Chatper two

Tyron finish up with his gear check, looking over at the other two. Who also seem to have gotten everything they need and are ready to head out. "Well if you're ready to go let's head out, Sauran please open the portal to the dessert world." Tyron says as he looks between the two then looks at Sauran to make sure he heard the question. They both nod as they move over to get ready to head to the other world, "alright Sauran open the portal and keep an eye on us." He says as he joins the other two in front of the portal. There is a sound of the portal begins to open the blue line appears then turn into a blue portal before it opens into the dessert planet. Tyron pulls his hood up, and then pulls his goggles down over his eyes. Pulling the scarf up over his muzzle, cloaking himself he begins to step into the other world. Stepping into the other world, he notices the wind seems to have stop for a few. He turns to look at the other two as they get themselves covered up and make their way onto the world. As they step through the portal, it closes behind them leaving no trace of the portal. The heat from the dessert hit them all, but it not so bad with the dessert gears their wearing. Right as the portal closes a gust of wind hits them all almost knocking them over. Tyron growls at the wind as he motions for them to head forward. Sauran works on helping them through the sand storm, which has made seeing next to nothing. After about an hour and half of pushing through the storm, they can start to make out the out lines of ruins. It takes them another thirty minutes of them fighting against the wind for them to reach one of the buildings. The building blocks the wind, but at the same times the wind makes a loud whistling sound.

While at the same time you can hear this loud moaning sounds coming from around them. The sound causes them shiver as it sound like some undead monster roaming in the ruined buildings. They all look into the windows almost expecting some undead monster to jump out at them. But even with the creepy sounds coming from the buildings they look for and open windows in which to enter. As the wind blown sand is a lot worse than any sound being made by the wind blowing thought holes. Finding an open window they make their way into the ruin building, once in side they look around. They notice that it seem that this might have been and office building at one time before it was left to the wind.

As they step into the building they can hear the wind howling into the hole. The sound sends a shiver up their spine as the sound is like that of some predator howling a lot losing it prey. Putting his goggles on his head, he looks around the partly sand filled room. At the far end of it is a doorway leading into the darkness and the unknown. Reaching into his bag pulling out a flashlight, turning it on he turns to see the others doing the same, once ready, they start to move deeper into the building. Shining his light at the door, they begin to make their way out into the dark hallways. "Sauran you still receiving my signal," Tyron asks as he speaks into his mic, Zen shines his flashlight around the ruins. Devlin looks around as the wind keep howling and almost sounding like to growling at the fact it can't reach them like it was. Devlin turn from the windows behind them to flash his light down the dark hallway.

There is no reply for close to a minute then he hears the saurian sound voice reply. "Yes I can still read you, would you like me to start recording your findings?" Sauran asks, as he works on mapping out their location, with a few second he begin to make a map of where they're at. While at the same time he works on trying to map out the building there standing in.

Tyron looks down the hallway as he wonders what might be hiding in the dark. The dark is so dark that it almost swallows the light from the flashlights. "Yes I would like you to start recording this; it might come in handy later for if someone wants to explore this planet some more. The doorways seem to be build for people standing somewhere around seven feet to eight foot judging by the height of the doorways. We are in what I would guess to be an office building, so far I haven't seen anything that can tell us how advanced they might have been." Tyron says as they head down the hallway both Zen and Devlin looking into what looks like cubicles. Finding nothing of use they keep moving deeper into the building, coming across a big empty room they step into it. Looking around the room a bit confused at why there would be nothing here. Shrugging his shoulder Tyron kneels down by his sled, as he looks around the room figures this is a good a camp as any. "So what do you guys think this look like a good place for camp?" he says as he looks around the room still a bit confused on why there nothing in this room. He looks at the other two who seem to be thinking the same thing he is. And that is why is there nothing here, what was this room used for. Give a bit of a shrug he looks over the gear in his bags.

Devlin shrugs a bit as he looks around the large room, "looks like a good place to me. And it's close to the place we came in so we can get out easy if we need to." Devlin says as he take a quick look around with his flashlight again, seeing nothing bit a big empty room that seem to echo when they talk. He kneels down. Opening his bags he begins to look thought his stuff.

