and scratches Granger under his chin. "your MOTHER! she is you mother!?" Chapter 20 The Story "no, not my birth mother. she adopted me when my mother died. a few palace guards who were paladins of my father in disguise took me to her cave and left me there. i wasn't crying like most babies would be. i was silent couldn't open my eyes. she took me to the volcanic forest. where my fathers sacred tree is. its well hidden in the deepest part of the forest. actually its floating on a rock in a volcanic crater filled with lava. nobody goes there if you slip you're gonna fall to your death." Beaut takes over for me while i take a few deep breaths. "i took him there to cremate him when i felt something. a heart beat, faint but defiantly there. so instead of cremating him i tried to feed him. but he wouldn't wake up. so with a heavy heart i gently placed him in the lava. he didn't burn, he just floated over to the island in the middle of it. when he hit it a magma walker looked at him and promptly places him in the tree, opens his mouth and crams a fruit down his throat. i knew what he was doing, he was preparing to feast on it. but when it stuffed the fruit in his mouth he swallowed reflexively. the lava walker seems surprised but then he opens his eyes. and starts crying, i knew then that he would live." "and so i became her son." i finished. "so you just lived with her." "yes i did." then i hear another pair of wings beating and i see my old girlfriend. "well she is gonna be pissed off at me." i comment then she lands and she changes into a female vulcanox " why hello looks like you have a new girlfriend. you gonna break her heart and leave her with your family to?" she sneers. "listen Cynder i was sent into the army. i had no choice!" i exclaim. " then maybe you'd like to meet your daughter." and with that she turns around transforms into a dragon and flies up too her cave. leaving me behind. i roll my eyes," I'll be right back." i sigh. Chapter 21 Family Reunion as i transform into a dragon and flap up to the cave, the girls are on the ground," why can't you take me up Granger!?" shouts Alice. i ignore them. as i reach the cave entrance, Cynder launches out of it and tackles me. she tries to kill me but i grab her neck and hold her. she looks like a cat, trying to claw me and burn me. i roll my eyes," really Cynder you know better than that." i say in a tone that makes her stop and look at me," i'm not Cynder, i'm her daughter you overgrown," and as she goes on using ever more colorful oaths i grab her jaw and clamp it shut." you shouldn't speak to an ancient dragon like that hatchling. and especially not your dad." she stops squirming and i let go of her mouth. " my father is dead!" she roars. then Cynder steps onto the ledge outside the cave," he's right Ember that is your dad." she sighs. i let go of my daughter. she flaps and lands on the ledge with a thud and she studies me. "honey," drawls Cynder," you should know," Ember interrupts," what i should know what! you lied to me, you said he was dead!" "that was to protect you. it was to protect your mother also." i sigh."its time i told you your heritage." Chapter 22 Heritage "it started when Beaut brought me home from the forest. your mother had hatched the day i was born. so we played together when we were young and one day..." i trail off, Ember continues for me," one day my father and Beaut had a falling out and i had to make a decision, leave with my father or he would kill me. i chose to stay here with your father. and he was about to kill me when," i jump in," and i just snapped she was hiding in a small hole trying to hide from her fathers wrath. i started to get bigger. my scales grew and i grew crests and i turned into a dragon. i charged him just as he grabs Ember and is about to rip her throat out. i grab him and i threw him into the side of the mountain which unfortunately, for him, it was also an active volcano. he was a genetic mishap and he was a black dragon. he was burned to death." "i think i understand. sorta." says Ember Chapter 23 The Tyrant and so i walked toward the palace of my fore-fathers. now desecrated by the sick twisted horrible creature now on the throne. the palace guards lower their spears and one shouts," HALT! Who goes there..." he trails off. he looks at me," my leash, i am so sorry to inform you that you have been banished from this planet." "not for long." "sir you are not to enter the castle!" he shouts. i look at him. he looks back. then he lifts his spear," sir you will die if you enter so enter at your own risk." he lets me pass then he bars the way again. as i walk through the town around the base of the palace, people are staring at me. i know what they are saying behind closed doors," the banished king has returned! we're all gonna die!" and so i make my way through the town and end up at the palace. by now word has reached the tyrant that I'm back and that i intend to reclaim my throne. so he is waiting for me at the door. he is a demon. and i was trained to kill demons. i even read purging the unclean for noobs, demon slaying for dummies, exterminatus encyclopedia and the