I would like to formally apologize to EVERYONE who has followed this series for my prolonged absence. My new job has been VERY demanding as of late and I've simply been TOO exhausted to write. Not to mention I've had some writer's block as well. No matter though. I'm getting back into the swing of things and will hopefully be updating much more frequently until I finish the last several chapters. Sorry once again and thank YOU ALL so very very much for following my humble little tale. I love you all. ;)

CHAPTER 15

Swiftly making her way to the courtyard with her lunch tray in paw, Harvy was startled by the sight that greeted her. There was Gar, sitting beneath the tree, his lunch ignored in favor of his leather bound journal and a distant look present in his ethereal eyes. Usually he would delight in surprising her in some way or another and the fact that he hadn't caused the young wolf further worry. What could be troubling him? Gently shaking her furred head to clear it, she quickly padded over to her destracted mate. Gar looked up in mild surprise as he heard the lithe young wolf slowly approaching him. The concerned frown on her face was immediately evident, drawing out one of his own. He had done it again. Crap. He'd promised himself he wouldn't dwell on that dream...Now he was worrying the totem who had come to mean so very much to him. Sighing in self disappointment, the avian teen shook his head and quickly stood up. Harvy gasped in surprise as he swiftly approached her and enveloped her in a warm, tender embrace.

For a moment she stopped breathing and just stood there feeling his warmth spread through her. Finally she took a deep breath, inhaling his intoxicating scent, her eyes closing as she sighed dreamily and snuggled into the soft downy feathers of his neck. Numerous loud whispers could be heard around the intimate couple now, but at that moment, Harvy couldn't give a damn if the whole world were on fire. Eventually it came to an end and they parted with deep contentment evident in their expressions. Harvy stared with wide eyes, the warm amber asking a silent question. Gar let out a sigh as a look of guilt crossed his features. "I'm so sorry for worrying you 'Dire Wolf'...Something IS troubling me...But it is abstract in nature I can safely assure you...with no possible credence in the physical realm..." The wolf's eyes grew wider but she smiled sadly and nodded in understanding. "Okay Gar...you can tell me about it whenever you want to. I'm always here for you too...okay?" Pure love and adoration filled the raven's smile as he nodded sweetly before nuzzling her intimately once more.

Harvy sighed in deep contentment. "I love you Gar..." Gaea how liberating it felt for her to say those magic three little words.Gar released whe wolf from his embrace and gazed deeply into her warm amber pools which bore into ethereal blue. "And I love you...with every tangible and abstract facet of my existence..." Harvy felt tears welling up and quickly covered them by burrying her face in his neck again. His arms wrapped gently around her slender form, soon followed by familiar white wings...

Much of the lunch period that day was lost within the warm embrace of the two new lovers. They were so lost within each other's spell, they hardly noticed the time...or the numerous gawking, gobsmacked totems murmuring excitedly around them...and they had to scarf down as much of their lunch as they could manage within the last few minutes before the bell. Harvy felt much calmer as the rest of the day progressed. Whatever had been troubling Gar seemed to be forgotten, at least for now...

The final bell ripped Harvy from her silent reverie with all the subtlety of an anvil on the head. She let out an indignant groan before realising the day was in fact over. As this knowlege dawned on her she yipped in joy as she rushed to gather her books and race down the hall to find Gar. Finally...She would have some alone time with him as his...mate...her heart raced at the thought...Gaea...she was so ecstatic it seemed pathetic. With a thousand kilowatt smile she charged down the hall and out the front doors. Her amber orbs darted about wildly before locking onto a familiar iridescent white form. There was Gar casually leaning against the wall by the doors as he always did, unaware of her presence due to the notebook he currently had his alabastor beak stuck in. The mischievous young wolf smiled a wicked smile as she slowly crept up to the unsuspecting avian, with a cute little wag in her tail and rump as she did so...

Gar let out a sigh of frustration as he poured over his despicably disorganized notes from that day's math lesson. He could not figure out how he'd managed to miss an entire chapter's worth of notes. Oh well, he'd still be able to figure out the homework but it would be very tedious and time consuming... Suddenly he became aware of a shadow looming over him. Looking up in mild surprise, he barely let out a startled 'Eep!' of shock before a familiar lithe, black, furry form collided with him in a full body hug. The wall behind him kept him upright as a black furred muzzle collided with his beak, the nimble tongue within expertly gaining entry. The stunned avian's eyes widened in shock before slowly closing as a feeling of intense pleasure took hold of his rigid form. After a long while the young wolf finally withdrew from her her cunning 'attack.'

