CHAPTER 9

Pushing the front door open using both his muzzle and teeth together to get the door to even open the door itself allowing him to enter their home easily, Tirol came to realize by how old the scents of the house was that Miri wasn't here which made his heart fall in pain knowing that with everything that had happened the task ahead of him wouldn't be any easier. Dropping his head with the awful memory of what had occurred just under a hour ago, he wouldn't blame Miri if she never came back after what had happened.

Having lost her scent as soon as he reached the village outskirts her scent blending in with the rest of the pack members that were already coming out to start off the morning, Tirol gave up on trying to find her especially in this form he decided to head home to see if she was there and if not get dressed and go find her as there was only one other place that he could think she would be at this time of the morning.

Once inside, he took human form once more quickly going about getting into some new clothing with his old clothes having all but shredded when the feral side took over, feeling a bit better almost immediately before heading out once more. Heading for the market passing by several members who offered greetings however there was the feelings of a growing tension in the air although he couldn't tell what though he had a feeling that news had started to spread.

One thing that he learned quickly was that one of the hardest things to gain when you were a new member of the pack was trust and it was something that a person truly didn't want to lose especially the mistake that he had just done. A lot of the members still hated the idea of a half breed werewolf being accepted into the pack but what really pushed the dagger into the heart of many was that the future Alpha female of the pack had accepted him as a mate. ~Good grief, can things get any worse?~ he thought to himself as he stopped by one of the vendors that sold flowers and gifts purchasing Miri's favorite hoping that at least she may be willing to hear his side of the story if he brought a piece offering. Approaching the driveway that lead up to the Alpha's home, the scent that Miri left behind was fresh indicating that indeed she was there however as it entered his nostrils it caused him to reel back as he realized how upset she truly was. Casting his eyes up toward the massive building that he had spent the first several months in when he came to the pack and it felt like his first home in his new life.

Tirol found himself hesitating about continuing up to the building his muscles refusing from continuing on their own afraid of what to expect knowing that the days events have probably ruined his future with Miri. At this point, he didn't care about his position in the pack as it meant nothing without her. Letting out a sigh, a sad one at that, he finally urged his muscles to move pushing him closer to the building with each step closer to the front door his feet becoming heavy with emotions bearing down on his shoulders as he drew closer to where he needed to go.

Stepping up to the door allowing one final breath to escape his lips before allowing a trembling hand to reach up finding the doorbell resting on his finger tips. The trembling became violent with fear racing through his heart as he found that a part of him wanted to wait however he knew that if he didn't try that he may never be at peace. That final thought drove the tips of his fingers forward pressing the doorbell allowing for a series of unique chimes to be heard inside the home.

Pulling back his hand that had become steady once more knowing that there was no turning back now, Tirol began the long wait for a response that he hoped would be willing to hear what truly happened and not rip him apart. The wait was truly long as no response came after a few minutes of waiting causing him to start to turn away thinking that they were either asleep or comforting Miri at this time.

The sound of the locks tumblers opened and the door knob being twisted and opened caused him to stop and turn back. As the door opened revealing a lighted interor before Kia, Tirol's sister in law, standing there with a surprised look on her face to see who was there. "Tirol...its not a good time for you to come here...father is furious with you." she explained stepping out of the house closing the door partly behind her a serious look on her face. Although she was still kind in heart, it was one of her best qualities with the pack making her trustworthy with many members of the pack however she did inform him although it was qualities like such that make a good leader, she had no real care for becoming the next Alpha of the pack which allowed Miri a free path almost.

Tirol at times after speaking with Miri when he first met her, could've swore that she would've been more happy with being offered a position on the council more if she would be able to keep teach the next generation of guardians for the pack. "I know, but I wanted to try and explain what really happened this morning..." "I think that would be a good idea however Miri is really upset so best thing to do is wait until she is ready to talk with you." Kia said noticing the gifts that he had with him. "I can give those to her if you wish, at least that way she knows that you still think about her."

"That would be great, sis." Tirol answered feeling better as he handed over the gifts to her. One little trait that he took on using since coming to the pack grounds and after the marriage ceremony was calling many of Miri's sisters 'sis' to their enjoyment and humor. Taking a rose from his pocket that he had carefully crafted out of origami paper handing it over to her. "Something special is inside it for her."

Kia seemed to study the flower with enjoyment before adding. "I see that you have been reading using those books I loaned you, eh?"

"Yep, I had the perfect anniversary night and present planned until this morning's incident." Kia was about to answer when a very irritated voice sounded behind the door causing her to open the door slightly.

"No one, dad." she tried to cover for Tirol and it didn't seem to work when Turek saw what she had in her hands.

"Are these for Miri..." Before Tirol could leave the door swung open fully to reveal her father who was dressed in what was described as the official garb for the Council to wear for council duty. His expression at the time before he joined them was once of tension and determination about something when he saw who was at the door it turned to rage however it wasn't clear on his face.

