The next morning I awoke to find Christopher lying next to me, his arm draped over me. My body felt sore, the rest of me felt great. Today was the first day of my training as assistant manager. I felt excited and eager to begin work. Slowly getting out of bed I walked into the bathroom, took off my pajamas and underwear and weighed myself, down two pounds sense yesterday, smiling at my self in the mirror, I grabbed for my uniform that hung over the towel rake. I got dressed and walked into the kitchen, where I was greeted by scent of pancakes and freshly perked coffee, the scents filled the air and my lunged, inhaling deeply a contented feeling rose up inside of me. My stomach gave out a loud rumble in response. Being as how I wanted to keep my man happy I offered,

"Two pancakes nothing on them, coffee with two splenda packets."

Christopher sighed.

"Fine with me I guess."

Watching him sit down at a stool and dig right into his food, it amazed me how he could eat without careful planning, calorie counting, purge preparation nothing. Just sits down and eats without guilt.

"Stop watching me and sit down and eat."

He said sensing my watchful gaze that was upon him.

Being that my body was starving, I ate my food in record speed. This time I decided to keep this meal, today was important. Kissing Christopher on the cheek and grabbed my purse and went to work. Not long after I parked my car Ron dressed in a pair of brown slacks, white starched shirt and brown tie greeted me at my driver's side window. This was the first time he had ever met me at my car.

"Is everything alright?"

I asked him, my face an expression of worry.

"Everything is great. Come on and let's get started."

Putting the car in park and turning it off I slipped my keys into my purse and followed him to the restaurant.

"First off as assistant manger you'll be doing the scheduling, inventory of supplies, supervising of employees and training new comers."

This was going to be easy I told myself. My ego swelled a little.

"No problem."

Ron's gaze turned to me and winked.

"That's what I love to hear."

He said handing a book over to me. The front of the book read Assistant manager handbook volume 1. Opening the handbook I thumbed through the pages thoroughly impressed with the information in it, I promised myself to read it thoroughly and carefully apply it to my work.

"Maybe sometime I can share some ideas I have."

Ron scratched his head and nodded.

"Can we discuss them after work this evening?"

My head whipped in his direction. For the first time in a long time an employer was showing interest in my ideas, this opportunity would not go in the trash.

"That's fine with me."

I said punching in at the time clock next to the employee cubbies and lockers. Those eight hours seemed to fly by it was perhaps the happiest working day yet. After the hour long discussion I had with Ron about my ideas for inventory, saving money, and how we can increase profit I found myself sitting in my car drinking a diet coke as I slowly nibbled at some carrot sticks I had packed the night before. My cell phone rang.

"Hello?"

I greeted Christopher happily.

"Hey sweetheart how was your day?"

"Great, flew by fast, the handbook I was given is very informative."

"Glad to hear it. I just wanted to let you know that I'll be home late tonight."

My heart sank and a slight paranoia kicked in, was he cheating or was it work? Clearing my throat I responded,

"Don't work too hard."

"Is everything alright? you sound troubled all of a sudden."

"Don't worry everything is fine."

Hanging up and turning off my cell phone which I put away in my purse I drove home a little too fast, taking a deep breath I slowed down so I couldn't get a ticket. The minute I got home I locked the front door and grabbed my box cutter that was kept in the drawer next to the silverware drawer and went to the bathroom. Closing the door behind me, my clothes came off than I took the blade to my stomach and made small neat cuts. Watching them turn red than the blood came to the surface. My stress went away.

Dressing my wounds I walked into the living room naked. That is when I noticed Christopher's laptop onto of the coffee table, it was opened up. Walking by it I noticed it was on. A message was on the screen from a woman named Christie. Glancing at it out of curiosity I noticed that it hinted about a get together and how last night was too orgasmic for words. My face began to heat up in anger as it always does when I am angry. Now he was cheating on me? We haven't been living together long and now he's fucking around. Right than and there I wanted to smash the laptop, hunt down the woman and rip her hair out, kick Christopher out on his ass. Taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm my rage I put the laptop on the kitchen table and turned on the TV. When he gets back I would have this bullshit figured out.

Focusing my attention on the television shows before my eyes I made an attempt to ignore the thoughts of Christopher possibly cheating on me. Nothing could be done about it till all the information was set before me anyhow. It's not like I would be in the poor house without him, Being on my own was the worst thing in the world, being cheated on that however was a big fucking slap in the face and an even bigger blow to the ego and mind.

Than again if he was cheating, perhaps maybe he would deserve a chance to make up for it, after all I myself wasn't perfect either, being as fat and ugly as I was. The girl he could be cheating with was more than likely thinner than her, with nicer hair too. Than again if was with my fatass maybe that means he like fatties. Turning off the TV, my body made its wall to the small gym room where I kept my treadmill, ab rocket, and five pound weight set. Picking up my weigh set I began what would turn into a marathon of two hundred and fifty reps, after which my treadmill run started and didn't stop not even when the front door opened and Christopher walked through the house calling my name. I didn't reply but keep running on the treadmill in the nude, sweat rolled down my body in various places.

"What are you doing running with your clothes off?"

"Just feel like it that's all."

I responded keeping my gaze looking towards the wall.

"Why are those bandages on your stomach?"

He asked walking into the room.

"Did you hurt yourself, or did someone hurt you?"

Turning to look at him I noticed he looked sad, like he was about to cry.

'If you must know I did them to myself. It takes the pain away."

Shaking his head in disappointment he said,

"What would make you do that?"

"Tell me about that message on your laptop first."

I said my teeth clenched.

"That? You mean Christie?"

"That's rightColombo."

"Christie is a man, last night I came to his house and helped him decorate his bathroom."

I stopped running turned off the treadmill and fell to my knees. I couldn't believe the bullshit I was hearing, more proof would have to manifest itself.

"Bring him here than."

I fainted there on the spot. Christopher picked me up and took me to the bathroom and ran cool water on my body tired and dehydrated body. After which he dried me off and took me to the bedroom where he force fed me with food and Gatorade.

"I wouldn't dare cheat on you, when your feeling better I will have him come over here and prove it to you, I'll even take a lie detector test if need be."

With little to no strength in my body I couldn't fight him back as the food and Gatorade made its way down my throat hole. Putting a pair of sweat pants and a sweater on me, he propped me up on the bed and held me in his arms. Even though I couldn't see it, I knew tears were streaming down his face.

"Please stop doing this to yourself, I love you. I want you to live. You're not going to be around much longer if you keep this up."

"I will get better."

I lie quickly.

"Don't worry please."

Christopher dialed a number on his cell phone and put it on speaker.

"Hello?"

A flamboyant young man responded.

"Christie, I want you to meet my girlfriend Anne."

"Sweetie you have yourself a great man, which I had one like him."

"You're not a woman?"

I responded weakly.

"Heavens no. Oh boy you must have seen my message I left Christopher. Please don't get the wrong idea; he came over to redecorate my bathroom. I paid him nicely tonight after he helped me rearrange my furniture in my living room."

"I see how long have you known him?"

"Let me think, about a month and three days."

Looking up into my man's eyes, I cried. He kissed me on the cheek and held me close to him.

"I am sorry."

I whispered.

He nodded that he forgave me.

"Want him to come over so you can meet him?"

Christopher whispered back.

I shook my head.

"I hate to be rude but I have a party to get ready for, we'll meet sometime alright?"

"Alright Christie nice talking to you."

I said closing my eyes and letting myself rest.

Christopher continued to hold me in his arms for quite sometime cause I remember waking up to finding him holding me. It was the best nap I had had in a long time considering how run down I was.