Gar stared up at the grinning she wolf before him in confusion. Harvy giggled nervously as she untangled her legs from Gar's waist and eased her foot paws onto solid ground. Her ears flattened and she looked away in slight embarassment but clearly no regret. "Sorry Gar...I couldn't wait..." She shot him a sultry look before grinning slightly. Gar continued to stare for an awkward few minutes before chuckling nervously as he ran his talon through the feathers of his neck. "I suppose I can forgive you...this once..." He said sarcastically and in good humor. Harvy beamed and glomped him in a hug once more, nuzzling the feathers beneath his chin and giggling sweetly. "Gaea Gar! You're just TOO cute..." Gar returned the hug with a nervous chuckle as he glanced around at all the flabbergasted totems staring in their direction.

Noticing this, the young wolf quickly grabbed his talon and pulled him away from the school. She slowed down to a casual pace as they rounded the corner and met the sidewalk which would guide them to their respective homes. Harvy timidly ruffled her neck fur as she glanced nervously at Gar. With a look of conviction she let out a sigh. "Umm...Gar?" He tilted his head to show he was listening. She smiled sweetly at the familiar gesture. "You really are TOO cute when you do that Gar...I've always thought so..." A look of emberassment crossed his features but he smiled. "You have a number of traits that qualify as well 'Dire Wolf.' " He said challengingly. Playing along, she grinned mischievously, slinking behind him and tightly pressing herself against the pearl wings folded at his back. She pressed her chest forward as she lay her head on his left shoulder speaking huskily into his ear with what she hoped was a seductive tone. "Oh? And just what about me do you find cute?" She finished with a sultry lick to his beak.

Gar couldn't supress a shudder as that oh so SEDUCTIVE and husky tone filled his feathered head. Gaea...did she even REALISE how alluring she could be when she really worked at it? Apparently she did... "Now YOU know how it feels..." She said with a smirk. Gar looked at her in puzzlement. "You really have NO idea just how amazingly sexy your voice is do you Gar? Or how incredibly arousing it is when you whisper into my ear with that oh so sexy voice?" Gar slowly shook his head 'no.' He had no idea where the she wolf's sudden boldness had come from, but Gaea help him...he liked it... She chuckled in bemusement. "That doesn't surprise me Gar...From the moment I met you you've always been blissfully unaware of just how damn HOT you are..." The avian's eyes widened again. Who was this SEDUCTRESS who so suddenly appeared before him? He'd had NO idea Harvy had felt that way about him for so long.

"So?" Gar was shaken out of his reverie by the young wolf's querie. "So what do you find so cute about me Gar?" He chuckled nervously and swung her around to his front so that she was now facing him. He moved his face so close to hers that his beak brushed against her muzzle. Instantly her ears lay flat and an intense heat rushed to her face as she stared into his ethereal blue pools, shuddering at his touch. Gar grinned. This was better. This was the 'Dire Wolf' that he loved and Gaea help him it pleased him to know that HE had returned her to that state. "It's a list actually..." Harvy quirked a brow. "...A list?" She squeaked in a small voice. Gaea she was cute. He nodded with a smile. The suddenly shy wolf's eyes widened as she silently urged him on. With another chuckle, Gar obliged. "It's cute when you become flustered and flatten your ears..." Harvy blushed and looked away. Gar chuckled and lifted her chin to meet her gaze again. "...Just like that..." He said, indicating her now flattened ears. She stuck her tongue out at him, making him laugh before continuing. "...It's cute when you wag your tail when your excited...just like a puppy...and have no idea you're doing it..."

Harvy gulped and blushed again. This was mortifying but somehow...very sweet...and it made her smile warmly, thrilled to no end that Gar had taken note of such things. Simple though it may be, it expressed to her just how close they really were...and had always been. "...It's cute when you shake out you're fur when you're wet..." She winced at the memory...mentally smacking herself for letting him see that. "...It's cute when you pant on hot days..." Her blush deepened. She had no idea he'd noticed that emberassing little habit. "...It's cute when your tongue hangs out ever so slightly when you smile a truly happy smile..." She went pale. She didn't even know she did that... "...You're...adorable Harvy..." He finished with a smile so warm, so filled with unconditional love, she felt her knees go week. Luckily he held onto her tightly. He leaned in close and whispered huskily into her ear. "I love you Harvy..." Her breath caught in her throat as a shiver traveled down her spine. "Gaea Gar...only you can do that to me...I love you so damn much..."