"Kia, your mother wants to see you as soon as possible." he told his daughter in a calm voice turning his attention to her.

"Yes, father...have a good day, Tirol. I will make sure that Miri get these." Kia said leaving the pair alone and by this time Tirol was ready to leave however when Turek's hand shot out grabbing a hold of him by the throat, startling him with the grip being slight at first but by the feel of how much tension was in the muscles were ready to tighten.

"Not so fast, pup...I want to know where you think that you can betray my daughters trust not to mention my own with your actions?!"

"Sir, I-"

"Or how can you expect my family or this pack to trust its safety in your hands with your actions and thoughts when they break our laws like you did this morning?! You know how much pain and distrust you have caused Miri by your actions?!"

"I WAS OVERDOSED ON FEMALE PHERMONES THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT GETTING A HEAVY DOSAGE THIS MORNING! I GOT A MASSIVE DOSAGE THIS MORNING WHICH CAUSED ME TO GO FERAL! I couldn't control myself! And you know that there are two parts of a werewolf's mind so it can't be always ones fault!" Tirol fired back and that's where the next series of problems for him that made Tirol to wonder a few things.

"Yet a true born werewolf knows how to control both sides of their mind and they are suppose to be able to work with that half so there isn't any chaos caused in a pack or in a family!" Turek answered the words stinging Tirol the most by its first half. "Oh wait! That's right you aren't a true born but a weak blooded human/wolf hybrid!"

"You had every right not to accept me into this pack, sir! I love Miri more than anything and have tried my best to follow the rules to the letter however since coming here I have been kidnapped, shot at, drugged, experimented on, and stalked by a visiting guard that ended up overdosing me on phermones that caused me to do something that I didn't want to do!" Tirol growled in a growing anger his eyes set upon showing how much hurt that he was in. "You promised me that Jasmine wouldn't harassed me any longer and yet here it turned out that she was trying to overdose me the entire night and if Miri hadn't stopped me from continuing I doubt what else would've happened."

"There haven't been any reports about the strange smell so how are we to take your word that there was any occurrances. Why didn't you report it if you were experiencing such?!"

"I didn't think that it would be appropiate to report such a tiny thing when it wouldn't effect the pack."

"Did you ever stop to consider that it might be a attack by a Vampire squad? Or that the entire village male population could've been infected with something that you and Miri were, not to mention that have you ever thought about what a Feral Werewolf could do..."

"No, sir I-"

"That you could have gone about injuring many of our guardians and soldiers leaving our pack undefended?!" Turek again charged his voice rising with his grip tightening on his throat causing him to choke. "As of right now until further notice in which a decision can be decided, you are hereby removed from your duties and your rank is reduced to Omega once more. You are to report back to guard duty immediately for the rest of the day."

Reeling backward in a surprise, Tirol realized that he was in enough trouble that arguing any further with Turek would probably end up causing him a lot more than he ever wanted. "Yes, sir."

"Now get out of my sight!" Turek said letting go of Tirol's throat leaving him coughing collapsed on the ground trying to catch his breath. His emotions were running wild still feeling the effects of feeling bad for his actions and accepting the punishment that he had just received.

Getting up once more, Tirol bowed his head in respect of the Alpha before leaving him to stand in the door-way watching his son in law walk away from the house. Unknown to him, Miri had heard the commotion from the bedroom where she had been recovering and upon hearing Tirol's voice including her father's angry voice caused her to leave the bedroom to see what was going on.

To her surprise, she saw how her father was choking Tirol rage clearly playing across his face. Miri was still upset about what Tirol had done however when Kia had brought up the bundle of flowers and candy with the origami flower saying that Tirol had brought these by for her. Kia explained that since Miri wasn't quite ready to see him, Kia had offered to take the gifts up to her for him.

Taking the rose unfolding it to find another poem written on it,

One in Spirit

I cant stop dreaming about you You are the most happiest thing that ever happened in my life. I cant stop thinking about the little jokes you used to make. I wish you were here with me but suddenly you left. I know we are physically apart but we are one in spirit. May the almighty God be with you always. Am missing you in action.

~Oh, Tirol.~ she thought shaking his head knowing that even though he could be irritating with his actions that she had to remind herself that he wasn't born as a werewolf like she was meaning that he had a lot to learn in the process. One thing that she didn't like was how her father handled things however she realized that he was also one of the older council members his current age being over 100 years old maybe older with her mother being about 10 years younger than him.

At times, Miri thought her father was getting to old to be in control of the pack as some questionable things and recently she started to think that this was why her father and mother have been trying to push both her and Tirol into learning the proper tactics and leadership. Things just got complicated by this morning's incident, although she was angry with Tirol, she found herself feeling probably as bad as Tirol probably felt at this point.

Letting out a sigh, she went about getting changed and get ready for the day as her father had told her that if she wanted she could take the day off until she felt better. For right now she thought she needed some time to think and maybe later that day talk with Tirol if she was in a better mood to actually listen to what he had to say.
