It's late, I know ._. I finished it on Sunday morning but didn't edit or have it looked over until just now X3. Thanks, Arnavon! Anyway, here it is, chapter 6. Hope you all enjoy it~, tell me what you think.

"Beneath the toes, too..." Cole's eyes stare down at the small fox simply moving about his foot, doing as instructed. "Yes, sir." The micro states happily, flicking his little orange tail and moving beneath the dark, pink sole of the giant to press his nose against the expansive, fleshy toe. Cole can hear the fox's tongue sliding over his flesh and, as good as it feels, he can't help but feel... bored. His toes curl around the micro's head, pressing it into the crevice between his toe and the ball of his foot. He squeezes, forcing the fox's body forward and taking his feet out from under him. Cole then presses down and forces the fox's body out spread-eagle beneath his foot.

The mouse's sole presses further, compressing and bulging outwards a bit while his toes uncurl and settle onto the floor. The fox keeps breathing, not protesting, just struggling a little and continuing to lick against his master's flesh; the taste of sweat fills his muzzle but it doesn't seem to matter; nor does the heat or the semi-powerful musk coming off of that warm, pink mouse sole. Cole feels out the fox's movements for a moment, then begins to add even more weight, forcing the vulpine's body to begin to cave and causing the fox to struggle even a little more fervently. Despite the situation, the fox micro continues licking and nuzzling, though, Cole does notice it wheezing somewhat harder.

"What if I said I'm going to kill you?" Cole asks, eyes narrowing a while the micro's struggles continue against his broad footpaw. There's no spirit behind the struggling, though. It's almost like the micro was simply programmed to struggle when pressed hard enough. As if it's just simulating the reaction someone might give if their life were in danger.

"P-please don't kill me, master." It says, with some emotion. It sure sounded real but, as Cole continues to press down, feeling a few ribs crack, the fox just keeps struggling and attempting to carry out its duties, barely able to move its tongue against Cole's toeflesh any longer. Eventually, the mouse lets up, holding his paw above the vulpine before he settles it down nearby the little orange body. The fox gets up quickly despite its injuries, and moves towards its masters toes to resume licking and clearing the sweat. The fox starts to press and push its muzzle beneath Cole's toe to carry out his previous command. "You can't get beneath it, you're not strong enough to lift my toe." He mumbles, watching the fox uselessly try to shove itself under his toe.

After a while of watching, Cole's ears wilt and he lifts his foot so that the fox can get beneath it. He felt bad for the creature. It really had no will of its own. He feels it go back to licking and servicing his toes just as the mouse had asked. "Hoen, are you hurt?" He queries, and the fox stops licking to feel over his chest. "I am... I'm sorry, master. Did I do something wrong?" Hoen stares up at Cole whom simply shakes his head. "No, Hoen. You're doing fine." The mouse's ears continue to remain flat against his skull.

"Not quite the same, is it?" Cole blinks at the female voice, looking up to see Serenity walk in.

"You don't have to taunt me about it anymore. I know I'm an idiot, I... I really took him for granted." Cole's fingers curl a little and he simply looks down at Hoen again. The fox finishes one toe and moves to the other, quickly pressing its face into the damp, musky flesh that makes up the bottom of Cole's second toe. The familiar warm, textured feeling returns as the fox's tongue sweeps over his flesh and clears away what'd built up over half a day's worth of walking.

"No, I think you've suffered enough." Serenity looks down at Kiera, petting over the little tiger settled calmly in her palm. "I hate what they're doing to you and him just as much as you do. This is the type of thing I want to stop..." She frowns a little. "Micros like Nicas and Kiera don't deserve this... I still hate what they did to her." Her expression lightens again and she looks to Cole. "We went to the park and left some supplies for Nicas to find. I've also something for you" She pulls a device out of her pocket and hands it to Cole.

"What did they do to Kiera? She's right there with you..." Cole tilts his head, looking up at his sister.

"Well, yes... It's not important, don't worry about it. That, right there, is a tracker. I think I know of a way for you to get Nicas back, but you have to be secretive about it."

Cole looks at the screen and the bright red mark fleshing near the northeast section "How did you give the tracker on this screen to Nicas?"

"I didn't. Once he finds the food I set out for him, he'll pick it up; I'm certain. Using this, you can find him. That's not the only problem, though. If you do find him, you still have to deal with the fact that he's illegal to have. On that front... I'm still working. I don't know what to do yet, but I figure we need to always know where he is so that's why I'm giving this to you. If you -do- go out to see him, make it short and be -certain- no one is following you..."

"Wow, Sera..." Cole looks at the tracker for a moment. "How did you get this?"

