Dante’s street tactics
#8 of Evens and Dante's Adventure in Unova
I don't own Pokémon in anyway except on the DS and Gameboy. This is my first attempt at battling from a secondary character's stand point. Of course the fighting style will be different but if something can be improved upon please tell me. Both characters will also be adding an additional teammate at the end of the story. So enjoy the story.
Dante's street tactics
It was around four o' clock when Lenora called Dante to the battlefield. When Dante got there Lenora had both of her Pokémon out, "what are the two that you will be using?" Dante throws out Gothorita and Galvantula. "These two will fight." Lenora stands at the other end of the field, "whenever you're ready." Dante has Galvantula step forward, "ready." Lenora sends out Watchog, "I don't have to repeat the rules right." Dante shakes his head, "nope." The judge stands at midfield, "since the rules do not have to be restated I will proceed, battle begin."
"Galvantula use signal beam at Watchog's feet!" "Watchog dodge!" Watchog side steps the beam, "now Galvantula use electroweb!" Galvantula shoots out a web that wraps up Watchog before Lenora could react, "now spin it in the air." Galvantula begins spinning around with Watchog. After three revolutions, "Galvantula send it into the ceiling." Galvantula does a half circle spin and sends Watchog flying into the ceiling. Lenora is calm while the battle is going on, "Watchog latch onto the ceiling." Watchog freed from the web twists its body so it could grab on to the ceiling. Dante smiles, "Galvantula get up there and use bug bite." Galvantula scurries up the side of the gym and rushes Watchog who is still hanging on the rafters in the ceiling. Galvantula draws closer to Watchog Lenora orders, "Watchog drop down and use focus blast!" Watchog releases its grip on the ceiling and brings its hands together to form the energy ball. "Galvantula don't give it the chance, use electroweb." Galvantula shoots its web again and traps Watchog, Lenora looks a little frustrated. "It seems like I'm not going to have a chance to counter attack am I?" Watchog is dangling from the ceiling struggling to get free, "Galvantula ragdoll Watchog." Galvantula spins Watchog crashing it into the rafters, after a few seconds Galvantula throws Watchog to the ground. Watchog is unconscious, "Watchog is unable to battle Galvantula is the winner." Dante calls Galvantula down, "don't worry Lenora Galvantula's web took most of the force for that attack so it shouldn't be too hurt." Lenora recalls Watchog and sends out Herdier. Dante substitutes Galvantula for Gothorita, "we win here and we get the badge, it's all on you Gothorita." Gothorita steps forward and does a little spin, "my, my leaving me to do clean up, you're going to have to make that up to me tonight." Dante smirks, "I figured I wouldn't be getting much sleep tonight anyway." The referee announces, "Let the second round begin!" Lenora takes the initiative, "Herdier use takedown!" Herdier charges down the field, "Gothorita use psybeam." Gothorita fires off the multicolored beam almost hitting Herdier who does a quick sidestep still rushing Gothorita. As Herdier draws closer Lenora orders, "Herdier use retaliate." Herdier roars and charges Gothorita even faster than before, "Gothorita use feint attack." Just as Herdier is about to hit Gothorita she disappears. Herdier stops and looks around, Gothorita kicks it in the back of the head making Herdier stumble. Before Herdier can pick itself up, "Gothorita use shadow ball." Gothorita unleashes a shadow ball at pointblank range. Herdier is thrown into the air, "now Gothorita use psyshock." The space in front of Gothorita distorts and a shock wave is thrown toward the falling Herdier. Herdier is hit again with a psychic attack "Gothorita don't let up use shadow ball." Gothorita uses another shadow ball hitting Herdier again for massive damage. Herdier falling out of the battle field is caught by Gothorita's telekinesis, preventing any further damage. Gothorita carefully gives Lenora her Pokémon, Lenora recalls Herdier "if it wasn't for the fact that this is your first gym I'd say you were a seasoned trainer ready for the Pokémon league." "Well I still have to get the other six badges." "With your skills that won't be much of a problem getting them, so you already have a badge." Dante holds out his badge case, one of the spots is already filled with a badge in the shape of a sword. "My first badge was from the Caballero gym." Lenora takes a step back, "you mean you beat morgana!" "Yeah it wasn't extremely difficult." Lenora looks at Dante with a awestruck look on her face, "she is considered one of the toughest gym leaders in this region and your saying that you won?" "First try." Lenora thinks, 'if he and his friend are this good then the finals of the league might go down to those two now that would be a battle to watch.' Lenora smiles and hands Dante the badge, he takes it and puts it in the next spot.
Dante get his Pokémon back from nurse joy, "your Pokémon are fully rested, and have a safe trip." Nurse joy bows and then returns to her paper work, Dante with Pokéballs in hand puts them on his belt. Evens is waiting by the front doors, "well now that we have gotten a badge I say we move onto the next town." Dante nods, "where is Zoroark?" as the two leave the building a woman approaches them, "so are we ready to go?" Dante looks at her confused, "excuse me but do we know you?" the woman latches onto Evens arm, "this is Zoroark, she thought it would be safer to be in disguise while outside of battle." Dante chuckles, "alright so where are we headed?" Evens looks at the map, "how about Robindeen that's where you got your first badge right?" Dante pats Evens on the shoulder, "yeah and we could train on the way, you're going to need every bit of it." Evens looks a little hurt, "you don't think I could win?" "It's not that, the gym leader is a fucking genius at Pokémon battles, I almost lost every round if not for my Pokémon evolving giving me a slight edge." Evens crosses his arms, "so she's that tough, hmm well I guess we'll be training pretty hard then." The two walk down the street until they hear the sounds of someone in distress, "help I'm being mugged!" Evens and Dante rush down the street to see an elderly man surrounded by three thugs wearing team nightfall's uniform. Evens looks at Zoroark, she takes a step away and transforms into a standard Zoroark, Dante calls out Galvantula. One of the thugs notices the pair and begins to back away, "remember this old man we'll be back for those Pokémon." The three take off in the opposite direction. The old man still cowering in fear do not notice as Evens and Dante approach him, "Excuse me sir are you alright?" the old man clutching his chest looks up, "did you two save me?" "We didn't do much but basically yeah, we did." The old man stands up and reveals two Pokémon eggs inside of his coat, "here I was going to give these to the Pokémon daycare so they can find a good trainer but you boys just proved that you're more than capable." The old man hands Evens and Dante each an egg. Dante tenderly grabs the egg, "do you know what kind of Pokémon is in each egg?" the old man shakes his head, "I found these on the side of the road abandoned." Evens hands the egg to Zoroark, "think you care hold it?" she nods yes carefully cradling the egg. The old man bows to both of them and takes his leave. Evens and Dante continue walking to the next town. When the two are out of sight the three thugs' approach the old man again, "boss did they take the egg?" the old man straightens up his posture, "of course and with the aggressive programing that we forced the eggs to endure we can guarantee that those two with most likely be killed on their first night." The old man removes his coat revealing team nightfall's uniform. "Now let's report the good news to my brother."
*And that is another chapter down. What will become of are two heroes when the eggs hatch!? How will team nightfall's plan unfold? How will Evens training go? All that and more next time ON DRAGON BALL Z!!! haha just kidding. *
