The results of Tirol's actions start to take affect and it makes him wonder who he could call friend at this point.

CHAPTER 10

The ever so deadly silence of the locker room caused a chill to run up Tirol's spine as he approached the lone locker located in the back, his footsteps continuing to echo throughout the room as he turned the corner for the isle. Ahead of him was a sight which was something Tirol expected, the locker having been ripped open the door hanging off its hinges with the lettering 'TRAITOR' etched into the metal looking like it had been cut with a knife by its rough edges.

Laying scattered across the floor and bench in front of him, he found the tattered and torn remains of his gear and mangled rifle strung apart in the worst shapes and forms. The rifle having been broken in half and battered about. Inside the locker, it looked like someone had taken a sword or knife to the inside ripping apart the pictures and gifts from Miri that he had gone about hanging up inside when he first got situated here.

What remained of the pictures lay thrown around outside and inside the locker, one picture lay nearby that drew his attention immediately as it spark a memory right off the bat that he found pleasant. Bending down, he scoped it up studying it with great care as it was at one point before being torn apart, a picture of him and Miri the day of their wedding both finely dressed looking happy & excited to start their new life together. After a brief few seconds, Tirol collapsed on to the bench behind him clutching the photo as it now only showed a smiling Miri as the tears began to flow freely once more as what could've been struck him hard with a life of uncertainty lay before him.

The dull sounds of approaching footsteps were lost to him until a thud appeared beside him got his attention back to the present. Looking up trying to cover up the tears, he found Mcich standing there holding a brand new 109 ready to go in one hand while a new set of gear for him in the other hand and by the looks of his face, Mcich may be the only friend that he had in the pack at that very moment. "Thought you could use these..."

"Thanks, boss." Tirol answered slipping the picture that he still clutched into his pocket before getting started on getting the gear put on.

"The word has spread throughout the grounds, Tirol...you may be walking out there with a target on your back." Mcich told him.

"I know but there's nothing that I can do about the situation but take It." he answered shaking his head. "What really got me is how the boss took it and treated me like the day that I came here with Miri...as a human that shouldn't be trusted."

"Dang, well its not going to get much easier, there are a ton of people looking for you and its not with hugs or kisses." Mcich said laying everything that was laying in wait for him out there.

"Great...can't get any better." Tirol said grabbing the new rifle checking it over to make sure that it was ready to go before slipping it behind his back getting to his feet. "Thanks for the heads up."

"Tirol, I am acting as your friend and fellow pack member...you can't go out there with people demanding your blood."

"I know however right now I can't risk being exiled from the pack...not if it means leaving Miri behind." Tirol said letting out a sigh. "She means a lot to me, and right now I got to do what I can to stay here."

Mcich looked at him in admiration for what his friend was willing to do. Pushing passes Mcich, Tirol continued on toward the exit. His feet aching with exhausting having never been really able to rest properly, with exhausting his eyes already heavy in need of sleep however, he had to continue on with the job. Stepping out the first sight was of the path that he knew that were the path for the patrol routes being clear which he took as a good sign as he continued on not trying to think about what awaited him ahead. The path that the guards usually took was directly into the forest so it did offer some chance of getting to the position without being caught.

As he needed the edge of the forest looking like, he wouldn't encounter any problems when the shout that he dreaded the most rang out. "There's the bastard! Get him!!" Almost immediately, the rocks and objects began coming in being thrown at him with several of them landing short or sailing over his head with the occasional stray hitting his leg(s) once or twice, as he moved forward with the crowd who was being lead by Jason, following behind him.

Lucky for him though is that Mcich stopped the crowd threatening to have them all locked up for disrupting the duties of a guard if they didn't disperse at the moment. Although the crowd showed that, they didn't like the idea of allowing Tirol to continue they respected the Leader of the pack guard in his judgment. As the group dispersed, Jason seemed to be the only person to remain behind, the evil glare in his eyes showed that he was a person to not listen to orders all the time.

"Disperse right now, Jason or you will be the next one to face the judgment of the boss!" Mcich growled the authority showing in both his voice and eyes. These two things caused Jason to back down although his eyes never losing the defiance look in his eyes and by the words that came out of his mouth that the pup had something indeed planned.

"You can't always be there to protect him, Mcich. When he is alone, the pack will have his vengeance!" Jason growled showing hardly any sign of respect for authority. This caused Mcich to wonder how the pup actually could avoid from being beat senseless by the Alpha for his arrogance.

