Chapter 2: How the hell?

"I . . . I . . . I t-think I was just asked on a date," Katlin whispered meekly staring down at her feet.

Diana's eye grew large with surprise, before, a large grin crossed her face and she fell backwards laughing. It took several minutes before the snow leopard regained her composure, sitting back up she wiped her eyes with the palm of her hands, "girl you had me spun up and ready to castrate someone."

"I am supposed to be ready by 19:30 tonight," Katlin said her voice just above a whisper, "and I think he wants to have sex with me."

"You snag tall dark and handsome," Diana replied in an excited tone, her tail snapping back and forth erratically , both of her hands going to the nearest of Katlin's arms, "and he wants to fuck on the first date? Oh boy! You will have to tell me ev-re-th-ing. And I mean everything," Diana continued in a sultry tone. "I have had my sights on him and he wants to date little . . . oh maybe he just wants a shoe in and he really wants to fuck both of us. Won't that be fun? Little you ridding him while I sat on his face oh can almost feel it! You are so fucking lucky . . ."

Katlin for her part was blushing furiously, her tail fur standing on end, at how Diana was speaking. She tried not to think too much on it, but it was that last thing he said before she left, 'wear something that can be removed easily,' what the hell did he mean by that? Peaking over at Diana she saw that her roommate was becoming quite animated as she spoke about more depraved things that she wanted to do if given the chance.

"What was his name by the way?" Diana asked, stopping her movements so that her right leg was raised and her foot was behind her head, "you did get his name right? Does he know yours?"

"Deamos," Katlin replied softly.

"Deamos? That's an off world name if I ever heard one," Replied Diana, scratching the top of her head with her foot, "any idea what he does?"

"No, but he had a wood, real wood, coffee table," stated Katlin, looking up from the floor with a quizzical look on her face, "he also had some very high end toys about his front room. His apartment, now that I think about it seemed off, like one trying to hard."

"Soooo he lives by himself, has money, no other women in his life and he is taking you to dinner after you spill coffee all over him? Honey you better hold onto that and not let go for the anything," Diana stated, sounding serious for once, "that little annalist thing you got going on aint gonna get you too far and I can already see that you are starting to go down that road. And like the last few you start taking them apart in your head trying to find flaws and such. For this one just live for the moment you actually keep him long enough to enjoy dating."

"But if he has all this money," Katlin began, standing up and turning to face Diana, "why is he still single? Everything in that apartment just about screamed success, so what am I missing? He had pictures about his home and . . .," she trailed off as recognition flashed in her head, "all the pictures he had that I saw were of the same thing, him and five others in uniform."

"So he probably had some academy buddies," Diana replied putting her hands behind her and leaning back on the bed, "most guys usually do honey. Don't' read too much into it, if you got out more I doubt you would have noticed."

"No . . . no, that is not what I meant," Katlin stated, one of hands going to the end of her muzzle in thought, "there was something about the pictures, they all had the MK-X82 series armor that BETHACORP puts out."

"You work for them," Diana said offhandedly, "maybe you can find out more on him."

"I work for one of their partner companies, and no I would not be able to find out more."

"So why dwell on it? He seems friendly cause he didn't kill you when you spilled coffee on him and he has money. I am willing to bet he has more credits to his name then either one of us will make in our life."

"There was something about the pictures that caught my attention," closing her eyes trying to recall the image, "it was important because I remember reacting when I saw it. Hold on a moment I need to check something."

"You're doing it again."

Walking out of her room Katlin headed towards the back of the apartment where a third bedroom had been converted into a study or lounge of sorts. There was one book case of moderate size filled with assorted novels. To its left there was a workstation that had a computer, printer, fax, web cam, large monitor and ergonomic keyboard. The chair was comfortable looking but it did not have the plush feel to it. To the right of the book case was a large beanbag chair that sat in front of a T.V. Going directly to the computer Katlin powered it on before sitting down. When the screen came up she started typing. Diana came in shortly after and positioned herself directly behind Katlin, resting her arms on top of the chair.

"So what is it that you are looking for?"

"I remember seeing a symbol on the armor."

"So, don't most military units have some sort of designator?"

"Yes that is true. But it was the one he and the others had. I had seen it before when I had to work on that project dealing with the separatists on Mako."

"That was an ugly five years," Diana stated scrunching her face slightly, "one of my brothers was there, Mark you remember him right?"

"How could I forget?" Katlin replied tersely, her fur bristling slightly, "all he kept doing was try to get me naked and get in bed with him."

"Oh come on, you can't tell me that you did not enjoy all that attention."

"Yes I can."

"You are going to have to stop being so prudish and live a little."

