The next morning they woke to the sound of a dragon flying overhead. "I told you people come through here often." Fyre said.

"Did you?" Cynder said back.

"I believe so. Who cares though? I want to here the latest news." He got up and went out side to see a large orange dragon come flying over. "Hey!"

The dragon turned around and started coming down to land. As he landed he quickly said, "What?"

"Do you know any recent news? It would be nice to know what goes on in the world."

"Actually, I was coming through here to spread some news. People have been saying there's a female dragon hiding somewhere in the outlaying regions of Avalar."

"Really?" Fyre knew he was getting his hopes up.

"I don't know if it's true...I heard her egg survived the raid because one of the guardians accidently pushed it out when they were fighting off the invaders. She then hatched and somehow survived and started living in an area of Avalar few have been to." The dragon finished talking and flew off.

Cynder, who had been listening the whole time said, "Sounds like some drunken tale."

Fyre replied, "I want to believe this but...how do I know?"

Spyro looked at him and said, "Well, if it means so much to you..."

"Spyro, don't say it." Cynder said

"...we'll go there."

Will he ever stop helping everyone he meets? Cynder thought.

"Thanks, but wouldn't it send you off course?" Fyre asked.

"Course? When did we start having a course?" Spyro smiled at him and finished, "Let's go now."

Cynder huffed, but agreed and they set off.

After a few nights of traveling they finally got to the outlaying regions of Avalar. They discussed where to go first, noting that the dragon had said she was in a area that wasn't visited often. They eventually decided on a valley near the world's edge. They ventured into the valley, not knowing what to look for. "I would say we need to look for something that was probaly left by a dragon who has no parents." Spyro said

"I lo...met a purple dragon who states the obvious." Cynder said while think, I love a purple dragon who states the obvious. "Sorry, I was thinking of...the word 'lot' when I said that."

Didn't sound like you were going to say lot. Spyro thought.

Fyre was thinking, I knew it. She loves him. I'm smart for someone who lived most his life alone.

Fyre started fell back a little, and beckoned Cynder to follow. "What?" Cynder asked "Be careful, if there's something you need to say without Spyro hearing we still need to stay in range."

"Okay." Fyre started. "Soooo, I see you like Spyro over there."

"WHA...!" Cynder nearly jumped and pulled Spyro on the chain. She recovered quick enough and he didn't notice.

"Shhh, sooo, unless you want me to tell Spyro." Cynder shook her head, "Admit it."

"Really? It's not obvious?" Cynder couldn't risk it and said, "Yes, I love Spyro."

"Thank you." Fyre said and caught back up to Spyro.

They searched on for a while until Spyro stopped and said, "Look. Do those look dragon-made?" He lifted a claw to point at a fallen tree with writing clawed into it: Leave now. "Does that not seem wierd?"

"So what?" Fyre said "Dragon claws etching into wood. Could be anyone."

"This place is barably explored." Spyro replied. "You can't say it was someone else. Let's continue though, only thing left to do."

They went on for another minute before coming across an odd platform. The platform was a log tied to a tree above a bush. Above the platform was a seemingly live plant with long vines that writhed around. "That's not an obvious trap." Fyre said.

"Only one way to find out." Spyro said and he stepped on the platform. The log wobbled a little before stopping. "Hmm..it doesn't seem to...!!" The platform suddenly broke from under him with the vines coming down on top of him. Cynder jumped towards him, only to get tangled in the vines, before falling on top of Spyro. The bush beneath them gave way and they crashed into a small underground cave. The were also trapped in a stone cage, suspended above a fire. From a hole in the cave came a slim, dark blue dragon, who was about the same size as Cynder. "Who do you think you are, barging into here like this?" The blue dragon questioned. "Ahh, can't answer. To many vines intangling you? Well, I can burn you by hitting the rock beside me or I can release you with the vine on my other side." She said revealing the two objects she stated. "Well, I've already chosen the rock, so you deserve to know my name. My name is Evelyn, and I don't like getting bothered.

Spyro started chewing through the vines that held his mouth closed. Evelyn turned and hit the rock. For a second nothing happened. Then the rock above them started vibrating. Spyro chewed through the last of the vine and went as close as possible to Cynder's ear and said, "I love you."