"Watch you tone, pup! You are just a weakling compared to Tirol as he just continued on without responding to your threats! Now move out!" Mcich growled causing Jason to back down the kids eyes never leaving Mcich's until the pup bowed showing the respect before moving away.

Off to the side, Miri had appeared looking like she had been listening to what was being said a scowl look upon her face at the harsh feelings toward Tirol and Mcich. The way that Jason had talked to him, it showed signs that something was indeed planned something to keep in mind to look out for.

Before she could move toward Mcich to chat with him, she cringed when Jason his distasteful look upon his face turning to a smudge and evil one, caught sight of Miri did he quickly turn his attention to her. "Miri! Good to see that you are up and about even though still recovering from the terrible shock of finding the man that you considered a better mate than me humping away at a different pack's whore!"

"Watch it, Jason...Tirol may have made the mistake however he is still a lot better than you are." Miri answered showing that she still love Tirol even though she was still upset with him.

"Oh please! Keep dreaming if you think that the pack will ever truly accept that half breed into the pack as one of their own! You are risking a ton by continuing your hope that that mutt will be accepted...your favor...your place as the future Alpha of this pack...are you truly willing to accept the risk of losing all of them just to stay with that bastard?!" Jason challenged her throwing everything at her that normally would upset a regular pack member however, Miri had come to realize that she was indeed different.

"Compared to what he has more than what you have, Tirol is a lot more honorable person that I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with than I would be with you." she challenged before continuing toward Mcich who stood there making sure no one would follow Tirol. "Hey, Mcich how are you doing this morning?"

"Doing pretty well actually compared to Tirol. He is a wreck right now." he said shaking his head. "He is shaken pretty badly however he is tough that he won't back down from following your father's orders. He told me flat out that the only thing he is afraid of is losing you and being exiled meaning that he would probably lose you would cause him the greatest of pain."

~Oh, Tirol...~ she thought shaking her head as she turned her attention back toward the path where Tirol had disappeared up the trail. "He is pushing himself a lot harder than ever just because of the mistake that he had done."

"Aye, he is strong willed that no one seem to be able to break however when he saw that someone had ripped through his locker and pictures that he had in it. He had a picture of your two weddings that he kept your picture with him before moving out.

"I can tell that this day is going to be challenging for him." she muttered as she waved goodbye to her friend before starting off toward the gunnery range/hand to hand combat training area to think at least she was still going to have the day off but she always loved thinking while watching others train.

Finding the starting point for the patrol area, Tirol let out a final sigh before going about the normal routine of prepping the rifle making sure the first round was locked into place before allowing it to settle into a comfortable spot in his hands ready to draw it up if needed. With his mood still down, Tirol tried to avoid from allowing it to ruin the patrol. However, what was to happen that day as everything seemed quiet the occasional grunt from the sparring ring or the shot ringing out with the impact on the paper target seconds later.

Starting his gradual walk that would take him up along the path that became evident that the path was same place that he had been patrolling during the nighttime keeping its peace almost however the hostility that many of the pack members felt toward him didn't make the first walk any easier. It became apparent later on that something else was strange, was that there were any other guards that he could see walking the path. Cocking his ear into the direction of the wind that would usually would carry sounds and smells to the guards to allow them catch an intruder trying to come into the territory.

Taking in his surroundings carefully just as he reached the hilltop that sat next to the gunnery range, Tirol finally found that there was no signs of other guards around him...he was on his own out here. In that split second with the crack of a firing pin striking a bullet sending the deadly round spiraling out of the rifle sounded seconds before the first bullet struck his leg causing him to jerk violently as the bullet enter and left the flesh giving him a flesh wound.

His muscles that already burn from being tired shot up in intensity offered molten lava as the muscles began to grow limp as his leg seemed almost useless. Immediately his healing abilities began to start healing the wounds offering some relief until a second bullet ripped through his bicep causing it to jerk by the same impact as the bullet entered and left as the bullet took some muscle with it. Gritting his teeth as he dropped to the ground rolling away from the next coming round as it hit the dirt inches away from where he had been.

Up at the range after the rest of the class had stopped firing, Dominic had them cleaning up the rifles when the shots rang out causing him to jerk his head around looking for the people that were firing. Moving quickly down the line, he grabbed a hold of the two that had been firing by the back of the neck jerking them to their feet.