"I do!" stated Katlin in a defensive tone, "I . . . I went on that trip with you to Kad-Is that was living it up."

"Staying in the room the whole time does not count."

"Well maybe I can't just bring guys home like you can."

"If you dressed up a little more than the librarian look, you could."

"I dress just fine thank you very much, I just don't see the point of exposing most of my body to the world."

"Well I guess you're right," Diana agreed, causing Katlin to stop what she was doing and to look back at her, "you could always spill more coffee." Letting out an agitated sigh that one would not hear due to Diana's teasing laugh, Katlin went back to typing away on the computer.

Several hours had passed with Katlin continuously typing away, shifting through numerous pages that popped up, and tagging ones that perked her interest. Diana had left the room finding the work to be most boring. Katlin stopped only once to hear moaning and the sound of a headboard banging against the wall; rolling her eyes and shaking her head she had gone back to searching. It was nearly 18:00 before she found something. It was a small article that was buried in an off world news release in regards to military actions against separatists nearly 25 years ago:

Third solar event Damal Sector Yr. 2845

Following a failed attempt at capturing known terrorist and rebel leader only known as 'Radoth' the Greater Alliance has acknowledged that a unit made up of an unknown number had been present on the third moon of Damal. This unit had been tasked with capturing Radoth but had met with 'greater than anticipated' forces quoted by Supreme Commander Count Samiael Domar. The unit had been identified as the infamous 3rd Battalion Night Watch division. Night Watch being a clandestine wing of the military reportedly only answering to the Emperor, this has yet to be proven and is denied by Count Samiael Domar. No casualty list has been released to the press nor total number that had been on the ground required by Senate rulling 243.5b of the Allium Accord. Unconfirmed reports have be given of an orbital platform directly engaging Separatist forces.

Frowning slightly Katlin typed in Night Watch and Deamos and hit the search option. What came up nearly caused her to fall out of her chair. Her screen had gone blank and the Seal of the Emperor became visible with a user name login blinking. Katlin could only stare blankly, what she was looking at was an access page to classified material that could put a round in your head if you tried to hack the page. Hitting the close button nothing happened, she tried to back out of the page to no avail; she began to worry when a message showed up saying unauthorized contact link. She quickly unplugged her system and pulled everything connected to it from the, wall leaving it completely removed.

Leaning back in her chair Katlin let out a nervous breath. She was not sure if she had breached anything being that she had not tried to log in or access the cite. Standing Katlin raised her hands above her head and stretched, feeling her back pop in several places. "Well now I have something to talk about," she muttered under her breath. Looking at the time here eyes got wide the time was 18:30.

"SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!"Running to her room Katlin had gone into a panic, she did not want to leave wearing what she had on, "need something that will stand out," she murmured walking in circles, her ears flat against her head and tail fur all poofed out. "I . . . I . . . I need . . .," she stated coming to a sudden halt, "Diana! Can you come here?"

"I haven't taken anything from your room," came a muffled response.

"I need help on what to wear."

The sound of a bed squeaking followed by a thud and curse, which was followed by a door opening and the sound of footpads on carpet headed towards Katlin's room. Diana appeared in the doorway looking slightly disheveled and holding a sheet to her body. "This had better be good."

"What the hell am I supposed to wear?"

"You want me to choose your outfit?" Asked Diana, an eyebrow rising slightly.

"Y . . . yes," Katlin replied nervously, "I need something that stands out so if I disappear . . ."

"Oh come on K," Diana started, rolling her eyes while shaking her head, "I don't think you are going to be kidnapped. Or brutally raped and skinned so he can wear your pelt. You get like this every time you are asked out. Now let's see what you have to work with." Walking into the room Diana let go of the sheet and revealed that true to form she was wearing nothing.

"Do you ever wear clothing!?" Katlin asked while turning around quickly her cheeks burning, "I will not get dress in to anything with you like that."

"Oh stop being like that, were both girls here," Diana replied looking over her shoulder as she slid open a closet door, "you asked for my help so now you're getting it. Dear, when was the last time you went shopping? Everything in her is so . . ."

"I have my own taste thank you! I do not like dressing up as you do."

"Obviously," Diana replied holding up a dark grey skirt and making a face, "you want to remain single. This stuff is what my mother would wear."

"Lay off will you."

"Well considering what we have to work with and you wanting to stand out I will just have to go to extreme measures." Dropping the skirt to the floor she walked out of the room. Katlin turned back around and walked over to her closet.

"I happen to like these clothes," huffed Katlin picking up the skirt and holding it to her waist, "I don't like all my fur to show for every male to look at."

"Ok I have what is needed," came Diana as she walked back in, now clad in a shirt that was way too big for her it stopping half way down her thighs. In her arms she had an assortment of clothing which she dropped unceremoniously on the bed, "Clothes off K."