"I bought it, of course. They're not that expensive. These are the things you can do with a job." She smirks while Cole wriggles his nose and waves a paw. "Fine fine... Thanks, sis. I've never given you enough credit.. So when will we know he's found it?"

"When it starts moving, of course."

--

Nicas groans, rubbing his head a little. His eyes crack open to see something standing above him, but he can't quite make out what. "Kirik?" He mumbles tiredly. "What're you doing there..?" He notices the figure lift something into the air, then make a sudden movement. Instinct kicks in and the wolf rolls towards the figure, narrowly avoiding something that makes a hard sound against the floor. Nicas, now wide awake, looks up to see a pair of red eyes looking straight down at him. A growl sounds from the creature's mouth.

"W-what th-" He doesn't have time. He quickly dashes to the other side of the room to put some distance between him and whatever just attacked him. It smelled like... Kirik. The wolf quickly looks towards Kirik's bed to see he 'coon stirring from his sleep. "W-what's going on?" Kirk groans while Nicas backs away from the other raccoon. "Who are you? D-do you own this place or something? It's all a mistake! We thought we could stay!" The raccoon says nothing. Those eyes narrow and it seems to prepare again. It dashes forward and Nicas quickly moves out of the way, jumping to the right but the raccoon seems ready for it. The attacker buries the blunt object it carries Nicas' stomach, winding the wolf and sending him to the ground. Nicas groans, coughing heavily and writhing over the ground.

"Dad?" Kirik's voice sounds as he sits up from the bed, seeming confused at first, then panicked. "Dad...! N-Nicas! Run!" He shouts while staring in fear at the figure of his father looming above Nicas. He quickly moves to the door, opening it and allowing light to pour into the room, giving Nicas a much better view of the tall, muscled raccoon carrying a blunt, metal object not unlike a bat.

The wolf shakes his head a little bit, blurry vision working just well enough for him to see the raccoon preparing to hit him again. He twists his body out of the way, hearing the bat strike the ground right next to him; a narrow miss. He scrambles backwards while Kirik watches, trying to figure out what to do. The poor child is simply too panicked. "Nicas don't k-..." Kirik stops, cringing as he realizes the wolf might not have a choice. Nicas gets to his feet but the raccoon sweeps his legs out from under him and follows with a quick strike to the wolf's back. A loud yelp resounds through the shelter and Nicas grasps desperately into the darker corner of the shelter where he knew the toothpick to have been left the night before. He feels about on the ground desperately, mind racing, body disoriented as he can't help but think this might be the end. He can feel the raccoon winding up behind him to deliver the blow that'd surely knock him unconscious and, just as he feels it might be over, his fingers wrap around what he hopes is the toothpick. He hears the whirling sound of the bat coming down through the air and times his dodge well, rolling to the side until he's on his belly again before pushing up, twisting, and thrusting the toothpick forward. The feeling of flesh tearing and ripping around the wooden stick feels oddly nice to the wolf, and he only hopes it does enough damage. Nicas shifts his gaze up into the expression on the raccoon's face. The widened eyes, no longer red, perhaps because of the sunlight shining into the room, stare down at the wolf and a weak gasping sound is made before the raccoon falls backwards.

"Dad...!" Nicas hears, watching Kirik approach, staring down at his father. He feels bad for a moment, wondering if that was really Kirik's dad? And why in the world he'd attack. The wolf slowly tries to regain composure, still shivering and suffering a high from his adrenaline rush as well as an aching back and stomach. He still feels he might hurl.

*Beep*

Nicas blinks, ears perking and looking around until he notices a collar on Kirik's dad's neck. A light where the ring would normally be flashes each time it beeps.

*beep beep*

The noise keeps speeing up and, maybe it's simply due to too many action films with Cole, but Nicas' mind could only settle on one conclusion: bomb. "Kirik!" He grasps the boy and tugs him away, running for the door. He exits the shelter and keeps running, working through his body pains to get as far away as he could. After running about as far as he figures he'll get, he falls to his knees and crouches over the younger furry. An explosion completely disintegrates the shelter. Not a large explosion, but enough that everything inside would've been destroyed.

Nicas stays in place for a moment, panting heavily. Everything hurt, it seemed, and he couldn't will himself to get up for a moment. Kirik, however, struggles out of Nicas grasp and scrambles back towards the remains of the shelter. "Dad!" He shouts while Nicas works up the energy to chase after him. "Wait! be careful, Kirik!" He shouts, slowly working his way onto his feet to weakly limp towards the shelter again, approaching as the 'coon boy digs at the dirt, trying to get towards what's left of the interior of the shelter. Nicas grasps him, tugging the screaming boy backwards. "K-kirik, comeon, it's dangerous here. We have to leave..."