Zen shuffles through his bags as he looks over both Devlin and Tyron. "This seems like a safe enough place for camp, we can explore the rest of the buildings from here." Zen says, as his voice echo off the wall of the room, his voice mixed with the faint sound of the wind. Cause his voice he have a weird sound to it as it bounces back at them. Reaching into his bag he pulls out a small lamp, turning it on, the darkness seem to crawl away from them. Almost as if the light was causing it pain, Tyron watches this, he raise an eye ridge as he figure it just the light playing tricks on him.

Tyron pulls a lamp just like Zen's; within a few minutes, they got the place lit up bright enough to be able to see around the room easily. Tyron pulls out a full size air mattress along with an air pump, after a few minutes he got it fully pumped up. Pulling out the rest of the bedding he works on getting the bed-sit up, putting his pillow on it, he waits for the other to do it. Zen seeing the bed set up walks over putting his pillow on the bed then goes back to working looking through the rest of his gear. Devlin follows him as he pulls his pillow out of his pack. About a half hour later they got their camp set up, a place to sleep a small heater to help make sure the room stays warm at night. Along with a cooking stove for when they need to fix dinner. Tyron goes back to his bags, reaching into the bag he pulls out a scanner along with a couple other things. He sticks them into a smaller easier to carry pack, he looks over at the other two notice them digger thought their own bag. He notice everyone once in a while they look up from their bag as they wind make a weird noise. The sound almost makes you think their something or someone hiding in the darkness just waiting for the lights to go out. Tyron shakes his head as he knows there nothing in the dark, but the sounds and the darkness can play tricks on your mind. Standing up again he looks over himself and notice he is cover in sand again, but this time he doesn't have the sand in place he could do with out it being. Giving a bit of a stretch he looks down at the other two still getting everything set up.

Tyron looks across the large room, he notices that there two doors at the other side of the space. He turns back to look at the two getting ready, "so you guys ready to head out there and explore this place?" Tyron asks, as he looks over at the two finishing up with putting their gear into the smaller bags.

Zen looks up at Tyron as he zips up his bags, "I'm ready to go whenever you two are," Zen says as he stands up looking at the doors to the room. He then looks and notices there is two other doors to the room, shifting his gaze from the door to Tyron. He wonders if maybe he got a plan to make it easier for them to explore this building.

Devlin looks around the room as he closes up his bag; he sees the two other doorways at the far side of the room. He wonders where they might go to and if maybe they might lead to some place that might give them an idea of who used to live here. "Ready to go if you got a plan for what we should do now that we're in this place." Devlin says as he slides his pack over his cloak deciding it might come in handy later. He thinks about maybe heading thought one of those doorways to see where they might go.

Tyron looks at them both then looks around the room again. "Well the best plan of action I can see at this point is for each of us to take a different area of the building. We got our headsets on if we find anything we can get a hold of each other and I'm sure Sauran can help us find you. This way we can cover more ground more quickly, plus we need to find a way down the ground level of this building. Or I should say what ground level that was here for when the building was built. Once we get to the ground floor we should see if there is any way to get out of this building or is the sand all around it. I figure we could search around for a few hours then come back here have dinner look over our findings then get some sleep and get another start in the morning." Tyron says slipping his pack onto his back, he looks at the two then starts to walk for the door. Reaching it, he stops as he looks to make sure the other two agree with this plan. He notices that both of them have followed him to one of the doors so he figures they like the plan.

Once in the hallway they all look around with their flashlights, "I think I'll go left here." Devlin says as he pulls out his scanner and begin to takes some readings as he walks down the hallway. He uses his light to look into the dark hall; he looks behind him and notices they seem to have been swallowed by the darkness in the room.

Tyron watches as Devlin head down the hallway with a few steps he seems to be swallowed by the darkness of the building. "Alright I'll head down the right here and see if I can't find away down." Tyron says as he shines his light down the hallway, he looks over the walls as he walks, he notice another light behind him for a bit of Zen.