"Excuse me?"

"Take them off, or I take them off."

Staring at her Katlin realized that Diana was serious. There was no mischief in her eyes nor was there in her voice. The only thing that stood out about her where her nipples as the pushed against the fabric of her shirt. Ears splaying flat on her head she let out a small sigh of defeat. Moving woodenly she unclasped the small buckle on her skirt allowing it to drop to the floor, she then removed the green sweater she had been wearing. Standing there in nothing but simple plain bra and panties and crossed her arms under her full B cup breast and glared at Diana who was smirking.

"Happy now?" Katlin asked with a huff, her anger smoldering just below the surface, "I hope so because I as sure as hell am not!"

"Not quite," Diana replied with a big grin, rubbing paws together with glee, "but I will be once I am done with you . . . and I said everything comes off honey"

* * *

It was ten minutes past the hour and Katlin could only stare at her reflection. In the short time Diana had been at work she was surprised at what fur was staring back at her. Gone was the mousy looking vixen, in its place now stood a complete stranger. She had never worn any kind of make up before finding it distasteful and detracting, now she had blue eye shadow, mascara, a red powder like substance that had made the red highlights of her pelt reflect the red hues more as she turned to look at herself. On her left ear she now had two simple gold earrings towards its top; thankfully they were only clip on but still had the desired effect. The under garments she now wore were not her own and most definitely not something she would have worn; being made of a very lacy material and black satin, the bra being just big enough to contain her breast but also making them appear larger. The panties she now wore, under much complaint and fighting, were also black satin and a G-String. Having never worn one she kept shifting her legs and moving her hips side to side trying to make the garment more comfortable.

Out of everything that Diana had gotten for her to wear the form fitting shirt and skirt where not to showy. The teal blue shirt she now wore was low cut but not completely tasteless. It had long sleeves that stopped just above her wrist and flared out just a little. The shirt did not completely conceal her, the bottom edge stopping just below her ribs exposing her flat stomach. The skirt that had been picked out was dark blue that had a slight sheen to it. It went from her hips to mid calf; slits on both sides of the skirt went up to mid thigh. Gold thread accented every edge in a repeating floral pattern. The back of the skirt was designed so that the top passed just below her tail; which made it more comfortable not having to stick her tail through a hole or slit or have some strap going over the base of her tail. The front of skirt was a different matter; from the hips the cut swooped low stopping just above the pubic bone before going back up. A simple small gold chain was also around her waist. On her feet she had two inch high heels that had straps that crisscrossed up her ankle.

"See," Diana stated smugly, "you stand out and look good."

"I d-d-don't know," Katlin stammered, turning to her side tail twitching slightly side to side, "I think this is a little much."

"Pish-posh," Diana said rolling her eyes, "you you look good babe, if you were not going out tonight I would be taking you. Trust me you will turn heads."

"I just feel . . . exposed . . . that's all."

"You are showing the goods without showing them honey, you will turn heads."

"But I have to ask," Katlin began looking over at Diana, "is the butt floss necessary? I feel like I have a permanent wedgie."

Diana suppressed a laugh, covering her mouth, "don't worry by the second drink you won't notice it."

"I am not drinking looking like this."

"Sure you're not honey, you will just drink water right? That is until the one question will be brought up that makes you really nervous and you will ask the cute waiter for a drink."

"What are you talking about? I have never balked at a question when in a social situation," Katlin replied, hands on her hips, "I have been surprised but I have never had to get a drink to steady my nerves."

"Ha, just wait he is going to ask something and you are going to do it. Oh also you got five minutes until he is here," Stated Diana with a lecherous grin.

Katlin froze mid retort and her jaw open and eyes bugged out. 'Oh crap, crap, carp I look like an expensive companion and she knows it. Damn her. What is he going to do when he sees me? FUCK!' Katlin continued staring bug eyed at her room's doorway, Diana having vacated it with a flick of her white tail. Realization hit Katlin as she sat the clock in her room read 19:30.

"Diana you better put some damn clothes on if you are answering the door!" Deamos froze his had stopping an inch above the door. He had heard the yelling and was conflicted on whether or not he should knock a second time or wait a moment. Choosing the safer path he waited a moment longer he knocked twice on the door, instantly all commotion from the other side went silent. It was several more moment before he heard footsteps coming to the door. When the door opened he was greeted by a lithe female snow leopard wearing boy shorts and bra. His left eye ridge raised slightly above the green glasses as he stared at the snow leopardess who in turn was blatantly looking him up and down and undressing him with her eyes.