On closer look, he came to find himself staring at two people that he knew hung out with Jason being part of his gang. "What in the blue blazes are you idiots doing?! I ordered a ceasefire!"

"Calm down, boss...just thought we saw a intruder up on the path." one of the goons commented causing Dominic to look out toward the outer edge of the patrol path half expecting to see the unknown to find Tirol clutching at two wounds as he rolled away from the hill top.

"Bullshit! Get out of here you two!" Dominic called shoving them toward two senior pack members that weren't controlled by Jason. "Have them arrested for trying to murder a fellow pack member and call the pack's doctor, there's a guard that is injured."

"Yes, sir." the two called as Dominic moved over to Miri seeing her look up with concern on her face at the events going on.

"Tirol's under attack, he's injured!" Dominic said getting her to her feet knowing that of the events of what happened between the two this morning however Tirol need support and by Dominic's guessing the attacks weren't only restricted to guns. "Go get him and see if you can keep him alive until the doctor arrives."

Miri offered a nod as she charged off running at full sprint toward the forest aiming herself for a safe path that would take her well outside the possible firing range before taking on the wolf form to give her better chance of getting to Tirol before something terrible happened to him.

"Arrrgh!" Tirol cried as the sting of the razor sharp blade dug into his arm causing him to fall backward barely keeping his footing as he tried to gain some distance. He found his strength leaving him as his legs crumbled under him as he barely was able to block the next few attacks that Jason threw at him as he knocked the blade away bringing around the other blade catching Jason's wrist forcing his to drop the blade.

Tirol couldn't believe how many attacks the three had been sending his way, with it first starting off with missed targets on the firing range that ripped through his arm, lucky that it had missed in the first place or he wouldn't have lasted this long. It wasn't easy for him though, his body was exhausted having no break or hadn't slept for nearly 19 hours left him running on fumes when the first series of attacks came.

The first were bullets from the firing range that happened every once in a while and only when he had come to the border of the range. After a while, the class let out allowing him to continue on without any kind of trouble. After a while came stones thrown at, him before Jason and about six others showed up carrying clubs and blades looking menacing surrounding him. "Word has it that you and Miri had a little argument and may be breaking up." Jason commented stepping into the circle with an ugly grin on his face twirling a blade ready to strike.

"That has yet to be seen, punk!" Tirol said feeling blood slowly dribble out of the wounds having yet to heal without a proper meal of protein to help his body to seal the wounds properly.

"So you think that the pack is just going to let you get away with take one of our females as a mate and try to create a freak of nature with her. Then go about trying to rape another when you claim that you have no real interest in her at all...I guess its about time we taught you a lesson." Jason continued just barely allowing Tirol time to get ready before swinging the blade around aiming for hurting him further.

Now as he clung to awareness trying to keep himself aware of his surroundings, Tirol found his vision blurring from the loss of blood.

"How pitiful." Jason commented as strode forward drawing forth a blade that was specially designed for this task sharpened to a point ready to finish the job. Raising the blade above his head with his energy growing in his arms tension rising as he grew ready to slam the blade home when he was hit from behind with the blade thrown from his grasp. The others looked surprised as they were facing a quickly opponent that continued to outsmart and out maneuver them as they tried to defend themselves from attacks. Nevertheless, within minutes all six were on the ground withering in great pain after being hit by massive form.

Jason, with a broken jaw and cracked ribs his right eye already started to swell up from the trauma inflicted upon looked up as he caught sight of his attacker. His eyes widen as he saw who it was as he couldn't believe his misfortune. "Miri-"

The massive wolf snarled at him hitting him again across his skull completely knocking him out leaving Miri standing there panting and heaving as she made sure that the goons were completely out before turning back to where Tirol lay. Obviously, in pain his wounds haven't quite healed if he had the proper food to allow his metabolism to work was on the verge of shock from the blood loss and pain.

With her emotions running wild ranging from confusion and worry about her mate, Miri shrugged it off as she moved over to him bending down giving him a series of licks and nudges as if a sign to hang on. A shout from nearby caused her to turn around to find a medical team came forward already to take care of his wounds. Miri hesitated for a few minutes wanting to stay however, she needed to talk with her father because if he was allowing things like this to happen he was allowing to happen something must be troubling him.