Zen notice another doorway, he shine his light down what looks like another hallway. "I'm going to head off down this hall here and see if I can find anything." Zen says as he makes a right at the first hallway the come to. Tyron nods to him as he pulls out his scanner and begins to take readings. After a short walk, he stops as he takes his pack off his shoulder. Sitting it on the ground he digs through it until he find a small strap, pulling it out he works on using it to hook the flash light to his arm to give him another free hand. Putting his bag back onto his back he starts walking down the hallway again using his arm light to check into the different room. He finds it odd that he sees nothing that look like any kind of technology in any of the rooms. Coming to the end of the hall he notices something that looks like an elevator, looking around and finds that there are no buttons to make it work. He scans the elevator looking for any kind of buttons, not finding any he figure when it had power. It would work by someone walking up to it; the elevator would scene the person walking up to it. It would then open, so if there is not button on the inside it most has been voice active. Finishing with his readings, he flashes his light around as he looks for another way to get to the ground floor. Noticing a door, a few feet away he walks over in hopes that these people still used stairs in the buildings. Opening the door he notices a stair well, stepping into it he looks down at what looks like a staircase goes on forever. He sighs softly as he shakes his head figures this might take a while, turning he notices some odd looking writings on the wall.

Tyron reaches up and stretches his head, as he can't make head or tails of this writing on the wall. "Sauran can you tell me what this means or do you need some kind to key?" he asks as he studies the writing a bit more before he turns looking around at the other walls trying to see if he can find anymore. Seeing nothing but blank wall he turn back looking at the strange writing on the wall.

Sauran looks over the information that is being sent his way. "It's going to take me some time to see if I can't translate this with any luck you'll be able to find some more writing to give me a base to work from. I'll go through the known language we have already and see if I can find something close." Sauran says, as he notices the mic seems to turn off, he begins going through all the languages trying to find something close. Turning from the odd-looking marks, he begins to make his way down the set of stairs. After what seem like hours, he reaches what he guesses to be the ground floor, as there only seems to be two more floors below him. As he went down the stairs, he made sure to scan all the odd-looking markings found in hope of understanding what they mean. Walking over to the door, he steps out into what looks to be a large lobby, he flashes the light around as he looks to get a better feel for the space. Sure enough, it seems to be the lobby of the building but unlike upstairs, there is no sand down here. Shining the light around he notices just like the rest of the building all the technology is missing, the only thing that seems to be left are the lights in the ceiling, he shakes his head as he walks up to the recipients desk area at the front of the lobby. He notices that there is some more writing around here, using his scanner he makes sure Sauran gets a copy of this I might help him unlock the language.

He turns using his light to pierce the darkness around him it an eerie silence that you would almost expect to hear in a horror movie. Like right before the killer sneaks up on you and drives the eleven-inch blade through your back. He shakes his head as he works to get the dark thought out of his head as he looks into the darkness. With a sigh he heads for the front door to the building. He notices something a bit odd that the door was smashed by something coming into the building. He looks around at some of the other glass and notices they seem to be ok just the doors are broken. Shaking his head, he steps out into the darkness of the street. Tyron shines his light around, he watches, as the darkness seems to eat the light as he goes out into the dark void. Walking down what seems to be a sidewalk he notices the people who build this must have been advanced, but there seems to no sign of any kind of high tech, which seems a bit odd, it's almost as if someone came along and took it all way. The saurian uses his scanner to record all that he sees as the walks in the lonesome darkness. The air seems a bit cool but there does not seem to be any real moister in the air, it's a dry coolness likes nothing he ever felt before. Walking down the road a bit more he hears a soft beep in his earpiece. "Go ahead," he says as he waits to see who beeped him and what they might need.

Sauran keep reading and scanning over all the data that he sending him to check out. He has been working to piece this odd puzzle together. "It's Sauran; I'm picking up a very faint energy reading just up the road from you in one of the buildings on your left. You can't miss it from the scan I've taken; it seems that it might have been a café or something like that." Sauran says as he works on mapping a map of what seem to have been a city at one time. That also seems to be for some reason either under ground or buried in the sand.