"Let go!" Kirk growls, still thrashing until Nicas pulls him into a hug, partially to get him to stop thrashing, and partially because he knows the boy understands what just happened. "He's gone.. We can't stay here, okay?" Nicas frowns, wanting to help more but not knowing how. He recalls that Kirk said his father was angry with him... But this couldn't have been a result of that... could it? Kirik stops struggling after a while, unable to overcome the wolf's greater strength. He quivers, sobbing in Nicas' arms. "It's okay... L-let's find a place to rest..." Nicas lowers his ears and tail. He wanted to cry just as much as Kirik is now. It takes all he has left just to move his legs forward.

Nicas brings Kirk to a spot near to the trail they'd been following the day before. He sets the raccoon down and collapses, leaning against a tree so that their backs face the trail, providing them with a little cover... just in case. He breathes heavily, holding his stomach and fighting the urge to regurgitate. As he sucks air down, Kirik simply looks down at the ground, fidgeting with something between his fingers and saying nothing.

"I'm really sorry..." Nicas says as soon as he feels he can bear to talk again. "I didn't have a choice." The words don't sound good even when Nicas knows he's telling the truth. He'd just killed this child's father.

"T-they did this to him. They made my parents.. crazy." Kirik shudders, clenching his fists, the fur around his eyes damp with tears. Nicas tries to help dry them, shifting on to his knees and pulling the child into another gentle hug. "I know it's hard but... anything you can tell me. Whatever you're comfortable with.. W-what do you mean by crazy? Is this what... you were talking about earlier when you said they were angry?"

"I-it's like with the Nakushita..." Kirk's jaw clenches somewhat and his eyes divert. "They were forced... I-I was nearly caught one day, by the giants, but they protected me. They stopped the giants from finding me b-but they were found themselves. I saw the giants inject them with something a-and then put those collars on them. The giants let them go afterwards, and I tried to see if they were okay but they attacked me... so I ran. The giants made them angry, they made them into... monsters..." He cringes, obviously on the verge of losing it again.

"That's what you meant..." Nicas looks down at the face of his companion, feeling worse than he had even moments ago. It all began to make some sense. Still, there was something off... "But they attacked me back there, not you. Why? If they were after you then... W-wait, it couldn't be because of what I did to Cole. I can't believe they'd... There's just no... way..." A feeling of despair washes over Nicas as he realizes what must be happening. He lets go of Kirik, suddenly feeling a bit weak.. "They're hunting us with micros... They're absolutely insane this is absolutely insane.." He shivers, clenching his eyes shut and moving to place a hand on the ground to help support his weight. "A-and the collars have bombs in them! What the hell? What.. What kind of monsters are they? How're we going to defend if another one attacks us? We only beat the raccoon out of luck! How could they do that? Why's this such a big fucking deal..." He growls, frustrated beyond rational thought for just a moment before he remembers Kirik next to him. The raccoon had suffered a much greater loss, after all. Nicas sighs, letting the fatigue take over again if only to keep him from his frustration. He puts on a brave face and moves to stand up again, looking at Kirik once more. Despite his injuries, he manages to stay on his feet. It's not clear whether it's because the injuries weren't so bad, or if he just wanted Kirik to be okay. "W-we'll figure it out..." He says gently, trying to quell his own fears. He reaches to grasp Kirik's hand so that they can continue. He can feel the raccoon sobbing, still, but he doesn't try and stop it. More than likely, Kirk needed it. He kind of needed it himself. "We'll find Serenity's package and we'll figure out what's happening from there. Serenity is really smart, she'll get us out of this before long. M-maybe she even has a plan already."

Kirik looks up at him after a while, eyes still red, fur still dampened from old tears. "My mom is still out there..." He says gently... "D-do you think Serenity could help her?"

"I..." Nicas frowns. "Well, we could ask her. Comeon, let's find what she hid for us and then we can find a way to ask her alright? But we can't stay here, we can't fight another battle like that..." He starts walking slowly, cringing as his stomach and back ache and remind him of his injuries. He works through it, though, helping Kirik along the rough terrain off to the side of the giants' path. He can't help but imagine being back at home, relaxing... even if it were in that damned cage.

As Nicas moves further, the area begins to smell strangely. "Eck, someone urinated..." Kirik cringes, and Nicas starts to walk perpendicular to his previous path to avoid it, his stomach was already in a sour mood.

"Wait.. " Nicas stops, sniffing at the air himself a few times, and frowning in thought. It may be urine, but it's also familiar. He turns, then begins to walk towards the smell. As it becomes stronger a grin forms on the wolf's muzzle. "Why're we going towards it?" Kirik moans while Nicas' tail wags quickly behind him.

"We found it."
