Surprise (Poem)
What if I told you I felt alone?
What if I told you I didn't have a heart?
Would you believe me now?
Would I make some sense?
I was told I was strong on my own.
I was told that I didn't need anyone.
Am I lying?
Am I insane?
But I know I have something now.
Something so strong and growing.
It happened so fast.
It sped by me so quick.
It was love.
It was passion.
It was....
It was you.
It was you that gave me a heart.
It was you that gave me fulfillment.
It was you that opened my eyes to something more.
To something I never seen before.
In the past, I was foolish.
I always thought I had love....
I always thought it would last forever.
But don't we all make mistakes?
In the past, I was trapped under depression.
I was kept in a cell with no way out.
Until I heard the keys unlock and click the door open.
And you were there with open arms.
Even though it's not every night I am near you.
Even though its not everyday I see or hear you.
You're there.