He beamed at her before nervously leaning in. She caught his beak with her muzzle halfway, licking at it tenderly until he parted to allow her access. Their tongues met in another passionate embrace as they channeled all of their love into the heated kiss. Finally after several moments they parted, both gasping for air. With a truly contented sigh, Harvy snuggled against Gar's chest, nuzzling the soft downy feathers of his neck with a happy mur of pleasure. Gar smiled tenderly down at her as he gently ruffled her head fur. After a moment he broke the comfortable silence. "...*Ehem*...Harvy?" She looked up with dreamy eyes. "Yes Gar?" He smiled lovingly. "We seem to have gone off on a tangent there...You started to ask me something?" She blinked. Suddenly realization dawned on her and she smacked her head with a laugh. "Oh yeah...duh!" Gar chuckled with her as he politely waited for her question. She smiled warmly and nuzzled him again. "I was going to ask how you felt now that we're...you know...together like this...but I think I already have my answer..."

Gar looked deeply into her eyes...ethereal blue piercing the veil of warm amber. "I have not and never will love anyone as I love you..." Harvy stopped walking and stared back at him with wide eyes before throwing herself into his arms once again. "I don't know what I did to deserve you Gar...you're incredible..." He tenderly stroked her head fur once more. "My exact thoughts 'Dire Wolf.' " She beamed at him before backing away from his embrace and wiping away some tears of happiness which had escaped. They resumed a relaxed pace and walked in a blissful, companionable silence for a while. They came to a stop as a familiar dirt path came into view. Harvy looked over at Gar with thinly veiled sadness in her eyes. "So...this is where you part...right?" Gar returned her sad expression. He thought seriously for a moment. He did not want to part ways with Harvy yet. They had just begun their new relationship and naturally they both wanted to spend as much time together as possible.

He had a considerable amount of homework to finish but that wasn't much of an excuse. Finally he let out a sigh and met the wolf's gaze. "I would love nothing more than to spend more time with you 'Dire Wolf.' " Harvy beamed. "We could do our homework at my house! You could stay for dinner. I know mom would LOVE that!" She finished with a snicker. Gar grinned back. "Would you mind waiting for just a moment Harvy? I should see if my father is home." She nodded happily, hope evident in her eyes. Gar hastily ascended into the air and flew over to his trailer. Holding his breath he gently eased the front door open and stepped inside. He let out a deep sigh of relief when he spotted his father's slumbering form on the sofa. Gar approached the crow and gently shook him. Victor With looked up at his son through dreary eyes and a smile spread across his face. "Well if it aint' my boy! You're looking well..." Gar smiled sweetly. "Father...I was hoping to find you home and well. I wish to study at Harvy's tonight and wanted to inform you."

Mr. With studied his son's face for a long time before a look of realization crossed his features, followed by a truly monumental smile. "Dear Gaea...My boy you're IN LOVE!" He enveloped the flustered raven in a truly massive hug. "Praise Gaea the day has come! Of course of course! Get over there you rascal! Enjoy your youth and your love! Cherish it...and cherish her." Gar returned the crow's loving hug. "Thank you father...be well...I shall return before too long." Mr. With winked at his son. "Go get her lad." With a chuckle Gar picked up his bag and quietly slipped out the door, flying back down to Harvy with a wide grin on his face. He landed a foot away from the wolf who had to shield her face from the gust of wind, though a smile graced her features. Gar enveloped her in a warm embrace. "It seems we shall spend the evening at your home my lovely young wolf." Harvy let out a squeal of excitement and kissed Gar on the cheak. "Awesome! Come on let's go!" The raven chuckled at the excited little wolf's antics as she tugged him along.

Gar let out a sigh of contentment as he silently praised Gaea for all the blessings he had so recently received. He could not recall ever before feeling so content with his life. He was in love...and his love returned his affections. He had gained a friend and a lover in the curious, sweet young wolf known as Harvest Sellow. For the first time his universe seemed to be at peace...and his heart...complete.
