To Nanna's House or Bust (part 1 of 2)
This is the third installment of "Amenti and Cubby" and I think this one might run a bit long so I will put a part 2 in soon. I had a (slightly depressing) writer's block for a while but I'm finally ready to get back to writing. The general idea of part 1 is to set up part 2 so that's where most of the excitement will be going on. I will try regardless to insert as much as I can. Feel free to rate, comment, as you feel true and if you have anything to say please post it . I do feel like I need help with my writings so any form of criticism is welcome enjoy.
"This is it" I whispered to myself "The day daddy has to go back to work". I'd known this day was coming since he told me about five days ago but it seemed to far away I hadn't even thought of it. Now it was the day and I have to go to his mother... my grandmother's house for a few hours. I rubbed my eyes and yawned. It was midnight and I wanted to face the day as bright eyed and bushy tailed as I could manage. I giggled on my play of words and wiggled my tail, I touched my diaper and it was pretty wet. "How am I going to sleep with... this?" I sighed to myself. I felt around the bed careful not to wake Amenti who was snoring quietly, just as I sighed in defeat my paw nudged it. "Bingo" I smiled to myself as I picked up the paci and stuck it into my mouth and sucked peacefully. The thought of going to nanna's erased from my mind completely... almost. I gave a sleepy sigh and soon fell into a dreamless sleep. When I felt Amenti pick me up I woke instantly "Good morning to you too cubby" I gave a smile and put my head on his shoulder and fell asleep to the feeling of him petting my headfur.
When I woke up I had a new diaper on and Amenti was no where to be seen. I whimpered for a second but then I remembered that he was making breakfast. I smiled at my knowledge and then looked around. I beamed completely with now knowing that I was in my playpen. I looked at my toys and decided to play with my bunny that I named Wrin. Having a toy to talk to proved to be surprisingly comforting "Wrin... I don't wanna go to nanna's house" the bunny just looked at and smiled, but in my mind he said "Well Ari, you have to be open to new things" I looked a little relived that the bunny had wisdom to share with me. "But I'm scared..." the bunny said to me "Amenti will never put you in any situation where you would be hurt" the bunny smiled as usual and continued "He only wants the best for you". I hugged Wrin for being such a wise bunny "Thank you Wrin, as long as I have you I'll be okay" I said. I played with Wrin and a few other toys pretending to be at a party for about an hour then Amenti came into the room. "You're happy today." Amenti said to me with a hint of surprise in his voice. "Yeah, thank Wrin." I giggled from behind my paci that I found under Wrin when I hugged him.
Amenti gave a subtle sigh of relief and he walked up to me, and shook my bunny's paw, "Thank you Wrin for helping cubby out with his distress." I giggled "He said to thank you for giving him me to help." Amenti let out a chuckle, "Ready for breakfast cubby?" My tummy began to grumble as he said it and I giggled more "I'll take that as a yes" and he poked my tummy. Amenti picked me up and strode into the dining room where a bowl of oatmeal was waiting for me. Before he fed me he put a bib on me that read: Messy Eater, which made me blush. "Would you like me to feed you or are you a big boy?" I thought of it for a second and then I told him to feed me "pweeze" which made him laugh and begin to feed me. A bowl of oatmeal and a bottle of apple juice later and you get a messy cubby. My sleeper had been completely unguarded by my bib and I made sure not to prove it a liar, taking every chance to be messy as possible. "My, my aren't you a messy one?" I gave a short smile and a playful giggle which got me a pat on my headfur and a bath. "But I don't wanna take a bath" I said, any sense of playfulness gone replaced with poutyness. "Cubby, you have to take a bath you are sticky and messy." I still was a little pouty but daddy was serious and I wanted him to be happy. I let a sigh escaped and finally gave up "Okay daddy I'll take a bath." Amenti must have felt sorry for me because he picked me up and told me "Plus you get to play with your new bath toys." I felt better already as I thought of what toys would await me in the bathing room
"Good, now come here." Amenti picked me up and carried me to the bathroom. Amenti said to me "Oh yeah I forgot to point out to you that you need a bath anyway." I gave him a confused look and saw him point to my very full diaper and then the smell hit me. He just laughed "Yes you are a messy cubby and you're in need of a change anyway. As I was bathing I made it my mission to get him as wet as I could, for payback of making me take a bath. "I'm starting to get the feeling that your trying to get me wet" I said nothing and gave him an innocent smile and a splash he laughed again and I began to giggle, lightening up. When he began to wash my ears and tail I began to purr softly. "Ah, I see that you like that cubby." I began to blush and stop it but I was fruitless and purred anyway. After I took my bath and I had a fluffy towel around me Amenti carried me to my nursery and changed me and got me dressed. I wore a blue diaper and blue plastic pants that said "Messy Cubby" on them and I always wondered how he got them engraved I just shrugged and decided that it was a custom order or something. Then came another blue onesie then jean overalls. I smiled when I saw myself in my infantile clothing. Finally came my blue paci then I sucked on it as daddy clipped to my overalls.