Tyron look up and down the sidewalk as he wonders why there is not tech in the area. "Understood, I'm heading over there now." He says as he uses his flashlight to see if he can see the shop in question from where he is. The saurian sighs softly as he notices he can't see but a few feet in this gloomy darkness. Even with a semi high-powered light, the darkness just seems to eat up the light as he tries to see through it. Shaking his head he keeps walking down the sidewalk, he comes across the building Sauran was talking about, he flashes his light around as he notices it seem something all but ripped the doors off this building too. Stepping into the shop he notices shards of glass on the inside of the café and points his light to the window next to the entrance to find what looks like someone threw something inside or someone jumped through it, as if chasing someone. Tyron uses his scanner to find the faint power source; the scanner shows it to be on the far side of the room so he makes his way over there. Once he gets close he notices a small disc on the table, he picks it up; it is about two inches across by about an inch in height. Sitting it back down, he takes a few scans of it before putting the scanner down before picking the disc up again. He begins to look over it to see if there is some way of turning it on, he notices a small button on the side and pushes it, as he does a hologram appears above the disc. He sets the disc down, the figure of what he guesses to be a young looking humanoid male lizard. He is wearing what looks like a robe with a hood, as he speaks he motions with his hands. He has greenish color skin with blue eyes. "Sauran have you figure out the language yet?" he asks as he watches the figure, listening to him speak but having not idea what it is he is saying. He takes a sit at the table as he just watches his actions and hopes to figure some of what he is saying.

Sauran watching and listens to what the hologram got to say as he works on trying to understand what being said "No but if you keep that playing it, I think I can translate their language it will take a few but hearing them talk is a lot easier to find a close match." He says, going quit he listen to everything the male got to say, along with he hand movement and face movements. He goes thought all his language files trying to find something that is close to what this one is.

"Understood", he says as he thinks every once in a while he can almost make out a word or two. He shakes his head softly as he uses his flashlight to look around the room. The café looks very much like a café you would see back on his home world. He shivers a little, as he can almost hear the people still moving around in this room. He blinks a few times then turns back to look at the hologram.

As the message reset he notices he can understand what the person is saying to him. "The year is 2015 I'm not sure if anyone will ever get this message but I'm going to try and leave a message behind for those to know what happened to us. I don't know if anyone will ever find this message but if some brave soul does here's our story. It only started about a year and a half ago; there was some kind of explosion on the far side of the planet. The explosion sent a shock wave around the planet causing our atmosphere to change to the odd-looking yellow you see now. No one really noticed anything wrong at first but with the first few weeks after the explosion people started to notice it was getting hotter. The government tried to cover it all up saying there was no explosion there was nothing wrong. Then after about six months, most of the plants and animal life around the planet began to die off in masses. For some unknown reason whatever was killing the plants and animals doesn't seem to have any effect on us, which was a good and bad thing as it soon turns out. Another six months later is when the water all over our world started to run out, we noticed it did not rain as much and it got to the point where even the oceans were drying up. With our water supply starting to run low people began to fight each for water. Things turned from bad to worse as wars began to break out over the remaining water. That is when someone in the government came up with the idea to make a computer system to help govern over the remaining water.

That seemed like a good idea at first, the fighting stopped but it took a while. Things were going great for about a year then people started noticing odd things. At first people really thought nothing of it but then it got worse. It started out with the computers and other small thing disappearing. Then large pieces of technology began to disappear. That's when the horrors began, people started disappearing during the night; no one really had any idea what might have happened to them. Then we learned what happened to them, our computer system that was meant to watch over our water supply went mad. It started out small with drones attacking people, but then it grew into bigger robots and then to our horror we saw our own people attacking us. Only they were now part robot; the computer turned them into weapons to use against us. We have been battling the computer now for over two years, there are very few of us left. We have one last plan that might end up saving those who are left. I can't say what this plan will be; all I can say is look for us deep in the halls of the dead." after one more pass of the message he reach over and turn it off. He picks up the disk looking at it as he wonders what happened to the person who recorded the message.

Putting the disk down he looks around the room as he can still feel that feeling of people roaming the room. Like the ghosts of the past haven't been able to rest so they roam looking for what they lost. "I hope you got all that in case this disk stop working on us, right now this is the only record that seems to be left on this world of the people." he says as he set the disk down on the table again, he looks around the room and think about going out exploring again. He shakes his head as it hard to believe that a computer could go crazy on them and start turning everyone into cyborgs. He then starts to wonder if maybe his own A.I. could go crazy like this one did and begin to transformer everyone into cyborgs.

Sauran looks over the recording once last time to make sure he got it all. "Yes I got it all translated. I'm going over it as we speak to see if I can figure the written language using this." He says as he turns of the mic, he run over the data one more time to make sure that he got everything right. Some where deep with the dead city come a low growling sound. It seems to echo off the empty buildings. Along with the low growling second the low sounds of metal claws sliding across metal and be heard light echoing around. If you didn't know what it was you might think it just the wind echoing again thought the empty streets.

