Forgiven, Chapter 4

Why me...

My eyes shot open again, but they were still blurred. "wait, wasn't i dead?" i thought to myself. i blinked a few times and finally cleared my vision. i tried to lean up but was again stopped by something around my arms. i looked over at my arms and confirmed that there were indeed ropes around my wrists, i sighed and examined my surroundings. i was in a wooden room, with a wooden table and chairs. there was a vase with a lone wild flower in it on the table ontop of a green table cloth, and a window at the end of the table. i continued to look around the what seemed to be a wooden cabin, noticing different things. i looked down at myself "I have to get out of here." i thought to myself. i tried moving my legs, but nope, more ropes. i squirmed silently trying to free myself from the ropes and sighed in defeat. i was stuck.

I closed my eyes and listened to my surrounding to try to figure out where i was. i heard birds chirping and the breeze blowing through tree's. i also heard water running in a slow trickle like a creek. "I must be at her home." i thought to myself. i continued to listen and heard muffled talking, two females. it was my target and the theif. i decided to stay quiet and watch them. they approached the door and i watched the dragon open the door and walked in with a green bag in her hand, the fox close behind her with another.

they seemed to be having friendly chatter as i watched them. they walked to the table and set the bags down and the dragon started unpacking the bags. by the looks of it they had just went grocery shopping. the fox mentioned something about me and i watched the dragon blush a little and playfully smacked her ear. i was confused about this and continued to watch them, curious about why she had acted that way.

after they had put the groceries away, the fox looked over to me and her eyes went wide when she saw i was awake and watching them. "uh... karena?" "yes lucina?" she teased back when she looked at her. she saw her scared look and instantly looked over to me. "well, well... look whos finally awake and alive." i glanced over at her and just blinked. i continued to look at them "you okay?" she asked me. i didn't want to talk. i stayed silent because honestly, i was very shy and never liked talking to people i don't know. and especially my target.

"don't talk huh? i see. well i know your not a mute because you did yell when you were awake two days ago." my eyes went wide as i looked at her. "yea." she said with a nod. "you have been out for a total of five days. my eyes went wider in amazment. "Five days!" i thought. "she has actually been taking care of me for five days?" that is when my stomach began to growl. i looked back up to her a little embarassed. "you hungry?" I nodded slowly and then looked down to my ropes and tugs on one of them towards her and then looked back at her.

"you know you are tied right?" I nodded slowly and looked away feeling a little bit of guilty. "she seems very nice. why would someone want her dead?" i thought to myself. she walked over towards me when the fox stopped her. "wait!" she yelled grabbing her arm. "he might still try to kill you. he might have a dagger in his fur somewhere." Karena chuckled softly. "don't worry 'Luci' she teased her. "i made sure that there wasn't ANY kind of weapon on him. and i doubt he could move very fast after being asleep for five days." she was right. i don't think i could ever get near her before she had me dead. "now, you won't hurt me, will you misser assassin?" i slowly shook my head. being an assassin now i took in the assassins code. she saved my life, now i am at her service.