By the time I had been done examining myself daddy had a baby bag packed and ready and told me "I'm not sure how long I will be working because I did miss a week so I packed your pajamas too." I whimpered slightly and he rubbed my headfur "Now, now cubby I thought you already settled your problems with going when you spoke with Wrin." I smiled remembering my past conversation with my stuffed animal/best friend. "Can I take him with me?" He smiled and gave a small laugh "Of course you can cubby." I held my arms up and he picked me up. "We'll sit here and wait for nanna okay?" I nodded nervously and suckled on my paci a little more. Amenti gave Wrin and I calmed down a little more and Wrin said to me "It's okay Ari I'm here to help you". I stayed in Amenti's embrace sucking my paci for sometime around noon a knock on the door came, "Hello, Amenti" came the warm voice of the motherly fox. Amenti looked genuinely happy and he hugged the slightly shorter fox "Hello mom this is Amari but he goes by Ari most of the time." I waved and squirmed causing my diaper to crinkle. "Hello Ari nice to meet you, how old are you." I told her I was ten and she looked at me a little closer then smiled "Well your wardrobe resembles a three year old and judging by your wet diaper more of a baby." I looked amazed as I didn't know how she even knew my diaper was wet, she just picked me up and kissed me on my cheek "Don't be afraid, baby I've raised three kits of my own and you see how Amenti turned out right?" I blushed and looked at him who was blushing as well. "Aww look at my little boys." Amenti and I blushed even more "Okay mom that's enough I have to go to work soon" He began to fill her in on me and I dazed in and out of their conversation I caught things like "He likes bottles of milk around this time of night" and "If he wakes up wet he gets cranky and irritable, I do not, do I, no that's crazy.
I began to ponder that statement, then a few minutes later Amenti interrupted my thoughts "I'm sorry to bother you cubby but I'm leaving now" I began to whimper a little more but he hugged me "I promise that I'll call as soon as I know when I get off okay?" I smiled with the reassurance in his voice and nodded. "Ari, is is okay if I call you "cubby" as well?" I thought of it and figured it of a nickname for me so I nodded. "Okay cubby ready to go" I looked for Wrin and after a fruitless attempt to find him I began to whimper. "What's wrong cubby?" I looked at her with teary eyes and said "Wrin's missing." she gave me the maternal look she did Amenti and said "No sweetie Wrin is here" she said to me as she pulled him out of the baby bag. I gasped "Wrin!" I chimed as she handed the bunny to me and we were reunited "Ready to go now?" I nodded and held my arms out and she picked me up and we departed Amenti's house.
I held my head in her shoulder, afraid of what anyone might say if they saw me like this. "Hey Amari." I looked up, so much for hiding. It was Ryan, and I smiled. Ryan was one of the kids who were nice to me and we were friends. "Hi Rye" I said and we shared a small laugh. "I see you finally got what you wanted, or excuse me needed" I looked at him confused at first but then I recalled telling him that I needed someone to take care of me. I told him that because I felt terrible that day and needed to vent my feelings onto someone else... whining helps. My look of confusion faded and I smiled "Yeah did you find what you were looking for?" Rye was looking for "himself" when he went on a pilgrimage to the United Kingdom, where exactly I forgot. He sighed and said "Not even a clue, I guess us teens are just meant to be perplexed." he smirked and said "Well I'm teen your a toddler" and I laughed. Rye was allowed to tease me because he knew my limit. "Ryan time to come in." a voice came from behind him. "Sorry Ari, I gots to go now" we smiled and I said "Nice seeing you again Rye" he winked and said "Keep an eye on cubby ma'am" nanna just laughed and said "Yes Amenti told me he could be a handful at times" they shared a laugh and he finally said "Okay see you guys later, Ari hope I see you sometime." and with that he began to run home. He was a fast runner I commented to myself. I noticed that his tail was swaying happily and I smiled "It's so nice to see Rye again." as I reminisced about the times we shared together. By the time I was done I was in the car seat of nanna's car and we were pulling out of the driveway.
I pulled my paci up from my overalls and began to suck on it, and picked Wrin and cuddled him as I felt tired and began to drift off. I guess this won't be too bad after all. I thought before I was pulled down under into the soft meadow known as dream land.