Zen roams down the hallway checking all the rooms as he goes. Coming to the end of the hallway, he notices a door with some writing beside it. Scanning the door, he pulls his pack off his back as he reaches into his pack, pulls out a coalmines type flashlight and puts the band around his head as he turns it on. Putting his hand held light back into his pack he puts the backpack onto his back as he opens the door. Stepping onto the stairwell, he looks down at what seem like endless miles of darkness both up and down. Heading down the stairs, he shines his light over the wall looking for anymore writing. He notices that there are some red spots on the wall that almost look like it might be blood. He notices that blood seem to be dry on the wall and has been that way for a long time. He looks down at the stairs as he sees what seems to be a trail of blood running down the stairs. Following the tail to the floor below he notices a body lying there. Walking up to the body he kneels down beside it, he run his scanner over the body in hopes of getting some more information on the race that used to live here. All that remains is the skeleton of the lizard; he is wearing what looks to be some kind of jump suit. Zen sighs as he looks at the body noticing a good size whole through the jump suit right about where the heart might have been.

He stands up again as he knows there nothing he can do for the poor soul lying before him. Walking down the stairs, he steps on some broken glass lying on the stairs. Taking a few more steps, the human notices what seem to be piece of metal laying about the steps just below him. He runs his scanner over it as he notices the metal seem to have pieces of organic material on attached to it. He scratches his head as he tries to figure out what could this be from. Shaking his head softly he keeps walking down the stairs as he can't help but get the feeling something or someone is watching him, every once in a while he turns to look over his shoulder and shivers a bit as the darkness begin to play tricks on him. He sighs softly as he reaches to the lobby floor; opening the door he steps out into the large area. As he does, he looks behind himself one more time to make sure the body of the lizard is not following him. He almost lies to himself as he thinks the dead might be walking and coming after him. As he walks, he noticed the blood trail going across the floor again heading out into the front of the building. As he follows it, he notices it stops just short of the broken doors. He looks around a bit and notices a set of what looks like fresh saurian prints leading out of the building. Feeling a bit unease from being alone in the darkness, after finding the body he quickly makes his way out of the building. Reaching sidewalk, Zen sighs softly as he begins to scan again looking to see if he can find anything else of use. As he looks down at the dust on the ground and notices at what looks like spots of red hidden in the dust. Shake his head he works on not thinking about what happened to cause the blood to be there. Following the footprints he notices they lead into a building that looks like a café. Seeing Tyron sitting by a table seeming to study something, Zen makes his way over to him. Tyron's ears twitch a bit at hearing someone; he quickly reaches to his left hip. Pulling off his blaster, he turns pointing it at Zen who quickly put his hands up.

Zen stands with his hand up in the air, his eyes wide as he first looks at the blaster then at the rex holding it. "Don't shoot it only me," he looks a little worried about having a gun point at him, that and remembering all the blood he seen make him wonder if maybe this place has gotten to him.

Tyron looks at Zen as he looks a bit uneasy, or that something is bugging him. "Sorry this darkness has a way of making someone a little jumpy." He says, slowly putting his blaster back into it holder. He keeps his eyes on Zen for a second then turns back to look at the disc sitting on the table. "I found this it's a message here in what looks to be a café; I'll show it to you once we make it back to camp. I guess since you found me here Devlin well sooner or later end come here as well." He says as he watches Zen pull out one of the chair around the table. Dusting it off he takes a sit as he looks at the disc Tyron playing with. He looks over at Zen with a bit of a smile, he hand the disc over to him to study.

Zen takes the disc from him, "Well I found one of the people who lived here; well I should say what was left of him." Zen says as he updates his findings into Tyron scanner so he can read over them. Tyron begins to look over the data as Zen begins to study the disc Tyron handed him.