"Ohhhhh Kaaaaaattttttlllllllliiiiiiinnnnnn," Diana said in a very sultry tone while looking over her shoulder, "your date is hear. And on time too . . . I like that in a male. If this doesn't work with the two of you hit me up, well even if it doesn't hit me up." Licking her lips sensually, as she finished talking to Deamos.

Katlin slowly came up from the hall looking very nervous. When she peeked around the corner a small 'eep' escaped from her. Deamos was wearing pretty much the same as before; except he now had on a black form fitting shirt. The belt he wore now had a gold buckle with a symbol that looked vaguely like the one she had seen in the pictures of his home. He had on a calf length black leather coat that appeared to be lined with a very dark blue silk. At first glance she had thought it was your typical trench coat but when she actually took a moment to study it, the thing seemed too nice.

"Kat?" Diana called again, "get your furry butt out or I will drag you out."

'You can do this,' Katlin thought, 'all this is, is a simple going out. He said he likes you so think of this a friendly night out.' Taking another breath she started walking leaving the hall and headed towards the door keeping her eyes on the floor. Wear something that you be taken off easily, his voice echoed through her head causing her to stumble slightly, 'fuck.'

"Well that's one way to screw up a first impression." Diana stated rolling her eyes.

"Interesting," Deamos stated, the left eye ridge still raised, "if you are ready?" Stepping so he was perpendicular to the door way, he raised his right hand motioning for Katlin to step out.

Swallowing slightly Katlin walked out the door not without shooting a fearful glance towards Diana who only smirked her eyes dancing with mischief. Looking forward again she felt a chill go down her spine, she had never looked at his hands in any kind of detail being that when he spoke the moth full of curved teeth at least three inches in length held ones rapt attention. For the first time she had a chance to really see his hands; each finger had a claw tip that was more angular in shape vice the smooth curve most others had. She also noted with a slight shudder seeing that they would retract back into the finger leaving a smooth finger tip.

"Cold?" Deamos asked quietly.

Katlin started slightly, "N-no just exc-c-c-ited."

"Indeed."

Stopping at the lift they waited in silence, Katlin trying hard to not make eye contact and not wring her hands together. 'He could palm my face with those hands,' Katlin thought to herself, 'why am I thinking that? I'm only going to work myself up. I need to start speaking to him I've only said a few words.' Katlin looked up as the elevator dinged, signaling its arrival. Walking in Katlin tried to think of a safe topic.

Deamos watched the vixen with casual interest. She was definitely an odd one; he could tell that she was clearly nervous even without the body language. He could smell it the moment the apartment door was opened by that snow leopardess, the smell of sex that assaulted his senses seemed to be coming off of the snow cat; which would explain the get up she was in and the shameless flirting.

"That roommate of yours is something else."

"Huh?" Katlin replied, jumping slightly before looking up at Deamos, "I-I'm sorry I didn't-"

"Your roommate is odd," Deamos repeated cutting her off, "not many would answer the door wearing what she had on."

"Y-y-yeah Dian-n-na has been very o-open about her. . ."

"Her line of work?"

Katlin felt heat rise to her cheeks and ears, which had probably turned red on the inside, "She is a Companion."

"You live with a Companion?" asked Deamos, looking down at Katlin, "I assume she chose the outfit then?"

Katlin could feel her blush getting deeper, she quickly looked down at the floor hopping the elevator would stop soon, "yes," she squeaked.

"She work from the apartment or does she flirt that way with everyone?"

"N-no!" Katlin stated louder than she had intended, looking back up to him, "she works at the D-Diamond. She dances there."

Deamos just grunted and looked back up, watching the floors tick by before speaking back up, "what is it that you do then?"

"Oh not much I work at CyberScore," Katlin replied, pleased that the topic had changed to something she was comfortable with, "I'm an analyst in the IT sector."

"Hack Hound," Deamos commented, seeing Katlin bristle at the term he shrugged.

"Intrusion Detection Specialist," Katlin corrected miffed at the slang term, "but yes I find hackers trace them shut them down and have them rolled up by whatever local Enforcer unit is available."

"Interesting," Deamos replied, stepping out of the elevator as it came to a stop and the door slid open.

Katlin followed after Deamos and realized they were now in the parking garage of the apartment. 'How much does he have?' Katlin wondered to herself being that parking bays were normally reserved for the wealthier tenants and being that they only lived on the 6th floor of the building. Staying next to him as best she could, being difficult due to the height difference, she stopped in her tracks when he approached the driver side of a gunmetal blue vehicle that had all the windows tinted to nearly pitch black. She saw that Deamos had turned around and was looking at her again with that raised eye ridge behind those green glasses he wore.

"How the hell do you own that?" Katlin stammered, not believing what her eyes were seeing.