history of the exterminatus and i follow the rules in the book of grudges (aka the astartes codex). so purging this demon will be easy." run away, my son run away he will kill you!" whispers my father. "why have you returned? you are dead." asks the demon. "you have corrupted my people let them go or my wrath will destroy you and your soul will burn in the light of the gods!" i shout. "so be it." the demon steps forward. Chapter 24 The Demon the demon steps forward. i open my palm and grasp the hilt of my sword. i grab my shield with the other. he chuckles," ha ha ha, the little boy has a mans weapons. Boys shouldn't be given swords to play with. They should be throwing stones or hitting eachother with tree branches." "then you don't know Marcus Fenix!" i roar. he smiles with that evil, twisted little smile all demons have," how long has it been since you fought an opponent of greater strength than yourself." he purrs i don't answer. he just chuckles. as if there is something incredibly amusing about the fact that he is going to die. i ponder the fact when he strikes at me. i'm to fast for him though. he ends up slashing a palace guard in half. he doesn't even scream he just falls to the ground, silently. i slash at the demon but he moves just in time so as to not be executed, instead i lop off one of his wings. he then cuts my shield in half. i doesn't p phase me i just grab another sword and i follow through with a series of lightning fast blows. He backs up. "you will die at the feet of the devil godling!" "not today!" and with that i slice his head off and he screeches runs around in circles and turns to ash. i wipe my blade clean of devil blood. "looks like you died at the feet of a god." Chapter 25 Aftermath "He did it, I can't believe he did it." whispered villagers and nobles alike. "i must leave now but remember that I am still your king. and with that i leave to my cave, gather my belongings. " Granger take care of Ember. She still needs someone to be the man of the family, I'll be back soon I promise" and with that Anya drags me into the teleporter beam. but i slash a dimension portal and leap through it. Eclavadra is already on the ship because she got bored and went to go work on her web weaving, or rather have her spiders work on her wed weaving, extracting venom from my venomous snake collection, and probably adding mutagens to the beard devil viper, made by injecting the blood from a certain devil or demon. And so she is. She is extracting multiple types of venom from various creatures. "I'm working on a new mutagen." she says without even looking." somebody is going to be in so much trouble if she uses it on her spiders." i warn. she whips around to look at me and says," somebody is an idiot if he thinks he can stop me from doing that." i roll my eyes, press a button on the wall and the poison starts to disappear. she glares at me but just sighs after a moment. she leaves for her room. Chapter 26 Revelations in my personal area i was hiding, " So many did not survive, but I am a survivor, and some part of me will not give up hope. I will be living when the time comes to leave and become known again. I will survive, Die you filthy" and after some gunfire i finish the book i was reading, well actually it was my wartime spoken journal. Soon after that entry my sister was infected with a xeno. i saved her soul before the chest-buster erupted. her soul has now taken command of that little creature and she remembers me from when she still had her in her real body. but those days are long past she now lives in the ships vast cargo hold. "Where are you?" asks Alice over my tactical Com. "Working in the cargo hold." I answer and then I shut off my Com. Elsewhere in the ship Eclavadra is trying to keep Alice from charging down there and throttling me for hanging up on her. "He's probably talking to his sister..." "He has a sister?" Alice asks. "No he had a sister more or less, I wouldn't go down there she's extremely protective of her offspring and only brother, I shouldn't say anymore than that..." "Well what is he hiding from me?!" "Your worst nightmare." Chapter 27 Nightmare Beasts About 5 minutes later Alice is banging on the door to the cargo hold," What the heck are you doing!?" she demands. "Reading." "Then why aren't you up in your room doing it!" by now Eclavadra is trying to drag her away from the door. Alice breaks free and opens the door. Something moves in the darkness. "no, don't come any closer to me, and sis, keep your brood away from her." I calmly say to the darkness. There is a hissing in the darkness. Then Alice's eyes adjust, and she screams. Then her magic is starting to ignite. I grab her hand and drain the magic so as not to be considered a threat to my sister's unborn brood. She tries to break my grip and fry them. "Stop! You fool! Do you want to die!?" "Die?" "Yes die, she is protective of her children!" Alice just stares at me. "Let me show you. Be very quiet." "Hey sis," there is a hiss that sounds displeased coming from the other end of the room," No sister, she will not harm your family." "Her family?" "Not now, I'll explain later."