Devlin walks down the hallway, finds much like everyone else, a whole lot of nothing but dust. Finding the door to the stairs, he opens it, stepping in he uses his flashlight to look around a bit. He sniffs the air and notices a weird smell almost like something had died long ago. He shivers a bit at the smell while trying to see into the dark void that seems to want to swallow him up. Walking down the stairs, he notices some of the red spot on the stairs. Then on about the third landing down he comes across a large blood simmer on the wall that looks like someone slid down the wall. He shivers a bit as he feels the darkness starting to play tricks on the dragon. Slowly he makes his way down the hallway as he looks around with his flashlight in one hand and his scanner with the other. Walking down a few more flights of stairs, he starts to notice a weird smell as he comes around the next landing and finds out what it was the hard way. As he steps onto the landing, he bumps into the hand of one of the lizard people who seem to have been hanging upside down. The rope or whatever that had been holding the body up seems to have weakened over the years of hanging. Devlin feels something brush against him; he turns just in time to have the body come falling down on top of him. The body and Devlin end up crashing to the floor of the landing.

He lets out his roar like scream as he works on getting out from under the body. Once free, he looks at it and notices that it has been dead for years and that most of the skin seems to be missing from the body. What left looks like some kind of metal, the bone is fused with this odd looking metal. In place where the skin would have been is the same thing this weird looking metal. Reaching down he grabs his scanner from where it drops to the floor when they end up crashing down. He looks over at the light lying on the ground, picking it up also. He begins to run scans over the body trying to figure out what it is. As he finishes up a cold shiver runs down the length of his spine, he quickly runs down the stairs trying to get away from the creepy body. Reaching then he run out and slides to a stop as he turn looking back at the door. He stands there for a few as he works on trying to figure out if the body is coming after him or not. He stands there as he works on catching his breath; he looks around at the darkness as he wonders if maybe there is something else in the darkness. He stands there for a few, as it seems the darkness itself is trying to eat him; he decides it is time to move. Walking across the lobby, he notices the footprints of both a saurian and a raptor. Figuring if he follows them he will run into them somewhere out in the dark abyss. Walking over to the door, he looks a bit puzzled at first at what might have done this, and then he remembers the body. Shaking his head, he works to put that thought of the body falling on him out of his head. Stepping out onto the sidewalk, he looks down following the footprints. Every once in a while he shines his light around as he can't help but feel there something watching in the darkness. Walking a bit faster he finds that the tracks seem to lead into what one could call a café. Stepping inside he notices the light of the two he was looking for at a table on the other side of the room.

Tyron's ears twitch as he hears the sound of feet coming his way, he starters to reach for his blaster but stops as he notice they sound a lot like dragon feet. He turns to look at the door to the café as he sees Devlin walking in looking a bit unnerved. Shining his light around the room, he makes his way over to the two of them, pulling out a chair he sits down. "You look like you ran into a ghost, what happened to you?" Tyron asks as he notices the poor dragon seem to be shaking a little from what happened. He shine his light behind wonder what he might have saw in the darkness that got him so shaken.

Devlin blinks a couple times as he works on straightening out his thoughts. "A ghost no but I did have what I would guess to be a cyborg lizard fall on top of me on the way here. It was in the stairwell that I was walking down; it has been dead for a long time. But still having a dead body fall on you is enough to make everyone a bit uneasy." Devlin says as he looks between the two as he waits to see if they are going to start laughing at this. He almost notices that Tyron doesn't seem to surprise at the sound of a cyborg lizard.

Tyron looks at the disc for a couple, and then looks back at Devlin. "Hmmm well I guess it true about the cyborgs then; I got a message from the people who used to live here. It's on this disc I show you once we back at camp I feel a bit uneasy being out in the open likes this." He says as he turns looking around the room using his light also because he too gets the feeling their being watched from the darkness. No matter how hard they try it seems that the light only goes so far before being eaten up by the darkness.

Zen looks around the darkness using his light to try to break the darkness. "I for on am ready to get out of this darkness, we can go over the data we collected so far. Then we can work on figuring out what our next move might be. By the looks of thing people were killed and it wasn't a quick death either. After some of the stuff I've seen this place make me uneasy, I'm ready to head back to the camp." He looks into the darkness and he can hear that wind howling softly through the streets. It makes him feel a bit uneasy as if something is going to jump out of the shadows at him.

Tyron looks around as he hears that weird sounding howl coming from the streets. The sound of the wind or whatever it might be out there sends a shiver up his spine. "Sound like a plan to me, this place is making me a bit jumpy and that is not easy too do." He says as he stands up he shine the light around the room trying to make out anymore deals on the room their standing in. he motions for them to follow him, making their way to the door. He looks up and down the sidewalk, not seeing anything they being to make their way back to their camp.
